We do not know what is the relationship for the studio relating to EA, however as they are owned by EA you could apply the above figures directly. Is 21,000,000 USD in revenue worth patching to ensure repeat customers?

I thinks yes.

For what it's worth, they've definitely lost my future purchases...

Unfortunately, it seems mine too. I cannot finish Awakenings because the retail patch broke both the original game and expansion (it freezes or lags to 15fps), so I won't be buying any DLC that they put out until this is fixed. And When the next game comes out... well, I've been a Bio customer for a loooong time so I will stick around and see how the attitudes go, and evaluate if their support is adequate before I make my mind. So far, it isn't.

But what I have to admit is that if Bio & EA give PS3 Mass Effect trilogy in future, I will buy it....................

I will but such thing only if they'll add exclusive content. I have ME already.

Time to unsubscribe from this thread. DA:O is no longer in my possession. Nor will any future BioWare games....

Not that Bioware would care, and I would be a bigger supporter (I live an hour and a half away from Edmonton, their games can be fun) but with the technical issues that plague their games (except for Mass Effect 2) I have stopped supporting them. I'm trading in my PS3 version of DA tomorrow to get the MGS Peace Walker bundle deal at Futureshop and I am not going to miss it. Not going to regret it one bit. Maybe I'll stop by on these forums in the year 2100, 90 years from now, to see if they were intelligent enough to figure out how to fix issues like this, or make sure the next game doesn't suffer. As for now, I won't be enjoying Dragon Age for a while...maybe forever? Adios!

Funny, even though I've clicked the "unsubscribe" button, it hasn't unsubscribed me from thread updates. That's just pouring salt in the wound at this point...

Worst spell? Thats unfortunate. Anyways I'd say a no to the new hard drive. I have the regular ps3 120 GB slim drive that came with it. I get sputters and low fps when combat first starts off. Then it slowly evens out then picks up again. I'm using a HDMI cable to my samsung syncmaster monitor if that has any effect? I dont know if it would.

Hopefully the new patch being talked about on the news section will fix the issue :)

Well they are finally addressing some notable problems that I personally have encountered. Especially the Fade slowing down. I'm hoping that closure of some of the memory leaks will make the game more stable.

It seems every time new DLC is brought out a patch is also made with it.

Anyway as said above here's a link for handiness

The framerate issue has really detracted from my enjoyment of the game. Deleted an arcane warrior out of frustration because combat became unbearable when all the sustains are on, and spell effects are flying all over the place.

Choppy choppy framerate.

I don't mind really the low framerate. But there is a choppiness that seems that the games pause 1/100 second every 2 seconds. Very confusing and irritating.

I have signed off the Dragon age Servers, Signed of the PSN network.

No difference. Same 1/100 pause every 2 seconds.

Edge of reality must know of this.

Few days ago I finally bought Dragon Age: Origins (EU), at the same time as 2 friends of mine. System firmware is latest 3.60 (on FAT 40GB PS3) and DAO is at 1.6 update. There is 28GB free space on HDD and only 1 save game beside autosave. I even didn't dl free contents (clean game). For me this game is unplayable 100% on my PS3. From the moment I enter the game everything is laggy but tolerable until I reach first area outside the town. Then the game makes me turn of my PS3 and do something else. When I walk around in places with few or no npc's, rotating the camera or standing still..., everything is so slow (extremely low fps, like 15) 100% unplayable. I understand there was a certain low fps issues in crowded places and/or combat areas but never like this. Why? Friends I mentioned before decided to refund their money or exchange their games for DA2, however resaler told them this isn't possible because they will not have DA2 since to many people returned DAO back. Anyway, all other games on my PS3 are working fine with no lag at all, so this isn't the problem. I beg you Bioware people to release a patch 1.7 for PS3 to improve fps outside the combat (in towns, swamps...) This is the 3nd game I bought in 2 years, so please think of us, PS3 users who hardly bought your game. I hope someone from Bioware will look into this, but I doubt.
:(

Problem solved by EA support and eu.psn. Game now runs much better. No further assistance needed. Sorry for my previous post. There was a bug in ps3 3.60 fw, manual installation.

Reviving old threads here..
Just curious:
Do the people who keep saying that it runs smooth have a HDMI-cable and play the game at 720p or 1080p?
I have also noticed that if you enter your PS3 display settings and un-check every box except the 480p, my game will run completely smooth through the whole story.
I have a 500 gb HDD with alot of free space, so space is not an issue here.
Just tired of the tremendously big drop in frames per second.

Thanks for the tip.  I completed one playthrough on PC and thuroughly enjoyed it.  I'm replaying it on PS3 and will continue to use that system for most of my games going forward.

I just bought this for my PS3, while I love the game and have it for my PC, I have to say sucks that they cannot patch it, or fix it with an update.

I bought it for my PS3 because my PC is older and I also don't have all the DLC for it. So I bought it for my PS3 the UE:DA

Is there a work around or something I can do to make it run better?

Well, what is your main issue with the game?
If it is low framerates, then you could do what I said on a previous post and uncheck the top 3 boxes in Display settings -> Video output settings, and leave only the 576p checked.
This will make your game look awful, but framerate issues should be overall eliminated.
I finished the game in 576p, and it kept around 20-30 fps through the majority of the game.

I cannot understand why it is so hard for them to release a patch to fix this problem.
Remember Bioshock? You had the option of turning off advanced visuals in favor for some framerates, and it really worked.
