I decided to save the lives of the colonists on the planet by blowing up the spaceport, unfortunately I read my log and apparently it reads that I destroyed the colony and let the spaceport survive. I retried it and noticed the same thing, so I tried the third time and mixed it up by destroying the colony. Now the journal tells me that I saved the colony and destroyed the spaceport.

This is a little bit disturbing as I'm trying to do a "perfect" playthrough already. :P

Are you aware that you need to press A or B, not select the choice from the menu? I almost messed that one up myself.

it's a glitch with how they set it up.

when you see your options it'll say "save the colony" but what it really means is "destroy the colony"

The bug is even mixed up on The Illusive Man's Report. If you click "save the spaceport", his report will reflect that, but your journal will say you saved the other. Most frustrating.

The Mission Report lists the opposite result from what's recorded in the Journal. I can't tell which is supposed to reflect the "real" choice that was made.

Could this please get patched at some point? The save-hostages quest with the inconsistent results from ME1 (where the news reports them to be killed even if you saved them) got carried over with the bugged result in 2, it'd be really disappointing to have the same sort of thing happen again if this quest matters in the future.

One of my friends also had Conrad convinced he pulld a gun on him even though he talked him into going home. I suspect several ME1 choices may be glitched on import, so it'd be nice if they could prevent this, going into ME3.

Would explain why the colony was still viable even after it said that if I let the missile hit the space port the colony would be pretty much unsustainable.

I just encountered the same problem. Mission report and quest log contradict each other. Which one is right?

I got the same thing. I chose the option to save the residential area, and in the Illusive Man's report it said something about how "millions of lives were saved" or whatever, but in the journal, it says that the residential area was destroyed and the spaceport survived.

Given similar issues from ME1-to-ME2 importation (e.g. ME2 saying Sirta Foundation is going out of business even though I saved every single scientist in UNC: Besieged Base in ME1), it leaves me to wonder if in ME3 I'll be hearing about a colony that was nuked even though the spaceport was saved. :(

I had the same problem with this mission, it destroyed the colony when I wanted to save it...

I have also had this problem. I hope they can correct this soon.

I got the exact same issue on the PC version of the game, so it's definitely not a "A or B" button mistake.

I chose to save the colony; the animation clearly showed the spaceport screen going blank while the colony screen remained intact. The mission report reflected my choice, but the journal entry says the opposite.

I'd rather not even continue playing until I know for sure which one is right :/

Same result here, playing on PC. Played through mission three times, and then I said screw it for now, I'm just going to continue playing. I will probably be known as the "Butcher of Franklin" in ME3.

it seems that the journal entry is the correct one. I accidently destroyed the colonuy my first go, mision report said the space port was fine. Journal says the colony was saved and I got an email from someone there tanking me. So it would see the journal entry is the saved state.

I didn't look in the quest log but i saved the colony and that's the choice that was reflected in the Mission Report. I even noticed the vid screen on the right(i assume that's the spaceport) go blank so it sounds like it might be the quest log that's bugged.

How long afterward (in terms of doing missions/assignments) did you get the e-mail? I noticed after I did the mission, I didn't have any new e-mail regarding it, but that may have been because I chose to save the city (which my journal then recorded as destroying the city).

It would be nice, regardles of whether this gets patched sometime in the future, if someone from BioWare would confirm which the game actually interprets as your decision.

I went back to a save before I triggered this mission and just didn't do it (trying to avoid spoilers). I'm hoping either a patch or a solution will come from Bioware soon-ish (so it won't delay my finishing of the game). I don't want the destruction of the capital city to follow me to ME3. The fact that there is no Paragon/Renegade reward either way makes me think this mission was not proofread/playtested well or that it was not that important (even by sidequest standards).

Even if Bioware just says, "oops, well we won't reference that one in ME3" that would be fine.

Any chance a dev could enlighten us on the proper way to approach this pre-patch?
