1) The combat system in ME2 is amazing. If you guys can just add a bit more customization, it will be perfect

2) bring Liara back and a squad member! Her role in ME2 is disappointing, and she is a character that has a lot of potential. Overall, do a better job with the ongoing relationships, especially for the ones who remained loyal

3) I loved EDI, keep her!

4) Allow higher levels. Lvl 30 is too small. Perhaps 40?

5) And make the choices we made on ME1/ME2 more important. I mean certain things were handled right, like the council, but there were a lot of quests from ME1 that really didn't feel like it carried over. We got a bunch of e-mails, and that doesn't really have a big impact.

I love ME2 it's a really big and good improvement over the ME1 (which is still an awesome game)
I really loved it how the story continued and I hope they do the same amazing job in ME3.

Still I wish for some things to change

My list of changes I wish for

General
  • A better face customization, I hate it how females always tend to look better than males in ME. AND WHY CANT I CUSTOMIZE THE DEFAULT SHEPARD!!!
  • Achievement bonuses, I loved those in ME1 it makes them more worth while to do
  • No more immortal hamsters and fish that eat more often than I do
Exploration
  • Going back to old places like Noveria/Feros
  • Bigger Citadel, no more empty space more stores/bars and funny stuff
  • More planets with anomalies, like exploring crash sites and finding weird aliens
  • Landing on Earth and take Tali (or anybody else you like) on a tour
Story/Missions
  • Geths vs Quarian, I want to help solve the conflict between each other
  • Meet the Rachni again, meet other spectres, meet more interesting non recruitable charachters
  • More of the Alliance Navy, especially Admiral Hacket
  • Carry on wit the romance from ME1 and ME2, I don't want boring emails neither do I want more boning what I really want more is love talk and hugging:wub:.
  • Jobs/Mercenary stuff like they have in Dragon  Age with good rewards like special upgrades
  • Missions that require you to use vehicles, mechs or aircrafts
  • More end game stuff like Pinnacle Station where you can simulate combat solo or group missions on foot and vehicles
Combat
  • Reloading looks a bit weird, you eject the clip but when do you insert a new one? Unless they are stored in the gun
  • Grenades I want them back, I know you have the concussive shot and heavy weapons but why not just have ordinary frags that you can throw without switching weapons
  • I want to be able to crouch/kneel while shooting
  • Firing from cover while crouched and not exposing your whole upper body
  • Roll or slide in to cover when you sprint (storm) to it
  • Bullet penetration, I hate it how a stupid crate can stop anti material rounds
  • Cover can be destroyed, but make hardcover like rocks can last longer compared to boxes, tables
  • Make a seperate button for jumping over objects and taking cover.:whistle:
Party
  • More party talk like tactical input (besides from the obvious KROGAN CHARGING) and party members should argue, joke around with each other during missions.
  • Party should switch weapons them selves and adapt to combat situations. Make it as real time as possible, I don't like the idea of pressing the pause button every time to give orders to use common sense (sniper shotgunning durrr hurrr)
  • Make the party AI smarter, don't run out of cover while the enemy is firing and retreat/advance depending on how the combat situation changes.
  • CALIBRATING GUNS ALL DAY EVERY DAY is getting boring. Why can't I take Garrus out for a drink?  :crying:
  • Squad members should move around the ship and talk to each other
Weapons/Armor
  • Weapon upgrades other than the general upgrades, like attachments, like a drum magazine to increase ammo capacity or an ACOG scope to increase overall accuracy.
  • More armor suits, I don't want 9000 different armors that give me +1 better stat than the previous version, I want more different looking armors/helmets that give the same +5% to HP or increases headshot damage
  • More casual clothing and places to wear them other than the ship.
Anyway, can't wait for ME3.. just hope they give me a medal and a promotion once I save everybodies ass again this time.:?

This is a combination of some of the things I wish to see added, deleted or remain the same:



1. Please keep NPC companion side quests to similar format as you made them in ME2. They were extremely well written, engaging, emotional and action packed. I loved them.



2. Extend the length of the main quest a bit for the last chapter.



3. Keep the Inventory system the way you made them for ME2. Despite some people's complaints, I am of the opinion that they were a HUGE upgrade. No more spending hours of time (in total) going through inventory and equipping my squad mates.



4. Add NPC companion armor types and locker just like you currently have (in ME2) for weapons.



5. This is a BIG ONE: Planetary mining takes too much time. If you plan to keep this, please find a way for quicker and more thorough planetary mining. I don't care how you do it, just please make sure that we spend less time doing this.



6. Bring back the Super Space Hamster! :)



7. Keep the Paragon and Renegade action options during conversations. Well done!



8. If possible, I would like to see the inside of the Citadel...the part that is inaccessible to the Citadel races but where the Keepers live at.



9. Please assure that Shepard can remove his helmet during conversations this time around. It really undermines the immersion of the game when wearing a helmet that covers the entire face.



10. Please bring back ME1 characters in some capacity in ME3. This especially applies to romancable possibilities with those who Sheppard started a relationship with in ME1...and who he/she remained faithful to in ME2.



