Attention! I copied my old posting and added some new stuff in it.

Here is an Idea for the Storyline there. After defeating the Collectors, Sheppard decides to give life to a new ELITE Unit!! His VERY OWN N7 Unit. That means, Sheppard will have Tali'zorah build N7 Armors for the WHOLE Squad... he will also remove the Cerberus Logo from the Normandy and replace it with the N7. Normandy will always remain the Normandy, but after some time of thinking, Sheppard wants his team (new as old squad members) to become one Elite Unit! And everyone shoud wear the N7 Suit! The Illusive Man as well (If Bioware decides to make him join Commander Sheppard)

Now.. how would a Krogan look with a full N7 Suit of Armor? Urdnot Wrex and Urdnot Grunt in N7 Suits.. now that would make a marvellous picture!

Imagine Tali'zoran building her own N7 Suit in Quarian Style?

As for Liara, Miranda, Ashley, Samara, Thane, Jack, Jacob in their own Style.

BUT.... before Sheppard gives out the N7 Armors to the NEW (Mass Effect 3 characters) Squad Members, EVERYONE MUST complete a certain Task Sheppard wishes them to complete. Of course Sheppard is going to accompany them and judge them after the task is complete.

The researching system is cool, scanning planets is also a nice thing, but I miss the vehicle. Perhaps some other type of Mako would do the trick. Or perhaps 2 or 3 types of vehicles. We could let Our Squad members think of Upgrade Ideas and share them with Sheppard after recruiting.

For example:

Tali'zorah is a master mechanist and is able to build EVERYTHING... when we bring her a schematic for an Armor, Vehicle, Ship technology. We could also have Tali'zorah building the N7 Armors for the Squad. And even if we bring her just JUNK, she would think of a way to make something good out of it :) She could team up with Jacob for that.

The Shopping was a little... well.. bad in Mass Effect 2 because there weren't not enough Planets and not Enough shops for good shopping. Imagine a lady Sheppard (played by a female player) wanting to do some shopping... but there is too little.. Bioware.. the women will shoot you up to the moon hehe :) Because we all know that the women LOVE to go shopping.

The Normandy should have some more Sectors to visit / explore:

-A bar (like Jacob mentioned it) and the barkeeper should give us quests to bring him, cocktail Recipes, buy Supplies (for the crew). So the crew can go and drink after work. The bar should also have a stage with a Band which performs music from classic swing to modern pop / rock / electronic stuff.

-A Karaoke Machine. I would love to see Mordin performing that song again hehe and of course other classic / modern Songs. Even Sheppard should try to sing hehe. Of course after drinking a glass or 2 :)

-A restaurant for the gourmets in our squad. The Cook should also give us the one or another Quest for Supplies or Recipes or both. Just similiar to Rupert who gave us the Supply Quest.

-Like Garrus mentioned in one of the Dialogs... a fighting Arena, supervised full contact sparring. I would LOVE to see Wrex and Grunt running that place :) And perhaps some Normandy full contact fighting Championship! Sheppard CAN particpate but he DOESN'T HAVE TO. He can participate and become the Champion or just relaxing and watching, placing a bet on whoever he thinks he has the guts :)

-RACING TRACK!!! I do not know if the Normandy has that much space for something like that, but Joker would LOVE IT. For the Squad's and Sheppards entertainment. I mean. Always fighting fighting and fighting again isn't the way a good game should work if you ask me.

A Gym: everyone needs to train a little and do something for their bodies! Imagine the women talking about becoming fat hehe :)

Old and new Squadmembers:

-Urdnot Wrex is NEEDED for ME 3. He can leave Tuchanka for a while and have Shaman (for example) taking over the leadership over the Krogan as long as Wrex is absent

-Giana Parsini was a very interesting charakter back in Mass Effect 1. She would make a super detective, a super "paper pusher" and a good Infiltrator.

-Liara T'Soni..... is there more to say? Of course not. I would like to discover the true identity of the shadow broker and his background story.

-The Illusive Man is now in a pretty bad situation after the events in the Collector Base. I would like to have him on the Normandy. AND I would like to know who he really is. He would make a good squad member and perhaps a good mentor for Liara :)

-Kal'reegar and Vee'tor: having those 2 Quarians on the Normandy would be a great deal.

-Urdnot Grunt! Is there more to say?

-Kaidan or Ashley. One of those MUST return to the Normandy. They simply must because I cannot imagine a Mass Effect 3 without one of those. I simply can't!

-Oriana Lawson. Now... I wonder how it would be having Oriana as a Squad mate? I would love it.

-Thane and his son. Well Thane's son now works for the C Sec right? How about recruiting him into the Normandy Squad? I think it would be a great deal.

-Konrad Werner. Well this guy gave Sheppard a lot of trouble. So how about we give him a chance to prove himself as a worthy member of Sheppard's Squad? What I mean is... I don't really thing that Konrad is a complete moron. I would like to recruit him.

Zaeed and Kasumi. I would love to see those 2 in my Squad.

