What is there to say that has not been said already?!
The Citadel, lack of armour, and weapons were all a little...bleh, but I did love the armour customixation KEEP THAT!!
But it would be $%^& sweet to do that for everyone else...Like a squad of bright good characters, or a dark deathsquad....you know, to show your squad creativity!
~And it'd be interesting if the colour of your squad could help in combat or even in conversations! If your black instead of baby blue, you should intimidate the othere a bit more...
~Cover was good....Blind fire?(Ehhhh...)
~Squad fieldtrips! Take your squad with you on space stations and have gang fights...lol...
~More dynamic Close quarters combat!! Hand to hand would be interesting if it went smoothe...which you guys would take care of for sure....you ARE Bioware... Also more scenes with hand to hand, it was funny when Shepard just Sparta kicks that Varren on that Quarrian rescue mission and for that Patriarch mission on Omega. That was just...well, the dude had a flame thrower...and Shepard performed some major pwnage.
~Keep Garrus alive!! God, he is like my best friend in the game...sad? No... ?Everyone knows that he is just simply...cool. Nuff Said.
~More skin...It is a mature game and in this day in age, who does not or who has not seen a boobie! Nothing extreme you know...soft core HBO stuff.
~More sense of realism...meaning violence. I can understand the ratings and limitts, how about seeing the damge on an enemy? Like a merc, bullet holes... Like in Rain Bow 6 Vegas. Good concept. No brain matter or split heads...well, maybe for zombie like characters...or insect ones...anything really fleshy...They are called Shredder Rounds for a reason.
~Other planets to explore....well, more. The scanning was tedious but strangely addicting...make it faster! But not to easy...think about it. Nothing like ME1 where it was just scan, pop, done... good idea though, it was in the right direction.
~THIS IS A BIG ONE!!! Changing your weapon position! Like change shoulders with the rifle to get a better view around the corner! That adds realism and over exposure to the enemy.
~Voice actor for Shep sounds great, but for the more dark moments, he needs to sound a little bit darker, not like Mark Hamill hissing like in Darksiders....fail/but love you Mark=god....but you can hear his little drone. He needs to get up close a little more too....meaning in game character.

THIS IS JUST A SUGGESTION.

Bioware should get a hotline to call for ideas. A person picks up, asks which game, person tells ideas, they type it down. But I can understand it would get very....nvtty if a thousand people call suggesting bigger citadels or MORE SKIN.... I mean serious ideas. I dunno. I can prolly get some people to rally behind me when I say its some what hard to explain some ideas through posts. You know, how about you record the calls, and if its just like the same call you had 10 minutes ago, they should just delete the recording, and send it to the...big dawgs, head honchos', cheese, and bosses...
You could start with me, or you know? Just do it for a month Or a week!? Faster feedback? So you can get ME3 out to us much faster.
You can start with me, and this is a losser thing to hope for butttttt......

Regarding inventory... please oh please don't make it like ME1. Old school RPG inventory management is lame. Who carries 165 extra pieces of equipment on them on missions?

Beef up the armory options and gear. If you had 6 guns of each type, each with their own pros and cons it would be so much better.

Eh... I guess... But what if they actually liked the colours? Or if they didn't like that colour they wouldn't let you! Like if you choose pink Garrus would go.... Really Shepard? No....

No inventory, plox. I appreciated the change Bioware made in ME2. If I want a lootfest I'll play Torchlight.

What i would like to see in the third installment is a second (and possibly third team) they could also start working with you and have their own ships etc. The captains of the ships could be former teammates and would allow you to feel like perhaps your part of a larger struggle rather than just one man versus the universe. I would also like to see bigger battles as the war escalates. This could leave you open for co-op special rescue missions and heaps more. Also you as overall commander could decide which mission you do and which they do meaning if you get it wrong it can have serious consequences!!!!!!!!

Also it does annoy me that you have 10 teammates but only ever use two at a time! would be nice to see the whole team fighting together (including past, present and new characters)  in a few major battles! Even if you cant play them seeing them on screen would be nice! All I'm saying is if it was you would you go in a small team when you have loads of people not being used??

Also must mention some of the ideas on here are brilliant so far !!

I wrote a thread about it - but ME2 lacked amazing party banter and character that interacted to each other when playing.
Also, the "I can't talk because you haven't done a main quest"-dialogues was annoying, the same goes for only getting to know my crew at the same spots (aboard Normandy).

I didnt attach to my group the same way I did in ME1 (elevator chat ftw!) and Dragon Age. It ruined much of my experience.

