How exactly does one unlock this specialization?
I've reached level 7 and thus stopped leveling until I can become a blood mage, but I'm not quite sure as to where and how I achieve this.
I only know it involves some Connor guy in Redcliffe.

Do I have to help and save the village  or can this be unlocked without such actions, I'm not to keen on doing this since Morrigan disapproves and I'm currently playing an elf whom aint to fond of humans either.

So if anyone could enlighten me with this knowledge it would be much appreciated :wizard:

Yeah but this does not give me any more knowledge from what I already know.

Guess it's easier to as it like this then: Do I have to save Redcliffe in order to become a blood mage?

Basically you have to go into the Fade, with the intention of defeating the demon thats responsible for all the trouble, and then agree to let her go and let her return at a later date in return for Blood Mage training.

So in order to reach this quest I must first agree to help with the preparations and defend the village?

Yes, eventually you'll be able to go to the castle, and events will go on from there up until the point where you'll be given the option to enter the fade and "defeat" the demon.
