That's why there are other games for other wishes like simplicity and more action etc.  That is why the ME series should be only influenced by RPG-related suggestions

The Mass Effect series has always been an ACTION RPG series.  The combat in ME1 was something new that hadnt been done before.  It was popular so they took it to the next level they didnt go with KOTOR or Jade Empire style combat for a reason, cause its an action rpg.  So who is to say that the game cant benefit from things done in other genres and so far I havent suggested any non RPG wishes, yet.

Look at what a game like Fable 3 is gonna be.  Its adding a strategy/worldbuiling aspect to an RPG to give its players a different game.  Its not doing a bunch of things that were done in Fable 1,  the game that was less popular.  Its doing new things to expand what an RPG can be.

Yeah, maybe. That's because Bioware will eventually surprise us just like with ME2 after ME1... There will be innovation, certainly... I just would wish to focus on expanding the Mass Effect Universe more, add more activities like it was with the mako rather thatn enhancing battle. But even still those are different attributes so I guess you 're right, all can be developed. It's omission that worries me...

I would love to see new RPG elements added to the game and hell even new action elements as long as these things are somewhat new ideas that form like Voltron to give me a game unlike any other.

Hell yeah! That's my number one wish: to further out and expand the Sci-Fi aspect of the game, ME2 was a bit more mainstream...

You just gave me my number 5 wish to add fun and interesting activities in place of scanning and the vehicles or at least find a way to make them more fun for everyone.

What I'd like to see: Slow Motion + camera angles in fights.

I enjoyed the slow motion effect when firing the M-920 Cain. Certain circumstances (killing shots for example) should trigger slow motion camera angles (isometric for example), like in Fallout 3. You should NOT be able to enter a slow motion mode (like VATS), but it should be triggered when certain conditions are met.

I want a rep. seriously. When after the game finishes, and you have saved the galaxy, killed the reapers etc... when you do an assignment after the game, and you fight like blue suns, or whatever, you hear them scream from across the room: "Omg, is that shepard?! screw this, I'm out! and then their leader shoots 'm int he back.

I know some people commented on this, but I think ME2 has the perfect amount of funny. There are a lot of in-jokes, or deeper jokes that not a lot of people get, and they are a lot more subtle. I like that. Me2 had me laughing out loud sometimes, ME did not. Renegade shep may be more wise-ass though. but not necessairily

And this is gonna lose me points but... Use the combat system from me2. why? i'll tell you. Me1's combat system was basically a point and click game. The cover system was pointless, and even suckily executed. Once you got a decent armor, you could even stand in the middle of a crossfire, and shoot all enemies one by one. The system was no more intricate then tetris. The difference in armor was nice, but every gun felt exactly the same, other then stats.
Me2's combat system got me thinking a lot more: which enemy do I shoot with what etc etc. Isn't that what RPG fans want? 'It's super effective!' and all that? Now I'm not for co-op and multi, hell no. But, I would definately not be against more fluid movement in battle. The cover system was great, but sprinting from cover to cover wasn't the most easy thing to do. It would be good if they used the GoW system. I also liekd the fact that different weapons did different things. Much better. I would like to personalise my weapon more though, rpg style. I mean, if you put an avenger has like 5 slots or so, and in those slots you can choose armor penetration, more damage, more accuracy, shield piercing or whatever.

and then in short:
make for possible love septangle. I already did ashley miranda kelly and jack. I wants moar! lol
seperate power cooldowns
higher level possible, (more powers/weapon specialization possible? if it can be balanced)
make me able to kill off liara t'soni. I already got jacob shot int he head, which is less then he deserves, but... yeah.
different ammo system (extrapolated below)
zaeed better be in there...
no mako, but i wouldn't mind planet exploring with a better handling firewalker.
hacking and dectryption games were perfect. Maybe a similar game for planet mining? short and rewarding.
visitable earth. I've been trying to land on earth since the first time i punched up the galaxy map. no dice.
no friggin' elevators
normandy like in me2. I always felt like i was in resident evil's mansion when runnign around in normandy 1
80+ hours of game. seriously. massive 10 disc adventure for the win.
DLC is content that is ready AFTER the game releases. Not content held back to turn profit later.
Collapsible helmet from lost in space. Hell, even if you make this dlc for 20 bucks i'd still get it.

