ME doesn't have mods, I know, but you may have a toolset available for ME3 that would affect the whole trilogy. It could happen. .

They've already explained that it's impossible to create a toolkit since the "Rpg Layer" they've applied to the U3 Engine makes everything that's not making items spawn somewhere require a incredibly learning curve that barely no one would be able to keep up with

Be named Captain Shepard

Meet someone from your past(Spacer: Captain or Admiral H. Shepard/mother, Colonist: that girl you saved, if you did save her, Earthborn: Hell, I don't know, someone from your family?)

An Asian squad mate(the only one that is Asian and part of the squad that you have is Kasumi, and she might be just like the other DLC character)

Ability to go around the Citadel(ALL OF IT).

Well love the Earth idea, but other than that I think that there should only be a couple of changes.

New old loot system

They should have it so that you can upgrade your weapons with Attachments, but make it so that you still have to buy upgrades on the ship for your suit. You should also be able to pick up dozens of guns and armor like the original, not just a couple in ME2, but not so many rediculous amounts that you have to convert everything you pick up to Medi-Gel on your second playthrough. Oh yeah on another note keep the current Medi-Gel system, it makes the difficulty perfect.

Planet Exploration

I swear some of the side quest planets were absolutely beautiful, espicially the DLC ones like the Normandy Crash Site and Zaeed's Revenge. So I was disappointed that I couldn't go back to them after playing through it once. So bring back the Mako, or at least make it so that we can visit planets we've already completed.

End on a high point

Make the overall game feel a lot more like the original's space opera feel did, with electronic music, an epic, exciting ending and a more 80s feel.

mass effect2 had two disks if you put all that in there it would go up to 4 or 5 maybe three because when you have the ship land they have to choose were its gonna land on planet how much of it you can explore what would be there think of all the planets to there is at least more than 60 in the game. And the reason the citadel was small was because it wasnt used that much was only optional to go there my first time i only went there once for 5 minutes just to talk to that captain guy it was a waist of my time in my opinion. No vehicles i thought was nice think the controls were diffifcult to learn.oh and more space battkes that means theyed have to make different ships for each one . This is what looked like when i read that.

Bring back weapon proficiency.  Like in the first one.
All around I LOVE the first Mass Effect.  inventory, weapons, looting.
ME2 doesnt feel like a RPG shooter, just a shooter.

Enough action, poor RPG... ME2 brought more action, exploration but almost nothing in terms of RPG. I miss "Diplomacy/Intimidate" point buy build option. I've finished the game with 8 points that I didn't want to in any other ability or power than the ones that I was going to really use... Yes, I haven't spent 8 points becouse they were useless and I could've used them tho build the RPG side of my character...

The action is OK but... MORE ROLE PLAY PLEASE!!! And more build options for each class... if you give more options but the same points, people will star making lots of different choices for each class, making each Sheppard more unique...

Old squad needs to come back. After everything that happened in ME1, only two people come back? Really? So much for the loyalty Shepard invokes... which was one of the main reasons for Project Lazarus.

Tali. And more Quarians in general. I'd love to see the Flotilla more than one room and a 1 time combat run. Heck I'd love to help them settle their home world, find a new one, or whatever.

I'd like a little more in depth of the Drell too.

I'd like to see the crew move around a bit more. I thought it was great when talking to Tali, for instance, she would walk with you into the engine room thing and all, but does she always have to be at her terminal? Can't she talk to the other two people in there, or maybe talk with Garrus? Have Miranda and Jacob talk? Maybe get some of the useless crew like Mathews or whoever to stop standing around talking about something and have him earn his keep.

I love the idea of visiting earth in the beginning while it's under attack Maybe not even reapers, but Batarians or something. It would be great to have to defend it there, and depending on how you do you go back against the reapers and it makes that part easier or harder.

Baby thresher maw squad mate. Make it happen. Should be biotic too.

Instead of just learning powers form allies, maybe be able to teach them powers.

