Second ME is not only  an astonishing sequel to first ME. Its more like Mass Effect is one BIG game that has been divided to fit in DVD

Graphics are exelent  Rain efects in Pragia left me stunned with my mouth open for several minutes (9,8/10)
Level design is powerful  Walking around in partly ripped space ship in zero gavity, with chairs flying around and see planet trough hole in hull - beats anything i have seen for a looong time (9,6/10)
Combat system is versatile Heavy weapons ROCK !!! That pocket size nuke luncher made scream when i first fired it. Freezing, burning, throwing, smashing and exploiting enemies makes me play it again and again (9,7/10)
Plot is simply mind bending Once even my dad sat next to me to wach ME2 gameplay, because he found that plot more interesting than anything on TV. (11/10)

Both Mass Effect games are superb in most of the aspects. Anyway there always will be another thing to add, thats why i wanted not to focus on  things i would like to see, instead i will discuss
Things that didn't convice me in ME1&2 and certainly should be looked trough in ME3

Weapon firing restriction
OK, I understand you wanted not to loose realism in ME2, but now i get confused - Cryo technology Avelache has, can make 250 kg krogan warlord snap freeze in seconds but can not be used for cooling weapon barrel that wights few hundered grams. Thermal clips are ok but they sems to be SO ineffective. Posibility to somehow here use Normandy stealth system heat sinks also sounds fair enough for me.

Enviroment differences
Hazzads in ME1 weare great thing that made universe more realistic and dangerous place. An item that ME1 realy lacked is armor upgrade to minimize enviromental hazzard effect to your suit. Additional thermal layer for ice or volcano planets. Chemicaly resistant plating for toxic enviroment. etc. also should include notable gravity differences between planets Thermal hazzards should affect weapon overheat.

"New" alien races?
Why do most of the sapiens races in WHOLE UNIVERSE are SO human like - Two legs, two arms, body and head only things that vary are eye and finger count plus skin tone. Please be more creative and give us variety like Hanars, Rachnai, Geth, Reapers Thorian. These races weare interesting to the core. OK i didn't say citadel races are not interesting but they all are so similar.
Any gas type races that float around like clouds, or race that
Also i can mention idea about three gender race. (A B C) and Reproduction goes like A+B=C; A+C=B; B+C=A. Scheme like this always keeps balance it self. For example if one of the sex is more inteligent (A) and other stronger (B) and war used up most of the strong individuals (B) then those who survived recreate those killed in war (A+C=B)

Whos the boss?
You are the comander of the space ship, the captain and ruler. But stil YOU have to go to see your crew, where did the "I want to speak to you in my office in 5 minutes" phrase go? Wouldnt that be a cool feature if you could summon your crew members to you rather than go to them (optional) you might unlock new conversations by using/ not using this featrue.

Mission accepting
You start to talk with character and it wants you to go there and do that and bla bla bla ... From the first moments you understand that you DON'T want to do this (good/bad karma or no credit reward makes you not to want this at all) Mostly in ME1&2 there is renegade option to make rude replay, BUT you still have the mission. and eventualy you will complete it. Probable dialog:
NPC: "Hi someone stole my glasses could you get them back?"
YOU: Screw you i dont want to do anything with you or your $%#*& glasses !!! "
NPC: Ok, good, take a list of suspects i wrote down, this might help.

Random generated missions
Does every mission in ME has to be pre scripted? You could make a program block that time to time creates a random character that might be met on any station and gives you a random go there, bring me that, deliver to him or kill that mission. This would add much more of the precious game hours, gamers so like, and use little resource on that overpacked DVD

Exploration
Planet exploring in ME1 was way better because you could go to surface to almost any planet, Mineral scanner and planet probing also is great idea but it somehow lost its edge. I mean - there are missing pices to this puzzle ...
Also i have big question according to this - Why do every sci-fi space game that includes landing on planets has only single playable area per planet ???? Its more than posible to make ME3 the FIRST game that has multiple landing sites and playable areas per planet.

Weapons
The selection of weapons in ME1 was TOOO huge and in oposite the ME2 has so little guns to choose from. Please keep the balance in ME3 Same goes to upgrading, I personaly more liked the plug-it-in upgrade system in ME1 rather than unnotable research projects in ME2. Dont loose those cool transform animations.