But then again, that's just my 2 cents, I'm sure people will be against it.

ammo system: I'v seen some ideas on here, and I'd like to come up with a kind of synthesized idea.

Ok, ammo is general. Weapons build up heat in their heat sink. All weapons increasy the heat of a heat sink inserted in the gun. However, the heat sinks all come from one pool. Maybe make the pool amount increasable à la rpg. When you start firing on the left of the screen you seen a meter that rises to the top to indicate the remaining heat storing capacity the heat sink has. Obviously, snipers and shotguns add heat faster per shot then assault rifles or pistols. also, it would be a cool effect to make the heat sink inserted in your weapon glow harder red if the heat sink is fuller. Now, to reload, you eject the clip, and insert a new clip from the pool, the heat gets reduced to zero. Of course, if you switch guns, the other heat sinks still remain at the capacity they were. Note that when your heat sink is full, you can still fire, but the weapon will over heat very fast, and it will take at least 10 seconds to cool down. So even if you're out of clips, you can still fire.
An addendum may be that while you are not using a gun (and it is on your back), the heat clips slowly cools off (very slowly), allowing you more shots with one clip if you switch regularly. Another idea may be that instead of reloading, you can also vent your clip, cooling it down more rapidly (but still not too fast) then when it's on your back, and you won't lose the clip.

SPACE!!!

Make space alive. They can make the galactic map more similar to the sea map sen in pirate games like Sea Dogs or Pirates of the Caribbean that way they can include:

-Random Space battles with pirates, slavers, or military vessels

-Collect Bounties on dangerous fugitives

-Have an Economic system where you can sell all the resources you can fing on different planets

(to encourage trade)

- Maybe purchase new or different ships

-Escort or protect civilian ships

Just add more stuff from pirate games but make it related to space :P

I want to guns to be diverse like they were in ME2. In ME1, all the guns were just reskins of each other. I would like to see some kind of gatling gun, an assault rifle with a high rate of fire, and a full auto shotgun. I would also like a upgrade system in which you upgrade the different parts of each gun such as the barrel, stock, magazine, sights, ect.

Stick closer to the first game. Inventory especially. I like having to find the ammo however, and love the options of cutting in on cut scenes to perform a paragon or renegade action.

Similar amount of squadmates to second game doh, and keep the private quarters. Im saying that not knowing how the game ends so if the ship gets totalled i want the new one to have it.

And all this stuff about kaidan returning to me in the 3rd better be right, hope im not being faithful for nothing!

Not as much a wish as a small plea.

Please dont "kill off" the entire crew again! While it worked as a plot device for ME2, having it happen again would just seem arbitrary and cheesy. Also, the entirely of ME2 is almost exclusively about getting those characters, so would seem well, like a waste of game to then just toss them all out again.

While i understand the need for a "clean slate" that new players to work with:

1) if they havent played the first two games, what are they doing starting from the third game?

2) You can just as well tell the stories of those characters even though they are already part of the team, maybe the team initially split up (for scouting or the like) and you pick them al up at the story goes along. You get the "introduce characters over time" that you like, without having to make people start al over.

This is especially a plea in terms to the romance options, please this time around allow Sheppard to keep the girl (or guy)! Especially as for some of them, getting there was part of a longer process. Both Garrus and Tali took 2 full games before they finally made the move, so would seem out of place that they would suddenly go all "i dont like you anymore!" on you like happened to your former romance in ME2.

Also, it would be a breath of fresh air for RPGs to actually have a relationship right from the start rather than something bolted on at the end of the game. You can still switch partner, but at least dont "meta" take the current one away for no good reason.

As much as i found ME2 to be okay, it always seemed like just setting up the characters, please have all of that actually pay off, and please allow it to feel like a continuing story for the entire crew (Except thane) rather than a "reset". It creates a disconnect from the story and the characters, and its what made Garrus and Tali the most powerfull characters in ME2, you knew them and they felt like "old friends", dont take that feeling away in the most important part of the story. please.

