Severe FPS drop through out the game. For some reason during certain parts (that aren't even that graphically heavy) I'll encounter a big dip in FPS.

Using the intro as a benchmark, I first notice it when the scene shows the Illusive Man's hand flicking his cigarette. Then again as Miranda walks towards him (through the holographic projections).

I'm using the latest drivers and software

.I downloaded an EVGA Mass Effect profile fix which made a noticable difference, but this performance is still not acceptable, especially for a cross-platform game. The fix however allowed anti-aliasing too but regardless of the settings I still get the slow down.

Specifications:
-Processor: Intel Core i7 920 @ 3.0Ghz
-Motherboard: Gigabyte X58-UD5P
-Video Cards: GeForce GTX 285 SLI (factory overclocked)
-Sound Card: Creative X-Fi Titanium
-Memory: Corsair XMS2 DDR3 1600
-Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

Cheers.

I think in your case it may be a setting in bios that needs to be changed. Go to the MB Intelligent Tweaker screen. I forgot which option but it was set to "Auto (overclock)" and I changed it to "Standard".

Of all the UE3 games this has been the only one I've seen that was adversely affected by default bios settings.

There's a glitch with both SLI and AA enabled right now. You get better performance with SLI off and AA on (use one of the mega AA modes like SLI32X to take advantage of your other card at least), or SLI on and no AA set. Your FPS might not hit the same highs but it won't get those annoying lows either.
