How come a lot of people have Samara at the bottom (or near it) on their lists?

I really liked her character; I really enjoyed the conversations with her on the Normandy.

I also loved her appearance. I thought she was gorgeous, which I've seen people disagreeing with as well.

 1. Garrus - He was my favorite in ME1 and he only improved in ME2. Turians are also my favorite of the alien species.

2. Mordin - Hilariously fun to have around, what more can I say. 

3. Legion - I don't know why, I just thought he was awesome. The fact that they made some of the Geth in essence "good" guys was a great idea. 

4. Tali - Another old standby, along with Garrus. Those two are with Shepard through thick and thin. To not have them back for ME3 would be a travesty. 

5. Grunt - Always liked the Krogans. He isn't Wrex, but he had some good moments. 

6. Samara - She's hands down my favorite Asari character design yet. I really  liked her for some reason, and the fact that she is a Justicar - cool name too. 

7. Thane - I've got nothing against Thane, but he's not Garrus. Turians for the win. 

8. Jacob - Got nothing against Jacob either, but he's pretty generic and he's human. Human characters are boring when surrounded by a bunch of cool aliens. I like the unknown. 

9. Jack - I thought her personality contrast was a good addition. Don't particularly like her design, but she is at least unique. 

10. Miranda - She was really irritating at the beginning of the game, but she grew on me towards the end. I don't hate her and she's still a step above Ashley.

1.Thane - Incredibly Awesome, interesting personality and race.



2.Legion - Very interesting, always wanted to see what a Geth squadmate would be like.



3.Mordin - Hilariously funny and interesting back-story.



4.Grunt - Not as good as Wrex but close, still pretty cool.



5.Garrus - My good ol' buddy! Now even more badass and ruthless!



6.Miranda - Sexy thing! But somewhat boring in certain area's.



7.Tali - Didn't do anything for me unlike other Tali fans out there.



8.Samara - I WANT LIARA BACK! This character was quite interesting atleast but very annoying sometimes.



9.Jack - Ugh, too tom-boyish and annoying,



10.Jacob - Regular soldier, too plain.



11.Zaeed - His voice is terribly annoying, he's poorly designed and there's no extra conversation.

Not everyone hates Ashley. I had her as an LI for my ME1 Shepard, but I chose to go to Miranda. Miranda doesn't complain about aliens all the time until you have to talk her down. Her story makes sense of why she's with Ceberus.

I only used a few of the characters on my first playthrough (just finished) so I'm baised towards the characters I used in the game -

The A-Team

1. Thane - Good warrior, great writing

2. Garrus - the Archangel reveal was my favorite moment in the game

3. Grunt - Krogans have such a fantastic backstory, I hope ME3 has a lot more of them

4.  EDI - "That was a joke, Shepherd."  Would have been #1 if I could have unlocked her earlier! 

The 'meh'-Team

4. Jack - loved the voice acting and she looks incredible, but had trouble using her in fights and I kind of felt guilty hooking up with her, she's like a child.  Nearly A-team though

5. Tali - easily my least favorite in ME1 - when did her story become so compelling?? Briliant writing here!

6. Legion - the single coolest idea in ME2, never used him though

7. Samara - felt guilty about getting her killed, never used her

8. Zaeed - who is the voice actor?  I was really impressed, just wished he had more depth

9. Miranda - perfection is boring

10. Jacob - "Jacob, you escort these people to safety - I need somebody expendable to kill off"

11. Mordin - "ENGLISH. DO YOU SPEAK IT?" - the singing was pretty damn funny though

I really liked 7 and up. Jacob's writing was a little...boring. Legion was just kind of there (Infiltrate joke was awesome). Zaeed didn't even have a conversation tree, and Grunt was a horrible character compared to Wrex.

Thane and Garrus are my hubbies, don't make me choose!

[Jonathan Shepard]

1. Legion. Ever since I first saw the N7 on his chest, I was all: "OMGWANT." BioWare gave me what I want. Despite the minor flaws of ME2, this major right made me forget about most of them.

2. Harbinger. No, really. I know he was never fleshed out, but when I realized he was controlling the Collector General and it was still alive when its eyes dimmed... I was all: OMGIGETIT. Two OMG moments. Especially when I realized that the info Shepard gets on Harbinger is probably from the Collector Leader... and you see the fleet? Shivers down the spine. For some reason, this cliffhanger ending did not bother me like Halo 2's. It was rather fulfilling.

3. Thane. I didn't like him at first, but his loyalty mission was quite well thought out. The red and blue police lights you see on the wall near the end made me laugh though.

4. Garrus. Feel bad for the face, man. He didn't deserve that. And I've loved him since the first game.

5. Jacob. I thought he was severely underplayed in importance. He's like a real brother to Shepard. Both in the Alliance military, both don't trust Cerberus, and he's got some poignant dialouge.

6. Samara. She wasn't fleshed out enough, but she had one of the best backstories. The only reason she's behind Jacob is because she isn't romancable-- if you try, she leaves you hangin'.

7. Tali. Never liked her much the first time around. Weakest party member too. But she was much more amusing this time, but I wish she and Legion had more fights. To really flesh things out.

8. Jack. I like her a lot, but her after-suicide-mission dialogue doesn't seem to exist... she never commented on my decision anyway. So this kind of killed her for me... and the lack of clothing was bothersome when facing Krogan and Vorcha.

8. Grunt. He was cool, but I didn't end up using him much anywhere other than Tuchanka, but he's useful against the Geth.

10. Mordin. He was great, but not very useful I found. And he randomly dies sometimes. Which annoys me. But I love his singing.

11. Miranda. What a b*tch.

12. Zaeed. What a d0uch3. But he had a cool backstory at least.
