Um, how about just a really good game? I dislike the serious attitude towards us, the pretentious incompetent.

Perhaps you, Bioware, polishing it too hard?

Don't push it.

When you think it needs a little more... the point where one step to perfection costs a thousand good things. My wish - that you just stop and do no more.

Player feedback is quite important. See the negative feedback Mako and inventory system received - they were removed/replaced.

I guess every post could quote Joker at the end, "It's just my opinion though, no need to go and spread it around".

Thought ME2 had a decent mix of RPG and action.
I want one thing for ME3: Unity!

Shepard's one trait that define him no matter the class, background or gender was the skill unity.
I like to see this idea being taken all the way in the last chapter of the trilogy.
Let Shepard unite the races and factions under one banner.
Be it a mission to aid the turian hierarchy, to support the krogan clans or to rescue the council (again).

Let the Geth, Rachni, Spectres, STG and Justicars all rest their antagonism and follow Shepard
as he lead the charge against the reapers.

Maybe use a variant of the system that was used in KOTOR2 to let the player corrupt
or inspire certain members on the squad. Perhaps even turning a few squad members
into spectres/Justicars themselves.

For example I would like to be able to help Garrus become a more noble and less vengeful vigilante
with the help of my paragon score (or a hare-lipped Punisher with no regard for the M-rating for my
second play-thru).

BTW.
I need the option to shoot Udina before Mass Effect 3 is released.
That man is the proverbial fish in the barrel for any reaper that has
even glanced in his meat bag-indoctrination manual.

Tali's Face or at least one quarians face so I can imagine what hers would look like.

And as much as I hate to see Mass Effect turn Gears of Warish a cover to cover system would be welcomed...

I hope we can we buy heavy weapon ammo in ME3.

Edit: To add to that thought, add a research project that allows heavy weapon ammo to be produced on the Normandy for a cost. For example, say it costs 50,000 iridium to set up the machine, and then you have to pay 1000 credits for x amount of heavy weapon ammo. On that point, I might recommend something similar for medi-gel. It never made sense to me that Shepard and his team would go on a mission without a full stock of medi-gel. The old Normandy had a medi-gel dispenser, so why not the new one?

Well it would be a luxury to have a hvy ammo factory. Rushing to about every battle with fully loaded Cain... too easy if you ask me.

But I would love to see the ammo calculated when you're about to switch heavy weapons. For example, I have 8 rockets, how much percent of Cain does that give me (enough to fire it at that big thing at the end of the level or safer to go with rockets?)

Recently started playing the first ME and the combat was is still the best mix of shooter/rpg.

I don't feel boxed like me2. But anyways more of what I like to see in me3 is liara back at my side.

Option to kill udina, the turian concil member, Ashely, and most of all hachette(probably misspelled). Oh if he gets to big for his breeches also kill TIM, then take over Cerberus. Bring back lift and sabatoge. Exploration must come back oh yeah in the hammerhead. Hair movement it bugs Miranda has hair that doesn't move and breast movement in all female characters. Allow players to the shep unique as far as abilities like the first game. Just saying shep should be godlike now almost perfect in any class it should show. I don't like using guns to kill purely biotic. Last for now is the option to do solo mission without squad members not all or do all this is a rpg so should be your choice. Nihlus work on his own. I want to be a one man army with tag alones.

Sabotage is merged with Overload. Overload and distruptor ammo make weapons overheat.

I'd say that Bioware should move on with current combat system. In ME1 at some point you could just run into a room and start killing everyone with ease. Now (especially on hardcore/insanity) enemies can always kill you if you do something stupid. Bullets are neutral, they work more or less equally for both sides. I still opt for some more varied combat in the next part.

Other thing I thought about would be affecting the skillsets. We already have 'specialization' (eg. nemesis/bastion), what about taking it a bit further - making Commander able to modify the amps/omni tool to affect his skills. (eg, you could choose telekinesis-based skills, such as pull/throw/slam/singularity/shockwave, distruption-based ones - reave/warp/something else that would have to be added).

That is an interesting idea - making Shep a fully biotic warrior, sorta what Adept is by definition. But that would require a bit more devastating biotic abilities available exclusively to Adept class.

Other thing would be upgrading equipment. An Omni-tool would have one or two slots, and it's up to player whether he wants to boost cooldown, duration (both might come in handy for Infiltrators), enhance incineration damage or make cryo blast deal damage to armor.

One thing I didn't like was moving ammo to skills (part from warp ammo that is). It is, of course, more balanced gameplay-wise, but still feels awkward sometimes. Researching an ammo mod should just 'enable' it for everyone.

Necro, I wouldn't kill the annoying turian. I would love to see him try to dismiss a certain claim now...