I loved the ending of ME2 where the entire team played a role, and would love to see that as a constant theme in the third.

No, and I mean NO, mission success screen. It breaks immersion and is ultimately unnecessary. In ME1 it was a report that made you interact with the council and was fluid.

Bigger environments, and I don't mean combat ones. The citadel was way too small. The first installment really gave the right impression, feel and tone to the Citadel with it's setting. I feel like it was all cheapened and detracted from in the second one.

More role playing and less dissociative mechanics. Mainly, I understand a game play mechanic, but why can't an infiltrator use incendiary ammo, or an adept use disruptor?

I'm pretty much fine with either system for loot and such. I did like the variety of ME1, even if it was ultimately irrelevant. ME2 there was no versatility until later in the game when you had your choices.

I'd like more repercussions to choices. For example in ME1 on Eden Prime, you can punch out a scientist and say something like "He needed to be quiet" and the woman just says "I suppose you're right"... what? Or shooting someone in a bar on a bureaucratic world has no penalties?

I agree on a lot of these suggestions that livalidle made. The Quarian Flotilla should be treated like the fleet from Battlestar Galactica. Have a couple of missions visiting a few of the other ships would be welcomed. After all, the Flotilla is the Quarian homeworld for the time being. Why not treat it as such?

Having the NPCs and teammates mill around the Normandy would be an awesome implementation if it were possible. That way, Shepard (the player) would have to find the squadmates that he/she wants to talk to rather than them always being in the exact same place. In a sense, that would add an even richer aspect to this RPG because this aspect could be treated as a mini-quest of sorts. NPCs like Joker could be hobbling around the different decks & when you approach him, he'd tell you that EDI has the helm because he needed a break. Mess Sergeant Garner might be seen mopping the crew quarters area or plunging a toilet in the restrooms while talking about recipes. LOL Dr. Chakwas could be giving medical attention to a random NPC. The people sitting and talking in the mess hall could be playing cards and animations could be set showing them eating & drinking. There are so many possibilities to this. Making NPCs act like real people goes a long way in immersing the player into believing that this is a living, breathing world rather than the world revolving around just around the actions of the player. I have no doubt that this would be an ardous task to get this to work in the game, but it's these small details that really breathe life into a game. It's something that's remembered in the player's subconscious that makes him/her think, "Wow, these guys & girls thought about everything!" For instance, I remember when I stopped to look at the environments in Gears of War 2. I looked at the windows and they had rain trickling down the panes. Details like these are what makes games special and categorizes them into another level that can't be achieved by other games.

Let's be honest, the Citadel in ME2 was disappointing. Don't give us the explanation of streamlining the gaming experience or that the Citadel was still in a state of repair due to Sovereign's attack. Yes, I don't want to run around miles of bridges like I did in ME1, but the environment needs to be more substantial than what was offered. The same goes with Illium as well. These two "grandeous" examples of industrialized worlds were underwhelming at best.

It was mentioned on the first page that biotics went terribly wrong, and he's right. Adepts are described as the class to play if you "want to finish the fight without firing a single shot". With the global cooldown method this is impossible, unless you want each battle to take a very long time to complete.

Instead, put like powers on shared cooldowns. Ie, reave and warp (pure damage abilities) could be on shared cooldowns, throw, pull and barrier (all three defensive) could be on another one. This would be an elegant way to solve the powers problem.

Also, give us more weapons. Only the assault rifles had enough iterations to create the need for a tradeoff, while all the other weapons were simply upgrades of each other. Give us enough weapons to create a problem of tradeoffs. Do I want exceptional accuracy and firepower in my sidearm, or higher rate of fire and large clips? And so on. Weapon classes only do so much.

Don't know if it's already been said... but what I almost feel would immediately give ME3 a giant boost for RPG cred would be to let us play our background mission in a flashback.

Skyllian Blitz... Akuze.... Torfan. Allowing our respective War Hero, Sole Survivor, or Ruthless Shep to relive their defining pre-ME1 accomplishment would be really epic.

