Working my way through the game on insane as an infiltrator and loving it. I find you really have to think in terms of a squad. I miss fighting geth. I don't know why, I just loved fighting those robot SOBs. The story isn't as good, sadly, but still serviceable. As for game-play I feel like they stripped out most of the bad from ME1 and replaced it with awesome.

The only really broken part of the game IMHO is planet-scanning. I actually nodded off twice.

Even if you kept the same basic system, make the mineral pay-offs larger, the scanner quicker, and the info more detailed "i.e platinum rich etc", "large polar iridium deposits." That, and maybe a few more anomalies, better xp for anomalies and/or a small xp bonus for a certain level of minerals extracted.

As for fine-tuning ... why am I exploring discovered inhabited worlds and stealing their minerals from orbit? Say a new mass-relay is found that leads to unknown portions of galaxy and other relays (possible story tie-in recruit/warn them against the Reapers).

Shepard's helmet should be hanging from his belt in hubs. I was afraid for a second I'd have to "seduce" Morinth in my Cerberus armour. I'd already tried to drink "through" it.

A little more depth/development in the romantic plot.

A little more variation in the character models. I joked with my wife that Mass Effect 3 should be sub-titled "There are no fat people in space." Everyone comes off an assembly line.

Catalogs: I should be able to flip through the Saronis etc catalog and a list of of outlets and MSRP prices to plan my shopping. Additionally, I'd like a quick diagram overview available of each item and its upgrade slot, both filled and and empty. Mind you, you may still find some backwater/black market holes-in-the-wall.

A diagram display of Shepard with his "armour" slots and what is in each. Finally, a tally of his overall stats for each proposed build: ie. +5 health, +20 storm speed etc.

A variable bonus in $$ and minerals, xp bonus, AND paragon/renegade points depending on the difficulty level of the previous play-through. Or the option for no bonus if you're feeling hardcore.

A mission where you have the option of nuking a Mako. Then nuking the Mako-crater. A beach ball has better handling.

Selling excess minerals?

Of course, more and better is always better ... better A.I, graphics, story etc but those are my main tweaks to the main irritants of the game as it is.

Mass Effect 3...
I need to enter the perseus veil. However I will personally see too it that my Shepard dies if I can "play" as a Geth Hunter. The game requires a massive look-over right now, I need to see every possible nebula and cluster that is possible, it's perfect for my mapping plans. However the most perfect would be having the ability to play as another race.
...Those are my current thoughts on Mass Effect 3

i wish they would bring back some of the first ones size. i loved going around to other planets in the mako, as ****ty as it was, driving to the highest point and sniping enemies from an elevated position. it was less linear and i could assault bases the way i saw fit. i would like them to fix the problems with the mako, or even let us keep the hover tank instead but keep the gameplay less linear than 2. i would like to customize my vehicles also, paint them different colors, all that. same with guns, by putting attachments on them. i would like to have the option of attaching scopes to certain weapons, and making guns more accurate with other attachments. i am sticking with wanting to shoot Udina, or throw him out of his office window. he keeps impeding our efforts to save the galaxy, and i would like to kill him. it would make me pretty damn happy.

he could if his conciseness was uploaded to a Reaper (ok that's kinda thin) but my wish other than the Helmet crap is that your teammates are able to once again holister their weapons when your character does like in ME1.....DUH!

That would be AWESOME. and two hearts, the ability to spit acid, and a BOLTER!!!! Ok, just kidding on that one.

In keeping with the "New Ship" thread-

Shepards frigate has been useful thus far, but its time is nearly up. Against an entire fleet made up of tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of dreadnoughts, Shepard obtains his newest charge: The prototype Dreadnought, the Can o' Whoop Ass. Named after a volcano that exploded much like an exploding can of beans in 2086, the Can o' Whoop Ass is the most powerful ship of its size ever constructed. A gift from the Alliance after proving your loyalty by destroying the Collector base and severing ties with Cerberus, it is now used as Shepards base of operations, it features:

EDI
a.EDI ran the Normandy, and EDI has been expanded to help maintain your new headquarters, even while Shepard is not there.

-Weapon hard points
a. These hardpoints are located on the exterior of the ship, (working idea- symmetric on both sides, one giant hardpoint for a big cannon in the middle, and some on top and bottom). These are used for equipping all kinds of weapons, from (auto-targeting) anti-missile/projectile weapons to larger, far more powerful anti-everything-planet blower-uppers.
     I. Weapon types- as stated above the anti-projectile weapons auto target incoming projectiles once they are    within a certain range. Other weapons, that face forward, can either be aimed and fired manually, or the targeting computer will auto-lock and you can fire at will.

