How goes it forumers...lookin for some info about whats taken into account when importing a charachter.  ...and i know the basics, but im about to ask 2 very perticular questions:

Alright...so i deleted all my old ME1 save files in order to create 2 new characters that i knew exactly what happened with.  Only problem is that im finishing up my first playthrough for my first new character and I doubt he'll reach lvl 60...which i realize importing a lvl 60 char. into ME2 grants a certain bonus...a bonus i'd like to have.  SO, im likely going to have to playthrough again...something i wasn't lookin forward to, but hey...at least i can unlock the hardcore acheivement.  Only thing is, in the first playthrough i hit absolutley every single quest/planet/person/thing i could so that it would trigger any and every possible story uniqueness in ME2.  Since im going to re-import my char. into ME1 to hit lvl 60, if i want to make sure i have that same uniqueness, will i then have to complete every little thing in my upcoming playthrough?

Then, with that said and assuming the answer is 'yes', - and please as spoiler-free as you can answer (a simple 'yes' or 'no' would do nicely) does it matter?  What i mean by that is, will it matter if i took part in the scanning of the Keepers on the Citadel?  Will it matter if i kill or let live Helena Blake, the crime lord?  Will it matter if i mold Garrus (assuming he makes a notable appearance in ME2) into a paragon garrus or a renegade garrus?  Now i could keep asking but i hope you get the picture...if you are answering yes to any of these Q's then 'yes', it does matter.  One other thing that i'd like to know, and hopefully avoid, is whether or not its necessary to do all the silly hunter/gatherer mission...metals, matriarch writings, turian insignias, prothean datadiscs, etc....do these sorts of missions have any  impact on ME2...or otherwise, is there a special instance that you could experience in ME2 only if you completed every mission available to you in ME1?

Sorry for writing so much and TIA for helpful, spoil-free answers...

If you're running the PC version of ME1, you could just use the cheats to boost your XP to level 60.

But going by your original scenario, yes, I would assume you would have to redo everything in your second playthrough; all assignments, all planets, all scans etc.

Does it matter? Not that much, according to what I've heard. (Mind you, I haven't started ME2 yet. I'm still on my 2nd of 4 playthroughs of ME1!) Some people you've saved or helped in ME1 will show up again in ME2, but it seems to be restricted to just some extra conversations. If you're level 60, you'll get a significant bonus on starting, and I've heard that completing the various collection quests will also give you a boost to your starting credits and resources in ME2, but very little else has a really deep impact.

Of course, the choice of your romance partner in ME1 carries over to ME2, and if you stay faithful to them throughout ME2, there's hints that things will continue in ME3.

The difference between hitting 50 & 60 is only starting at level 3-5 in ME2 & getting a bit more starting money & resources. Not a big deal. Also, bonus paragon/renegade points, dependent upon how high your bars were. The other choices flesh out the story a lot more. I would recommend just importing what you've already got.