Liara ignoring Tali and Garrus totally was just mean.

Zero consequences in ME 2, which blows. Here we are making all these moral decisions and they don't mean diddly until, I assume, ME 3.

Also, too much homogeneity in the equipment. I miss customizing my weapon and armor. The new armor system is nice for changing the look, but the differences between pieces of armor aren't worth the bother.

First off, thanks for the game Bioware. Mass Effect was already my favourite game this console generation, and Mass Effect 2 surpassed it in almost every way.

I'm sure I'm not the first to type these out, but I'm most interested in seeing the following for ME3:

1. Interaction and dialogue between squad members: I think the Joker/EDI dynamic worked as well as it did because you got a sense that they were interacting with each other even when you weren't around. With the exception of just a couple scenes, I didn't get the same sense of interaction between any squad members.

2. As large a role for ME2 love interests as ME1's: A lot of the pre-launch ME2 interviews emphasized that the ME1 love interests were being 'saved' for Mass Effect 3. That's fine for fans of Liara/Ashley/Kaiden but I think there are just as many people out there who prefer their ME2 love interests.
I know Bioware won't completely forget about them, but I'm a little afraid their roles will be greatly reduced just because of ME2's high casualty rate. They don't all have to be back as squad members per say, just make sure their roles are not reduced to cameo length ala Kaidan/Ashley in ME2.

3. Tweak/change space exploration: I'll come out and say that I'm a much bigger fan of space exploration in the first game than the second. I liked the fact you could explore any place in the galaxy without having to rely on hub systems with mass relays or worrying that your ship would run out of fuel/probes and you'd be forced to turn around.
Planet scanning was fun --if a little slow-- but it'd be nice if there were more side-missions that took place on them.

I would like to be able to build my gun (pending on class each class given main gun) from parts i find or buy as i go! I'm thinking different scopes, power, clip size but they could balance it so if you have more power you have a smaller clip size etc! I would also like to be able to make a symbol (like in halo 3) and emblazen it on all my guns, armour etc this means you could really customize things and mixed with some colour/ pattern choices everyone could look unique

Can we please have Liara back as a squadmate? She was my favorite thing about the first game, and reducing her role to a cameo cast a huge shadow over the rest of ME2. Despite all of the game's advancements and improvements, I enjoyed it less than the original due to Liara's absence.

If you won't bring her back as a squadmate, at least give those of us who remained loyal to her a satisfying resumption of the Liara/Shepard love story. Thank you.

- I don't want the inventory system to return but I would atleast want to be able to customize the looks and armor of my squadmates.

- Mako should return in ME3 with better controls and a well designed planets to explore.

- Quicktime events are awesome so looking forward to that.

- A better way to gain loyalty rather than just doing a mission.

- Helmet toggle on/off, seriously if this was intended then it was a VERY POOR design chioce. When a player spends a lot of time customizing his character and spends extra money for the DLC he expects to be able to look at his toon with or w/o the armor equipped at the same time. If ME1 had such an option so why not ME2? Doesn't make sense....

- A looting/scanning system without the cumbersome inventory would make the game retain its RPG elements and at the same time eliminate complexity.

- Impact of the choices made in ME1 and ME2 in ME3

- Since the game has taken more of a shooter approach so the ability to blind fire maybe? Need not be accurate but should get the job done in tight situations.

- An improved cover system and a better interface.

- Improvement in the maleshep voice acting. This is the ONLY reason I play as femshep cause it feels more natural with her.

- More missions and a better storyline.

- Planet scanning = fail, it is a cool idea but was implemented very badly and does not add to the gameplay experience instead becomes a chore. There shouldn't be even a single part of the game where the gamer should feel bored out of his pants.

- Bring back the elevators instead of loading screens. Even though elevators took a long time I could still see my character talking to his squaddies and listening to the news but in ME2 the loading screens is like an intermission between a great movie which sucks. Even though the loading screen lasts for about 5 seconds in the PC version it is still very annoying.

- Thermal clips is a very good idea, others may disagree but it makes the game more tactical instead of spraying and killing.

- More abilities and balanced classes, example the engineers have very limited options hence I would never play as them even on normal difficulty. Vanguard, soldier and sentinel are the only ones I can think of right now that I'll ever play with.

Thats all I can think of right now, hope the devs see this thread. There are a lot of good ideas in here and I'd like to see them in ME3.

