According to Mass Effect SURVEYOR SURVIVOR, Tali is the 3rd least popular squadmate (right behind Jacob and Morinth)...

The New York Yankees have a lot of people who hate them.

That doesn't make them the least popular in fans, though.

Yes, Tali is the Yankees of the Mass Effect fandom. Rooting for her is just too obvious.

@ Azint

Good theory. Better one: the talimancers voted Tali out by mistake, because they forgot to read the caption of the poll.

@ Ecael

It makes her undesirable squadmate for ME3, though, unless she has a damn good plot justification to be there. But, as she may be dead, or unloyal, she can't.

They flat out stated what to do.

I only saw a couple of "Tali needs help - vote Miranda" posts in their thread. But I was not very thorough.

The plot justification is that she is Tali'Zorah Vas Normandy. What more do you need?

All I did was ask about their thoughts on it, most did not care.

Oh well, it's been done. Everyone deserves to come back.

I find it hard to believe that the LIs will for some reason leave Shepard. The ending of ME2 makes it look like the whole team is ready to go after the Reapers. People have suggested that Tali may become an admiral, but she doesn't want to nor does it make sense if she's exiled.

I also have a hard time believing Garrus will leave...where the **** else is he going to go? He doesn't have any influence over the Turians, he even calls himself a bad one.

I honestly, sincerely don't expect Bioware to turn potentially dead people into squadmates. That's a lot of work and resouces for something not everyone will experience.

So the whole crew in ME2 is a waste...

Yes.  Across every Bioware game with import functions so far, characters who can die, are effectively null in any future games in the series.

Correct me if I'm wrong... but isn't the count on Bioware games with that function is currently set at "1"? One of a trilogy that is as yet incomplete?

I believe Baldur's Gate may have that feature.

Ah, you're right. But Baldur's Gate wasn't a single story.

Also true. I find "potentially dead squad mates" as a bad argument for not spending time on making them return. If anything, considering the whole premise of the game was recruiting squad mates and making sure they're loyal and survive, it seems to make them more likely, especially considering it's the final act. Most people probably had most of their squad mates survive. If they made a mistake, it's very easy to fix it. If they are killing squad mates on purpose, then they should deal with the consequences associated.

Plus I refuse to believe Ashley/Kaiden aren't coming back.

They're going to be back. That's what Bioware said.

It would be nice, but not logical due to space constraints. More than likely they'll get cameos on the Normandy. However, I suspect romancing them will be allowed.

I don't think we need to worry about Garrus, at all. Where else would he go? He did try to do some good on Omega when Shepard was gone, but Garrus knows the big picture is that the Reapers have to be stopped.

Although I would prefer if the entire ME2 crew were more than npc's, I doubt that it is realistic to expect everyone to return as full-fledged squad members. However, I do support the concept that all the LI's return as teammates in ME3 (as long as everyone else has a significant cameo; the brief conversations with Wrex, Liara, and the Virmire survivor were a horrible disservice to fans of said characters).

Plus, Garrus doesn't have any spectacular influence among Turian society. Sure, he helped stop Saren, but in the end he is a former C-sec officer who left Citadel space to become a vigilante; it's not like he can suddenly command the Turian Hierarchy to help Shepard with the reaper invasion.

I didn't think the cameos were that bad, well Wrex and Liara, the virmire survivor was horrible, kaidan insulting me and leaving never to be seen again was pretty disappointing

I'll be really bummed if Mordin gets cameo'd. And cameo'ing Legion seems like such a wasted opportunity for more story.

Exactly. He has no standing within Turian politics whatsoever, and I'm sure that the Turians would criticize Garrus for being the vigilante instead of doing things by the books. Garrus hates red tape anyway.

I'm ok with Mordin getting an important cameo. He could finish the genophage cure (if you saved the data of course), continue to build upgrades for Shepard, and design tech for Shepard to use against the reapers.

However, I do agree about Legion. His line about using Shepard's armor to repair his armor has to be expanded upon in ME3.

I guess the great thing with Legion though is it might not even matter if the mobile platform got destroyed. Another Legion can walk up and continue the conversation, no problem!

Legion's story isn't finished. I'd be sad if he was written out of the story somehow.
