I know there is a quick fix to the problem, (installing the drivers from disk) and I've already played through Mass Effect 2 with everything running peachy, but I noticed that whenever I start up ME1, I have to reinstall my PhysX drivers from the ME2 disk every time I try to play ME2 again.

I found this while trying to import another character I had not finished up yet.

The only important Spec, I imagine, is that I have an 8800 GTX, 768 mb.

Basically every time I start up an error message stating that PhysX fails to initialize and the game never starts. Whenever that happens I have to uninstall/reinstall the drivers. It happens without fail after every time I play a game that uses the unreal engine or physX, it seems.

I don't like having to do that because I feel one day that is just going to stop working or something, so I was wondering if there was an easier way/patch that I had not discovered?
EDIT: Forgot to mention I'm running Windows 7, 64 bit, in case that mattered...

It's really just an incompatibility issue with my card. even though the card has full support for PhysX, ME2 just does not like some nvidia cards for some reason, even if the drivers are fully updated. Right now I cannot get the latest version of PhysX, just the version on the ME disk.

Not to thread hi-jack or anything, but how does one remove the "Physx ->CPU" notification from the top left of the screen?

Thanks

Deselect 'Show Physx Visual Indicator' Under 3D settings in the Nvidia Control Panel.

thanks for the effort, but in driver version 195.62 that option does not exist (at least in my nV control panel).

So off to download 196.21.

Installed 196.21. There is no option in nVidia control panel having anything to do with "showing" anything. Very sad.

Edit: Found it. Select 3dsettings in the explorer pane, then open the menu item 3dsettings. killed my geek. :pinched:
