If you are a blind fanboy, you will say it is 100.
If you actually look at this game objectively, you will say it is a 80.
You are on the wrong forum to be asking whether people like the game or not. This is fanboy central.
Yes it is clearly not possible people enjoy this game more than you did. Not possible at all.

-game lacks emotional connection that ME1 and other bioware games have
-story is well done but your reading it rather then being apart of it
-start and finish are pretty ep[ic, its the middle that got gutted and is very weak
Put it this way, if all you want from your game is a shooter with a story, your going to love this game and give it 10 outta 10
If your looking for a emotional connection to characters that most Bioware fans have come to expect, this game doesnt deliver!
If your some where in between, your going to like combat and story but still feel blah about connection to characters.
Thats the most HONEST reveiw your going to get from anyone.

The combat is the most improvement in the game. But the story falls short of the first one, which is really linear and formulaic. The story is basically the story of how you find all the squad mates and then go to the final battle and that's it. Is the story rich? Yes it's rich. But it feels rather short and undeveloped.
But then this is the stagnation of all Bioware games. They all follow the same pattern.

Exactly my thought. Considering the pre-game-release interview, Bioware emphasised a lot on emotional engaging, it doesn't really deliver. I can hardly feel attached to the story and characters in this game.
As you said, the openning and ending are epic. But the middle part feels really weak and bland.

And what one thing have to do with the other?
I can enjoy a movie and call it rubish, heck I watched Tomb Raider in theaters just to see how bad it could be and let me say, I was not disapointed (it is a terrible movie).
I have my guilty pleasures but objectively I can point out the flaws and even considered it bad, a 80 out of 100 is a high score so why if I enjoy something I have to forget all its flaws ... like Shepard clipping eyeballs OF DOOM! (serious, how the hell that managed to pass Q&A ... oh, EA ) that alone is enough to bring down the score?
And I used for a example a technical flaw, not even mention the "walking on air" that is another flaw (and a more serious one at that), just because I might enjoyed it (and nobody enjoyed the mining mini-game, at least anyone human, so its not as if I enjoyed every single second the game was running) does not mean I have to award the highest score there is.
Imagine if I awarded stars to restarants based on their menu selection? how on Earth can you justify the idea "I enjoyed it =maximun score"?

What the hell are you talking about, the romances in this game are way more developed than ME1.The relationship development and neutral options are gone.
I disagree. The games gives you more people to screw, but that's about it. All the development that took place between starting to flirt with an NPC and "the deed" is either missing or is more mindless flirting instead of building a relationship between missions. In addition, once you do choose a LI, all the other potentials then make you choose them or your current LI. There is no neutral option to continue a friendship. You are faced wtih "I want you" or "Why can't I have all of you?" Consequently the game forces you to be single or come off like a tramp. I don't want either of those options.

I didn't get that sense at all, Frraksurred. I picked Tali, but still flirted with Kelly, told Jack she wasn't half bad, and flirted with Miranda as well. There could have been another conversation or two with Tali, but it didn't seem too short to me... I haven't tried the other relationships though.
To put it simple, the romance part of game works like this:
Talk to a girl nicely > they think you like them > flirt > they assume you will have sex with them > done.
The relationship development in this game(not just this game, actually in all bioware games) is just outright shallow and more of a hoax than real relationship. It's just a lame excuse for you to watch the awkward clothes humping scene.
I mean, seriously, in realy life do you develop relationship with a girl like that? Just by talking to them and they will agree to sleep with you? And foremost, why do they all imply it's sex they are after in the first place?

I know there are a lot of reviews out there, and I'm not going to clutter up the forums with another one. I just want the opinions of those players who have already completed Mass Effect 2 at least once.
IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED THE GAME, I DON'T WANT YOUR OPINION HERE. Post it in the stickied reviews thread.
So for those who have completed the game, what do you think, on a scale of 1-100? Please, only the score and maybe a very short reason why; put your detailed reviews in a thread for that.
I rank ME2 at 95. Great story drew me in, graphics great, negative points took getting used to but weren't so bad in the end.
42.
Afterall, if we're going to use an arbitrary number as a measurement of quality I may as well pick the coolest number.

Choices had virtually no consequences.
They will probably carry into ME3 though.
Fuel?
Citadel = Boring.
They did improve on their weaker points from ME1.
Dialog was more engaging.
Cooler, and more diverse (Legion), squad mates.

You can't objectively rate games. Your argument is invalid.

It's the first shooter (gameplay-wise) that I really enjoyed playing because of the strong RPG elements embedded into it. It's as close as an interactive cinematic experience as the gaming industry was able to provide up to this moment.
Much less buggy than ME1, though no helmet toggle for armors (facial expressions is paramount), and getting stuck in mid-air which is annoying until you're able to unstuck your character.

Yup, as I said in the spoiler section on why people like Tali so much.
Because shes a carry over from the first game and they got to learn about her and got to know her in the first game so the connection carried over.
I romanced Miranda and can honestly say there was literally no connection to be had and the eventual pay off for the romance was not only emotional void but there was no visual pay off either.
You literally slept with her cause she was draw well for the most part.
Cant really tell you if she had a good personality or not, didnt get to explore it at all.

I have never ever had a ending that got my heart beating in anticipation on finding out who dies and lives. Characters have awesome stories and i personally love how everything comes together (in the ending) i have never cared about characters in a video game as much as ME2
Gameplay-95
I really like how combat is much more fast paced, sniping is alot better, and i love how 'heavy' the game feels. If you play ME1 then ME2 you will notice how the way you move, sound, and act in combat makes ME1's combat feel lighter, but in ME2 you actually feel like your character has weight, which added really awesome immersion for me. The only thing i dislike is how quickly you can explore the galaxy. On my second day i have scanned and been to every planet. And I can't get over how small the playable citadel areas are.
Its the best game i've played in along time (since the good old AvP games on the pc)

Outside the general perspective and moving into how well the game itself actually works, they missed a lot of bugs. Major clipping issues on a lot of the models, a bug that flings you near the ceiling with no way down among others... I hope they put out a patch for it to fix those issues.
