Why in god's name would anyone find Thane attractive?

I happen to think Thane is downright sexy; he's got a hot voice, gravelly and masculine with a touch of honey that keeps it smooth and resonant. His speech is eloquent; to the point, but intelligent, introspective. He has a matured air to him. He carries himself with professional confidence, he's good at what he does and he does it well. He's efficient. He's quick.
His outfit? Awesome. I love the aesthetic, the contoured lines that highlight musculature and play along with the balance of his greater design -- he looks sleek, tight, coiled but at ease. And I like leather.
He's got smooth, speckled scales and exotic stripes as well as numerous textures that are just fascinating to observe. He has gorgeous lips and a charming smile as well as dark eyes that are fathomless and as friendly as they are alien. The interconnecting plates of his face and cranium are lovely artistic touches -- very elegant, almost sculpted, and I love how the pattern sweeps down his neck behind his collar. The balance is amazing -- the dark mark under his lip plays off the darker scale of his forehead (a "spiritual third eye" if you will) and the gradating sweep of his eyes. It's a perfect proportion. It's symmetry.
He's like a fine spice. Maybe you catch a whiff of it and you crinkle your nose at first because it's unusual and not something you've ever tried before, but it grows on you and suddenly it's a scent you can lose yourself in because it has memories and this heart-warming familiarity to it that draws you without compromising its exotic nature.
TL;DR: "He's the strong, sensitive, murdering type. Those are always good to have around. Great cuddler."
There is nothing I can say that will ever convert you or anyone else. No epiphany, no hanar hallelujah chorus revelation. You don't understand the attraction? Cool. I don't understand how you don't. Now we are even.
^^^^ All that. Excellent description, by the way. Never in a game have I found a NPC as...awesome...as Thane. I've played ME2 twice now, and both characters (one a new character and the second an import who had hooked up with Kaidan) have gone for Thane. Kaidan has nothing on this man and is naught but an overemotional, tantrum-throwing child when compared to Thane. Honestly, given Kaidan's reaction on Horizon, I wish there had been an interrupt to kick him in the groin. If Garrus and Tali can trust Shepard's judgment to work with Cerberus, then Kaidan - after their supposed "romance" - should have definitely given her the benefit of the doubt. What an ass.Anyway, back to topic...
Garrus, while adorable in his goofy way, simply lacks the aura that Thane has. And Jacob? Bah. My Shepard would go drinking with him and help him, in a big sister fashion, find a girl to pick up. The only ME male character who has come close to being as incredible as Thane is Lorik "Mr. Don't Get Blood on My Carpet" Qui'in, and even he pales sadly in comparison. Now if BioWare can just let Shepard find a cure to that damned disease. The thought of Thane dying pisses me off!

I suppose I haven't worded my point too well, let me put it this way.
Thane looks like a cosplayer. He doesn't look alien to me at all. He looks like a dork trying to be an alien fish man and failing miserably. I just call him a fish to articulate what I think of him, not that I think he's an actual fish.
As for Garrus. I for one like scars. No I'm not Krogan.
You know what? I'm in the same boat. Think Garrus is sexy and Thane, while an interesting character, doesn't do it for me. I still think Thane looks cool, but I don't find him physically attractive.
It's probably the neck hood thing for me, but you know what? To each their own. I find a space raptor man attractive, others can find a space lizard man attractive. Shepard is pimp enough to pull that off

Also, drell are more reptilian than anything like fish. That's why Thane asks for an arid place to sleep, he's a snake man.

Then again, Garrus's more Alpha male, bit of rough character is also kinda appealing.
I wouldn't mind having a bit of man sex with the both of them. And how can you associate him with a fish when he can't live in environments with too much water O_O

I did flirt with Shale a bit. Shale was unimpressed.
Shot me down.
Thought I was teasing.

Well, she did leave on a quest to become a dwarf again, so who knows, maybe you boys will get lucky with her yet.