I'd love to see a more prominent and well utilized economy. The shops and markets in mass effect 2 were just places to go to buy a couple of upgrades, souvenirs etc. You can end up with a huge excess of one resource, supposedly of great value, and have nowhere to offload it. All in all I feel that the role of credits and resources in mass effect 2 is much too shallow. It would be great if there were options to trade, and some sort of virtual economy to support this. An economy that covered the whole galaxy, not just the 3 or 4 explorable planets. More ways to earn money would be cool also.
Stuff like this will help intergrate you more into the world, instead of just doing a few side missions while you follow the story line.
On a similar note, in space it would be brilliant to be able to encounter other ships (or any signs of life really) aside from the couple boarded as part of storyline missions. These encounters don't have to turn into full on battles (thus requiring the creation of another element in an already huge game) although the option to turn rougue and pirate other ships would be my dream scenario. For the paragons encounters with pirates and other criminals could be an oppertunity to earn extra credits/resources or whatever really. It could give the impression that you are part of a vibrant and busy galaxy. The game currently seems a little... empty.
By the way, I am not criticising the quality of the hubs already created (e.g. Illium and the Citadel) it would just be nice if BioWare could take that vibrancy and expand it into other areas. Also it would be nice to make more use of these areas, considering they are supposed to be commercial hubs they don't seem to have much replay value. I'll make myself clearer... Take the Citadel for example. You do all the missions connected to it, you collect all the items available at the "stores" (what sort of store only sells 3 items, and then never restocks or changes its lines?), you perform some interactions with set members of the populace for some extra assignments and after that the area becomes pretty much inert. Still very pretty, full of quite lifelike overheard conversation, and a sense of nostalgia. But there is nothing to do there anymore, so naturally you don't come back (unless a mission dictates you should). So these places seem a little throwaway. They have markets... so why cant you trade resources and items. The shops should have a constant supply of new and exciting items (or at least new ones). Items which will actually see use on a more regular basis. Sure the upgrades are cool, but I want to be able to buy weapons, ammo, dangerous narcotics.
So I guess, overall, what I am getting at is that the world of ME2 at first seems "busy" and "alive"
but its actually just a bunch of very cleverly disguised scripted sequences. Once these are over it becomes apparant that there is nothing else about the place. Not a huge complaint cause the whole thing is very well executed, but it is limiting.

I agree with all of your post. So usually I run around with Garrus and Tali. Also, where is the in between banter between your crew members? I feel thoroughly disconnected with my crew. It feels like a total random set of characters, apart from Miranda and Jacob, who don't feel fleshed out much. It would be nice to be able to talk to people more instead of hitting on
anyone who moves. In 1, I had at least a sense of team and team building. Also, give me my ME1 romance back in 3. Since 3 should be the finish, let me also finish my story which I started in 1, not 2. Don't even think about leaving Joker out in 3 either.

Upgradeable Vehicle

Having a vehicle on certain missions in ME1 could have been potentially really entertaining. While on Virmire and Ilos, I felt this sort of "on the road" feeling of mobility and strength. Howeveer that feeling didn't last long as the mako itself was just too clunky to operate and too bland to enjoy driving.

The mako concept, instead of being improved in ME2 was completely removed, which also led to the removal of any mission taking place in open space as these would be impractical for soldiers on foot to complete successfully.

Replacing the mako with something more nimble along the lines of a mech/combat buggy will make for some exciting combat, especially if the player can fully customize and upgrade their vehicle through research projects. Imagine a sort of modular exoskeleton to which you can attach your choice of weapons or armor and customize their appearance as well. The upgrades you purchase will actually have a meaningful impact on your gameplay unlike generic +20% power etc.

They treated some parts of Mass Effect 1 like someone would treat a paper cut with an amputation.  They went too far, and should have tried a few different things, not they've got to leave them cut or try something new for the final act. (Very heavy risk)

The Mako was originally meant to be an upgradeable vehicle with customisations.  So there is potentially a chance some kind of upgradeable vehicle will make it in.  Mass Effect trilogy is the amalgamation of genres to create something new.  It would do them no good to completely cut the vehicle out of the game, otherwise they could end up having a cinematic squad shooter on their hands.  They need the variation and the mixture of gameplay elements to continue this path of differing genres.

I like the idea of resource acquisition and research upgrades, but I'd like if I went about acquiring resources in a military manner, not as a miner.

