I'm seeing A LOT of love for Tali and Garrus. There's been quite a few suggestion threads and over and over again it seems like this suggestion keeps coming up. I think it deserves its own thread to really grab the devs attention.

So please show your support for Tali and Garrus in this thread! :D

Bioware is smart enough to put them into ME3. They know that if they don't, they'll lose the support of a LOT of their fans, and they don't want that to happen.

I hope you have to pick which one of them dies in ME3, just like in the first.

Tali and Garrus were probably my favourite squad members in this game, and I had both of them with me when I took down the Human form Reaper. I also managed to keep both of them, as well as myself, alive.

In ME3, I expect to see both of them back for the final battle, as well as all surviving ME1 and ME2 squad mates.

I know BioWare listens to their fans (I'm looking at you giant talimance threads) so I really hope we get a lot of support here.

Have my full support on this as well. These are 2 characters that have really become iconic of the series in my eyes.

Garrus and Tali where my least favorite in both games.

I'd rather they make new characters for you to see, or bring back the other guys from ME2.

Ehh, I still think this is kind of useless.

Tali and Garrus can both die. They couldn't die in ME1, so their presence in ME2 is easily done.

I honestly, sincerely don't expect Bioware to turn potentially dead people into squadmates. That's a lot of work and resouces for something not everyone will experience. Again I point to Wrex in ME2. He was a fan favorite from ME1, but he's potentially dead.

I seem to say this a lot.

So the whole crew in ME2 is a waste...

You seem to forget that bioware is able to import saves.

Wrex can or can't die in ME1, so obviously he won't be in ME2

Ashley and Kaiden can both die.  So obviously both won't be in ME2.

See how ridiculous those two sound?  Yeah.

I think ME3 will be something where you can pick and choose squad mates from ME1 and ME2, as well as some new people. I think (or at least I hope) they would do something where everyone could personalize their squad. Not just a dead-set 15 members that everyone gets.

Well, if they aren't squadmates, I don't think it will be worth buying :(

What? I know Bioware imports saves. That's my point.

Wrex is potentially dead in ME1. As a result, he has a small role in ME2 for those who kept him alive.

Do you really expect Bioware to write huge roles for all 11+ squadmates from ME2? That'd be a terrible waste of resources, since they're all potentially dead. And, yes, the entire crew of ME2 is expendable, so I wouldn't expect very impressive roles from them in ME3.

With that thinking Liara is the only old ME squadmate that can return. I can't see them only bring back one person. Especially her of all people. That simply wouldn't be fair to people who romanced the others.

Also, they can't all be dead. I'm not sure what the limit on die offs is but it must be at least 4 or 5 or else your shepard doesn't even make it out.

Is it safe to say Garrus and Tali are the 2 most popular characters?

I can see them bringing back Kaidan/Ashley too. Yes, both are potentially dead, but one is guaranteed alive, and as we see in ME2, they fill the exact same role with nearly identical dialogue.

Not everyone can be dead in any one specific ME2 playthrough, but everyone can die. So they're all potentially dead.

You say that like it's something Mystranna wouldn't absolutely revel in.

I'm more concerned about whether or not they'll get a good role. Wrex's role didn't exactly measure up to his popularity.

I'd find it very odd if Bioware made ME2, an entire game focused on getting supremely attached to all of your squadmates, only to then ditch them all in the next game.

Tali and Garrus especially, since they have enormous fan followings, AND are romance options.

That being said, I do understand the sheer technical problems with this scenario, but I guess I can only wait and hope Bioware rises to the challenge.

Now you're getting picky. I aknowledge the roll of the Virmire survivor and his/her place as a potential squadmate in ME3 but just as you just said, both of them are potentially dead and according to your thinking it would be a waste to do the VA work and scripts for either of them.

Also, because of how lame it would be for your new ship to get spanked right of the bat again, I can't see an enormous roster change like the one from the first. I'm sure the less popular squadmates might not return, but this thread is about two very popular ones returning.

This is a lot of squadmates that can die that they HAVE to bring back in ME3. I remember a time when we all worried Ash and Kaidan weren't returning because it would be 'too much' work to include someone who could possibly die.

But, we are now fully expecting (safe to say realistically) that Ash/Kai and Laira will be full squadmates again, as well as Garrus and Tali. Not mention people will rally for Thane as well,a nd possibly other favorites such as Jack possibly, or Wrex.

So, that's quite a few they will have to incorporate. I really hope they do. I REALLY hope Bioware let's us finish the story with the squad members that helped to make it so great. Yes it's Shepard's story, but he couldn't have accomplished as much w/o these people.

I'm even willing to wait an extra couple of years if that's what it takes to get all the favorites back.