Skills for characters
ME2 has new cool feature that gives player posibility to choose between two ways to improve each skill. But abilitiy unlocking, as you level up, is lost like it was in ME1. SO - If you have made ME1&2 such great games i bet you can find a way to take the best skill features from both games and put them together.

Controls
If you like to claim that ME is unique combination of shooter and RPG then please keep it that way because ME2 on PC did not have any key bindings to particular weapon. Please show me a shooter in which you have to scroll trough all your weapons, for example - to swich from pistol to rockets shoot mech and then back. If you don't open skill menu it takes so much time that you would get killed three times before first rocket blows.

The main point i want to highlight in this wishlist is, take best from both existing ME, add something new, and i can assure that sequential plot  will refresh every single aspect of game and make the gamer to discover the galaxy as he did first time playing ME.

That. I had something like 700k platinum (and iridium, and whateverium...) but could not scrape enough change for more serious shopping. There needs to be some mechanism for exchanging ore/metals for credits so that you can have enough money to buy anything in stores IF you put in enough time mining (which should be made "AI assisted", or "semi-automated", ie. not bothersome, long and repetitive).

Im hoping the romance scenes are just a pinch spicier.  Way too much was left to the imagination for the femshep.  I'm not asking for anything hardcore or exposed breasts or anything like that, just a bit more spice in a tasteful way.  More romance scenes with Thane please!!  lol   And yes I'm female.  :)

This thread have some very nice points.

One of the things I would like to see..

I want that the relationships have some meaning.. For example, if I romance Tali, I unlock a few missions, items or whatnot..

if anything i humbly agree with you
to be honest, if I could actually help with the third one
there's a ****load of great ideas that i already have memorized by heart that i had searing for the first one, and now some for the 2nd one, and i don't know

i'm still hoping and praying that someone from BioWARE will give me an email
wanting one of the few people who is pretty much a die hard mass effect fan to  give some insight/help on the 3rd game.

it's the only game i honestly play, i don't really play anything else anymore
i used to play mass effect 1 like crazy
now i play both of them
i've beaten them at least 30+ times AND STILL NOT BORED!

You should definitely make a thread of your own then for storyboard idea's. A lot of people out here (including me xP ) would be willing to help you out as well I reckon.

I have an idea not sure if anyone else has posted this..

but has anyone ever thought of when travelling to other planets you could get intersected by Geth or Collectors?... That would be neat to have a space battle before reaching the citadel or any planet/station for that matter

And in ME3...they should focus heavier on relationships as well, and bring back the romance from ME1.. (that of course depending on the outcome of ME2).. for example lets say you didn't pursue anyone..Ashley returns in ME3 and would really draw the emotions back and really create a personal storyline for the player

Creating a Entire Fleet of dozens from ships you can buy, salvage, build or buy, recruiting dozens of characters to operate the fleets and go with you on missions, maybe even over 100 characters,

multiple ships in your fleet, which you can upgrade.

more Alien party members.

at least 1 Vorcha Party member.

variation to the movement and abilities of all races. (make them look and feel different).

more weapons with their own unique upgrades as well as weapon type upgrades.

More appearance options for Shepard and his party members.

Ship Battles, with shooting and boarding other ships (and if you board a ship without destroying it, add it to your fleet)

A Epic Final Battle between the you know who and your fleet.

Unique weapons and reagents for crafting

You kill space pirate lord dude Gaxkang you get his gun or armor if you want to forsake logic or make something about how armor is one size fits all.

Also you kill Thresher Maw you harvest Thresher Maw hide, have normandy scientists/researchers use it to make extremely powerful armor.

I guess it's useless hoping that they'd make the social interactions more complex. But seeing how they prefer to streamline that part in all their games, guess we'll see more of 3 options with 1 conclusion. Maybe toss in a mandatory interrupt per 15mins of dialogue.

Oh and also, hopefully they release the game outside of U.S.

I really didn't like the look or feel of the mako, but I think the best way to fix the inventory system would to have some variety in the weapon/armor inventory but not have so much that you have to empty your bags for an hour.

The primary request I would make for Mass Effect 3 is that the storyline should be about twice as long and three times as deep as ME2. Let's give those side quests more significant implications for the main plot! Lets increase the number and diversity of things that can happen on landable planets. More boarded ships, more derelict alien craft....and then let there be something to do after the main storyline is finished... such as launching us into ME3 MMO space...

