mkay. first of all i like to thank the folks at bioware for creating yet another brilliant game ! :D

Possible future DLC sidequest ?

Okay, during the game i got morrigan to love the main character (+100)...she gets all crazy and will not join you in your tent anymore and whines about how she wants you to leave her among other things (annoying)...on the way to this love she gives you a ring so she can find you wherever you are, and a ring for you so you might find her, she is not sure about that...this is where i am beginning to think about a possible way for a new quest....because in the end you can make her pegnant or "with child" :kissing: atleast that was my choice, the catch is that after that she tells you that she will leave right after you have slain the archdemon and to never be heard from again...and that pissed me a little off, knowning the work iv'e put in to her and leaving leliana for her. And this is where the ring comes in to the picture. As you might have figured out by now my point is that the quest is to find her and your child somewhere outside Ferelden of course...as it was said in the end she was seen somewhere along a road.....some place. Or maybe she finds you and need help for ?( Dare I say Flemeth)
And another thing, I never got it why she leaved in the first place ? any ideas ?

i'm just putting my thougts out here....this might sound stupid for some. But for me it would be great, some kind reunion with her...Either way, she finds you or find her...

I only just started the game so I haven't even met Morrigan yet but I do recall reading that if you don't keep your companions happy, they might leave. Maybe that's what happened here?

It's not false info, it does happen.

Morrigan and the Elf stop sleeping with you once they're in love with you, because they prefer flings.

As disappointing as it is, there is no possibility of DLC that occurs after the main quest is over. Otherwise anyone who chose to not accept Morrigins offer and not let Alistair kill the Archdemon wouldn't have any chance to play it.

Really? The epilouge seemed to imply that the main character would be involved in events following the Blight. Be a shame if only some could access it. Hmm, perhaps a Fallout style revival is at hand. Considering the events of the game, there isn't a lot of time for a major expantion during the 'gather the armies' bit. I could be wrong though.

I think if anything, the game would continue in a sequel instead of some DLC. With the way the epilogue, it seems very possible that they're coming up with more...but from what I personally can imagine from where the game has gone - probably too big for DLC.

I hate that ****. Claudia Black annoyed me greatly in Stargate but she was hilarious at the same time, it's hard for me to dissociate the actress and the voice.

In any case, I haven't beaten the Archdaemon yet, HOWEVER, I'd like the option to have my fiance Allistair impregnate Morrigan to save both our lives then kill Morrigan after the Archdemon is killed... so we can marry and live happily ever after without worrying about Morrigan become some sort of evil Lord of the **** and come back later.

I'd be nice if we could slay her and the baby..

There is another possibility. If you talk to Flemith she will offer you a deal to give you Morrigans grimoire. This suggests that nothing in the Grimoire can harm Flemith and may be actually part of her plan. Perhaps she planted ideas in her Grimoire for the contingency that Morrigan would get it, either by Flemith being slain or you making a deal with her. Perhaps it has been her plan all along. Flemith has prepared Morrigan as her vessel and everything about Flemiths teachings is about survival. love is a weakness. And it is easier for her to enter the vessel the more powerfull the vessel becomes in magic, like the spells in Flemiths grimoire. Morrigan is unsure herself that this god child she will raise is the answer but the important thing is she believes it is her best chance for survival and got the ritual information from Flemith's grimoire. Why would Flemith give that freely to anyone let alone the vessel she needs for survival? Perhaps it is because she knows the vessel will use it out of survival instinct that she has so thoroughly prepared.

On my first play through I loved Morrigan and refused Morrigans offer, tried to convince Alister but he would not have it (thereafter new characters I make sure to max persuasion skill) and I performed the ultimate sacrifice and got a message at the end after my funeral that she was seen with child. I thought maybe it was a broken quest so I backed up to the save point before Morrigan gives you her grand plan and repeated it through saying no but there it was again. Not Alisters and I had said no. Course we had been together before that point...and maybe that save is borked I don't know, but I don't think so. So then I backed up and agreed to the ritual and got the part in there at the end about the "rumor that she had been with me". And that all I could sense through the ring was remorse and sadness. I relate this because I have seen other people say they get the message that Morrigan gets eaten. I wonder if thats because they didn't love her and had never been with her I don't know. All I know is I can't seem to get that whether I say yes or no from that save game.

So ok time for second play through, although after so much backing up on the first play through I felt like it was my third complete play through... I created a new character and played all the way through to that save point this time making sure to max persuasion skill. This character loved Leliana +100 and had Morrigan at +100 Friend! And this time convinced Alister to marry Anora and say yes to Morrigans ritual. We both survived, Leliana and I went traveling, Alister was King with Anora the Queen and got the message again that Morrigan was seen with child. So you think Aha! Maybe Alister did do Morrigan the first time even though he said no. But not so, I never got the cutscene with Morrigan and Alister on the first toon but I did on the second toon. Course that could also be a busted quest symptom...

The play through I have not done yet is to not give Morrigan one or both grimoires. On my to do list though. But I do think it is possible for a sequel or DLC with Morrigan. After all you can choose the ultimate sacrifice so what does that mean no more DLC for you? I don' think so LOL. Bioware will ensure there is a way to sell you more DLC. The only question is what will sell.

Assuming it's not a busted quest, it seems odd to me that Morrigan can be seen with child three ways, you saying yes, Alister sating yes, you and Alister both saying no, to have nothing come of it. But Bioware will put together what they think will sell and if people are interested in the Morrigan theories and plot lines then I think they will. I for one find it very intriguing and would be very interested in such DLC. For toons that did not give Morrigan one or both Grimoires then perhaps you will have a different meeting with Morrigan a.k.a Flemith but still meet. Morrigan is after all trained by Flemeith, the ultimate survivor.