11. Please continue to provide the huge diversity to the appearance and layout of side quests as you did in ME2. I hope to not see the same stale buildings, ships and floor plans like I did in ME1. ME2 brought a HUGE improvement in this category and I hope you guys continue to do the same in ME3.



12. Continue to do the great/fantastic work you guys do! You are much appreciated.

Bring back Miranda as love interest and squad mate, so I can continue my male Shepard's romance with her.



In addition, I'd like her personal story to be fleshed out, such as involving her father into the plot (or as a side story in the game), and finally resolving her situation with The Illusive Man (I know it's kind of resolved, but there's no way TIM will leave it at that).



I also hope you keep her usefulness in combat as she quickly became was my favorite squad mate from both games.



Keep Mordin around as well. Loved talking to him and hadn't really expected to.



Regarding everything else, I trust you people at Bioware to make a great game. ME2 has quickly become my favorite.

  More armor and weapon variety
There are around four pieces of armor for each body part and the bonuses are nearly negligible for the most part. If you are an Infiltrator you will get the Visor for head shot damage bonus even if you dislike the look. We don't really get to customize our armor if we intend to have an optimal character. We need more pieces with significant bonuses as the game progresses like armor progression in ME1 where we would find Colossus as we got to Level 50+.

Bring back the weapon stats and weapon system similar to ME1 were we could customize our weapons with different upgrades according to preference or class. It doesn't have to be the same but I'd like to find new barrels, scopes etc. I don't know about you but I never really noticed the weapon damage upgrades at all. The upgrades should adjust to our playing style and class. As an Infiltrator I would give up having 50% extra damage for 100% bonus head shot damage. All upgrades are too generic and it just felt like a shooter were weapons have predetermined stats permanently. 

Also new armor for Squad, not just one color swap.

Make us feel like we are getting stronger 
The game is consistently the same difficulty from level 1 to 30 no matter what and it really shouldn't be that way. I play on Insanity always because to me it is the way to truly measure classes rank in comparison to the others. No matter how many upgrades I got I could barely take any damage before being near death with a few exceptions because of how armor works in this game. It adds no damage protection, it doesn't enhance shields, no power resistance it just gives 3% more weapon damage etc. That's the prime example of "streamlining" going too far to appeal to a broader audience. Back in ME1 by the end we were a powerhouse crushing everything left and right and it was awesome. You really saw and felt the progress.

This is all tied up to the watered down skills and halved level cap. I know it's more work but they need to increase the level cap and add depth to the skills. You can't even discuss builds anymore. What builds? There are like 4 skills and each can go up four times. Back in ME1 there were a lot of different builds for all classes given all the customization we could do with our preferences. 

Earth
I think we can all agree they have to include Earth for the finale. How can they not? 

Save Import Improvements
It would be nice to be able to change our class again like in ME2 but also change major plot choices if we choose to. For ME2 I don't have any save with the Council alive and now I would have to beat ME1 to see how it would change the events on the Citadel. Also when starting a new game+ I would like to have the option to change my class again. Paragon/Renegade points have to carry over.

Planet Scanning
It has to either improve dramatically or be scrapped. The scanner was a cheap way to add a lot of play time that could have been used in more side missions. It's tedious and boring and I don't want to ever have to deal with it again. Bring back an improved Mako or something fun. Also, why can't we sell extra minerals for credits in Fuel Stations or in cities? They could have a system of demand were you can get better prices in Tuchanka for Platinum and more for Iridium in the Citadel or something like that.

Global Cool Downs
They have to go. Specially for Adept's sake but also by the time some skills cool down we don't need to use them anymore. When Shield/Barrier/Armor is down enemies go down extremely quickly and more often than not it is easier/faster to just shoot to them to death than wait another 2-3 seconds to see a pretty animation to the same thing.

Dialog Skip
Too many times I chose a neutral response trying to skip through dialog. They need to make dialog choices be chosen only with A or some sort of protection against this.

All cut scenes skipable
Self explanatory. 

More health =/= tougher
A lot of big mechs and other "bosses" just had a ton or armor a shield/barrier to give the illusion of difficulty but they were just a regular enemy that took twice as many bullets to kill. 

Reduce loading screens if possible
GTA IV had barely any loading screen in a big world with a lot going on. I have to wait 3-6 seconds to go from the Captain's Cabin to the second floor? Loading screens are too long. At this point in the 360's lifetime one would think they could have optimized it unless this is really all the 360 can do.

Achievement bonuses
In ME1 one of the coolest features was that achievements actually unlocked in-game bonuses like extra weapon damage etc. I'd like those back. Also, achievements are extremely easy to get in this game. It took two playthroughs which sounds pretty lazy on devs part.

Take SDTVs into account
I know HDTVs are relatively cheap compared to before and so cool etc but not everyone can afford one. Some people are going through pretty tough times or simply don't want to have the higher power consumption and the text was absurdly small in SDTVs. It's very simple to make captions bigger with an option in the game settings.

Squad comments during missions
Dragon Age: Origins is a wonderful example of this. It's a very nice touch and makes for some very funny moments.

Hello devs.

Here are my wishes:

Combat

- I would guess that there's no going back to the full overheat system that we had in ME1. I would therefore ask rather for a hybrid system. Keep the heat sinks, but have passive cooldown as well. The heat sinks work as quick cooldowns, but you don't get more of them as drops from the enemy, and only very rarely find them in the field. This way, when and where to use up your heat sinks becomes the strategy. They would give you an edge during enemy waves and boss fights.

- Make biotics powerful once more. I know the whole rock/paper/scissors thing with the resistances was an attempt to balance out tech, biotic, and weapon powers, but biotics are supposed to be powerful. It was great fun to just go crazy with them in ME1. It wasn't fun to see you biotics bounce off because the enemy has armor or shields up. The game balance isn't as important in a single player game, as in a MMORPG. Just look at the powerhouse Jack is in her first cutscene, and compare that to her actual gameplay power. There's no comparison.

- Please bring back armor, for both Shepard and squaddies. I know game developers probably hate the word "immersion" by now, but it simply isn't in line with the game lore to see our squad mates running around in street clothes during combat. It wouldn't be too much of a hassle to give them a "on Normandy" look and a "in combat" look. The first, unarmored. The second, armored with an option for hostile environment operations (no need for many different armor skins, in a pinch just one would do). With the increased reliance in cover, I don't know how you could make armor show increased protection beyond shields? As the old damage resistance attribute? This might necessiate making most cover destructible, which might not be a bad idea, and to balance out, make some of the enemies more durable as well.

Plot, characters, and story

- The story of ME2 was more like a collection of short stories than a continuation of the epic novel that was ME1. I'm fairly sure you intend to bring the epic back in ME3, but just in case, I'll log a request for that in here. Image IPB

- The story suffered from incoherence. 20 missions about recruiting squaddies and making them loyal, about a dozen "story" missions about the plot it self. While I can appreciate character driven stories, I think scrapping the loyalty missions and having the "gain" and "lose" loyalty moments happen during, before, and after the story missions might have been a better idea. As a suggestion for ME3, I hope increased focus at all times on the main plot against the Reapers.

- Justice for the ME1 crew. I'm hoping that at least Liara and the Virmire survivor will have prominent parts. To many, indeed I believe to most fans the roles they played in ME2 were highly unsatisfactory. Especially if they were love interests. Liara was particularly hard hit, the only acknowledgement that something had happened between Shepard and her was the picture and the awkward kiss (instead of a hug). Her personality had undergone a 180 turn. You will have many fans of the ME2 squad, especially Tali fans clamouring for you to cater to them again. I ask only for equal treatment, switch the role Liara and the Virmire survivor (Ash/Kaidan) had in ME2 with the role Tali and Garrus had. And vice versa. Please don't sideline the ME1 LIs again in favor of the wishes of those who scream the loudest and post the most. And not merely equal roles with the ME2 survivors either, if I may be so bold. I would ask Wrex back as well, but let's not ask for the moon, when we can have the stars...

- Bigger repercussions to your actions from ME1 and ME2 in ME3. This is it, the final episode. I would love to see a big difference in how a human controlled council responds to the Reapers as opposed to the ME1 council. Other big choices like the rachni and a certain ME2 Tuchanka decision should also pay off. Our choices mattering was what sold this trilogy to me. ME2 had numerous nice callbacks to ME1, but you could still up the game in ME3, and show us some really drastic consequences. The fate of a certain base, for example.

- Please add the male homosexual romance option for Shepard, and keep the already existing female one. If Shepard can fall for a quarian or a turian, I can't see why not having a gay option is out of the picture. Especially since FemShep can be easily played as a lesbian.

- Please don't kill Shepard again only to resurrect him/her in the next scene. The same goes for Normandy. I can understand the shock value, but death needs to have meaning. This also goes for any deaths that happened in ME1 and ME2. If I lost Tali and Jacob during my suicide mission, and executed Wrex on Virmire, I want them to stay dead.

- Have a smaller squad in ME3. More effort can be placed on writing fewer characters better, and their issues will no longer be the main plot.

- One fun thing to try with the storyline: winning and losing storyline paths. Like how Wing Commander did it. This would be a natural progression and escalation to the "Shepard can die at the end" of ME2: Defeating the Reapers might mean allowing Galactic Civilization to perish. Have several critical points which can steer Shepard on the "losing" or "pyrrhic victory" path.

Exploration and RPG

- Combine the uncharted worlds of ME1 with the side quests of ME2. Give us the gorgeous planetary landscapes, and the focused and unique missions. No need to do them all at once everytime... Some worlds could be just precision strikes with the shuttle ala ME2. Others could be free roam with the new Hammerhead ala ME1. And still others would have multiple points of interest, which you travel between with the Hammerhead.

- Fuel and limited probes were not a really fun mining and exploration mechanic. I hated the scanning until I got the hang of it (just sweep quickly and grab the large mineral piles). It's still more tedious than what was in ME1. Also, the view of the planet from orbit was prettier in ME1. A tiny detail, but I missed the ME1 orbit view.

- "Unstreamline" the character progression. 6 powers for Shepard and 4 for the squaddies was too little in my opinion. Everyone felt far more powerful in ME1. I liked that better than what we had in ME2. No need to bring back weapons skills, tho. I do like that each squaddie was more individual with their skills. Some sort of compromise between the ME1 and ME2 systems?

I thought that the armor sets (dragon armor, collector armor) needed the added ability to remove the helmet. Along with more customization options for the armor. Maybe flames or skull decals or something.

Firstly, one thing I think bad in ME2 : it's not a RPG anymore ! Where is the inventory ? Where is the skills progression ? I really miss this game's side, when you find a new armor, new item, when you get XP, etc etc ... I really hope Mass Effect 3 will bring back the RPG side !



Then, I do not like how we can get new XP points, and how each part of story ends (Mission Ending, what the **** ? :( ). Too "arcade" I think.

Also, in ME1; yeah, the Mako is a problem, but removing it in ME2 doesn't resolve anything : Bioware just bypass the problem. So I hope they bring back it in ME3, fixing the bugs found in ME1 :)



The last problem for me is the environment. Yes there are more explorable places, but each of them is more little than ME1's ones. For instance : the Citadel, and the Presidium ... Really lame here too.

Like main "missions", I don't like how end the "secondary missions" : no transition, no matter ?



Although, I really prefer ME2 than ME1 for his extraordinary story (what an epic end !), discuss and protagonists's charism. If Bioware develop ME3 like ME1 (RPG), adding what is good in ME2, ME3 may be perfect !



PS : and the lifts in ME1 are really annoying yeah, but I prefer them than the ****ing BORING loadings ! Please Bioware, bring back lifts, but faster :D

There are tons of great ideas here, but mine are obviously the best:  Image IPB

A happy medium between no inventory and the original system; I believe deep in my heart that there is a better way, and more enjoyable way of managing an inventory, than just scrapping it completely.

A toggle for helmets during cutscenes; I understand that there was a problem with implementing it for ME2, but it really is a factor for many people who enjoy seeing the animations Bioware used for Shepard's face in ME2.

Get rid of the veins on the screen when you are low on health; there has to be a more aesthetically pleasing and less distracting and annoying way to indicate low health.

Armor for squadmates; along with the inventory system, this was one of the things that bothered me the most.  If I wanted to play a first person shooter with NPCs, I would not have picked up Mass Effect in the first place.

More hairstyles and general character creation options; Shepard is no longer military personnel, it's time to allow him or her to relax a bit, and maybe get some new makeup or scars...

Don't railroad us into a certain roleplaying style; I know I'm not the only female Shepard player who was unhappy with her voice and animations while just chatting with Jacob. It turned many of us off from talking to him at all, much less pursuing a relationship. It may not be the biggest issue, but that's just an example of how unpleasant it can be for the game to dictate how our Shepards should act.

Let us continue our relationships with our chosen love interests; I have a feeling Bioware devs are kind of disgusted, amused and fascinated by the "ship wars" going on in the Spoiler forum right now, but it's indicative of how strongly fans care about the love interests. I know that my own enjoyment of ME2 was tempered by not knowing if I would ever reunite with my ME1 love interest.

Which brings me to...

BRING BACK ASHLEY, KAIDAN AND LIARA AS SQUADMATES!!!; yes, they really were emotionally engaging, and yes, we are taking Bioware devs at their word that the love story between them and Shepard is being told in three acts. The second act fell pretty flat for many of us, and the best way to rope us back in is to let us finish the story with the characters that we started it with.

I'd like to see Ashley, Kaidan, and Liara return as squadmates. That is my absolute number one wish. I would sacrifice all of my other wishes if they could come back and play a major role as squadmates in ME3 like they did in the first game.



Other wishes:

-a return to skill based charm/intimidate so Paragades can have more dialogue choices

-the removal of ammo types as a skill; it should be an item of some sort

-the return of more open exploration

-the removal of the 'mission complete' screen

-a return to the amount of skills that classes had in ME1

More Weapon Customization:
In addition to the weapon research, I'd like to see an Army of Two style weapon customization set up on top of that. Have the weapon research just improve the base gun stats, then allow the player to mix and match different scopes, barrels, stocks, and other accessories to improve various gun stats, along with the color scheme of the gun.

Improve Cover:
Another thing Army of Two nailed and mentioned by some other posters is blind firing. A lot of the time getting out of cover results in taking huge amounts of hits, even if you time it right and use Adrenaline Burst (if you are a Soldier), so blind firing to suppress enemies and allow squadmates to attack or manuever would be great. Also, something has to be done about not being able to vault over something without getting into cover first.

More Banter:
One thing I definitely miss is party banter. The little bits of dialogue that can be triggered at certain spots are nice, but having some more spontaneous lines would be good. Plus it would be nice if it was easier to hear lines without having to constantly turn to face squad members. Also, it would be nice to see squad mates talk to each other on the Normandy, even if you can't get in on the conversation.

