I would like to have the Hammerhead back for ME3. I didn't get to use it enough with the DLC. It was fun.

I agree mostly with the points raise in the OP. I hope when ME3 comes out it steers back towards RPG rather than action shooter which ME2 seems to be heading towards.

class specific dialogue options, simple example my Shepard being an Infiltrator could talk Infiltrating with Thane, or a soldier could give someone good tactical advice before a shootout. I guess I'd just like your class choice to matter during conversations and not just in combat.

Oh and I want my infiltrator to be holding a Sniper Rifle rather than an assault rifle during cut scenes.

First of all I'd like to thank Bioware for this great game. It is defenately one of the best (if not the best) I have ever played. Maybe it is not only better than the original KotoR (also by Bioware), so guys, thank you alot for giving us this thrilling and fantastic experience. The end for this incredible saga is near, and we fans want it to be perfect, and I know you guys can do it. So here are my suggestions to make the final game the perfect experience.

Here they are:

  • Keep the action-driven combat, the second game achieved it perfectly, and all the classes were balanced. But, the scenarios were very linear, it is clear that you can't make an open-world level if you want to keep the action intense, but given some "path choices" would already make it great, would make the player feel more in command.
  • In Mass Effect 2, things didn't feel "connected", for example, in the Normandy, every time we used the elevator we had to wait for a load, and we didn´t see the elevator moving, I know sometimes it got annoying to wait for the elevator every time in Mass Effect 1, but it felt more like a real ship, the connections between its parts were perfect.
  • I am a PC gamer, so this suggestion only applies to the PC version of the game: PC gamers love to be able to customize their experience, and the modern PC hardware is much better than the 360's, so it would be very nice to give us the option to run on DirectX 10, which has native Anti-Aliasing, and giving us the option to ajust the field of view (a field of view slider), Mass Effect 2 had a very low FoV, opposite to the first game, which was, in ways, more confortable to play than the second.
  • This applies to the PC version again: You guys have in your hands one of the most powerful engines of all time, and this engine uses the best physics library of all time, the PhysX. PC hardware is capable of producing very complex physics effects (when there is a PPU or PhysX powered GPU), so an option to enable advanced physics would be perfect. Of course not everyone can process those effects, so an option to turn it on/off is the way to go. As not everyone is able to use it, it is not possibile to use the advanced physics as a gameplay element, but it can easily enhance the game only by giving us better effect, for example, relistic particles when shooting things, physics cloth and flags, particles when using biotics and realistic smoke that moves and interacts with the characters and objects thrown on it. I dream of being able to use Push in a flag and see it moving. Those effects are not possible in the X360 version, but even though you can add a little more physics to it (not advanced as mentionned above), but simple physics, like objects that move when shot or hit by a biotic abbility. The game feels alot "flat" when you shoot something and it remains static, is seems the wolrd is "frozen". This (which can be done in the X360 and in PCs without PPU or PhysX powered GPU) would match perfectly to the advanced PhysX effects.
Those for me are the major changes that should be made in the third game, it would add alot to it's experience, and it can make it be the definitive game. Thanks for your attention! :wizard:

I'd liek to add give me back my companion interactions!

Every ME2 companion is 95% isolated from every other companion. Virtually every companion seems to hardly know the others are there.

Give me less companions that are more filled out. !

I agree with Felipe's comments on path choices. The game engine stuff went over my head :) But yes, keep up with the state of the art. The improvement on graphics and animations from ME1 to 2 was terrific, keep it up.

Absolutely no on the OP's desire for the old inventory system. It was tedious in ME1, slowing down otherwise terrific action sections. The new system is brilliant as it distills loot down to only things the character cares about, as well as getting rid of the need to continually swap around items. The only request would be for more "research paths", preferably more than the player can have, forcing decisions about what types of equipment and tech to focus on.

Like the OP, I missed the Mako in ME2, but agree that the controls were iffy at times. Make the Hammerhead a replacement, or bring back the Mako with vehicle parts of missions (like Vermire and Feros).

Bleh to Planet Scanning. How about using the Hammerhead to mine?

Resources-- make stores where you can buy/sell minerals. The prices would vary from planet to planet, so a saavy player will figure out where to shop-- or even make a bit of side cash from importing minerals (might want to designate a cargo capacity for the Normandy to keep that under control).

