If Mass Effect is going to be a continuing franchise, the 4th game should have a new character selectable from the Council races who becomes a Spectre, and you get to play out your character's Origins like DA:O

1. No thermal clips because having ammo to reload on this game (for all guns but rocket launchers at least) is annoying and i loved that ME1 didn't have any as it made it feel futuristic as we had moved on from ammo to overheating weapons of which forced us to choose between upgraded ammo that is more powerful but makes the gun overheat after a shot or ammo that cools the gun down allowing us to shoot forever. Having to reload in ME2 took away the futuristic element for me and on the hardest difficulty it was a chore!!!
2. As people have already mentioned, I WANT MORE INVENTORY!!!! I want to upgrade armor, guns and ammo for both me and my team. Don't ever keep that from ME3 or i will cry!
...
5. More upgrades! God, i played through the game in 30 hours completing everything (not DLC) and i am fully upgraded which SUCKS!!! Is this an RPG or an action game; shall i blame Bioware for allowing this to happen or EA since Microsoft Games Studios would have kept it hardcore.
6. Play with all your old squad from ME1 in ME3 cause i had a thing going on with Ashley that i would like to continue and I want another chance to kill Wrex, just joking I love Wrex.
As i wrote before i like the thermalclips because they force you to think to aim and to develop some tactics. You don't have the posibility to sit in one place and shot to guy hoping that you will hit them. It sucked in ME1. You could just run with a asultrifle and shoot. Now you have to watch out and plan the action before doing anything. For me it's more RPG like and i love it. If you don't agree, see such games like Diablo 2, Gothic1/2/3, Oblivion. In all those games you have to buy arrows if u want to shoot. But i must say that in several wepons like rifles i found it annoying that the ammo ended up to quickly. I would like to see the rifles with like 30-40 bullets per one clip, and not as it was 24.
And again inventory. I don't want to carry stuff for a whole army. I wrote about my idea of small ammount of place in your pockets. And looting will only go for wepon parts and armor upgrades (omnitools should have some upgrades too). I want to find a pistol by a dead enemy which has a better demage. I scan it collect the parts which i want and the rest doesn't interest me. Then on normandy i can put those parts into my wepon. And what i want is to choose between better aiming or better demage, don't make one best upgrade, let us choose.
And the ME1 and ME2 squadmates. Some of the ME1 already have theirs' own lives. Like Liara or Wrex. I would like to see them, maybe help them again but never ever let them join or team. I expect Zaheed to leave the company (he was paid to just do the Collectors work) and of course Samara. In exchange for the merc i would like to see Ash or Kaidan again. And place after Samara i Leave to BioWare (but if Ash is back why Liara can't).

After reading some recent comments, I would like to say I'm in favor of ending Shepard's story after ME3, whether it be through sacrifice, retirement, or a "continued to keep vigil over the galaxy" ending. This should all be based on choices throughout the game.

I agree that ME should end with 3 part. But i don't want any other wich action is happening after Reapers War to apear. Maybe there will be one resolving the mystery of First Contact War. I would love to see why Presley is so against aliens and especialy turians.

Mass Effect 3 though, think it needs to have more choice / action / consequence. Felt ME2 Leaned more towards - Here is a choice, you can answer 1. Hell Yes, 2. Ok, 3. Yes But I'm angry about it.
Not saying all of it was like that, just felt more that way. More Virmire style choices, more save civilians or save military base choices. Things that morally might test you. Then really make them matter, change a location from a bustling marketplace, to a bombed out zone with beggars and thieves.
Oh and a customisable space station, where you can have merchants, change defences, set up fleet patrols etc. Right in the Reapers invasion corridor, so what you choose matters to who survives.
More people walking around doing stuff. There just isn't enough of it in Mass Effect. For months a preacher preached in the same spot to the same people in Omega. Change things up, make the universe a bit more dynamic.

But one wish that I pray to all that is holy gets implemented into Mass Effect 3 is fixing the immersion-shattering eye contact, or rather, lack there of.
Right from the get-go in ME2, it rears its ugly head when you meet Jacob and Shepard asks him a question while looking at his crotch. There must be some kind of fancy code that allows the eyes of two people involved in a conversation meet.

In ME3 I would like them to go back to using the ME1 docking system on hub planets (or stations). It is annoying finishing a mission only to be sent back out into space to talk to the character and then go back to do another mission (Illium was the most annoying).
I would like to see more weapons and armor available. I like the new system but I miss the Spectre gear. Maybe add those weapons as a bonus mission or purchasable equipment.
This probably will not happen but getting to land on Earth might be interesting, could recruit an alliance soldier or maybe it is a place to end this story.
Whatever happens I cannot wait for ME3

IT'S AN FPSRPG (or as you want RPDFPS) GAME, NOT A STRATEGY. YOU FLY WITH A SPACE SHIP, LAND ON DIFRENT PLANETS, WHAT THE HELL DO YOU NEED A SPACE STATION? CHANGE DEFENCES? WHAT FOR? HIRE MERCS? WE DO THIS ALREADY, AND I REALY DON'T SEE ANY CONNECTION BETWEAN OUR OWN SPACE STATION AND MERCS.
Maybe collect taxes and watch out if the guys out there like you or not. You know maybe buil some lumber mill or have a couple of goats. Think what are you talking about dude.