Rework Squad Points:
The new system kinda sucks. I like that it removes superflous and nonsensical items, like weapons and decryption, but the way it's done now can leave you with extra points you can't use ever. I saw a post in a thread about the squad points and one guy came up with a cool system that was looked kinda like this:

[1] [2 3] [4 5 6] [7 8 9 10]

Basically, it was set up so that as you put points into each of the teirs, you would get some skill improvements until you hit the final point, where you get a fairly noticable one (more area & better cooldown, something like that). That way you could have more control over your skills and avoid having useless points hanging around.

Even if we don't get that, can we at least get to respec our squad?

Improve Squad Mates:
Squad mates definitely need better AI. Too often they start running and gunning, resulting in them dieing and forcing me to fight by myself if I'm low on medi-gel. Add to that the fact that for a lot of the game, they only have two powers and you have a recipe for frustration. Tali in particular suffers because she only has one consitently useful power (combat drone) and the poor AI keeps making her charge enemies while blasting her shotgun. Giving tech specialists like Tali and Mordin at least one more power will help keep them competative in combat.

I could complain to no end  but thats only because nothing is perfect. ME2 is great. But still has room for improvement for ME3. These are my pro/cons on ME2.
First of my pros
1. Story line is solid.
2. Cast form both games. care over most or all in some way (perferbly as cew) either through save info or a base new start for ME3 game.
3. I like the new limet on ammo it's more real.
4. love the size of the galxys. I think the only improvment needed is the ablility to explore the worlds more like more on world missions even if there nothing but bs bouns content explration missions it and more realisam.

Cons
1. Lack of a form of commers haveing any real baring on game play. addind more citys with some form of resurs trading or items would be nice. I.E. make mining more then just for upgrades. you can sell or buy at citys or starports and what not.
2. Lack of content. Give us more to play with in like more weapon, armor and plain closthes it just allows for a more personal feel for the player. I know a lot of you think it's crap but heres a simple answer just make some of the items liner in power or effects based on a power level sistem and if you don't like the veritty just don't us it. but put it here for those who would.
3. I'm pretty sure your going to have to bring earth in as a planet we can explore and inter act with in a ME3. Just seems logical to allow humans who have a space ship freely travling space but they can't inter act with there home world in any form other then looking at it on a star map. come on you refer to it but keep it from us. tiss tiss
4. more random banter from the crew and npc's it just adds flavor to the hole world of ME. Like the talking in the elevatores from ME1 and the up dated news feed are good exmpels but more would be nice.

Hey now, I like thid thread lol



I think it would be wonderful if we had a few missions in areas like the beginning of Jack's loyalty mission. I don't think this is a spoiler, so here goes. When we first arrive on Jack's loyalty mission, we are outside in the rain. The rain effects were AMAZING!!! From the look and feel of it, all the way down to the rain dripping off the characters, it was SOOOOO grand!! I thought the level was gonna be outside and got super excited......only to find out otherwise. It would be so awesome if we had a chance to to have a few missions in a setting like that. It was dark and rainy, and it just felt awesome!!! Most games I play usually have it rainging during the day, but ME2 had it at night and it looked stunning!!!



More armor parts would be really awesome to have as well. As well as a bit more talking between Shep and his team.



Another thing, I think the devs should make Shep stronger as she/he gains levels, you know. In ME2 Shep pretty much felt the same from beginning to end, even though you had a few upgrades and could power up to level four, it never really felt like Shep was getting stronger.

No more scrapped romances. If you start to make one, you might as well finish it.

I registered just to post in here, because, as much as I liked ME2, there were a lot of things that I thought could be better. So here's my list of things that I think need to be changed.

1. More area to explore.
I know a lot of people have said that already, but it's important. I felt like there was nothing to do on many of the planets; the Citadel, this massive space station that, to me, looks like it should be epic from the outside, has a scarce three levels and a few stores, along with a single additional room that looks out on to a park. KOTOR had more area to look around than that, and that game is more than seven years old. Other areas felt very much the same. Tuchanka only had the one area that you could walk around it, Omega had Afterlife and the shops, and Illium just had a few places to go. It got kind of boring really quickly. And the odd thing is that there are areas to explore on all of them. Omega had the district where you found Mordin, and where you got Garrus, as well as the VIP area. It would have been awesome if you had left those open after they were unlocked, just added in a few NPCs and things to do around there. I've dabbled in a bit of game designing, and I know that wouldn't be overly difficult. A similar thing would be cool with the planets that have side quests on them; it would be cool to go back down and maybe encounter some more enemies, or even just do some more exploring. Despite being in an entire universe with multiple populated planets, I felt like I had more room to walk around on the Normandy than I did anywhere else, which seems wrong to me. I mean, look at Oblivion, or Morrowind, or pretty much any Elder Scrolls game. Their universes are ridiculous. I'm not asking for anything like that, but a bit more area to wander, admire the scenery, and in general explore would make the game 100% better by itself.