Just one example of an advanced phsics effect possible when using a PPU or PhysX powered GPU (again, only possible on PC, but as the game is also in the X360, and this doesn´t affect the gameplay by any means, it is easy to just take it out from the console version, like many games do, Mirror´s Edge for example).

Advanced Cloth Effect, can be used in some scenario objects, like flags, or even in characters, pretty dam realistic, would love to see its effect uppon releasing a biotic power:

Again, this is already in Unreal Engine 3 (the PhysX physics library), so Bioware could easily implement those efeccts.

Another video showing some PhysX Effect in Mirror´s Edge (another Unreal Engine 3 Game): Watch in HD to notice the effects better.

Keep in mind that you need a specific hardware to run those effects, but they can be easily implemented, and they optional, so even if you can´t run the effects, you will still be able to play the game as if the effects were never implemented. Mirror´s Edge was released for PS3, X360 and PC, and this feature was only available in the PC version, though, again, this was not a oblidged feature, you could just turn it off if it was affecting the perfomance, or you wouldn´t even have the possibility to turn it on (if you don't have the hardware for example). My point here is that it won´t affect those who can't use it in any way, but will enhance the game experience by miles for those who can afford it.

Here's a couple thoughts for ME3 (sorry if i repeat what peoples have said but i could'nt be bothered going through 119 pages of entries)

1. Bring back the mako and keep the hammerhead and give you the option to choose which vehicle you want to eject when scouring open explorable planets like in ME1.

2. Bring back the elevator cut scenes and racy cut scenes alike from the first ME. (To hell with the censors!)

3. Have controllable shepard flashback scenes to show more about his background story or just random jump flashback scenes within the game.

4. Have a city for each races homeworld.

5. Customisable weapons and armor for squad members.

6. More tactical based squad control. (Garrus sniper support etc etc)

7. Give tank based characters like Grunt a gatling gun!. lol

8. question - whats the point of the strip dancing scenes from ME1 and in ME2 the romance spots in shepards cabin? Seems to be just like a screen saver.

9. More side quests in cities (i.e citadel)

10. DON'T bring back kaiden or ash, they'll kill the story by being more boring.

11. Make earth a controllable city planet like citadel.

12. When taking cover have automatic weapons like submachine gun be able to shoot around the corner without
moving the whole character around the corner (no aim coz it looks cool XD).

13. Have characters like thane a dual weapon character (hand guns etc).

14. A main mission about the shadow broker.

15. I don't think melee weapons are necessary as some others have pointed out.

16. Make EDI on the normandy a hologram like the citadel information holograms instead of that funky ass ball thing she is atm.

17. Have a new character join the group and find out it was someone sent to assassinate Thane to kill him off rather than waiting for him to die from some disease. You know assassin to kill another assassin and have the assassin related to the shadow broker as a contract kill.

18. NO MULTIPLAYER! and no online play. I kinda like the way it is already :).

19. Bring back Liara.

20. Since shepard was brought back to life by new tech. there should be more enhancements to his body like crazy eyes like the "elusive man".

21. Get rid of shepards hamster and replace it with a puppy or cat lol

22. Have more funny argument scenes with garrus and tali. Like in ME2 she tells garrus 2 shutup and makes a reference 2 her shotgun. Make it so the threats show like she gets abit more agitated and pulls the gun out on him and u hear the gun charging up XD

23. Focus more on this game towards PC users.

Honestly in ME3 the game should last longer than the original ME because ME2 to me seemed a little limited with the story hence the game didn't last as long. As to what L3G3Nd said is that the game should probably span over more discs to give a more decent story....avoid a number of dvd discs and put it on a blu-ray disc. >XD

1. More armor, outfits and accessories for your Shepard
2. a Gatling gun for soldier class
3. be abler to customize your Shepard body
4. more weapons upgrades
5. a dreadnought Normandy
6. more armor, outfits and accessories for your squad mates
7. two new squad members to join your squad
8. bring back a old squad mates Liara, Ashly, Rex and Kaiden for last ride
9. one or two missing playing as joker
10. to see tail without her mask on.
11.  to have hotter love scene then ME2 and the option to have a threesome. I'm not saying to have a Wild Things or Monsters ball type scene's but same thing like the first ME but with little more edge to them meaning not to be afraid to show a little T&A.