The "gaining loyalty" system was awesome indeed. Please keep it and DO NOT THROW IT AWAY!

just my 2 credits :)

Greetings from Germany

Thanks for the explanation about engines, Felipe.  Yes, would love to see cloth effects, providing there's a way to turn them off for lower performance computers.

ME2 was a little bit too much of a shooter. Short missions with a fairly basic context for shooting for the most part. I liked ME1's longer missions with more intergrated story, exploration, combat and intrigue more than ME2's 'shoot through x enemies to get to your target' template.

To be fair, I think ME2 had many sections that were not straight shoot 'em ups.  Think of Samara and Thane's loyalty missions.  Even in the shooting missions, there were some really powerful plots-- Mordin and Jack's really moved me.

What ME2 didn't have was that exploration feeling.  I think if they added a few explorable planets like ME1 had, it would change that.

A few thoughts that came to my mind as I was falling asleep last night.

Gameplay-wise, I think ME2 was a step in the right direction in a lot of ways. I'm sure there are plenty of people who will pick this apart endlessly, so I'm going to leave it alone. It's not what matters the most to me anyway. What does matter to me are story and characters, so on that note:

I have heard several people talk about how ME2 feels much more "episodic" and I'm inclined to agree with them. I think I finally put my finger on why.

In ME1, your squad kind of naturally built itself as you went about pursuing the main quest. You never went somewhere with the sole purpose of finding and recruiting someone; you went somewhere with a main quest-related objective, like finding evidence to prove Saren's treachery on the Citadel, and in the process meet people who later join up with you. In ME2, the majority of the missions involve you going places specifically to recruit people, which contributes to the feeling of the missions being separate and not fitting together as pieces in a larger whole. I personally much preferred the way ME1 handled it.

Also, personal quests for followers have been a staple of Bioware RPGs since the NWN days and before.  I don't have a problem with them, and I think it's a good way to explore more of a character's backstory, but I can only think of one time when a personal quest had a direct influence on a character's life or death, and that is the Wrex's Family Armor in ME1.  And even there, Wrex could still die with the quest complete if you played your cards wrong (or right, depending on how you look at it) and you could still save him even if you didn't do the quest if you wanted to and your persuade was high enough.  Bioware essentially forced us to do these "loyalty quests" in ME2 (if we cared about our team surviving, at least), which further contributed to the episodic feel of the game.

And don't even get me started on being forced to work with Cerberus in ME2. I'd like to kick whichever member(s) of the dev team thought that was a good idea. In ME3 I think Paragon Sheps should have the option to go back to the Alliance, or at least the Council, or at the very least operate independently and not be under TIM's thumb. I hope every last Cerberus logo is gone from the Normandy and from my crew's uniforms in ME3.

And last but not least: Kaidan/Ash and Liara as recruitable squadmates in ME3. This is not optional.

it was good to Miranda and Jacob as crewmembers even if the diden't have so many dialogues. But to have playthrough Mass Effect 1 and know's there ethics and then get forced to work with them, that's not good.

First of all wasnt mass effect franchise SCI-FI RPG ME2 is nothing like that, it's more like gear of wars which is one of the uglyest game`s.Where are the stats some % i see whic it sucks if i whanted fps bc2 is here.GAME PLAY SUCKS disappointing your (shield is useless) health and is low from two shots and your dead compearing you need to empty two weapons to kill some lesser character.laser shots move slover, thermal clips sucks how do you reload a laser weapon!!!stupid!!! you speand all the time in cover during fight`s.upgrading weapons is boring going around the ship and thru stores to upgrade a wep.ho needs to spend that much time to upgrade a weap.squad menu is worse not better(stats and skill)whay do you cach lvlups when you cant upgrade every lvl .where are the weapons, ammo upgrades, wep improvements, armor, armor upgrades.where are the medi-gel,and granates.macco and exploring planets, where`s that?

Why in the hell do you put physx.Physx makes game look bad, slow and its ugly feature,i may say worst in the universe.

all of this needs improvement.they could make some random generating of maps and small missions(to upgrade and lvl up) for exploring planets, aneed to be able to land everywhere at the planet.