2. More customizable gear.
ME1's system was overdone, I'll admit. And I liked how you had a limited inventory when actually on a mission. But, honestly, I can't believe that there are only three sniper rifles in the galaxy. I don't expect, or want, to have to pick between 20 rifles and 15 handguns, but maybe 5 or 6 of each would make the game a lot more immersive and realistic (I'd also add in some grenades). Similarly, more sets of armor would be awesome. Maybe some that only are accessible later in the game that add points to two areas instead of just one, or actually decrease the amount of damage you take. That's not completely necessary, but I think it would make the game a lot more enjoyable. Similarly, as people have said, I'd like to be able to customize the gear of my squad mates as well. It doesn't really make sense that Miranda would be running around in her skin-tight outfit on an enemy-infested planet, especially when Shepard obviously has access to some pretty advanced armor. I'd also like to see some way to customize your gear, like you can do with your lightsaber in KOTOR. It wouldn't add any needless complication to the game, but being able to, say, increase the damage your gun can do to shields, or upping its rate of fire slightly, or ammo capacity, or range, or accuracy... they're all things that would make the game much more realistic, immersive, and fun. It wouldn't be too strange to find, say, and upgradable scope on the body of an enemy. You wouldn't be able to do anything with it in the field, so an inventory system wouldn't necessarily be needed, but it can be pocketed and attached once you get back on to your ship.

3. More character interaction.
This has definitely been said already, but I feel like a lot of the characters were very 2D. You could only talk to them every once in a while, and generally after that they were only usable as squad mates. As people have said, it would be awesome to have some banter going back and forth during a mission, or have more interactions when you're talking to NPCs depending on who you have in your squad. For example, I took Zaeed with me on the mission to get Garrus. When I talked to the Blue Suns leader, he went from being annoyed with me to having a good conversation with Zaeed about what was going on. That's the first time I had seen anything like that happen in the game, and I was shocked. That alone made the mercenary feel like he actually had a life before the game, and like the people in the universe actually interacted with each other. Similarly, encountering Ish on Omega when you had Miranda in your party made the world feel much more real. Maybe I just haven't travelled everywhere with everyone yet (probably a consequence of the world environments being too small...), but adding in more interactions like that would make the gaming experience so much better. If there had been some random interaction with an Alliance soldier, say, on the Citadel if you brought Jacob with you would have made him seem more real.
Another cool thing to see would be a bit more interaction between characters on the ship. I know they each have their own designated areas, but it would be cool to occasionally see a few of your squad mates eating dinner with the crew, or talking with each other a bit, even just randomly as you're wandering through the ship. Likewise, it seems like you and your team are the only people moving around at all on the planets you go to. Sure, you hear a bit of interaction here and there, but it would be nice to see a couple characters walking through the areas, stopping to look at shops or talk to each other, etc. Another Oblivion reference, but the characters there had randomized conversations with each other as they walked around towns. The conversations were rather bland, but they added a realism to the game that wouldn't be there otherwise. It would be cool to see something similar. I will also say that the scripted conversations got kind of annoying (the two Volus on Illium were particularly annoying after hearing the same six lines four or five times). It's nice to hear it once or twice, but after you've walked by them eight times and they've said the same line four I really feel like I'd rather them just stop after a while.
I have to add it in here, but a little more realistic love interest would have made the game a lot more immersive. It seemed like half the point of talking to your squad mates was to get one of them in bed, and the actual feelings between the two of them came second (with the exception of Tali. I liked how that developed; there actually seemed to be feelings there). Make it a bit more realistic; Shepard shouldn't have to blatantly flirt with someone just to have them become a love interest. The flirty should be an option, sure, but I don't want to blatantly say that I want to get in to Miranda's pants, I'd rather be a bit subtle about it. In fact, there should be at least one possible love interest that's downright turned off by Shepard being flirty. That would at least make the entire thing seem meaningful rather than just a surface "Oh, we're going on a suicide mission, let's have the last sex of our lives just because" sort of thing.

