If you spared Sidonis' life, I'd love it if a return to Omega reveals that Archangel has returned in force and is cleaning house. Sidonis' way of making good, with hopefully a chance for he and Garrus to share a moment.

This would be very interesting and a welcome story element. I approve

About the love intrest in mass effect 2 bioware could have at least done reference to the love intrest more than was done like when it is whit a dialogue whit a love intrest in mass effect 2, that you could say that you love the former love intrest in mass effect 1.

plus that that message from the love intrest on the personal terminal it could have been done like a cut scene in the brefing room where you talk to the love intrest.

It would also be nice if there were more activites to do with your squad mates on the ship. Maybe play a game of space cards or other fun little mini games with certain members or a group of them. I think having things like this would make it really hit home if one of them were to die and you realize you can never play that game with them ever again.

I agree completly, it would really help to drive you to see everyone survive.

There was a bit where you play card, except you don't actually see it, just you agreeing to join in then a message on screen telling you what you'd won. Not good enough!

I just wanted to say thanks! This topic has turned into a huge thread, and every one of you have some really good ideas for the third Mass Effect. I really hope that Bioware will take keen attention to this topic and really help make this game shine. Remember, this isn't about judging what other people want! It's just a wishlist!

Mass effect is hands down the very best game I've ever played. I enjoyed the trilogy so far and look forward to the next more than ever. I'm creating this topic as a goal for the community to reach out to Bioware to make mass effect 3 the very best it could ever be. ME2 Seemed to suffer a little bit in areas that ME1 thrived in. These are a few things that I personally would love to see in mass effect 3. Although I'm well aware we all would like different things, it'd be great to have a few things back from ME1. Things that really made it shine, and possibly some new elements in the mix as well. I feel as if ME2 has gone too far into the FPS-Action only, and will probably have hardly any RPG aspect in ME3. If we don't correct it soon, it'll be too late. With that said, here's some things that I would love to see in ME3 to really give us that RPG feel.

Give us levels that make us feel like we've accomplished something! (VERY IMPORTANT!)

What's the point in leveling up a character when you don't unlock
something for getting there, or have a harder time fighting something as
you level up. Let me give you an example. This game levels you up very
well but you have no challenges. Enemies seem to stay at an incredibly
balanced difficulty throughout the game. It'd be nice to have enemies
outside of your level that are too difficult to kill, or much harder.
Another thing would be level requirements for certain ship upgrades,
guns, ammo, armor, etc. Give us the illusion that the higher the level
we are, the stronger we are! IMHO there was no
sense of this in ME2, and half the upgrades we got we never noticed.

Bring back the Inventory (upgradeable sizing)

Theres always a good feeling knowing what's in your backpack. RPG gamers love looting! It's always exciting to pick up something that may, or may not be better than what you currently own. Another aspect of that great RPG feel could be to upgrade our bag size. Looting objects and selling them at different markets would be great. For instance selling something at OMEGA could be more valuable than at the Citadel.

Upgradeable weapons/armor (The NEW fasioned way)

I don't really like the new weapon upgrades as much as the first ME. I think that for ME3 something completely different would be great for everybody who enjoys this game. Give us content! Perhaps a new sniper rifle barrel, or a different scope/zoom distance. Magazine size/Ammo size. ETC. Something that really can make our weapons UNIQUE! Everyone can have the highest upgrade, but with this method of customization there's many more ways to enjoy killing the reapers!

Where did the vehicle go!? Please. . . Give it back!!

I loved the driving aspect of the game. It really gave you a sense of how large the game was. It mad me feel cramped having to walk around everywhere. I'm not exactly sure why, but for some reason whenever I got into the vehicle the game just felt that much bigger to me. I loved it. It may not have driven the best, but it sure was a great part to the game. I heard of talk about them creating a vehicle, but I've completed the game, and explored every planet with no success of driving one, nor did I see a place where one could be used.

Please, Make the citadel larger.

This one is crucial to me, but I'm not sure how this strikes other gamers. I really enjoyed the citadel in ME1, not soo much in ME2 though. It seemed a lot smaller and the fact that it was just a bunch of levels on top of each other wasn't much for me. I really enjoyed being in the Citadel in ME1 and loved to explore the life in it. The Citadel in ME2 seems lifeless, just a bunch of shops and levels. I guess it's hit or miss on this one with the community, but I though I'd point it out.

While doing missions, make them less linear.