Right, but if you made it expensive enough, it shouldn't be a problem. Like if 5% of the Cain's power supply cost 1000 credits, that would turn it into 20,000 credits a shot. That's not unrealistic once you consider that a Javelin missile costs 80,000 US dollars today. If the monetary system is anything like it is in ME2, you wouldn't be getting that many more shots off. And if you do, you're doing so at the expense of other valuable upgrades. I think it could be made to work.

How about putting Kahlee Sanders in ME3. She is supposed to be in the new Retribution book and she and Captain Anderson are supposed to be a used-to-be couple. I was thinking that Shepard could maybe meet her and she could be in the game. Maybe work side by side with Dr. Chakwas.

Bring Back The Inventory
This is essential for the game in my opinion - if you look at RPGs, even most Action RPGs, they have inventory systems. Moving away from this concept may simplify things, but it removes one of the more important components for every RPG pack rat.

Upgradable Equipment For Everyone
I'd like to see the Mass Effect 1 style upgradable equipment (armor, weapons) for Shepard as well as the squad members. Weapon mods, ammo types, armor upgrades and implants all need to make a comeback.

More Equipment Variety
The armor and weapons need more variety, similar to the situation in Mass Effect 1.

Make Armor Helmets Toggleable
Again, I don't know how some of the armors ended up being fixed with their helmets on, but this shouldn't be. The toggle button existed in ME1, and it needs to be there in ME3, otherwise it's just ridiculous - who uses a helmet on the Citadel? People stare you know. Really subtle.

No More Planet Scanning
As one of the few people who actually scanned every planet in the game with multiple probes, usually to the point of poor or depleted, I never want to see planet scanning again. Do you have any idea what it did to my wrist? Not only is planet scanning boring, but you also end up with enormous amounts of excess resources - or what do I do with over 600,000 units of spare Iridium et al?

We cant pick up different ammo types anymore and that sucks. The fact that we cant give our squad custom armor and weapons sucks. We also need different types of armor. Helmet toggle was in ME1 but not 2?! Bring it back in 3... Yes Planet scanning is stupid and a cheap way to drag out more hrs in the game. Remove it Bio. Give us materials if you must, through enemies we kill, randomise the ammo types we pick up off them and also have them drop cash and expirence. Love the hammerhead, but other than the quick side missions, Im not sure why we have it... We go straight to the destinations, which I love, but unless we go on a mission and it is required to go thru some crazy turrain we cant on foot, it's still on the pointless side... I love how the squadmates cant be controlled by humans making every fight in the game annoying due to the horrible AI and many glitches of ME and the fact you cant equip them with real weapons and Biotic powers are dang near useless unless 2 shields on the enemies are gone...Thx Bio.

Non rant side of things, love the fact that the combat did improve, Story was more in depth, some great 1 liners and story, Normandy was bigger and you could talk to a few non squadmates finally. (still should be able to do things in your ship and talk to everyone everywhere, eat, hang out etc, but maybe ME3 you'll get it right...) Loved the new squad size and diversity, minus them 80% being guys and not having the chance to make a Shepard Herem, but ME3. The map has improved and I like the fact that you are told where to go for helping out the squad. I was tired of having to remember the weird planet names and cluster in what system. Great job on that one.

Last question for now... Where is my crew's Ship and Sleeping attire? I would change my whole squad to leisure attire or Sleeping attire to do a fight in for amusements sake or a bragging rights after getting so far in the game or beating it as a unlockable OR as a achievement componient... Meaning you can choose to do a mission in your Sleeping or casual attire, BUT the trade off is no armor means no Buffs! Which makes the mission harder to do, but uppon doing it, you get acheivement points for it. Seeing how you have Insainity, this would be perfect. All mission would be armorless in casual wear. Not that you could take more than a hit or two in it in the first place, so you're not losing much. Just tossing that out there.

Yeah, paying for a bullet seems a reasonable way. Either buy an upgrade or have an extra surprise that packs one hell of a punch. Nice choice.

One other thing about choices - if moments like "pick one person, screw up and someone dies" come back (and I would love that, mentioned previously), some characters could possibly have a 'saving throw'. If they're loyal and able to, they could make it anyway.

For example: you have a Krogan in your team. Current situation requires that you send someone to sneak around and eg. open door for you to retreat. Or seal off the attackers. You're drunk enough (or otherwise mentally incapacitated) to consider that this Krogan is just the guy.
Being Krogan, he fails to sneak and gets under heavy fire. Is hit. Well, someone else would die from that shot and you would be awarded a "screwed up, someone died" badge. But he's a Krogan loyal to his battlemaster - 'roll' passes, he shrugs it off and finishes the job.
As a comparison, person generally able to sneak, like Kasumi, would do the job without getting shot at at all, while person not tough enough and not able to sneak would die.

