What is your party composition?
What tactics are you using?
When you went through the Fade, did you get all the attribute bonuses?

bonus... I think so, i did get alot of it.
Now I am rogue, and 2 mage and one warrior.
And I am using game default tacticts.
And I am not sure what tactics I am going to do on this dude (Uldred)

Yes, I just killed him at level 8 so it is doable, if it is getting too hard the may I suggest lowering the difficulty level? I had to micro-manage the hell out of that battle, Leiliana did most of the damage while I tanked Uldred. I also had Alistair take the heat off of me with the other abominations and had him help me out when I was in a tight spot. Wynne was in the back keeping everyong alive, lol, even so by the end of the battle my health potions were just about gone along with my lyrium potions. So yes, it is a rather tough battle, but that is why it is the last battle of the circle quest line.

Shouldn't this be in the Spoiler Section?

Not sure, but many are confused about the registering the game code requirement in order to post in there. I wish they could lift that requirement since it is funneling a lot of those questions to the general forums.

Some of the registering problem is the language- it's described as a UCC code or something, I presume a common term in the US but not in the UK at least, where it is called a barcode.

Tank him and when he says something use the litany.
It's not that hard really.

The Litany is really the key--go grab it from the corpse of the mage in the Sloth Demon's room if you don't have it. With the Litany the fight is pretty easy.

Litany, Litany, Litany. When a glowing ring appears around him and a mage (and he usually says something along with one of your party member's, too), use it immediately. 5-second cooldown and one time, I almost didn't make it because I had delayed hitting it previously and the cooldown wasn't finished.

Also, the litany does 20 or so damage to him if you activate it while you stand near him. Another thing to note is that if you place a shortcut to the litany on all your characters quick-bars, they cool-down separately.

Just killed him now.
Even on normal difficulty is hell on earth...
The littany stopped his attempts of summoning underlings. Just use it when he says something. Other than that have Wynn using cure and attacking when possible too. I think he have low magical defense, sometimes she attacked and caused more damage than my main alone... and he can dispatch a small mob alone.
Didn't now the littany caused damage too... Perhaps I use this tip on my next play.

Every character can use the Litany, I got both Alistair and Wynne to use it. Except Dog. Just don't spam it. Hit it with one, wait till he hits another mage, then hit the Litany with another character. I was level 8 or 9.

I am having trouble with Uldred to. I have a character be a rabbit and let the rest of my party arrow spam. My character is a warrior and sten, allistair and wynne are in the party.

Hmm... I play all female, Hard and Nightmare, and Uldred was extremely easy, always. Perhaps melee warriors have a tougher time? Not sure, but maybe, since I play ranged combat party and PC.

What was your strategy? I tried on easy and it would take forever for Uldred's health to go down as he chased after my character as my party members arrow spammed him.

It's a very easy fight and it's scaled to level so yes you can do it at 8. It's usually my first or second stop.

It's usually my first stop, and I'm usually level 8 when I get to him. This time with Wynne, Morrigan, Alistair as tank and myself as a dwarf rogue.
One nice thing about dwarves is that they can sometimes be immune to magic attacks. Didn't know that. This is my last race to play through with. It helps. But I ended up stabbing him to death from behind while he tried to go after Alistair. Ali taunts, I get behind and stab, stab, stab! Oh, and then there's the litany. Any mage can use it. So I use it, then In a few seconds, I let Wynne use it, then in a few more seconds I let Morrigan use it, and round and round, so that basically the Litany is always active and he can't even think about creating another abomination. Somehow, if it's on cooldown and you're the only one using it, it seems like he gets off another abomination that way. So now I get main pc and any other mages all doing it. Since someone here says it damages him too...
Otherwise I just let Wynne heal buff, heal, buff, you know. Morrigan does damage. i didn't have trouble with him this time, but I have to confess, it's about the 6th time I've done him now.

So the litany can only be used by a mage? I will try that because when my warrior used it all it did was stun the abominations and prevent Uldred from making more.

According to Wynne, if you stop and talk to her about it before you get up there, ask her "what do you know about the Litany" and she'll tell you who wrote it and why, and then say "but it's just a spell, like any other spell, and any mage should be able to cast it."
Now, I know my main char can use it, but I had problems in early games, which is why I started having my mages use it. However, even with my rogue, when I select it, it shows me using a "special power" or some such. I don't bother Alistair or tank with it. He's busy.
