Hey all,
Since I've wasted almost an entire day trying to patch to 1.02a, with no success thanks to that blasted Error 36 (and no amount of reinstalling, CCleaner, Safe Mode and so forth helped...), I'm considering the possibility of attempting to patch the game manually. For this, my plan consists of getting the full list of files modified by patch 1.02a and then simply asking a friend of mine who has the patched version to send them to me.
Then I'd simply replace the files in my own installation and it would hopefully work.
My question is, then... does anyone have the full list of changed files on the latest patch?
Manual Patching?

Ok, finally managed to do it a few hours ago. Installed in my XP partition to make sure it was "clean", but the patch still failed. Entered Safe Mode and, unlike what happened when I tried safe mode in win7, it finally worked. Then I copied the changed files over to my win7 installation folder and it worked perfectly.
Unfortunately, I'm now going to be out of town until Saturday, but once I get back I'll be sure to post a list of all the files actually changed while patching. I'm hoping this will be useful to other people who can't manage to install the patch on their gaming rig but are able to do it on another computer, or have a friend who has managed to patch and is willing to send them the files.