Hard to get lost during a mission, it always felt like a hallway leading with doors to the objective. DON'T get me wrong, I don't feel as if the game is linear, but 80% of the mission are. There's usually only one way to go, one way to complete it, and one way in/out. Open it up! we want to explore!

Keep the Normandy just as exploreable/vehicle

Another big one for me. I think it'd be great to have the normandy land on a planet, walk down to the cargo hold, get into a vehicle, and drive it out onto the unexplored planet. Something tiny, but it's this attention to detail that really makes a game shine!

More Normandy fights!

In ME2 we don't really use the upgrades for anything at all. We spend thousands and thousands on mats upgrading our ship. . . and for what? A quick dodge at the end of the game? I wanted to really see how the upgrades worked, all I seen was it go through some debree. Some dogfighting would be great.

Give us Earth! If ME3 really is the end of the trilogy (better not be!) than at least let us explore our homeplanet. Have the reapers invade it or something. I duno, just bring earth into the picture. I want to see it in the future.

Keep this as the best game I've ever played, just put some more RPG elements into it!

I hope this can be stickied, and we can all come together as a community to make Mass Effect 3 the best game to ever be released. . . . Until ME4-100 of course. :)

Basically bring back ME1? I enjoyed fiddling around with my stuff in ME1 myself but this ended up being half of what I did, I understand it's more RPG but I think they took it too far, the fact you could only change what weapons etc you had was a good idea I feel, being able to change everything every two second was too much of a crutch and again, took up most of the game time.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy being pedantic and tinkering as much as the next gamer but after a while, it just becomes a bit of a ball ache. WIth so many aspects I think a balance between the two extremes of ME1 and too needs to be struck. And (am I the only one who's mentioned this?)bring back legible writing!!

I can't believe that people are saying planet scanning is not that bad. It's the most tedious and repetative garbage I can remember in recent games I have played. It's even worse for people with ADD. It has to die. The stupid thing has actually put me to sleep nearly! No joke.

Y'know I didn't mind it so much the first time around... but know I'd rather knaw my own leg off than do it over and over again. They gave resource bonus for game completion but it's still not enough to buy many upgrades, I think in hinsdsight they should've been more generous, meaning that after the first play through there would be no more (or even just a little bit) scanning.

I would have like ta have seen more comment when you meet old sqaudmembers, for an exampel is the meating whit Liara t'soni, then here Tali, Garrus or Miranda could have had comments. And Tali and Garrus could have said that is was good to meet her again and liara to respond to that.

I would really have appreciate that.

[*]Advance the romance for players who have chosen to stay with someone
from ME1[*]Give us the option of turning sexual advances down (so
we don't accidentally end up cheating by being nice)[*]Give us
back elevators and decontaminating (shorten decontaminating)[*]Give
us more loyalty missions[*]No more cheesy last bosses[*]Give
us back customizations for armor and weapons[*]Give us more armor
and weapons[*]Make the AI better for harder modes (Gears of War
style flanking with cover fire would be nice on Insane)[*]Give us
more non-boring exploration options. Scanners and vehicles get dull after a while without cool areas to go into
[*]Make the PC version scalable just
like ME1 (ME2 only had 2 settings; super low end and high end)
[*]Don't fix what isn't broken! Bugs like the blue
selection box happen because of unessecary tinkering. Please
avoid this in the future.

I'd like more solo missions. In ME2, there were only 2,one on devastated ship SSV Estevanico and on a planet's moon, where the colony's defences against the UV rays went dead. I found those missions to be thrilling, since i was alone. It was like a survival mode XD.

What is the possible the main misson in mass effect 3 is to see that that all are ready for the reapers. Example see to that all get uppgrades like the gun uppgrades on the Normandy.

That.  Or on certain missions your party is split to do different tasks, and you have some solo play.  You could pick who does what task in the mission etc.

And id also like to see more character customization..... the hair styles in the games are a joke..  this is the players character in a story driven game.... who doesnt want to look good.

Also i see many ppl saying they love the old ME1 Overheating system, or the new Clip system.....  Cant be too hard to incorporate both into ME3.  Some weapons would be overheating, some clip... and some kind of weapon mod to switch the type if you love a specific weapon that doesnt have the overheating option you prefer.  This approach would also add good Ability customization, for example an upgraded Overload could again have option to overheat, but if you are using a weapon with a clip, you have benefits against this.

