You said it, so can I. Who's right? time will tell...
Personally. 9/10 for me.
i thought the characters and the engagement between them and Shepard was WAY better than ME1, though I found the interaction between shipmates and each other....not so much. ME1 was superior there.
Not that happy about ammo system, but wasn't overjoyed with overheating in ME1 either. I can take or leave either system in ME3.
I like the armor and weapon system better, but I would like more variation. Think ME2's system, with ME1's variation. And I would like the squadmates to share Shep's system. Ditch the outfit crap, that system is tacky, lame, and broke immersion for me(a little, anyway)
Combat? I personally like the combat more, especially the way melee works, but I very much understand why RPG purists hate it. I hope they keep it, but make it easier for those who aren't used to twitch-based shooting.
Summary: all in all, I like how ME2 was done overall, but some things could be done better. It left me wanting MORE. I want MORE squadmate involved quests. I want MORE interaction. I want MORE of everything. This is a good thing.
What I want to return in ME3:
The most popular characters (Liara, Ashley/Kaidan, Tali, and Garrus) to return are squadmates, in addition to a blend of ME2 squaddies, and few new ones. I expect between 10 and 12 people in ME3. Tali, as a character, is gamebreaking for me. Would not buy ME3 if character isn't there, considering how amazingly well done her story was in ME2.
Same armor system, but with more variation, and applied to the squadmates as well as Shepard.
Same combat system.
Same weapon system, but with more variation between upgrades and weapons.
Most are not disappointed to say the least