#1 - Omnigel. The Codex still mentions it. Advertisements on Ilium talk about it. But we can't use it. Yes, I know that our main source of omnigel has vanished (junk loot). But it's good to have an option for skipping the minigames once you've done them 2,573 times....

#2 - Automate scanning. What the heck do all those crew members DO? Why is the captain of the ship manually scanning planets? The results from automated scanning don't need to be as good; you might miss some of the isolated, ultra-rich pockets of ores. But honestly, scanning planets is even worse than driving the Mako; at least you could take the Mako and see if you could manage to flip it over or somehow drive up an almost vertical surface.

#3 - Mako. Yes, some people hated it. But some people actually enjoyed it. Bring it back as an optional system. You can have the shuttle drop you off right at the action, or you can drive in with the Mako for some extra resources, extra combat, or some kind of tactical advantage in the opening fight.

#4 - More variety in the skill trees. I didn't even max out my Shepard and he still had two rank 3s and the rest rank 4s. The only variation right now is the order in which you fill in the tree.

Don't get me wrong: I still think ME2 is a great game. It might even be better than the original (haven't decided yet). But it could use some tweaks.

The #1 one thing I liked about this title is the story. I'm wondering where they'll take the story after the three revealations, 1.) origion of the Collectors, 2.) where the Reapers really are; and, 3.) why humans colonies are being attacked. Great story and I wonder how Bioware'll top it.

I do like looking for upgrades to my weapons, body, ect.... but I wonder where are my High Explosive ammo upgrades and Frictionless Materials?? Attach two Frictionless Materials IX and one Hammerhead Rounds III and fire all day long. I also like the explaination given to why there's no reloading in ME.

The most irrating part of this title has to deal with taking damage and the Unity skill. I don't enjoy taking damage and trying to heal while pressing the Y button. The FPS-style of healing isn't the application I would incorporate into any Mass Effect title. That aspect brings dread when I place my ME2 disc onto the disc tray. When I have to sit for ,say, 10 seconds to heal, it puts me a very disadvantaged position. Do I stay still and allow my oppenents to outflank me or take the chance I'll take them out while the screen is pulsating red. Either way, I die. One is just quicker than the other. A perfect example of this would a battle against a Preatorian. Sometimes I would like to face down an oppenent without being sliced into pieces. I can deal with all of the other issues of this title if Bioware address the Unity and Damage problem.

About the Unity skill, keep it as in ME. I go through way to many medi-gel packs throughout a battle. I liked the fact my squadmates and my own health regenerates, varyingly, to 100% after awhile. And if need be, I'll use some medi-gel to speed the process. In this title, I typically have to wait for the battle to end, as one or both of my squadmates are out comission, for them to "wake-up". I usually reserve healing during a major battle.

Thermal Clips, honestly! (It makes more sense when regarding the Heavy Weapons) In ME, we had an overheat indicator. If you're going to continue using thermal clips (which doesn't speak to me as high-tech), incorporate that idea into dissapating heat. If we let off the trigger, the heat reduces. And if the weapon overheats, discharge a thermal clip for a quicker return to the battle. Add in upgrade to reduce the overheat gauge and maybe heat dissapation limits of thermal clips. I mean, 20 or so rounds for my heavy pistol doesn't appeal to me to use often. One thing I can say is, atleast, I can look around for more thermal clips with relative ease.

In regards to the skill sets. Kind of lack luster. I do like the idea I can train with other characters' special skills and have access to advanced weapons training (Assault Rifle, Sniper Rifle,....). I choose the Assualt Rifle for my Adept. I do like having three quick use buttons instead of one. I'll gladly do any with one of them for the healing system modeled after ME.

I was wondering if we had access to a vehicle other than the shuttle. The shuttle's okay, but I doesn't have weapons. The Mako wasn't the easiest vehicle to manuver, but I was hoping there would've been an improvement, granted it was lost to the Collector attack in the beginning. I agree, if there was more of a vehicle interaction, there should be more activity. Have settlements look like Freedom Progress (maybe smaller), just an idea.

But, all in all, this is how the game was meant to be developed. We either accept or not. I see both good and bad points. I just hope EA doesn't screw things up. There's alot of potential here.

In a way, I liked ME1 Armor and Weapons (and Bio-Amp & Omni-Tool) customization system better than I did ME2's ambiguous upgrade system. Yes ME1 had the problem where there was TOO much crap – manufactures and random crap to filter thru.

ME2 system just takes a slight problem from ME1 (glut) and guts it out for something else that just isn't as rewarding and feels totally alien to the game. It's a 180 in design when a simple adjustment was all that was required.

