All the time. I still can't believe some people don't notice that.

opening cutscene to the game.  every other cutscene in the game.  usually battles that involve a lot of enemies.  usually when you rotate the camera.

in the case of the cutscenes, you'll notice about a half second stutter every couple of seconds.

That's because for some people (like me) it isn't there. How can you notice something that doesn't exist?

I have no interest in arguing with you. Maybe you're lucky enough not to recognize the difference between 20 and 30 FPS, but I and lots of others do.

Bathead, please share with us the set-up you are using.

Are you using a Ps3? Are you using HDMI connections? What kind of television are you playing this game on? How much space do you have left on your hard drive? Are you connected to the servers/ is your internet enabled while you play?

I would really like to not have this problem anymore, and I am assuming if you don't experience it, perhaps your set-up is different than mine/ ours.

Care to share something of substance with the rest of us?

Ok im using an orignal ps3 with the card slots for cameras and 4 usb. I have replaced the hard drive with a pc hardrive (can find out which one if yuo are interested) because i ran out of space on it.

I use a cheap hdmi (it doesnt matter about hdmi they either work or dont work they are digital and wont affect picture aslong as they are 1.3 standard)

Im on a panasonic G10 42" plasma the one with freesat. Internet on. Connected to servers though it drops out of server connection often.

Lots of hard drive space since i replaced the drive.

Not a bit of lag on DA honest to god. Not one bit, i feel like i should film it or sometihng on my camera. I have got to ostragar and into the deeps, i was worried thinking this is where you were all getting the lag nothing for me.

Fallout 3 no lag except in the final battle against the evil dudes in their base in broken steel. Its not a game breaker though and it lags on my mates super pc too so meh.

Not one bit of lag in any game i have. Im a bit annoyed because i havent got this game for ages due to reviewers saying it lagged. I saw one review where the guy said it didnt, and his page was filled with abuse from about 10 people who said he was stupid etc. So i thought i would save up for a better pc to play it.

In the end i saw the game for £25 and just thought sod it i can risk it and sell it on if its bad, im glad i didnt get a new pc!!

Anything i can help you guys with.

ps in oblivion when it starts and the camera spins round the city there is a millisecond of stutter as the camera rotates around, but again thats on my friends pc and it doesnt bother me. Then the game is absolutely fine.

OK- here goes
I'm playing on an older discontinued PS3 80 G with backwards compatability
using HDMI on a Dynex 42" LCD HD TV
Space on my HD islisted at 41/74 GB
Connected to the internet when playing.
To be honest, maybe I don't see it because I have nothing else to compare it to,all I can say it looks fine to me.

Maybe so, but it may also be the problem doen't exist FOR ME. I don't know why you seem to have a problem with that. I never said the problem doesn't exist at all, I said it doesn't exist FOR SOME.

Do you save a lot bathead? Because one thing i noticed on fallout, it seemed to be connected to saving the game for a lot of people. I rarely save, i let it auto save. Are the people having lag saving every battle or something similar?

Yeah, the problem is I just can't believe that, since there are no differences to PS3 hardware you know...

Save a lot? I don't use up every slot , I have about twenty or so saves between about 3 characters.

That's not my problem that you don't believe me or the others who, on these very forums, have said that they also don't experience the FR issues. That's your problem. And as far as I know there ARE differences between PS3 models. The earlier models, such as mine, had a different laser than later models. Who's to say there aren't other differences that could affect framerates? And, as far as I know, it's not just the PS3 that matters it's the TV itself, how the PS3 is connected and other factors. I don't know, I make no claims as to any kind of expertise in electronics, do you? All I know is what I can see, and I personally see no FR issues,  So, you're either calling us who report no issues either stupid or liars. Which is it?

Just wanted to say that I have the same model ps3 as bathead and I have the same framerate problems as everyone else. It's not a ps3 issue, it's a software issue.

Bathead is very clearly the Ps3 community moderator from Bioware. Finally!!! We get some actual support on this issue! It's nice to know they care so very much!!

Seriously thanks for sharing your system specs. This is definitely a head scratcher.... Honestly, I don't think you are missing something if you don't have the same framerate stutter that I encounter. Sometimes its better, sometimes its worse, the only thing consistent is that my framerate lag increases with the number of enemies on screen. Sometimes it stutters when the camera is rotated, and sometimes it does not. Sometimes it is very bad when internet is enabled, sometimes it is not...

It would help to know if there was anything I could do with my set-up to make it better. It would help to know if Bioware knows what I could do to improve my experience. Return to Ostagar, according to Bioware, also had a title update patch. As to what was to be addressed with that patch, who knows. I do know that the patch is what "broke" the title on xbox, which is the reason RTO was yanked off Live when it was released. They patched the patch (for xbox & PC), told us it was then worked on for the ps3, and that it was out with Sony for certification a month ago. And then..... ( as you all know so well by now) .... nothing.

I could care less about a 1 hour looty DLC. What I want to know is how a 1 hour DLC episode so goobers up the system that we are here one month later wondering what in the hell is going on, and still waiting on any word about updates to the original 4 month old title.

Ok after staring and staring (really really hard) i do notice a tiny tiny teeny bit of lag in ostogar.

Now if this is what you are complaining about they will not fix it, im talking such a low amount my girlfriend doesnt notice it at all. Its like about 1/100th of a second every 3 seconds in the big open areas if there are a lot of monsters.

None of the cutscenes lag at all in the slightest. If i can be bothered im going to try to take some footage on my sony camera and upload it but i dont have time right now.

Like i say, if you are complaining about this teeny lag, i can guarantee they wont "fix" it. If its worse, than its maybe the harddrive they put with the ps3, or its installed into a full drive. Or its your eyes that are lagging :P

I think some people use the term "lag" when they really mean lower framerate.
If you, or anyone else, does not "believe" that the PS3 has some performance issues, I would suggest you give LensofTruth a read: http://www.lensoftruth.com/?p=16618
Gives a nice comparison in DA between the xbox and ps3 versions, including things like framerate.

Personally, I don't find the framerate issue that big a deal... but I pause a lot in combat.

My biggest issues are the dexterity modifiers not working correctly, and the 'lag' between killing a body and being able to loot its corpse.  In longer gaming sessions that lag has been upwards of 20-30 seconds at time.  Which, while livable, does indicate something is wrong.

interesting, because it's the cutscenes where i first noticed the framerate issue.
