So using expensive HDMI cables will not make a difference to framerates or quality.
EDIT: Just to add, if your HDMI cable is not 1.3 spec then that would cause slower transfer rates, however almost all HDMI cables you buy now are 1.3c complient (due to 1080p needing more bandwidth), transferring at 10.2GB/s and are still under a tenner.

And for it not being a widespread issue we'll have to wait and see. Not every PS3 owner that has this game is on these forums so not everyone is spoken for. By what I can tell there are alot of different experiences about this. Some have small stutters every so often. Some have major stalls. On a PC it's sorta expected things like this can happen, and it's never resolved since people **** about PC Rigs and blame it on them. On a console this never should happen. The issue for me is getting more and more serious with more saves I make. That's how I catalog them anyhow. How many between each save.
It feels it's more of an issue with how the engine prioritizes the graphical data. Not sure what the wording for it is but I'll try with an example.
You're in a room with a door at one wall open. You're at the back wall looking through the door. The engine renders everything in the room and partly what is outside the room right? When you start walking towards the doorway more of outside is rendered to prepare for when you step out, the AIs for the mos outside start to render <-- and that's where most my issues are. The transitions between areas where a large portion of the game area is not visible and then moving to visible, and when the AI kicks in. That's what to me feels is the issue. Game not preparing everything correctly before hand.
I've not bothered ranting about the constant lag in certain areas like OZ since it's no problem, nothing major is happening there fore it to be interfering. That's the only thing I can think of, if you can think of a better explanation then I know I won't be the only one pleased to hear it.

Of course it is. Open your eyes. Every review has mentioned the horrible frame rates.Ancientonez wrote...

Perception is the reason some people think their game runs fine.

I DID NOT ASK IF THE ISSUE WAS THE MECHANICS OF THE GAME NOR IS IT THE GAME ITSELF, I ASKED IF IT IS BEING ADDRESSED.
Oh yea, NOTICE THE ****ING HALF A MONTH THEY TOOK TO ANSWER WITH A ****TY RESPONSE.

actually half the responses have been they don't have framrate issues if you start from page one and work accross. Maybe not exactly half but close to. I'm not saying this isn't an issue that should be addressed cause quite frankly I think it should but from observing the game, it seems the game required a very large data output from the ps3 to the TV which causes the ps3 to heat up quicker than any other ps3 game I have ever played. Take note though I do not have a framerate issue.
I'm still waiting for Aelor to try out what we asked him to do 3 days ago rofl!

When an hdmi cable don't support the bandwidth for an high resolution or for surround sound, the ps3 automatically switch to lower resolution or the data aren't transferred (no output on screen). there's no loss of signal quality with digital cable. It's not the same as analog cable where the kind and quality of the cable play a big role in image quality: sharpness and colour mostly but don't affect framerate at all.

Yea, but the game drops below 20 or to 15FPS very very frequently, trust me, I can tell at that point.