Weapons: ME1 system focused on 3 areas: Damage – Shots per Overheat (heat sink) – Accuracy. ME2 SHOULD have kept the same system, but dropped the number of manufactures to 3, each one whom specializes in each of the above categories.
  • 1 does that great damage, but average shots heat sink and average accuracy.
  • 1 that does average damage, but can fire almost 50% more shots per heat sink, still average accuracy.
  • 1 that does average damage and shots per heat sink, but has above average accuracy – some say the gun even aims for you.
  • NO supper end of all end weapons like the Spectre weapons found in ME1.

Armor: Same as Weapons but with its own 3 categories, Shields - Armor - Biotic/Tech/Special Protection. Each of your 3 manufactures specializing (meaning awesome above average stats) in ONE of the above categories.
Each of the armors can be specially color/pattern customized.

Same for Bio-Amps & Omni-Tools. 3 manufactures, each one specializing in the 3 categories below.
Bio-Amps: Biotic Damage - Biotic Cool-down - Biotic Duration.
Omni-Tools: Tech Damage - Tech Cool-down - Tech Duration.

This way, the player chooses and feels like they are making choices to their play style – just not random generic upgrades.

Finding upgrades would be like ME2 system, but instead of the generic upgrades, it would be finding an upgrade for that manufacture. You’ve found Manufactures better part – you would still have to go back to Normandy is spend resources to produce more for your whole squad to equip – and you get to choose what type of update to your squad you want. Do you want a strong powered Jack, or a Jack who fires off biotic powers like a machine gun.

The above does not need 10 levels like ME1 system, but maybe 4-5 levels per weapon and upgrade. Even if it was only 4. 4 upgrades for the 3 manufactures - that's a total of 12 options. 12 options per the 3 above (not counting weapons) and you have 36 available upgrades total.
If we count the 5 different type of standard weapons, another 60. A grand total of 96 upgrades.

Add in the ability to add bonus to armor (for ammo/shield/health/damage upgrades or faster recharge times) and you've got a strong rewarding system.

-maybe no more researching upgrades, you just bought. i mean, i just bought them. why do i have to scan planets so i can research the upgrades i already bought. it makes sense to research an upgrade when you somewhere found a blueprint, but not when you bought an upgrade imho. this would result in lesser scaning. Scanning planets is ok, but its a bit too much in me2 i think...

- better timing for the romance option. in me2 the moment wasn't very good i think.the collectors just took my hole crew! i was so angry. All i could think was : "****, they took my crew. i'm in a hurry, i need them back" . At that moment i couldn't care less about my romance option. so maybe a romance option which isn't tied to the main story...

- i really like the changes in the skill and combat system, but maybe the skill tree could be a little bit more broader. basically after you maxed out one skill, you could just choose between a heavy attack or a area attack..(heavy pull or area pull or something like that, don't remeber the names^^, etc.)

Squadmates: Kaidan, Liara, Garrus and Thane

Combat style: More micromanage of squadmates. It has def. improved from Me1, so it can only get better!

Main plot vs. sidequests: Perhaps an equal focus of both this time around.

A combo of Mako/Hammerhead and planet scanning

More para/ren interrupts

An m/m romance option, please!

Plenty of expansion and dlc opportunities to continue the Shepard adventures after s/he saves the galaxy

Rather than too many new faces, which were awesome this time around, let's have many more return. I think its safe to say in genereal most try to save as much if not all of the crew as possible.

Retain or add some more rpg elements, I'd rather keep the old inventory system and the old way of leveling up. Maybe a couple of character attributes, like persuasion, rather than depending on maxing out class.

I'll add Tali and Miranda, and other sas npc's or even squadmates

A chance to see TIM in person, whether to kill or shake his hand

If you turn Kaidan/Ash or Liara down for romance in ME1, I'd like to be able to romance them in ME3, esp. if Thane or Garrus dies/ does not return.
Edit:  Totally forgot to mention:  please write a cure for Thane, thanks!

My Wishes are:

Return of the Inventory and some Loot keep the Upgrade System.

See what a Quarian(you know who ^^ ) looks like underneath the Exo-Suit best in a sequence as swish as the one in ME1

A considerably bigger Character Development.

Keep the Shooter mechanic

An Elevator instead of a Loading Screen on Planets and Stations

Keep the Loyality Missions

I was really angry that EDI activated the Reaper Device before i was ready.

Bring back a Vehicle.

