Tali, Garrus, Thane (though he'll probably be dead), Grunt, Miranda, Legion, Mordin, and Samara are the ones I want to see again. Of course, Kaidan/Ashley and Liara as well, though I'm happy to let Wrex lead his people. He's good at it, and we'll need him to rally them under his command for the coming Reaper fight.

It would be a waste of some really good characters not to give them major roles in ME3.

Bioware is smart enough to put them into ME3. They know that if they don't, they'll lose the support of a LOT of their fans, and they don't want that to happen.

Just like how they were smart to put some other favorites from ME1 in ME2. Oh wait...

Wrex and Liara had good reasons, kaiden/ashley was put on hold to make their reunion in ME3 all the better. Tali is potentially exiled, and Garrus has no other friends.

Tali and Garrus are too popular for Bioware to not bring them back. The ****storm that will occur if they aren't brought back will be astronomical. Bioware won't make that mistake.

Erm, no. A lot of people's playthroughs don't even feature Wrex at all, so clearly he's not more important than Ashley and Kaidan.

One person is guaranteed dead between Ash and Kai, the other is guaranteed alive. There is no guaranteed alive person in ME2 among the squadmates.

It really is simple. I've taken to referring to Ash/Kaidan as the collective "Virmire survivor", who is alive in everyone's playthroughs. The VM's situation is not comparable to anyone in the suicide squad, though Samara/Morinth come the closest. But while either Morinth or Samara must die, the other has no guarantee of survival.

Let's say the focus of ME3 is not to build up your squad, once again. Might very well mean a smaller (but better?) pool of squaddies. Would Bioware really waste two, or even more precious slots on people who might not be alive? There is no "Kaidan" for Tali's "Ash" to take her place, should she die in the suicide mission.

The more I read Talimancer postings, the more I get the feeling a lot of them are more "Tali" than "Mass Effect" fans. With serious entitlement issues.

Wrex, Liara, Kaiden/Ashley have good reasons because BioWare chose to write those reasons. My point is that they can do exactly the same with Tali and Garrus for ME3. Apparently, BioWare is not afraid to lose a lot of their fans (like Sereaph claimed) by excluding popular characters from their follow-up game.

It will be really really stupid to take off the characters that are most developed in the process of the game...

I just hope that my male Shep and Tali get their happy ending... after all they gone through. Tali losing her father

and Shepard saving the galaxy... I hope in the ending scene in ME3 those two are in distant planet where it is

safe for Tali to remove her helemt and living together with their baby...

AM I asking too much?

So were Liara and Wrex. They only got cameos in ME2.

LOL!

Bioware took Wrex away. Then they took the ME1 LIs away.

"S#!t storms" followed each occurrence. Guess what? Bioware easily weathered these so-called storms. And now they've sold 2 million units in less than a week. You think a little furry nerd rage is going to scare them?

While I want them in too, you have to admit not putting them in shows that Bioware has the balls to say **** you fans .

They said they were going to wrap everything about Shepard up in #3, so with any luck, we'll have both of them for certain.

You could also say that they'll choose to give those characters mere cameos because it is harder to write story for characters that are so well developed. Tali and Garrus have two games worth of being on the squad. BioWare could potentially do more with characters that haven't been squad members in two games yet.

To be clear, I want nothing more for ME3 to have Tali be a squad member again (Garrus can stay as well).

Guess you didn't think that "wrapping up" can easily mean an email from Tali? Or, if Bioware feels like indulging the loudest and most obnoxious part of the Mass Effect fanbase one final time, a cameo the size or Liara's or Wrex's?

The trilogy is about Shepard. Not about Shepard and Tali. As is easily proved by the fact that she's dead after ME2.

Who has more dialogue and is a bigger part of the story?  Wrex.  People who can die will have bigger roles than people who are guaranteed dead.  The precedence is already there.

Not so in regards to "many people" killing Wrex.  A quick browse of ME1 save games on the web reveals that even Renegades all saved Wrex.  The number of save games to let Wrex die are in the vast minority.  Anyone who let him live, which is the majority of people, renegade or not, see him play a larger role than Ashley or Kaiden.

There's a difference between popular characters and fan favorites.  A recent poll had over 26% of the fans favoring Tali, Garrus was another 15% or so.  Noone is going to alienate 40% of the fan base.  Liara had 17%, Wrex was around 10%.

I totally support this thread. Power to the people and all that.. Hey, if we got the LIs in the last one from showing them our interest, this can only help. I still think it just makes logical sense to include them regardless, however.

Aww, that never occured to me before!! I mean, it registered that he left his life as a C-Sec cop back on the Citadel . . . But on Omega, he really had no one to depend on. And then he built a group of people he could trust, and was probably friends with, and they all got killed.

Poor Garrus! He really needs a hug! (But if Kelly Chambers tries to do it, I'll rip her flirty little head off.)

I don't know if Garrus and Tali will be squadmates in ME3 - I really hope they are - but I'm sure they'll be present in the game. Much more present than Kaidan/Ashley and Liara are in ME2. I mean, sheer force of fanlove got Bioware to reconsider and make them both romances. I doubt they'd suddenly decide to take our love-aliens away.