-Customizability-the ability to make it your own- nearly all aspects, except its size can be customized
a.   The interior- the tiny collectable items in Mass Effect 2 were a good start, now expanded. Keep in mind though, that while it costs credits to fully accessorize the Can o' Whoop Ass, your squadmates and crew will probably not be happy working in a roving piece of trash (Not forced upgrades, but extraneous comments like "It would be nice if the bathrooms had a couple more stalls." Just a suggestion, not entirely serious). The ability to personalize/ accessorize (I feel like a girl whenever I use that word. No offense, but men don't usually accessorize) squad cabins to fit the personal tastes of the squadmates who reside there. For instance Mordin would get a much larger, more expensive (looking, at least) lab, Miranda would get a suitable second-in-command room, with monitors all over monitoring things. For all squadmates, each room now has a bed, so they don't have to pull 180 hour days because they have no bed to sleep in. Although you Love interest could use yours. *wink*

b.The exterior- As a freaking huge Dreadnought, stealth is not an option. So go to town creating your flourescent pink and blue Cans O' Whoop Ass, it will make the Reapers defeat that much more humiliating, because no one, not even super advanced robots, wants to be defeated by a giant pink ship. Also, the new Headquarters requires a new logo, so either design away (much like the logo creator in Armored Core, or the ability to create one on PC then move to Xbox,) or choose from an already drawn design.

c. Armor, Shields, and Engines- Much like Mass Effect 2, your dreadnought will have the options to upgrade its shields, armor, and now even its engines. Maybe as  time passes, new advances are made, allowing better armor, better shields and quicker engines/power sources. (maybe a limit on the amount of stuff you can use at once. Maybe you can have the best guns and the best engines, but when in intense battles-space battles FTW- you move slower, but at the same time, your weapons are more available. Think the overheat system from Mass Effect 1. Using the engines for speed increases the heat so you couldn't use the weapons to their full extent, but using the weapons to their full extent doesn't allow the full use of the engines speed). Also, upgrades similar to the ones in Mass Effect 2, such as an upgraded targeting computer for a faster auto-lock, ammo upgrades, additoin of more weapon hard points, and more.

Other ships, aka vehicles
a. If it ain't broke...- The SR2 is still in excellent condition despite the beating it took taking on the Collector base. The Can O' Whoop Ass is too slow to catch freighters and fighters, but the Normandy can. It still has its upgrades from Mass Effect 2, and they are used again, in more ways than just dodging debris. Also, the Normandy is the primary exploration vessel.
I.Since it is no longer your headquarters, the squadmates rooms do not serve the same purpose, instead providing areas for the squad to simply be. Also, the enginnering deck has had a bed installed, because apparently going up an elevator is too difficult.

b. The exterior-Seeing as how the SR2 now belongs to Shepard, he can do with it as he/she pleases. Keep in mind this vessel was created for the purpose of stealth, so a light blue color would not be a wise idea when chasing down pirates. It tends to contrast to the black of space. Also, the new insignia will replace the Cerberus one (unless you stayed Cerberus in Mass Effect 2).

c. The other vehicles-The hammerhead and such are still used as surface vehicles.
     I. However, now they can be upgraded for better weapons, propulsion, armor, and shields. The new logo will be tacked on, as well as the ability to customize color.

Shepards flagship as a hub
a. The ship is not a full fledged marketplace, but it does have its own requisition officer, allowing Shepard to buy and sell armor, weapons, and even spare minerals.

Whose crew? Your crew!
a. Your entire crew, save the ones you didn't save, are back, and ready for action, plus a few dozen more (NPCs, random crew memebers like in the mess hall and whatnot).

b. Interactions-Your crew is no longer the separated group of loners that it was. They occasionally walk about the ship, eating food in the mess hall, or sleeping, or chilling with other squadmates in the barracks and playing some Skyllian Five.

Stay tuned, more to come.

This probably should have gone before the ship one, but here it goes.

The ability to have battle/fights in space. Chasing pirates, mercs, etc, fighting them off (or helping them, if you wish) for more minerals, a cut of the loot, or maybe piracy doesn't jive well with Shepard.

The upgrades need to mean something other than looking nice.

Living Cities.

Random Encounters.

These two things will give me a reason to keep playing after finishing the game. As it stands, I just stop in whenever a DLC is released for the half hour to hour of new play (unless its new weapons that I can't use, since every enemy has been killed), then shelve the game again.

I agree.

Living cities- Make it so that when I leave a hub and come back, the same NPCs aren't in the exact same place talking about the exact same thing. Maybe they roam, or maybe they stop talking after a while.

Random Encounters- I kind of included this in my New Ship suggestion: I would love random encounters with Mercs, pirates, or whatever, even after the reapers are defeated. This would also go with living cities: people recognize you, and after you defeat the Reapers, almost everyone recognizes you, and you get praised for defeating the galactic menace.

Also, Larger hubs. Illium and the Citadel were/are much too small. They need to be expanded. Combine Zakera Ward with the Citadel from Mass Effect 1 and make the "thriving business center" of Illium actually seem like a business center, with more than two levels.

as for random encounters, it would be pretty easy to implement. no matter what the last decision you made was, you pissed off someone. if you did what TIM wanted, then you pissed off the alliance, if you didnt, then you pissed off cerburus. either way, they could send hitmen to take you out. it would be a lot like KOTOR, when they kept sending people to kill you.

This is a thought that popped in my head.
I wish ME3 will have all squadmates at launch.
A weapon selection ranging from 3-6 per weapon class at launch.
A vehicle with planetary exploration at launch.
Squad armor.
A helmet toggle.
Increased inter-squad banter and interaction. Meaning I can talk to the squad outside of the Normandy and they have conversations with each other.
Larger hubs similar to The Citadel in ME1.
Radar that stays on the screen.
A HUD that displays shields and health of each member of the team in a mission, also for a vehicle.
Grenades.
Stores where you an buy and sell.
If there is a mini-game that consists of gathering, then I want the option to be able to sejj excess materials for credits.
I want more conversational missions like the intro missions on Noveria, Feros, and Samantha Bhatia.
I want cover to remain a viable option but I would like fights where cover is not mandatory.
