You honestly find the game that explicit in language? Seemed a little light to me.
I doubt its going to work though. I'm sorry. You could still try though.

To be honest, I did find it odd that aliens are quite familiar with human swearing. On the other hand, they are quite familiar with human languages in general so I can't complain.

I know I'll get a lot of inevitable hate about this (and so much ironic talk about being "adults") but do you guys think there is some way to petition BioWare for an explicit language filter? Is it even possible to get this as a patch?
Why its a17+ game?
Dont play around or with kids and dont let kids play it

Doubtful. There's actually not THAT much offensive language in it anyway...if that's any consolation to you

Pretty much, aside from those two it's not that bad.imnotjakeybot wrote...
Actually it is a consolation. I just got to the first F bomb and my heart dropped thinking BioWare had taken the easy road. So am I to understand that it's the Aria F bomb and Jack?

Personally, I don't like the language either. But then again, I'm not big on sex scenes either. Fortunately, those scenes aren't any more explicit than prime time TV, plus short (and several characters' scenes are much more emotional than dirty). Plus you can safely ignore Jack for the most part once you get her, or if you do talk to her, she calms down a bit after the first few conversations.

And here they come. No, freedom of expression or in this case just the ablity to screw a visual pixel or have Jack tell you to F off is something I put my money on. I want to play a video game where when they shoot people, their head explodes.
I want the game to have real drama just like life and in life there is all this stuff. Though Bioware is only company bold enough to slap you in the face with it. Do not take away what makes Bioware so unique by trying to convince them to censor.
If you wish Censorship, go play Hello Kitty Island. This is a game for mature adults or just people in general who are mature enough that we are exposed to the sex, drugs and verbal language we are not bothered by it. We enjoy it, we hunger for it
It's like an addiction and Bioware is our fix, enough said

Or instead of being a dick you could realize s/he was just asking for an option. <_<
It wouldn't impact your enjoyment of the game because it would be optional.
Also: LOL at BioWare being bold enough for the sex drugs and verbal language. That's why they screw with their clothes on right?

I just got off playing Mass Effect for the entire day, still have some of it fresh in my mind. But yea, First they ask for an option, then they try to nixpix untill everything that makes the game unique is censored out because of people who say Omg, cleveage in a video game..No boobs
I think screwing with their clothes on is censorship enough. They want to be able to tell us a story, and everyone from that story is not someone you would meet off the cast of a disney movie. Like Jack, sometimes stuff to hardcore and you either
Deal with the pace of the game or play something else. It's all or nothing, if you can't handle the content. Don't play the game..I'm running out of pharses but you get the point. Don't fix something that's not broken, Dragon Age won several awards for best game
And partly due because they are not like World of Warcraft where they don't even so much as mention the word sex, and only cleveage you would see on it..well their is none. Bioware has the shy girl, the bad ass girl. You can't make the cake, but only put in the stuff you
Like, this is their video game and we are guests. Placing any type of censorship would be like stripping away part of a new car. You take or leave it. If you can't handle it, watch some public cable network channels and get used to swearing

I wish HBO had made The Wire with a language filter. Would have totally changed the show. Same with George Carlin's stand up special I saw the other day - totally needed a language filter.
I hear here are some really great games for the Wii?

*shrugs* Yet people are perfectly fine with censoring rape and the like eh? <_< Frankly I believe all censorship should be optional. If there's a rape scene and its blacked out because the masses are uncomfortable I should be able to watch it. If there's a movie with said option or the rape scene is blacked out because said masses I don't insult their intelligence by telling them to watch something else.
Though you have a point. The language isn't even that bad. F*** is said like a couple of times most of the swearing seems to be of the s*** variety.
Yea h BioWare's really BA censoring swear words on their boards.
The romance scenes were pathetic though. I believe this was more of BioWare giving into the censorship than anything though.

Joshd21, you are a jerk. Not because I disagree with your opinion, but because of the way you express yourself. Is it really so hard to say you disagree without writing several paragraphs that amount to repeating your insults over and over?
Get used to it, life is filled with jerks. I am willing to say how it is and not try to say sorry about it. I have no regret and you should be a man and get used to the damn video game. The game is rated M for Mature, at age 18 you can join the army be shipped around the world and shoot bad guys
Also when you turn 18, you get used to playing some bad ass video games. If you can't handle the word screw you being spoken a few times. Maybe you should stick to the wii sports. It's not that I just disagree, it's just how you are wrong
And if I don't repeat how wrong you are. You may think you are right, maybe after an hour of listening to me. Mass Effect will seem like a cake walk, don't like it? I didn't ask you what you liked!!, seriously get over it. I'm not getting excited about
Two pixels dry humping and neither should you. Don't like what they have to say? don't listen..but I believe Jack would have a word for ppl like that. The world is a tough place, live now and learn. Dragon Age had nearly the same and it had a high rating of sucess and raise the standreds in video games
Deal with it'
