1) Is your game NTSC or PAL? PAL
2) Has anyone noticed these framerate issues when playing on 480p or lower? Yes
3) Did lowering from 720p to 480p make a noticable performacne difference.
If so, approximately how noticable was the difference? No immediate difference in preformance.
4) Does turning off networking options in the Options Menu make a noticable difference? No, no noticable difference.
5) What is your PS3 firmware version? 2.70 is the minimum required/supported version but newer versions may affect performance. My PS3 is at version 3.15
6) How much hard drive space is left on your console? 80Gb model with the original hard drive/ 40Gb gigs left.
7)How long after you start playing does it take for the framerate issues
to occur or do they occur immediately after a load/new game? The frame rate happens variabally throughout the game but it is consistantly noticable. This occurs with a new game or when the game is loaded, almost immediate in all areas. It seems more in areas with higher graphical content or number of enemies but this coupled with the camera stutter makes definetly takes away from the game expereince.
8) Does your TV natively support the options selected on the console for video and sound? Yes
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Other things I have tried
Turning down / off all options and internet - This does not change difference in preformance.
Tired the game in several other PS3's - No preformance change.
Sutterting - Can be recreated by going to camp and encircle, walking slowly around leliana while panning the camera around slowly and you will see stutter. This happens not just in this area but throughout the entire game.
Reduced the TV scale to 720p (the games resoloution) - This produced no increase in preformance.
PS3 Settings - I have tried and tested PS3 settings (Video, Audio) - This also does not change the preformance.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion
Either a problem in the games code, or the PS3 System cannot handle the information being processed as the longer the game is played memory leaks become apparent, diolouge is dropped and errors crop up etc
There also seems to be a camera pan stutter which again most likey is either the PS3 unable to process quickly enough the amount of information or a problem that could be resolved in the code.
Those are the two major issues at the moment everyone seems to be having!

It has been some time since bioware has posted so please if you are reading this, provide us with an update if you could to keep the community informed it would be much appreciated!

7)How long after you start playing does it take for the framerate issues
to occur or do they occur immediately after a load/new game? I saw it the first time on the opening movie of the game, a slight stutter when rendering the camera panning the outer castle walls. It has been with me ever since.

However, i am a stickler for keeping my PS3 as clean as possible, including running a lens cleaner every 10 hours or so. That might be the reason.

I will not buy this game for the PS3 nor the expansions.
I feel abandoned; I've waited for this game for years - I've stood by your side and waited only to be let down without a sign of hope.

Whoa, I thought I was upset.. Somebody please fix this game! This dude shouldn't have to suffer anymore.LordBlaise wrote...
I'm very disappointed with the frame rates. I held Bioware up with the best of them; but after seeing their response to their customers they don't par with them anymore. Bioware remember your honor and your standing.

I haven't had any issues whatsoever on my PS3 as of yet regarding framerate issues. :innocent:

If what you say is true 21121313 then it would be good advice for anyone here (a handful of us give or take) to try the lense cleaner and see if it improves preformance. Once I've tried it I'll post back here with results. If a few try it then it will only work to verify that it makes a difference.

Nonsense. It is 100% BioWare's responsibility. I don't care which subcontractors BioWare has used. It is BioWare's responsibility to see to it that subconstractors deliver what they were supposed to.

A company or developer being 'too busy' is hardly enough of an excuse for poor products and lack of customer feedback.ioannisdenton wrote...

The only major frame rate issues I have had have been in a few of the larger battles e.g. at the landsmeet or during the final battle, aswell as a few random encounters. This was in the form of the screen freezing know and then for round about 10-20 seconds.
I am using the pal version.
Turning off the settings and networking didn't really help (probably because of the error only occuring randomly.)
I am using the 80/74 gb ps3 model and I have 21 gb left.
Hopefully this helps even if it is a tad of thread necroing.

Ostagar better come out soon so I can decide whether or not to sell this game. Ostagar comes out and no patch: gone. If there's a patch, they will get a nice little thank you note from me that reads "It's about #$%ing time."

if you also check the video http://www.gamespot....eo/6238377?hd=1 here it shows the frame rate LIKE in my ps3.
This is a perfect example of the poor framerate. My guess is that all the people not complaining about it can live with or dont even notice it.
This is what I see too. It's chunky even though my PS3 is brand new (SLIM, bought shortly after christmas). My tv is only one year old; flatsceen LG with basically all the latest modifications. I too use HDMI and have the system set for best possible ... resolution? I am not familiar with the terms these days.
But I can compare with Assassin's Creed 2, as I did 2 posts up, and the difference is huge.