Aaand an Edit:

How about bringing some more life to the Normandy. For example, your crew not just sitting always in one place but wandering around, talking (same for squadmates - eg. Garrus or Zaeed sometimes being in the armory talking about guns). Though this might be just tedious to work on - tons of dialogue lines, and since normandy levels seem to be separate maps, some 'wait Tali, I just talked to you down in engineering and now you're on the bridge? This ship has just one elevator, how the hell did you get in here faster than I did!' would be bound to occur.

http://social.biowar...rowse_polls.php

Just added some polls that make more sense to poll than the random questions that are, quite frankly retarded... Maybe if enough polls are made and answered we can make real progress on improvement we would like to see or things we would like to happen. Our thoughts are a jumble of pages, but polls help make sense of it all. If there is a way to add signatures here, someone point me in the right direction... It's odd there are no sigs on this site...

Polls are a good idea for sure. I'd put a fair amount of money on the Bioware guys having someone reading these huge threads though. There's a lot of valuable feedback here.

That said I'd like to see more of the same personally, and here's my 2 cents:
1) I'd like to see more polish like 2, with what is a very fun system.
2) I'd really like to see toggle-able helmets because some are ugly(but also because the sheer amount of people morally outraged by them irritates me).
3) I'd also love to see a more open galaxy like 1 had, where EVERYWHERE you went had something to do.
4) More Lance Henricksen anyone? Why wasn't Hackett brought back in some capacity?
5) The whole squad till now brought together for the epic-ness to come.
6) The overheating mechanism was more interesting to me personally than the heatsink/ammo counter.

Other than that I loved the level of interaction with the squad. I think Bioware writes the best NPC dialogue. I just wish every once in a while they came and talked to you, I mean before they come to s**** you.

Been a while since I been on the forums.   My wish for Mass Effect 3 ? Lets see....

First they should bring the Citadel back into play more than it was in ME2. Here you had this deep, vibrant city and it just went to waste. I did not miss all the hoofing Shep had to do to get to point a and b.

As cool as Grunt is, he is nothing more than a tough soldier. If you were gonna take Wrex away from us you should have given Grunt some Biotic ability. I know he is tank bred, but still....

I think some things were sacrificed for FPS purposes. I don't know, Dragon Age Origins has a lower FPS, which works for it, but this also gives it a deeper world to dwell in.

I do look forward to seeing how they are going to tie in all the scenarios that will develop from ME2. I do think ME2 should have had one of those tough decisions like whether or not to save Ash or Alenko on Virmire.  It was the type of dramatic element that was missing in ME2. I hope the designers remember what hooked us all in the first place. Good graphics, great combat system and an even greater storyline that makes you want to keep playing the game if only to see what happens next. I didn't play ME1 just to beat the game, I wanted to see what was going to happen. My girlfriend would watch me play because she was into the story line.
(Yup guys, she was into Liara and a Female Shepard, eat your hearts out!)Posted Image

All kidding aside, that is what makes any game worth playing. I have played some games with some bad controls, bad camera angles that did nothing but frustrate me, but the story line kept me playing. And give the person who does your voice casting a raise. That person has gotten you folks some of the best voice acting EVER! That whole ensemble deserves an award and there should be an Emmy award catagory for it.

(don`t hit me hard but...)

I`d like ME3 was more "Oblivion-like :)" much more side quests, less storyline(or at least increase the first)

Personally i`d like the plot to be not more then 1/3~1/2 of game time. And good side quests, not some copy-paste rubbish.

Kill ALL the squad mates, decimate Normandy. Let shep start as poor veteran on a freighter, and finish as an admiral on a cruiser/dreadnought :)

Well just my opinion.

Also a single mode, with no squad mates.

And biowere should determine what is ME3-FPS or RPG?

and act :)

ah and return in mako for the side quests, so haters could just not use it.

I thought I had come up with an orignal solution to a pressing problem, come on here and find that someone has mentioned it just a few posts ago...

I think there should be a terminal on the normany that allows you to make heavy weapons ammo, but I think it would make more sense if it used resources and not credits.

Also, I did like the scanning mini game for ME2, but it gets repetitive... and it is shallow. If BW wants ME3 to be a truly epic game they need to start thinking about ways to increase the scope of the game.

I was thinking some sort of mining business mini-game thingy. You scan the surface of the planet for resources and then set up a mining base if it seems profitable (at a cost of credits obviously). Resources roll in (possibly in real time) and can be used in research or sold for a credits profit.

If this mode had any depth to it (as a sort of mini business sim) it could add a pretty satisfying extra level to the game, an actual reason to explore, a sense of building some sort of empire; as well as a continuing source of income.

I have one suggestion. I have multiple playthroughs of each ME game (about 4 right now, probably be up to 6 by the time ME3 comes out), and I am planning on bringing each of these characters into ME3. Problem is, I often lose track of the choices I made with each individual character. I would love if there was some sort of journal or past mission log to remind of what happened and what I did in previous missions/episodes integrated into the game somehow.

Would also be nice if the significant NPC got journal entries that were updated a la Dragon Age, just so I could have a nice reference handy during each of my playthroughs. Maybe a "Tertiary" portion of the Codex...