Another idea I caught myself thinking was that upon slaughtering Flemth, perhaps she had possessed Morrigan at that moment even though Morrigan was back at camp. Morrigans demeanor does change (and I don't mean the slider bar). This could be because she realizes she now has a chance or could be because she is now Flemith. Even Morrigan says Flemith could come back even if she is dead. Morrigan thinks that by killing Flemith it will just give her time, time to strategize the survial plan, which may have been Flemiths plan all along. Perhaps the child will not have the Arch Demon soul to battle Flemith, perhaps it will be Flemiths soul or something totally different, a benevolent spirit or old god. Perhaps the Arch Demon/Tevinter/old god soul is a catalyst. And perhaps when the character sensed remorse and sadness through the ring, it was Flemiths for perhaps she realized that the character was not like her husband that sold her so very long ago. Or perhaps thats what she is counting on.

Remember that vessel that views love and loyalty as a weakness? I would prefer to think that whether I love Morrigan as a friend or a lover, the goal is to unshape the vessel Flemith created, to reshape Morrigans core foundation to the point where she is alien to Flemith to make it more difficult if not impossible for Flemith to find her let alone possess her. An ironic survival tactic in itself no?

But perhaps Flemith had a counterpoint ready for that contingency too, perhaps she was counting on love getting the better part of her vessel as it did her so long ago.

I would prefer to think that as either a friend or lover we would wade through rivers of demon and abomination entrails left in our wake as we slaughtered through the depths of hell to find and put and end to Flemith once and for all, with or without Morrigan. Now that I think, would be something Flemith would not expect, a friend or a lover that would stop at nothing to save her, for that is something Flemith never had even for as beautiful as she was, hence her preoccupation on survival and *her* weakness.

It could be that the blight, the arch demons, Morrigan, the child, the grimoire, the ritual, all counterpieces that fit into Flemtihs masterpiece or perhaps put into motion by herself long ago to garauntee her survival. A tune and dance known well and performed many times...

Tis fun to speculate. There are always ways...the imagination is endless. Bioware can spin this however they want. I doubt we'll ever hit on it if they do decide on a Morrigan continuation one way or the other, as there is always a "loop in your hole" as Morrigan would say. We will have to wait and see. But if they do, I for one would say;

"A fine gift, you have my thanks."

Weird. On my second playthrough, I did the sacrifice thing and "someone who looked like Morrigan" was later seen in the court of Orlais or something like that.

In the old Dragon Age board, there was a 100 page plus Morrigan thread where I believe David Gaider posted a few times. If i remember correctly, he said while Morrigan's story is not over, it won't be resolved through "quick DLC". Honestly, I doubt we will get any real continuation of the story until there is a full featured expansion. While I do want to see what happens after the Morrigan romance cliffhanger, I also realize that other people might not even involve Morrigan in their playthroughs at all. Whatever sequel or expansion they have in mind should take into account player decisions in DA:O, rather than simply making a "canon" ending and rendering alternative decisions/events meaningless.

Let's take Baldurs Gate 2 as an example. The beggining of that game implies that you finished the first Baldurs Gate with Jaheira, Kahlid, Imoen and that ramster guy in your party.

I never finished Baldurs Gate 1, but i felt odd once my paty had only Imoen out of those four... And where's the sixth party member? However, i loved that game mutch more than the first!

See, of course they can make a sequel... all they have to is to assume a suitable enough ending to feed the sequel. And in a game with a considerable wider range of in main quest decisions like this one, the imposition just have to be bigger as well.

Once Morrigan is the most promoted charachter in the game, she apears in all the game's merchandising, and even in that first tiny screen when you launch the game, and once she is the player's choice as the most intriguing charachter as says that pool in BioWare's site home page, i think a sequel could only but have something to do with her.

Assuming that there is an expansion they just might give DLC like Wardens keep and just wait till DA 2.

I don't think it will happen since they had to cut off Jowan from the cast / companions because of financial issues and Shale just got lucky to have all his voice actor done otherwise Shale will have been cut off to.

See, the topic about Jowan.

Well first of all the DLC will only contain content before the final battle (as far as I know) so finding Morrian will most likely have to wait till the expac.

And Morrigan leaves regardless of her approval rating or your answer to her request, thats just how the game ends with her. Oh and 100+ doesnt necessarily mean love she could be "friendly" if you hover over the approval bar it will say if shes in love or just freindly.

[PS] I noticed there are some people here who havnt finished the game PLEASE do NOT read these threads they will ruin the game for you.

*edit*oops forgot to add this here is a link to the thread where people talk about Morrigans reason for leaving social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/47/index/245091

I really like that approach, but how would it accommodate those who haven't played the originally game? Would you start out as someone else entirely (ie. NPCs from the first game won't know you at all), or would you be given the option to choose from a list of starting scenarios, each with a little backstory summarizing some of the stuff you "did" previously?

As for Morrigan's child, it would make for a good side quest in the second game but I don't think it can be a major plot point since you have the option of refusing her offer (unless after refusing her she manages to bed Riordan before the final battle; he may have been unaware of the ritual).

There is the "Other Campaigns" option that has yet to be unlocked. Maybe they'll release DLC that happens after the final battle (in several months though, after a good number of people have beaten the game)?

concerning the ring that makes her able to find you, isnt that like putting a GPS on your GF/BF?

Isnt that sick? I doubt the real reason was to find you in "need".

More like:

A: prevent you from finding her in the future

B: always know were you are...at anytime.
