And what about those of us who run the game on a larger scale? Our gaming lab has 12 copies, however with the bulk order we are only given 1 registration code (as its 12 disks, 1 case) Now... at current we use the social site achievement system to update our internal network "ranking" system.. All of the use is perfectly legal and applies to all T&C, yet your suggestion would essentially break the achievements system for all but 1 copy.

This is the same for any educational, large stores and entertainment locations that purches the game on a larger bulk scale. There is no other work around to this as to allow the customer/student/user to use there own accounts leads to liability with data protection due to the company then being required to sort out some process of monitoring and safely securing any user inputted data (included there EA account passwords). Simply clicking "do not save my details" isnt enough by law.

In a related issue, this sort of suggestion wouldn't cut down on the amount of pirated games since there is already Many registration keys for DA:O online, taken from game cases by shop staff before they are put on the shelves.

This could be resolved via a process between EA/Bioware and the institution which would grant the ability to run an internal server for this functionality, removing said institution from dependance on the social site altogether.

I also had the thought that, with regards to non-registered users, there are people out there who are not comfortabble registering software. But then, it is likely that those same people would not be interested in the functionality being denied to them by this idea anyway.

I don't know how things are in your lab, but then shouldn't EA had sent 12 registration codes to you? Even if they dont/won't, the thing is that you have the Stone Prisoner right (not a used copy)? Or the Blood Armor or some kind of DLC? Then even if you are sharing the same account on all those computers the DLC is registered in the account.

But the thing is that there are people out here that have the DLC, the Achievements that come with it and yet they don't have the DLC registered in their accounts. How could this be? The answer is simple: piracy of the DLCs.

I have seen users that don't have the game registered in their account and their characters are being updated. It's my idea (and very possibly real) that some of those users are using pirated copies of the game, so i suggest that a player profile is not updated for those users that don't have the game registered in their account just like they can't post in some forums here.

Also I believe that those pirates are a burden on the servers here, and are possibly making things slower for legitimate users.

This!  Non-registered users can still use forums or browse profiles/projects/etc. but their character pages would not update until registered.

this post may have been started over 2 months ago but when you think you know right off the bat that such an answer is due to piracy, I have news for you Mr. Helper,  like when, um, I buy the fresh off the shelf game and somehow have the issue as well, rethink your ego regarding those seeking help and those like myself who bought the game registered, used the codes, have a profile, shows my promo's i've unlocked, yet I have no registered game in my account.  Amazing stuff.

if you need "proof" i'll gladly send the associated emails when i registered the game but, oops lost in the digital world, and things are not syncing regardless of the autoresponse: welcome email for "registering", the bologna regarding a great place to get exclusive info/forums/and character updates with lots of links with my unique ID link to the profile & then a link showing each of bioware and EA showing I own the game, yet cooperatively, its somehow my problem to deal with.  Its called the last game on earth someone would recommend as RPG of the year.  Its a lack of quality RPG's this year.

Wasn't Fable 2 so much easier with the combo site and console?  But thats all overlooked to ensure this game is fresh in the peoples minds come voting time just before the years out.  (sounds familiar to another industry)  Its the typical newsbroadcast assuming the problem associated with lack of sales is piracy when frankly no one leaves the beltway to do some real research to see whats going on like this debockle.  And the tutorials to "fix" what should have been found prior to release.  Don't cut corners and sell 80 dollar versions/60 dollar versions and expect at least me to ly down and say okay, sure i'll drop another dime on this.  Plus read users who I find similar to me yet the only stamp used is a fake version.  Believe me, you need to bark up another tree as this post you placed has only enraged me to forward the posts from the games help site which bioware is allowing to run and label legit buyers with unbelievable problems in their game when the default response is a pirate.

So I hope you sir are ready to back up your claim because i'm pinning you as the example.  "my games" I show no games, yet i have my game registered.  interesting how messed up this bioware and the greed attached to DLC makes problems that much more difficult to solve.

Mh. I was browsing through the character list and I'd say that half or at least a third of the characters aren't updated at all considering the missing portraits. I have created (mostly for fun) 7-8 characters of which 2 don't update at all. Nevertheless you see the correct background of the portrait but not the face itself.

I also get frequent time-out messages. But when I look I still get the indication that I am logged on.

When going to the player profile diagnostic I get this error message:

Unable to connect to the on-line storage server.

BTW: that's a message I get also while playing ...

My wife purchased the game online, downloaded it, installed it, and registered the game all online, and my first characters posted, then NOTHING. Is this just an ongoing issue?
