"There is one weapon that is not affected by dexterity at this point is the dagger, it gets +1.0 damage from Strength instead of 0.5 from Strength and 0.5 from Dex."

"On a dagger (and believe me, daggers don't really cut it in mid-endgame due to their limited attribute modifier potential), the impact in early game is actually not that much. Not enough to even notice in fact."

Wow, thanks Bioware for completely killing my dual-dagger wielding rogue. It seems that I'm going to be stuck doing 16 backstab dmg for the rest of the game. Apparently the thought of actually adding some late game gear didn't occur to you.

I'm guessing we're going to get the privilege of purchasing another $7 DLC in a few months that adds what should already be in the game? Gee, thanks. :?

Ya its called RTO which gives you a sweet dagger that could carry you through end game. But hey we already paid 5 bucks for a storage chest so why stop there? And all you gotta do is sit through an edited version of the tower mission after you become a warden. Complete with the same cutscenes. Can't you feel the love...for your money?

Okay I read through dozens of post and i'm confused about something maybe someone can clarify.

If you use Lethality, it uses Cunning as the strength modifier, so does that mean you get 0.5 dmg as well? or in this case +1 dmg because of the bug? Another thing thing, so pretty much dexterity is rendered nearly useless because you HAVE to get it for your weapon skills but it won't contribute to your base dmg eh?

Bug is fixed if you patch 1.02

You get 1 dmg from Cunning with Lethality, 0.5 if you have the patch 1.02

I would expect BW to fix what has already been released BEFORE adding more content.  It just simply does not make sense to create more DLC and a retail expansion before fixing the core product (day one DLC aside).  I can understand fixing the achievemnets first simply because it is probably an easier fix, but why are they just getting to it now, month's after release?  Fix the dex bug, fix the save/vender glitch, fix everything so it is as intended on release day THEN give us more fun stuff to play with.

Why would you upgrade your car stereo (READ: DLC) if the damn car has a leaky tire that could blow any minute (READ: vender/save glitch) and the transmission is stuck (READ: DEX bug)?

1. Bug is fixed as of 1.02.
2. People who work on fixing bugs are not the same as the people who work on new content.

In summary stop whining about bugs that have already been fixed, and stop making assumptions about how software should be developed when you know nothing about software developement.

Agreed! grab 1.02 and make a DEX/CUN rogue, get lethality, and see who in your party will kill the most people.

As was said, this thread is old and outdated for quite some time.

The "Dex bug" was that when using daggers you got +0.85 damage for each point invested in Str (or Cun with Lethality) This was inconsistent with the description of the Dex attribute.

Now you get +0.425 damage for each point invested in either Dex or Str/Cun, overall better for a Dex built

I kind of paniced when I saw the Bioware post. Then I read the end of the thread.

Two questions:
1.  Was this ever an issue for the 360 version?  If not, I appologize for my post as it pertains to the DEX bug.
2.  As far as I know there has not been a "patch" (READ: title update) for the 360 version with the exception of the bad title update that was released and then pulled on January 13th.  Is this true?

And in responce to your point #2:
I am fully aware there are teams who work on different aspects of the game/games.  There's a patch team, DLC team, DA:O team, ME2 team, Xbox team, PS3 team, PC team, etc.  So I understand that new DLC and/or games doesn't take away resourse for patches and bug fixes.  A subject I never brought up in my original post.  So I'm not sure why you're bring it up now.  However, doesn't it still make sense to fix what is broken before adding more content?  Doesn't adding more content compound the problem for the patch team beacuse now they have X amount of additional content/code to work with and test the patch against?

Lastly, since I didn't see the BioWare icon on your post I'm going to assume you don't work for BioWare either and therefore you're making just as many assumptions about how BioWare does/should do things.  These are my opinions and your summery isn't going to make me STFU.  If your ego demands you come down on me for my opinion and whine about my whining, then so be it.  Am I to assume you work in software developement and that this somehow gives you the advanced knowledge nessesary to comment on this forum and make the baseless claim that I should STFU because I must not work in software developement?  Even if all that were true, you do not work for Bioware, so it makes your comments no more important than mine or anyone else.  I thank you for the info on patch 1.02 and the info about teams, but your summary you can shuve up your ass.  It was enough to address my concern's.  There's no reason to belittle me or anyone else in the process.

1. Correction it still is an issue for the 360. Bows don't do jack for damage.

2. Yes you are correct as of Jan 22 there still hasn't been a single update for the 360 version other than the bad one. And that update was only to fix the DLC achievements that didn't work due to MS not updating their servers. Nothing more.

And no it doesn't make sense. They don't make money on patches. They already got our money why would they worry about fixing it now? That seems to be the philosophy they have adopted. When you get time go take a look at the 360 tech board and see all the love we 360 owners get. They didn't even have the courtesy to put the update problem on that board. They have been to worried about all the offended people going on about RTO to even simply copy and paste the announcement that was here. Hell we can't even get an announcement about our problems without the RTO delay being mentioned at the same time. I'm just glad to be so high on thier priority list.