4. Combat/Leveling
I think those two tie in very closely. The power system, I think, needs a bit more expansion. It seems like it was dumbed down just for the sake of FPS players who decided to buy the game. I'd like to see more options as far as powers go for your player, and for your squad mates. Maybe not something as expansive as KOTOR or the like, but this was downright too simple. It would be cool to expand the powers a bit; maybe make them 7 levels instead of 4, but keep the ability to choose an 'evolved' power at level 4, then be able to upgrade that for a couple more levels. I think the amount of diversity in the powers each class gets is alright for keeping things simple, but at the same time, as someone who enjoys pure RPGs, I wouldn't mind seeing some more overlapping abilities, or just adding more powers in general to each class. That's just me though.
Combat, I think, was fairly well done. However, again tying in with the powers, I didn't really like the universal cooldown. I can see why it was used, but I (personally) think it would be more interesting to have a system similar to KOTOR, or even The Force Unleashed. KOTOR's system may be overdone, but I liked the option of using two or three powers at once when I'm about to die. That could be where a system similar to TFU comes in; you're able to use a few powers in quick succession, but it takes a lot longer to be able to use anything afterwards. Or you can be a bit conservative, use only one or two powers at a time, and be able to beat enemies down at a steady pace instead of all at once. Personally, I think that would be more realistic and make a lot more sense.
I will say that I like the FPS (or TPS I suppose) aspect of the game; having to rely on your own ability to aim and fire your gun, and time your powers right, makes things a lot more interesting and fast paced. Keep a lot of that portion the same I'm thinking, although a bit of tweaking to the friendly AI and the cover system would help out a lot; I found myself accidentally diving in to a cover position as I was trying to skirt a wall, or turn a corner, which screwed me over. I don't have any specific ideas as to how that could be improved though, except maybe separating the buttons for diving in to cover and sprinting. And it seemed like Garrus and Thane liked to stand in the open way too much, even when I ordered them to cover. Contrarily, Grunt seemed to like to stay behind cover more than I would think he would. I think it would be really cool to see the different character's AIs react more like their personality. Garrus would stick to cover more, but wouldn't be bothered with stepping out and blowing someone to pieces. Thane would be a bit more sneaky and try to flank around the enemies and hit them from the side. Grunt would charge in and destroy people up close. Miranda would stay back and hit people with her powers. Jack would charge in and try to hit people with her powers. Jacob and Zaeed would be pretty good all around, except Jacob would like to get in a bit closer and Zaeed would stay a bit further back... It would really make me feel like I was picking my team based on what they can do, and what they're good at, rather than just what weapons and powers they have.

5. Streamline the Scanner.
The first time I used the scanner, I thought that it could be interesting and a little entertaining. Shortly afterwards I was bored out of my mind. It really wouldn't be that hard to fix either; make it so that, when you activate the scanner, it does a quick sweep of the entire planet. Areas with a high concentration of resources are deep red, areas with a low concentration are white. It doesn't tell you what resources are in each place, so there's still a bit of the "good luck finding what you need" to it, but it would make life so much easier and less tedious. As it is, it's just busywork.

6. More shopping abilities.
It seems like the shops were very... bland. Sure, everything would be automated, but at the same time it would be nice to see a bit more diversity. Maybe you can buy some of the second or third tier weapons at the shops (assuming that the game has 4-6 different guns for each category), or you can purchase some customization for your weapons/armor at some of them (scopes, extra large clips, etc). I would also really like to be able to sell resources somewhere; with all the scanning and harvesting I did in ME2, having 200k platinum sitting around at the end of the game really annoyed me, especially when there were still upgrades in the shops that I didn't have enough money to buy. Just a personal thing, but on Omega one of the shop owners said that I could go to the Black Market and buy things; I think it would have been awesome to actually be able to do that, maybe at the cost of a few Renegade points. Similarly, unless there's something planned in DLC, it would have been cool if shop inventories actually changed based on the time of the game. In specific, I'm referring to the store on Illium where the shop owner says she'll let you know if anything special comes in; I talked to her every time I went to the planet, and nothing special came in the entire game.

Anyway, that's mostly everything I have right now. I'll keep updating if I think of anything else, but I feel like what I put down would improve the next game significantly.

 Frankly, for ME3 there is just one thing I want: a freaking store where I can buy the upgrades I didn't find on site. I'm nearly at the end of the game and is extremely frustrating to find out I missed 3 upgrades when i explored every ****ing corner! 
Ilium would be the perfect place to put it on, being that it's the paradise for merchants, so it would be normal to find everything there. 
Also, if we saved a lot of money in ME2, let us use these money at the start of ME3 (or maybe the first time we go on Ilium) to buy most things possible (possibly all upgrades, all powers, all items, ecc... ). I don't care if it breaks the gameplay (if I already have all the upgrades why should I care wasting hours of gameplay just to explore everything?). I'm really fed up of the fact that I have a lot of resources and a nearly godlike pg and it doesn't seem to matter at all...

And the Mako can stay dead. However it might not be bad to have missions where you can choose to go by Mako or fly in... 

Make scanning for resources faster.

If possible please some missions where I can play as another character/team. E.g in Playing as Jacob on the Alt-team on the final mission or like in KOTOR II: TSL on Dxun where one can play as another character during the Freedon Nadd mission.

Gambling (Mini game) or some way to earn extra credits. 

Otherwise cant wait for ME3

ME1 and ME2 were so far, two of the best games I ever played. Seriously, I'm proud of all the BW team that put effort to make such awe inspiring and beautiful game! I tend to play almost any type of games, and for that, its hard for me to choose a specific style of game that I really enjoy, but you know the types of games that makes me repeat all the time and never get tired :)



1. Please... a cure for Thane Krios Kepral Syndrome would make me and many other people happy! Many girls adore him, including me!



2. The possibility to explore planets "in-depth".



3. New worlds to explore, like Kahje and Rakhana.



4. Larger cities and more free-roam would be awsome!



5. Include more hairstyles, they don't need to be big, but there are some cool styles like the one from Aeon Flux's movie.