Also this has probably already been mentioned but regarding biotics.... adept in particular, should gain an ability to bypass defenses somehow. On my second playthrough of ME2, i tried Adept on insanity.. I restarted as another class because it was just boring not being able to use your biotics except on health (with afew exceptions). Examples of the type of thing im talking about -

Bypass Defenses - Your next (1-2) biotic ability hass 100% chance to bypass enemy defenses.

OR as you level up you passive adept line you gain a % chance to bypass defenses automatically.

This should apply to adept only imo, as biotics for vanguard are suppimentary to weapon damage, and sentinels are designed to destroy enemy defenses.

Normally I'd read all the posts, just to be sure I don't post a duplicate. Sorry, too many entries!

More missions where you get to use more of your team, in small split units would be great fun.

I understand the mechanic used for scanning, but really, doesn't Shepard have someone he can delegate this too? I mean, Cerberus and the Alliance both have huge resource available. Make the upgrades items for more side missions, maybe. Lots tech in abandoned bases etc. instead of having to find another planet to look for stuff. Then again this was a really cool way to introduce anomalies. I suppose you win and lose.

I had problems with money in ME2. I beat the game and want to explore the galaxy but it's too expensive for fuel and probes. So my employer spends loads of cash on one project, but they can't spare some for another? Maybe increase the cash from each mission.

Include an NPC merchant who will allow players to sell minerals and buy minerals. (maybe a volus on Illium?).

I really loved the game, and I started a second game right after I beat it. (I imported an ME1 character both times.) I liked the lack of an inventory, and the equipment management was very cool. It allowed me to spend more time on the missions and less time on the stuff.

More later.

This is an excelent suggestion. I second it! Each character can have a different mini game. If you are a paragon you play thier game and maybe, maybe even let them win. (or they are so good you have no choice). If you are a renegade you can make them play your game, maybe even try to cheat. This could also effect loyalty.

Speaking of loyalty, I really liked the Dragon Age Loyalty system.  Not that I want is cut and pasted into Masseffect 3. Maybe take the best parts and use a shorter version of the system.

Also, you can have three different types of characters for the party. Renegade followers, newtral followers and paragon followers. Just like to old saying, you can't please everyone all the time.

I want a mission inside a mass relay that is not Citadel. A 'normal' mass relay. I wanna see what it's like inside that thing. There could even be some event during the mission when a big ship uses the relay, and you could feel the whole relay shaking, or perhaps the powering up would make the conditions lethal and there would be a time limit in which you need to get out before the relay is used.

Please let the armor and weapons we HAVE carry over to ME3. I cant tell you how sad I would be to have purchased the collectors edition (Collectors armor), Terminus gear, Blooddragon armor and inferno armor, just to have them not carry over to ME3. I want to look completely bad **** wearing my collector armor in ME3, please don't make everything we have obtained go to waste!

I have recently decided to play jade empire again and am in shock.  I love ME1 and 2 but somehow Jade Empire seems to be getting right a lot that I think ME2 kind of missed on.  It has the simplified character enhancement but done in a way so you feel more that you are affecting how your character develops.  So to some extent maybe Bioware needs to take a look at all its titles and the lessons learned.  There were a couple of major complaints about Jade Empire that its battle system was too easy.  And yes there is a bunch of button mashing possible but that has to do with the fact it is not a shooter.  Any port of this code base into Mass effect would not have this issue.  Second that Jade Empire is short.  That does not seem to be an issue for ME at all.

Now what works....

1) Simplified skills that are easily upgradeable by points earned in game.  The system is actually extremely workable and in someways I can not tell why they abandoned this feel.  It is simplistic but you can improve the speed damage or chi effect of your attack.  I find it hard to believe some similar effects can not be moved into ME.

2) You have the ability to learn new skills.  This is probably the most basic component that I find to be worth moving into ME.  Instead of giving predetermined skill lists being able to learn from having the ability to individually determine what skills and abilities you will have would be very cool.  The fact you have to go two deep in most trees to get another skill that may not be related did not make sense to me in ME2

3)A definitive feeling of improvement.  Your character does impact more and get better as you level up.  In ME this can sometimes be hard to identify but in Jade Empire it was easily discernable.

So my feeling is that by looking at earlier simplified RPG interfaces they have done they can perhaps balance the RPG elements while keeping the slim down approach they have taken.

Also I would love another jade empire game.

It is strange that you need tho learn how to use different ammo, that would have been better to have it has an customization of weapons.
