Finding Tali's father - I'm female and an only child, but I felt like she was my little sister so I did the paragon hug interrupt. Man, that was sad. The romance scene with Thane was moving. He actually shakes with emotion when he slams his fist into the desk. I was rather impressed (only problem with that romance scene is the fact that the animation seems out of sync with the audio. Thane and his son + Samara and Morinth were also high points - even Miranda and her sister. I warmed up to Miranda after that one. She seems like a good person ultimately.

One that hasn't been mentioned. Tali's recruitment mission where Shepard does a paragon interupt convincing Kal Reegar not to throw his life away. Awesome moment.

At the beginning of legion's loyalty mission, where Legion was explaining why there were no windows and then joker did his impersonation. I laughed so hard i cried.

I lol'ed just now when I remembered that happening, that's hilarious hahaha.

You guys are reminding me of some of the greatest moments, especially the one where the Quarian mother is leaving a message for her children. So depressing...Thinking back, it reminds me of finding the engineers logs on the Asteroid in Bring Down the Sky.

Thane...Thane's whole story is incredibly depressing but...Man.

Every moment with him hit me hard. When he referred to Shepard as his friend, I felt geuninely accomplished. It's incredible.

I've never, ever felt so attached to any game's characters before.

One of my absolutely favorite moments in ME2, though, was drinking with Dr. Chakwas! Being able to party with her and see her let loose and be less professional was absolutely amazing.

Edit: EVERY family moment was really intense in ME2, as AtreiyaN7 pointed out.

Thane and his son was incredible, and seeing Miranda stare at her sister and her sister's family was depressing...seeing Samara kill Morinth was...I mean seeing the two of them fight each other while Morinth was doing what was as close to begging for her life as she has ever come.

My Shepard has aided in the destruction of Reapers, saved the galaxy, fought in the Skyllian Blitz, saved countless lives, and done the impossible...but seeing Samara and Morinth fight...I've never felt so helpless in ME2 before.

Seeing the Reapers mobilize is the only moment that tops my "Oh ****...I'm going to go hide in a corner and engage Tactical Cloak" list, just above seeing Samara and Morinth duel and yell at each other.

Finding tali's father totally wanted to hug tali in person, when shpard flys into space with joker in the escape pod screaming "SHEPARD!", when miranda sees her sister and just looks at the ground can't tell if she's crying or not, when you go to renew the contract with that women on illium and you learn her daughters died in the citadel attack and her mate died somewhere else and she just sits down crying, when garrus gets part of his face blown off i sat on the edge of my seat thinking "that did not just happen", when garrus talks to you before killing sidonis, thane and his son, so many more this is the one game i have played in a while that just hits you in the heart and makes you want to cry.

Shepard walking in her own cabin just before punching through the Omega 4 relay and taking her time to watch Liara's picture on her desk. A really nice touch Bioware.

The final scene in the game, when you're trying to escape, while "The End Run" is going in the background. Probably the best piece of music in the entire game. You have no idea how crazy I went when everyone came through okay.

I went crazy too. That entire mission I had adrenaline going through me. My hands were shaking like FPS Doug, but I was still shooting and still getting those headshots.

Morten's loyalty mission deserves another mention. The part that got me was when you find the captured scout, and he explains that he's been the subject of experiments, and you say, "Ok, you can go."

And he says, "No. I need to stay. I'm helping cure the genophage."

And the entire final mission was an emotional rollercoaster, not knowing if anyone would live or die. (Although it was silly to have Shepherd pull up Grunt, who must weigh a ton in his armor. I rationalize that Shepherd, an adept, used a little biotic help.)

Although the most emotional for me was my decision to leave Ashley behind. I completely forgave Ash for Horizon and appreciated the email. But...I liked Miranda's sidequest a lot, and I suppose I'm a sucker for an ice queen melting (Miranda's line about how, given her genetic enhancement, she never felt like anything she accomplished was actually HERS really got me.) I held out all the way to the Collector Ship mission when she was knocked on the ground and I was worried. It still broke my heart to turn Ash's photo in the captain's cabin down.

the most emotional moment....just now i went into my cabin to find all my fish had died! Image IPB
Honestly it hit me alot harder than i'd have thought it would have. A great testement to bioware's ability to create a universe that you can become so emotionally engaged in that even something as small as that can effect you.

edit: wait! maybe it was the collector's..the collector's killed my fish!.....ok, now it's personal. Image IPB

Watching the Normandy crew be captured and then the empty ship. I felt ill, because I realized Bioware was forcing me into a choice: I hadn't done all the missions or upgrading I wanted to do to be ready, but it was either go now and get my crew or go later and see them gone. For better or worse, in I went.

It made it turning out "for better" a very, very, very exhilirating and gratifying sense of elation.

Same thing happened to me -- contributing to the loss of three team members, but still it was the right thing to do.

For me, it was seeing the Collector 'boss' which Harbinger controlled. When Harbinger released his control, it somehow seemed that his Prothean mind was coming back, wondering how the hell he/they let things go this bad, and in another way like he was glad the torture was finally over.

It somehow resonated with me...

I never felt a thing from this game. I never felt sad.
I certainly got a few giggles from punching the reporter and watching the Asari tell me off and then suddenly reduces to tears.

The ending where Shep's ship crashes and everyone starts leaving, the music made it sound badass. Apart from that no tears, guilt or any other emotion except laughter watching others suffer in the game.

Anyone else thought it was funny when the Batarian infected by the plague throws a few insults at you then dies pathetically?

My most emotional moment was right at the start, where I walk out into the cealingless Normandy, and a chair bumps into my helmet and scratch the visor of it. That helmet was useless after that. After that I had to use those damn armors that you couldn't remove the helmet from. A very sad moment! That halmet had been through so much only to fail right at the start of my next great adventure.

When Thane died for me on the last mission... I picked him to go into the vents because I thought that was the most dangerous task and, since he was dying, it wouldn't matter if he did die in the mission.
Then he got out of the tunnle, opend the door, I thought "yay! he didn't die!"... I was happy. Then the freaking door jamms and he gets shot in the head... damn this game and it's mind games!

Meeting Ash again, then her rejecting me... that also hit me hard, Ash was my LI in ME1 :(
