I would like to be able to play DAO without having the CD in the drive by using one of the various software Cd emulators. Has anyone any experience of this?

I am pretty sure this has been asked before, but there appears to be no search facility on this forums!!

By circumventing the copy-protection you are in violation. You are simply at the wrong place to ask such question.

I have no desire to circumvent any copy protection. I simply do not want to tie up my CD drive. As you pointed out when I did a search of Google I got loads of results talking about cracks and whatnot. I have happily paid my money for the game. All I was asking is if it was possible.

I am sorry if you made the assumption that I was wearing an eye patch. A simple no it is not possible would have answered my question.

I think you can play without DVD if you register your key within EADM (EA Download Manager)

Download and install EADM.
na.akamai.cdn.ea.com/eamaster/u/f/eaonline/eadm/eadm-installer.exe

Login with the same account you are using here.

Enter your retail key in EADM.

Play without DVD but it requires a internet connection to launch the game since it need to validate your installation.

It possible that you need to deinstall and download DAO over EADM to make it work. I'm not sure but I think EADM use an other executable than the retail version.