Some wishes:

- make armor customizable for the whole team, so make it possible the choose a armor colorization for the whole team, so it does look less then a bunch of soldiers and more like a elite squad

- give back the inventory system as in ME1, so your squadmembers don't look like just wearing a uniform when going out on a mission (Miranda for example), and better make armor customizable for the whole crew as you could for Shepard in ME2

- please no more full body armors, especial when you can't get the helm down, because getting kissed with helm on is very strange

- give back the system with a lot of differents weapons and comparable stats

- make it possible to change armors and weapons and set abilities at once for the whole team like in DA:O in the camp, with one menu point and not only a second before the mission starts (ME2) or with the weapon rack (ME2) or seperated wardrobe (ME1), and make it possible to compare equipment in the shops with the used from all your teammembers, as it is possible in DA:O

- keep the scenerie from ME2 but give back the vehicle, better movement as in ME1, better and more interesting fights as in ME2, you can should there the Geth down from far distance and they do not even react

- give back the hotness to the romance, give back the really hot scenes from ME1, the scenes in ME2 were hardly warm

- mix teammember missions with talks to gain or keep their loyalty, and let us feel that they are loyal and like you. it was said, that they would make special things/assist you better if they are loyal, but I did not really feel a difference, they did nothing even when Shepard had a gun directly in his face. and make them more reacting on the decisions Shepard had made during a mission, let them say something during mission or let them visit you on the ship to talk about it

- let the squadmembers react more with each other, they are standing around like statues, always on the same place on the ship, two fights in ME2 but not even one friendship as it seems, and even 'enemies' did not seem to battle with each other on missions, like they do in DA:O (Wynne and Loghain for example)

- more commanding missions as it was in suicide mission, where you can use more then only three people of your team and wich makes it necessary to equip all well

- eliminate misslinkings to past happenings, as example: Legion says I killed the heretics, but I reprogrammed them or my fan says I had hold a gun under his nose, but I did not do that in ME1

- make it possible to meat more people from the past, not just receive e-mails and nothing more, even when they wish to meet you again

- give back elevators with News and not only loading screens

- give back the abilities and knowlegde trees as in ME1 with higher benefits as in ME2, and take away again that you have to collect points till you afford a next step, that gives the same amount of benefits as the last step did with less points investment

- give back the max-level increase if you make a 'new game+', only increades difficulty but no real award makes it not very inviting

- how about random mission, all missions are unique, if they are done it is over, and if you want to have again ME-action you have to start a new game, but always the same story again and again, does not satisfy everyone, some it bores out. Some random missions with different enemies and maps and now story relevance, so you can continue playing even if all anomalies and storysidequests are done. then you can also make less item drops as in ME1, in ME1 we had to much money, in ME2 it wasn't enough to buy every thing :(

P. S.: I don't know if something have been already mentioned, just wrote down some thoughts ^^

This actually would be a really good way to eliminate the need to reset the skills / level of pulling characters over.   You could play your shepard years before ME1 and set up your character skills / level through that.  The introduction as it were, there could also be decisions made that effect the story in ME3.

Also, did I mention I really want a space station that I can upgrade, build, expand etc.  Something that worked a lot like the castle from Neverwinter Nights 2? Oh I did. Well I'm mentioning it again.
Then you could recruit heaps of traders, soldiers, fleets, mercenaries, consorts it would be GRAND!

I would like to see Tali, Liara and Shepard move into an Apartment together,And Shepard would have to say he was Gay to the landlord (Turian Councilman) in order to live there. And Garrus would be thier Zanny Neighbor. Later on Shepard opens a restaurant called Shepard Pie.

-Fix the class balance on higher difficulties.

-Don't give husks and varren armor on higher difficulties. It makes no sense whatsoever.