To start, I’ve completed both ME1 and ME2 for the PC. Two words: FREAKING AWESOME. I will almost certainly play both games again, and I eagerly await new expansions for ME2. So, here’s how I think ME3 can be even MORE freaking awesome.
Please, please, please (yes, I’m begging here) make Ashley Williams/Kaidan Alenko (as appropriate) available as a squad character in ME3. Why? First, because Ashley/Kaidan is available as a squad character from the very first mission in ME1; whichever one survives is available throughout that entire game, and is therefore a significant character in the story. Second, because Ashley/Kaidan is a potential romantic subplot character in ME1. Third, because Shepard’s decision to save one and sacrifice the other comprises a dramatically important scene in ME1. Fourth, because other ME1 squad characters, i.e. Tali and Garrus, appear in ME2 as squad characters even though they were present for less of the game story than Ashley/Kaidan. Ashley/Kaidan’s extremely limited role in ME2 seems unfair, disappointing and dramatically inconsistent, especially for a player who played through the Shepard-Ashley/Kaidan romantic subplot.
In the spirit of the previous paragraph, offer more interaction with old characters, such as Udina and Anderson, and maybe a side quest or two involving side characters such as Emily Wong and Chorban. Make the Council at least as prominent as it was in ME1; if Shepard is going to save the galaxy, it’s going to be necessary to get as many races on board as possible, and it will be necessary to deal with the Council one way or another. Also, resolve the Toombs/Cerberus subplot. The continuity elements make the overall story more interesting.
Increase tensions between the Alliance/Council and Cerberus as a major plot point. Will Shepard have to support one and oppose the other? Is it possible to get the two factions to work together? Will Shepard have to violently purge Cerberus of its most extreme and ruthless elements? Will Shepard have a face-to-face confrontation with the Illusive Man? Let’s see some new developments in that department.
Set at least one mission on Earth, preferably in the neighborhood where Shepard ran with the Tenth Street Reds. Include the Reds in that adventure. Maybe Shepard has to fight/negotiate with the rabidly anti-alien faction of the Reds. Maybe Shepard has a chance to reform some or all of the Reds’ members, or at least the non-anti-alien ones.
Examine Shepard’s past. Did Shepard really HAVE parents, or was he/she genetically engineered? (Truly “engineered for greatness,” in other words?) If so, who created Shepard—Cerberus, maybe?
Open up the hidden, keepers-only areas of the Citadel for adventure and exploration. Let’s see what’s REALLY going on in there. Also, let’s have some direct interaction with the keepers, instead of just showing them puttering around in the background. How have they changed since Citadel Station was first built? What are they really up to? It’s time for big revelations. (This could be an excuse to re-introduce Chorban from ME1.)
Speaking of big revelations, bring the Shadow Broker into the story in a big way. Who/what is the Broker? What is the Broker’s agenda? What happened between the Broker and Liara Tsoni?
For crying out loud, show us what the Quarians look like under those helmets!
Let’s have space combat missions where you can control the Normandy: make it fly, fight, maneuver, the whole shebang. The Normandy’s a great base of operations, but it’s supposed to be a warship as well. Let’s stop relegating the Normandy’s combat sequences to cinematic cutscenes. The cutscenes look great, of course, but being able to control the Normandy in combat would be even better.
Modify the resource management aspect. Make it possible to buy and sell elements (iridium, palladium, platinum, etc.) for credits at major ports of call, such as Citadel, Ilium, and Omega. This gives gamers an alternative to planetary prospecting if they find it tedious (which I sometimes did). Besides, if these elements are valuable for upgrading equipment, and you can sometimes find them in crates at various locations (meaning that other people find it worthwhile to mine, refine and store them), it follows that you ought to be able to buy them SOMEWHERE.
Treat grenades and ammunition types (cryo, incendiary, shredder, etc.) as they were treated in ME1: as equipment, not powers. It’s more realistic. I don’t think people need extensive or specialized training to use soft-nosed bullets, Teflon-coated armor-piercing bullets, etc. in real life.
Redesign the soldier class for ME3 by replacing the ammunition “powers” (as mentioned in the preceding paragraph) with powers for martial skills, physical abilities, and toughness. The revised “adrenal boost” power in ME2, with its Matrix-style slow-mo effects, is a good example. Soldiers should have the best reflexes and reaction time (as with the revised adrenal boost power); the most health; the fastest healing; the best weapon accuracy and weapon damage; the fastest storm speeds; and the longest storm times. Maybe they can carry more ammo/thermal clips than other classes because of their physical training (better endurance, more carrying capacity, etc.). Their “powers” aren’t as fancy as biotic or tech powers, but they get the job done. In other words, keep the ME2 version of the adrenal boost power for the soldier class, but otherwise stick with the ME1 soldier powers.
For weapons and armor, compromise between ME1 and ME2. Each company (Hahne-Kedar, Elkoss Combine, Batarian State Arms, etc.) makes its own signature weapons and armor with its own signature strengths and weaknesses, as in ME1. However, each company makes only ONE of each type of weapon (pistol, assault rifle, shotgun, etc.) and ONE of each type of armor (light, medium, and heavy) instead of six to nine grades of each. For instance, one company makes stock quality firearms—reliable, serviceable and cheap, but nothing fancy; another company makes especially accurate weapons; another makes especially damaging weapons; etc. The “Spectre Special” weapons (the sort available at the climax of ME1) are the “best to close second best” in all categories, making them among the most desirable, but also the most expensive and difficult to obtain.
DON’T bring back omni-gel. The whole idea is just too silly, even for space opera sci-fi.
Get rid of the “make money by scanning medikits/industrial bits/miscellaneous junk” mechanic. It’s too far-fetched that the resultant data would be worth paying for, especially after scanning half a dozen or so first aid kits.
Thanks for lending an ear; I look forward to ME3.

