Sorry if this is a stupid question and I may just be remembering the first game wrong--but is there a way to have the game resume when you start or after you die with your most recent save?  I thought that's how the first game worked but in ME2 it always starts with my autosave which is a ridiculously amount older then my manual saves.  It's not a huge deal but slightly annoying having it resume there and then having to load another save up immediately.  I'm not sure why it isn't autosaving more too but it wouldnt matter so much if it would just load up my manual saves.