Armor:
1) Let's get some actual armor for the squad members. I like the designs Bioware used, but let's face it they'd be useless in combat against hyper accelerated slugs.
2) More armor customization. The color patterns specifically. Look at the scorpion armor from ME1 yea we have the camo but we also have the black arm plates and such. I liked that, lets get it back.
Weapons:
1) How about an Army of Two style weapon customization screen. Take a base weapon and give add ons to it that will upgrade its abilities. or even some that help some aspects at the expense of others. Not just something that affects stats but also appearance.
2)GRENADES! I love the heavy weapons, love em to death. But honestly what commando unit doesn't have grenades for clearing a room upon entry.
3) Get rid of the punching. Maybe use a knife for a melee or a pistol whip. the rifle bashing makes sense but a punch seems silly.
Commander Shepard:
1) More content relating to the background history. We all wanna see Earth sure. But lets also see what happened to Mindoir or how Sheps mom is doing. I think that would help flesh out the back stories a bit more
2) New facial reconstruction. I mean like more hairstyles and such, nothing really major. Make it possible to change Sheps hair without having to reconstruct the entire face.
Squad Members:
1) More conversations. Plain and simple. I felt like we got to know the characters a lot more in ME1 and I wish we could keep it going after the endgame.
2) Deeper romance plots. Something that feels like a relationship rather than a short hookup.
Normandy:
1) Have the crew move around a bit, interact with shepard and the other crew more.
2) Maybe a custom paint job. I mean if you were paragon you basically stole it from TIM. why not paint it as you wish?
3) More personalization of the Captains Cabin. maybe you can put weapons on the wall, trophies of war what have you.
Exploration and planets:
1) lets find a happy medium between the wide open spaces of ME1 and the linear designs of ME2.
2) The vehicle. I honestly didn't mind the Mako, it made plenty of sense to me, other than the angles it could climb. The hammerhead seems a bit odd to me. again just find a happy medium.

i agree with the melee actions. we may have grown past swords and giant hammers and stuff, but we will never trully get past a good old combat knife for close quarters combat. dont make it selectable, just make it so B can use the combat knife instead of doing that retarded elbow thing.

thanks, nothing would give me more satisfaction than a good ol' combat knife to the face of a batarian.

Hairdresser shops!!!
I missed the possibiliy to change the haircut and only the haircut after importing the character from ME1.
The choice apart from: a) "keep the old face (and the old haircut <_<)",
namely: B) "remodel the WHOLE face from 0" was way too difficult.
I kinda missed the choice c) "use the old face and make small alterations (like hair, beard/make up)".

OK, first of all I would like to say that mass effect 1&2 are the best games I have ever played. Excellent story (especially mass effect 2), fantastic gameplay, stunning graphics (especially in mass effect 2). Anyway, my wishlist for mass effect 3 are:

1. Bring back a vehicle like the Mako or the Firewalker and planet exploration like in mass effect 1 (not so linear though).

2. Create an excellent plot. Mass Effect's strongest card is its story (and the love interests).

3. Make the love interests play a crucial role in mass effect 3 (like saving the Commander, or being kidnapped and then the Commander trying to save them, or finding a way to defeat the R*****s and then being in great danger and so on) and only with their help will the Commander be able to defeat the R*****s. Also devote a large percentage of the main quest to them (much larger than any other squad mate, around 5-10 hours of gameplay at least should be missions about them).

4. Much more dialog (especially with love interests).

5. Make the Citadel larger.

6. Emphasize a little more on talents. Mass Effect 1 emphasized a little too much on talents and Mass Effect 2 emphasized a little too much on weapons.

7. Make Mass Effect 3 REALLY BIG. My suggestion would be around of 50-60 hours for the main quest plus another 20 hours for secondary quests.

8. Make the secondary quests become more connected with the main quest and with each other (for example you kill the leader of Eclipse and then they try to kill one of your squad mates who has left the ship temporally and then the next time you meet Eclipse they have a different leader and have changed their way of fighting, their armor, their weapons, etc and so on), make them vary, and make them more interesting.

9. Remove the planet scanner of mass effect 2 or change it (it is very tedious).

10. Bring back the inventory but with fewer items.

11. Fulfill the promises you made in mass effect 2 (like the promise the Commander made to Tali on the Alarei).

12. Be VERY CAREFUL with love interest's behavior  in mass effect 3 (for example do not make a very moral female squad mate like Tali a potential love interest for a female Shepard).

13. Make both Shepard and his/her love interest survive the game and continue to be a couple.

14. Make all Mass Effect 2 squad mates available in Mass Effect 3.

15. Bring back the elevator rides and the in-game comments from your squad mates.

16. No homosexual romance (except for the asari of course).

As you can see I pay great attention to the relationship between Shepard and his/her love interest. That is because I believe that the love interest's larger involvement in the game will make the game much more interesting and I was personally really emotionally moved by the relationship between Shepard and his love interest.

I hope we get ship combat/exploration. And the finale (like how the finale of me2 was that your entire squad works together on your orders) can be a fleet combat with shepard making big decisions that effect whether this race lives or dies.

Also I hope we revisit places from me1 and me2 in 3. Having all of the citadel merged together (with the old me1 citadel's look being updated to be as fancy as in 2) would be a neat one.

The elbow made sense to me personally. You're holding a weapon, you're not going to stow it away just to pull out a knife to stab/cut someone. It'd take too long, especially if you have to again pull out the weapon. The elbow keeps you in action. Like I said, it made sense to me.

On the other hand, elbowing certain enemies seems a bit... trivial.

That said, I think it'd be ideal if Shepard's combat gear came equipped with retractable forearm blades. The blades would stay retracted during normal activity so as not to be a hinderance, but would come out during the forearm attack. This way every elbow would also seem actually dangerous.
