Spoilers
I'm at the collector's ship when you explore it.
I got to the part with the floating platforms part and went to turn off the audio
(Hearing we are harbinger over and over again can really getting annoying,)
Anyway I accidentally changed it to Casual.
As soon as I realized this I quit to the dashboard and started up the game again.
When I did the save started before I had changed it meaning it was still on Insanity.
However the voices were still turned off.
Did I just screw myself this playthrough and have to start over.
Or since I quit out to the dashboard it never saved it so I shoule be fine?
*Changing it to Casual and quitting to the Dashboard was almost instant.
I shot something realized I did way more damage then I should of and quit to the dashboard*
Mass Effect 2 Insanity *Accidentally Changed Difficulty*

You are so screwed. Finish the playthrough anyway, you might unlock it.

I had the exact same thing happen to me I think the game is glitched or does something weird while you are in the collector ship and you change the game settings in there.

No, you'll be fine. In the same room you're in, on Insanity, I got frustrated, and switched to normal, finished that area, and got back to the Normandy. Then, after feeling disappointed in myself, I reloaded a save from before I changed the difficulty, persevered and finished it, and got the Insanity achievement when finishing the game. Just make sure you are loading from a save where Insanity is still set.