-Have heavy weapons feel more powerful. For whatever reason, they start sucking as soon as you get out of the tutorial and the only ones that feel powerful are the Blackstorm projector (until you get to hardcore and Insanity), the Cain, and the Particle Rifle. Most of the time they aren't useful against harder enemies because they do so little damage or have so little ammo that they are useless.

-Research projects that effect the vehicles. Better electronic countermeasures for the Hammerhead and Kodiak, a point defense gun for the Hammerhead, things like that.

This might be long, but I don't want to send 20 submits or something.... first post for me!
1.Combat- I loved the combat in both games, and was really pleased with the power upgrades in ME2. I trust Bioware in this area, just don't completely change it from ME2
2.Story- Bioware, do your thing. Make it ultra epic and clever.
3.Squad members- Hope this isn't spoiling but definitely on the team for ME3 is: Tali and Legion (both interesting races with a difficult relationship with each other),Garrus, maybe Liara, Mordin, some Krogan and your LI. People who shouldn't be on the team are: Ashley/Kaidan, Thane, Miranda and Jack (if any of thes are your LI, put them on). More personality!!! Garrus was an unsociable git to my male Shepard. 2 or 3 talks and that's it! What about our history! Loved the loyalty idea, but was a bit disappointed with only 1 loyalty mission. What about a loyalty bar like Paragon/Renegade? Not too complicated and you can have 2 or 3 loyalty missions and you have to talk to them to keep their loyalty up. I have more in this area but other people should get some ideas in.
4.Exploration/Upgrading: In ME1, I loved the uncharted planets and side missions.A bit repetitive after a while, but still enjoyable. ME2 went way off on this. Dull, ammo funnelling missions where you don't even know what's going on half the time and always end up killing mechs or mercs. I'm no fan of the Mako, but I loved leaving the tight combat areas for a while to look around. Nice and refreshing. The biggest let down in ME2 was planet-scanning. It was so monotonous and boring that I ended up going "screw it" and didn't get the upgrades. Regretted that later Posted Image
5.Levelling-up- A good idea in ME2, better than ME1 but 1 thing. What was with the upgraded powers? At lvl 4 of a power it basically goes more powerful or wider AOE with a few exceptions. Annoying. Change that.
6.Weapons/Armour- I'm pretty sure it's been said before, but ME1 had too much and ME2 too little. I like the idea of customizeable squad armour I mean come on, Jack was half-naked but could take as much damage as armoured Garrus? Unrealistic! Also, discover a weapon and everyone gets it? What are we, a mobile military lab?
7.NPCs- I'm not going to be a parrot and complain about less NPC content in ME2 but I'm going to offer my opinion on several important NPCs: The Council-Trying for no spoilers, but let's just say I had the original Council in ME2. Bioware, I hope you made them to be annoying because I'm still hoping for the day when Shepard snaps and assassinates them Posted Image Doctor Chakwas-Call me strange, but I love her. I definitely want her in ME3 and maybe develop her a bit, you know, maybe a mission for her that doesn't involve shoppingPosted Image Joker-Oddly enough, I've never cared for him. If anyone is to die dramatically at the end, I'd say it would be himPosted Image EDI- so many questions, so much potential, I want to see morePosted Image The Illusive Man- He has to be there and the Cerberus situation has to be resolved.... once and for allPosted Image The Shadow Broker- An unexpected ally, or enemy? Either way he/she must be unmasked Posted Image
That's all I have to say and congrats on reading all this Posted Image

Make the ME1 and ME2 love story important in ME3.

Give us more character interaction and backstory. Just MORE! We want to care for them when in danger. Also longer romances, with hard moments.

Keep the crew with ME1 and ME2 characters.

Keep the story epic as hell.

Give us exploration back.

Earth+Bigger Citadel+Bigger Flotilla

Give us more weapons, armors and outfits (really different, not just different colours).

Give us more critical decisions, i'd like to see the whole mission fail due to wrong choices (like in the "saving the council" question; it would have been awesome to see the Normandy and all the Alliance float blown up and the reapers wining if we choose to loose time saving the council)