Have missions like protecting crates from mechs or mercenaries, or saving a mining ship that gives you a cut of their cargo as gratitude.  Or even calling up the Alliance/Counsel/Cerberus and asking for some resources.  Shepard is a Spectre after all, he should be able to request some resources.

hmmm...well id like to explore planets like i did in mass effect 1...but with the more fun and easy to control hammerhead.and instead of barren wastelands the planets could have enviornments like in the 2nd game...on the other hand NOT ALL THE PLANETS need to be that way..id like some linear planet exploration also like in ME2.so mix the exploring a bit.oh and i like collecting resources bu7t i hate that your ship runs out of gas. it makes no sense. in the future im sure they would have better technology.

keep the inventory system out but add more armor upgrades.(plus make it so you can toggle helmet again)let there be more weapons..maybe reaper technology weapons.all im saying is im sick of using only pistols, assult rifles, shotguns, and snipers. yes the heavy weapons and smg rock but id like some totally orginal weapons...take the halo series fo example they got the spartan lazer, the needler, the plasma grenade, all totally original weapons.

let at least these characters be apart of your CREW...if they live

1.miranda

2.gaurus

3.wrex

4.tali

5.kaiden(ashely)

6.thane

7.jack.

8.and mordin

make the game LONG...me1 was 20 hours. me2 was 50 hours. NOW MAKE ME3 OVER 100 HOURS bring on 3 DISCS

and i know that MANY people will HATE THIS..but maybe AFTER the game is RELEASED you could release an EXPANSION that contains MULTYPLAYER...yes i know mass effect series is sinple player

but im sure everyone will beat the game in about a month so 5 months or so later you could release a multyplayer component or something...just a thought it may attract for customurs after all...heck it could kill gears of war online

one last thing is TAKE. YOUR. TIME. this game can be perfect if you take time with it

I like the mall and hammer head but what I couldn't understand ismthe armornor shields. On the mako it had a shield thing going on but the hammer head there's nothing. With the hammer head going fast it breaks destroys in front of any object when you move. It would be nice if the hammerhead wasn't so breakable. That way if someone makes a mistake they could go down or part of it is damage it would be very neat if there was anything like that for the hammerhead.

The thing i liked about the mako was if it was damage you could repair it they don't have that for the hammerhead.

Wow, that would be amazing.  I'd play an infiltrator just to use that (and I'm not a huge fan of them).

Good ideas for classes overall, not too many abilities, not too few, and abilities are farily spread out.

Biotic Master, that's an interesting list, and I love what you're getting at. I have a few ideas, suggestions and comments.

-Make Concussive shot a unique soldier power.

-Replace the pulse grenade (now a combat power) with a cryo grenade (since you've gotten rid of cryo ammo) and give the Infiltrator the cryo grenade (since Concussive shot is now unique).

-Instead of "Shock" for the engineer, give them Kasumi's Flash Bang since it works similar to the old sabotage/damping talents.

-And trade Toxic Darts with Combat drone as the engineer's unique ability. I never thought the combat drone was good enough as a unique ability anyway, and this would give the infiltrator the combat drone as it does have great synergy with sniping.

I assume your "Assasinate" is Kasumi's Shadow strike? Whatever you call it, I love that one. And I think it should be a semi-passive power in that all you have to do is melee while cloaked to use it. On that point I think Heavy Bash should also be passive. You might be implying that, but I couldn't tell.

One idea I'm really interested in is the Sentinel's Biotic Missile. I've always thought the Sentinel needed a good special power that combined tech and biotic abilities. But how would it work any differently than warp? Or throw?

Thanks for the feedback.

AirborneMind: I like your suggestion for the Combat Drone as a shared Infiltrator/Engineer Ability. I never thought about the sniping synergy and that's a good point. I'm not so sure about the cryo grenade, because there's already two classes with a cryo power (Sentinel and Engineer); I thought it would be a little redundant. As for the shock, I was thinking it would operate in much the same way that the arc projector does, but at an even wider range when fully upgraded.

I love the idea of having Assassinate as the Infiltrator's standard B button melee attack at close range when either cloaked or undetected (sneaking up from behind). That takes care of any power cooldown problems after using cloak. I wasn't thinking that Heavy Bash would be passive, and I'm not sure how that would affect balance issues for the Vanguard, but it's an idea.

As for the biotic missile, thanks for agreeing that the Sentinel needs some insane tech/biotic combos! I was thinking that it detonates on impact, sending whatever enemies are near the detonation flying, but the biotic energy holds the direct target in place so that Shepard can light him up with some submachine gun fire.