At least I'm not the only one who thinks that :D

I don't know about the other gamers, but I would like to see more big boss fights. There was only one and it was pretty fun. The other boss fights are... well... just destroy their shield/armor and they are so easy it's not a challenge. I don't mean like 10 big enemies that takes all screen. Just 3 or 4 real boss battles would be just great.

Love the game, love the story, but i wish i could give my team their zero atmosphere helmets all the time.  You guys spent a lot of time making the armor and helmets in this game look super awesome and i want to see them all not just the two i have with me on a certain mission. Thats about all i need to get a third installment of mass effect everything else is perfect.

I hope ME3 is full of rivals, old enemies, new threats, and storylines. They should allow way more choices and consequences. I hope everything your character has done in the previous games shows a specific and very detailed response in the 3rd game. This will make the player want to play all of the games over to get different endings and outcomes. Bioware should also allow homosexuality as a choice with the male characters. The game should appeal to everyone! The game should make you want to unlock bonuses, different outcomes, upgrades, and crew memebers. I hope the team consists of all the old members who survived from ME1 and ME2, and new faces.

Done a play through on ME2- and then ME1 to bring up a new character with all the options and such. Probably the best way to look at the two games and compare them if you want to truthfully. Everyone is already set on the vehicle/inventory/etc changes. The biggest difference I noticed between the two however is the depth of the party characters, and even the story NPCs. Certainly in ME2, they have their moments, more thrown at them, etc, but you don't get a sense of who they are built over the hours and doing the side missions as you did in ME1. There's less time for party members to get interaction with one another, and it feels as though you're being pushed through to some of the mission conclusions. There was a sense of being led around on a leash until past the first act, and then you were finally able to go take missions, go where you want, and dance around for no reason as it were.

The missions, on both recruitment and loyalty were fantastic, well paced though unfortunately linear. It lost some of that exploration feel in ME1 where any mission you did could spawn one or two more, simply be trying to complete the first. Only on Illium did I end up running back and forth to try and complete multiple objectives and have to prioritize what I was doing and that was on the main city, not the mission sidelines.

Somehow ME2 managed to feel smaller, and even completing all the missions and such on it, ended me a great many hours under what I invested into ME1. I cheered for several of the characters, some of them had great moments, and using them as a whole team was an exciting change. But I didn't feel as 'close' to them as I had previously.

And the romance subplots? It felt empty comparatively, to the previous flirtations. Perhaps due in part to having so many members to pick from, attention is spread out there is something for everyone. However, the G rate of the romance relied more on quick humor than actual interaction.

Otherwise- Great game.

I know ME2 was supposed to be the "Dark second act". But i'd love to see some of the more idyllic locations return. ME2 had so many dirty locations, and that was great, but I think having some purity and beauty gives you something to fight for. it shows you what you're trying to preserve and protect.

I'd love to return to a few planets from ME1 and 2 and see how they've changed/progressed. See how eden prime has changed. See if horizon has recovered. I'd love Feros to look completely different depending on whether you killed the colonists or saved them.

Also i'd love to see the ME team really pick through Dragon Age and take inspiration from it's good points. Character interaction had much more depth, with squadmates speaking to each other and also being able to communicate outside your camp (or the normandy for ME). The approval meter would be great, with certain squadmates leaving if you're too paragon or too renegade. It'd be great to have squadmates who won't even join you unless you're paragon or renegade to encourage multiple playthroughs. A squadmate who will only join your squad if you met him or her as a NPC in ME1 or 2 (perhaps Parsini?) to reward people who've played through previous games.

Basically a squad that's malleable. Make it impossible to experience every squad member in one playthrough. Reward those players who import from ME1 and ME2.

Another thing: One thing with ME1 that ME2 lacked was non-linear, story based missions. ME2 was a little bit too much of a shooter. Short missions with a fairly basic context for shooting for the most part. I liked ME1's longer missions with more intergrated story, exploration, combat and intrigue more than ME2's 'shoot through x enemies to get to your target' template.