Basically Bioware to summarize what we are asking

when i discuss Mass Effect with other Mass Effect players, you want each persons story about what happened in their game to be different. And random generated missions someone said!

Like for example, Knights of the old Republic...i STILL talk about that game and STILL get different quests that i did not do yet! I did soo many, logged soo many hours. Now that is a RPG classic (not saying ME isn't it is an amazing instant classic never gonna forget ME1 strong storyline)

HOLY CRAP wicked idea..

in ME3... instead of recruiting your teammates... you should also be able to recruit factions to fight against the you know who!, like will you turn on cerberus? make alliance fight cerberus? Geth Union...Tali and Legion unite the quarins and geth?!

That would be absolutely amazing! Imagine while on a quest, your squad is pinned down by the Blue Suns when out of no-where the remnants of the Blood Pack arrive to get their revenge on Shepard. Or maybe while your randomly visiting a planet, you run into an friend/old shipmate you knew before you join the the Alliance. Little stuff like this can so much depth into what was an already great game.

Oh man that would create a whole new level for personal storytelling. Meeting up with people from the first one and going "oh hey I remember him/her!"  Like its MY story and only mine you know?  Its already heading in that direction. Like if you go on youtube and check out ME characters, each one is physically, storyline based, mentally (renegade, paragon), combat style differently. Its just remarkable to see that when i purchased ME1, and ME2 ...and (ME3 soon :) ) that I WILL have my own unique storyline. and that idea you posted is awesome and so many other posts have been great.

I really hope Bioware sees this I've loved their games!

Yeah there is no doubt there will be an MMO man, its all about the money man. Regardless I would purchase a ME mmo..it would be very interesting and action/command squads would be awesome

Hey maybe, In ME3 they should have multiplayer skirmishes, you know with your characters you have builded, and do scenarios together in teams, or VS. Like search and destory (Call of duty reference)..

I think it's pretty safe to say that ME3 will take place in the heart of Citadel space... ME1 was in the Attican Traverse, ME2 in the Terminus Systems. And why do Garrus/Liara always be talking about Thessia/Palaven in ME1 if we are never going to go there? Based on that, I'd say people's predictions about ME3 requiring some sort of faction/race recruitment component are spot on.

As for missions in ME3, I'd like to see a smaller crew, but more story missions. ME1+2 kinda sucked in that category... there are like 4 fricken story missions in ME3. I'd like to see more. I do like loyalty style missions though, they are interesting and add a lot of breadth to NPCs.

Lastly, I do not ever want to fly the Normandy or any other ship. Or command a fleet of ships. That is for Joker/people who play Eve. And I am neither of those.
