True, I never thought of it that way.

I am wondering whether or not the PC will get any gifts from any of the NPCs.  That would make things a lot more interesting.

It was said in May (I think) that the romance interests give gifts to PCs, ranging from purely romantic to useful in combat. We'll have to wait and see, if it is still in and what is meant by *gifts*. You can search the old forum, there were many discussions on this.

Thanks. I totally didn't see that on the old forum. Also, it would be nice if non-romance interests would give gifts if you have great affinity with them. As for the romantic gifts, it will be interesting to see what the useful gifts are.

I think the whole 'NPCs giving gifts to the PC' thing was stated way back in '06, though, so it could have been cut. I really hope not though, I want Alistair to give my elf a little braclet he picked up for her in Denerim or something. It has a lot of potential.

I saw a demo of the gift-giving a few days ago (can't recall where tho), the influence gifts seem to be just random trinkets like silver chalice, gold ring etc and when given to a companion disappear from the inventory as the npc gains influence. Certain items are geared towards specific companions and gain greater influence bonuses than giving it to another member, sometimes even to the extent that certain companions will refuse the gift outright because it's totally unsuitable for them. Also, it was stated that once you give a gift to a companion, the influence gain from subsequent gifts is reduced and the likelihood that they'll even accept the gift diminishes too

And what You think, Zevran could give You? Britney Spear's CD Collection? His sword? ( and I mean SWORD not this sword) ...

Well, if my PC's lucky, she will have the option of choosing the appropriate sword for her.

Well...if Zevran will not be lucky, he will have one from me for sure
Anyway, I always liked gifts from my romance interests in games like rings, necklaces etc ( the most "gifts" I have from Baldur's Gate mods)..unfortunetly in DA:O I will not have even one

Don't worry, you'll see a *Daveth romance mod* in no time.

BTW I hope You have right about Daveth. Anyway I saw a topic on old DA:O forum,

and it looks, like fight in Tower ( where we will have to light brazier or whatever it was) is after Joining...AND I SAW there Daveth...what gave me hope, that maybe he survived Joining...Im exctited now

and he said that he played mage..and he went to the Tower after Joining ( when his PC was alredy Grey Warden). And becouse I watched every videos with Daveth, I remember, that in one of them ( from Tower) Daveth was still alive..so maybe I will have my gift

I think it's a good idea cause if you do something to ****** a character off like picking something that you really wanted to do but they didn't like it, so just give them a few gifts to calm them down and all is well again.

Like the gift system idea. Want to see the reaction if you give some irrelevant / inappropriate gift to an NPC. Do they joke, get angry?

Gifts are a sign of friendship or love, I hope there will be some symbolic items we can give. A ring for a romance, or a beer bottle just for having the pleasure to drink it near the camp fire with Oghren etc.