Turians culture can resemble, the Roman republic before the conquest of gaul.
And Batarians i think you can draw parallel to the Indian society before the abolition of cast system in India.
Do any one else see the similarity, with those society that exist in mass effect universe.

- The ability to leave the vehicle when I want...I actually miss that.
- A little bit more of explorable terrain with planet side vehicle, not so much for looking for minerals and things like that, but it was fun driving around and than getting whamed by a thresher maw
- KEY BINDINGS - I miss being able to pull info on squads, journals, etc just by hitting a key
- moving while ducking, being in a crouched position and "crawling" around
- an option to buy minerals, etc wihtout having to scan planets (really, that was frustratingly annoying and boring)
- toggle for helmets (I actually missed that)
- bit more on the mission side, as far as length. some felt really short, expecially the loyalty ones felt there were some missed opportunities there
- ability to have a little more control over your party (similar to what DA did with the rules for your NPCs)
- skills and talents, better and more of them. I found this lacking. While the point distribution system was different, the fact that was not as large a pool to choose from was tough.
To be totally honest I would not mind at all if the release of ME3 was done similarly to ME. The console version out first and than the PC one later to add in the functionality that was missing for a PC...like the double click.
Story line wise, think it would be sweet to have Shepard almost go against the Council and get everyone he had worked with and form a Mercenary Company to take care of issues, a vigilante group. I dunno, just my thoughts that I would like to see.

The loyalty misson should have continued a short period after, with important dialogue to gain the persons loyalty.

The create face option seriously needs improvement. It was lacking in the original, but I think its pretty shocking they never even touched it for Mass Effect 2.

Going to say no on this- ME1's inventory was tedious and redundant. Upgrading your weapon only felt like it was making an impact at higher end upgrades, the new system is much better.figuare9 wrote...
Bring back the Inventory (upgradeable sizing)
Theres always a good feeling knowing what's in your backpack. RPG gamers love looting! It's always exciting to pick up something that may, or may not be better than what you currently own. Another aspect of that great RPG feel could be to upgrade our bag size. Looting objects and selling them at different markets would be great. For instance selling something at OMEGA could be more valuable than at the Citadel. There is a DLC vehicle planned for release already but the Mako was the second worst thing about ME1 (The first being the horrible inventory.) The Mako was tied to almost every planet you could land on and driving across a gigantic map was not fun in the slightest.figuare9 wrote...
Where did the vehicle go!? Please. . . Give it back!!
I loved the driving aspect of the game. It really gave you a sense of how large the game was. It mad me feel cramped having to walk around everywhere. I'm not exactly sure why, but for some reason whenever I got into the vehicle the game just felt that much bigger to me. I loved it. It may not have driven the best, but it sure was a great part to the game. I heard of talk about them creating a vehicle, but I've completed the game, and explored every planet with no success of driving one, nor did I see a place where one could be used. The Citadel could be larger but walking across a mile long Presidium was not as fun and only accomplished distancing the action scenes.figuare9 wrote...
[b]Please, Make the citadel larger.
This one is crucial to me, but I'm not sure how this strikes other gamers. I really enjoyed the citadel in ME1, not soo much in ME2 though. It seemed a lot smaller and the fact that it was just a bunch of levels on top of each other wasn't much for me. I really enjoyed being in the Citadel in ME1 and loved to explore the life in it. The Citadel in ME2 seems lifeless, just a bunch of shops and levels. I guess it's hit or miss on this one with the community, but I though I'd point it out.

If they are going to introduce more alien species, I want more diverse body plans. Alien biology evolved independent of each other for billions of years, I have a hard time believing that the resulting biodiversity boils down to amino acids and whether you are digitigrade or plantigrade. We need more crazy aliens like hanar and elcor; more limbs, radial symmetry, pincers, mandibles, fur, etc.

In ME3 I would like one of the outcomes to be Shepard and the crew survive.
Mako, only if they add crew comments about Shepard’s driving... Maybe some ground kissing when crew exit the Mako, because I'm really bad at it.
A way to play back your game as a movie (fully RP parts and with abbreviated FPS parts).
More crew interaction.
Make all current and past crew members recruit able.
More place to explore including cities.
More Romance (I don’t mean sex, I mean the flirting and such) and friend relationships.

How about some "ReLC"?
Better yet, why not release a restricted modding toolset that allows us to create non-pivotal maps/missions thereby adding new "planetary anomalies" to the galaxy map (for both squad and Hammerhead...) What harm could there be in that? You'd still get to release DLC for all the story-based stuff, while the fan-base could keep the game interesting between the releases of official DLC (and possibly long after DLC is discontinued) with a whole whack of action-only missions.

I totally agree!
Bioware is thinking about it at least...
I think what it came down to though was this... All the characters are humanoid and of similar proportions so that they can fit onto the same skeleton in the game engine. This allows animations to be re-used... (play through the game multiple times with different characters -- you may switch your squad members, but no matter who you choose, they all go through the exact same motions and gestures each time.)

When you enter combat have the helmet form up around Shep's head
And have the helmet retract once the hostile situation is over.
This would eliminate the need for a helmet toggle, and would allow for Shep's face or helmet to be visble in convos and cutscenes wherever either is appropriate
And for Shep's who chose to wear visors, leave them visible at all times (not collabsable, as they are not actually part of the armor).
