The post is more or less in the topic.  However, while we are at it feel free to tell where one needs to go to get all party members.  No spoilers please if there are any.  I just wanted general directions as in, after the first major battle head to the mages tower, it happens there kind of thing.  Thanks,

During a random encounter after a cutscene shows him been hired by someone.

i got him after doing the 1st part of redcliffe. I saw a cutscene where he was hired by loghain and then the next random encounter i had was him.