When scanning a planet light up the quadrant where minerals are located.

Keep Normandy control on the system map

Keep the Fuel but give the player infinite probes.

I really liked how the Crew from ME1 evolved for instance that Wrex could not join you because he has his own Clan now.

Somekind of Consequnce when you have a Romance in both parts.

The Conversation System form ME2 i awesome keep it.

so that have been my five Cent

Let me start by saying that what bioware was able to achieve In ME2 was AMAZING. I cant think of another game like it. I loved ME2..... BUT..... it still lacks that super customizable feel that i was really hoping for. i was a little impressed with the ability to change the color of your uniform....but that is nowhere near enough! There should be at least 5 base armors (not just the n7) That you can fully manipulate.

It would be good to customize your character ingame...Like having a "Normandy Barber" to change hairstyles.....and on the subject of hair... More hairstyles!!!!.....The worst part of creating your character is the very limited assortment of hair-dos..i mean come on you are a REBEL now...you should be able to have dreadlocks if you want. Anything that has to do with Customization can be DRAMATICALLY IMPROVED!!!!! ARE YOU PaYING ATTENTION BIOWARE!!!!

It would also be great to have your crew walking around the ship. Its kind of crazy that they are always in the same place doing the exact same thing.... Its a small detail but it would really make the game a little more fluent....and more realistic. Even if its just carrying boxes across the room. They should be moving...Not just sitting there.

more interaction with non-essential memebers of the crew....everyone on the ship should have a purpose. Though the interaction is alot better than ME1 it still has a cut and paste type of feel to it.... (example...Kelly Chambers...sure you can get some...but after that theres only 3 questions you can ask her????).

The cerberus system is a little dissappointing....you should be able to share character faces and stats with other ME Junkies across the planet(or universe...for all the turians and batarians out there). I was under the impression that the 1200 microsoft points i spent were going to a highly interactive Network of Joy, Co-Op missions and Downloadable armors...instead i get a character that i cant even talk too......smh. yes yes i know that it is only in the early stages....but its time to crank it up a notch...it just seems like a waste of memory right now.

It wouldnt hurt to have better weapon upgrades either...(Silencers....Sawed off barrels......rail extensions...after all this is a SHOOter/ RPG). Maybe we shouldnt ditch scanning altogether but there should be things that you can just buy from the stores...i would be happy if bioware just put one wal-mart type store on one planet where you can just splurge.

LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST.......MULTIPLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! maybe this is too much of a request but think about it mr.hudson. You can use the same level designs and have capture the flag, hold the fort, space battles, space races, maybe even an online campaign...it would be even better than COD or halo. You can use any of your characters faces or you can create your own multiplayer character. You can;t deny that it would be the one of the biggest multi-player experiences ever...so why wait??? Keep in mind that the multiplayer should only be available after one playthrough is completed...that keeps the story first and protects the dynasty which is Mass effect.

As players we apperciate what ME2 has done...but dont let the reviews fool you....this game can be ALOT better. If ME3 is in fact the final chapter then we as players expect nothing short of creative/artistic bliss. Prove to us the Bioware is the new improved square-enix!!!!

Really, my biggest wish for Mass Effect 3 is not to trash away all the characters we have grown to love.

It seems like this is gonna be the case, because how everyone can die in the end of Mass Effect 2.

But still, that is my 'wish'  that all these characters can be a cruial/squadmate/love interest/ or still just as important as they were in the previous games.

If you can figure out how to do it some-how bioware, that is all I want.

Honor our choices and focus on our personal interests better.

This means don't do another "Liara cameo" where a love interest completely ignores the fact that you were in a relationship the last time you met. This especially needs improvement.

Liara/Ash/Kaidan definitely need to be squadmates. Another "they're important to the story as cameos!!" dodge of this issue is not satisfactory, as these characters were crap in ME2.

It also means if a character hated us in the previous game, don't default them into affectionate and loving in the next game (IE: Tali). Tali hated my renegade Shepard in ME1, but she didn't reflect that at all. I also left Garrus on the Citadel in that playthrough and he still treated me like a long-lost friend.

Forcing characters into roles after specifically giving choices in the previous game = crap. Again with Garrus. I taught him to be paragon in ME1, and he reverted to douchebag in ME2. If you're going to throw things like this in the game, it's nice to see them carry over, and it's garbage to see them completely ignored. And it's not like you put too much effort into carry-overs as it is; most of them are simple and generic emails with no real meaning, so you have plenty of room to improve on the important ones.