- Bring back an inventory system

- More teammate outfits. Would be nice if those outfits have specs. Like outfits that provide more armor and others more suited for Techs or Biotics

- More available skills, so you need to choose a certain path a bit more

- Gun mods

- Bring back the ME1 Citadel (1 big explorable area instead of seperate zones)

- Random banter between teammates (think Baldur's Gate)

- I prefer short elevator rides over being taken out of the game by loading screens. This also helps making you feel like the zones are 1 big zone.

- Include passive cooldown on the guns. The clip system is ok, but  adding a passive cooldown system would work better

- Alien weaponry should be harder to acquire (extensive research, special missions)

- Bring back some form of actual exploration instead of scanning mini-game only

- Get rid of the mission complete screen. Throw the overview somewhere in a Journal section for the ones interested in the information.

General

  • A better face customization, I hate it how females always tend to look better than males in ME. AND WHY CANT I CUSTOMIZE THE DEFAULT SHEPARD!!!
  • Achievement bonuses, I loved those in ME1 it makes them more worth while to do
  • No more immortal hamsters and fish that eat more often than I do
Exploration
  • Going back to old places like Noveria/Feros
  • Bigger Citadel, no more empty space more stores/bars and funny stuff
  • More planets with anomalies, like exploring crash sites and finding weird aliens
  • Landing on Earth and take Tali (or anybody else you like) on a tour
Story/Missions
  • Geths vs Quarian, I want to help solve the conflict between each other
  • Meet the Rachni again, meet other spectres, meet more interesting non recruitable charachters
  • More of the Alliance Navy, especially Admiral Hacket
  • Carry on wit the romance from ME1 and ME2, I don't want boring emails neither do I want more boning what I really want more is love talk and hugging:wub:.
  • Jobs/Mercenary stuff like they have in Dragon  Age with good rewards like special upgrades
  • Missions that require you to use vehicles, mechs or aircrafts
  • More end game stuff like Pinnacle Station where you can simulate combat solo or group missions on foot and vehicles
Combat
  • Reloading looks a bit weird, you eject the clip but when do you insert a new one? Unless they are stored in the gun
  • Grenades I want them back, I know you have the concussive shot and heavy weapons but why not just have ordinary frags that you can throw without switching weapons
  • I want to be able to crouch/kneel while shooting
  • Firing from cover while crouched and not exposing your whole upper body
  • Roll or slide in to cover when you sprint (storm) to it
  • Bullet penetration, I hate it how a stupid crate can stop anti material rounds
  • Cover can be destroyed, but make hardcover like rocks can last longer compared to boxes, tables
  • Make a seperate button for jumping over objects and taking cover.:whistle:
Party
  • More party talk like tactical input (besides from the obvious KROGAN CHARGING) and party members should argue, joke around with each other during missions.
  • Party should switch weapons them selves and adapt to combat situations. Make it as real time as possible, I don't like the idea of pressing the pause button every time to give orders to use common sense (sniper shotgunning durrr hurrr)
  • Make the party AI smarter, don't run out of cover while the enemy is firing and retreat/advance depending on how the combat situation changes.
  • CALIBRATING GUNS ALL DAY EVERY DAY is getting boring. Why can't I take Garrus out for a drink?  :crying:
  • Squad members should move around the ship and talk to each other
Weapons/Armor
  • Weapon upgrades other than the general upgrades, like attachments, like a drum magazine to increase ammo capacity or an ACOG scope to increase overall accuracy.
  • More armor suits, I don't want 9000 different armors that give me +1 better stat than the previous version, I want more different looking armors/helmets that give the same +5% to HP or increases headshot damage
  • More casual clothing and places to wear them other than the ship.
Anyway, can't wait for ME3.. just hope they give me a medal and a promotion once I save everybodies ass again this time.:?

A happy medium between no inventory and the original system; I believe deep in my heart that there is a better way, and more enjoyable way of managing an inventory, than just scrapping it completely.

A toggle for helmets during cutscenes; I understand that there was a problem with implementing it for ME2, but it really is a factor for many people who enjoy seeing the animations Bioware used for Shepard's face in ME2.

Don't railroad us into a certain roleplaying style; I know I'm not the only female Shepard player who was unhappy with her voice and animations while just chatting with Jacob. It turned many of us off from talking to him at all, much less pursuing a relationship. It may not be the biggest issue, but that's just an example of how unpleasant it can be for the game to dictate how our Shepards should act.

Let us continue our relationships with our chosen love interests; I have a feeling Bioware devs are kind of disgusted, amused and fascinated by the "ship wars" going on in the Spoiler forum right now, but it's indicative of how strongly fans care about the love interests. I know that my own enjoyment of ME2 was tempered by not knowing if I would ever reunite with my ME1 love interest.

Which brings me to...

BRING BACK ASHLEY, KAIDAN AND LIARA AS SQUADMATES!!!; yes, they really were emotionally engaging, and yes, we are taking Bioware devs at their word that the love story between them and Shepard is being told in three acts. The second act fell pretty flat for many of us, and the best way to rope us back in is to let us finish the story with the characters that we started it with.
