Recruit the suviving members of the first ME and ME2

Being able to pick and choose from all of the characters from the first two would be cool. Getting  thirty recruiting options and only having room for eight people on the ship.

I would love to drive in the Mako again. It would give me an excuse to wear that shirt I bought, and can't even wear anymore...

I just recently played through ME1 as an engineer and I've got to say it's probably the funnest class there is for me. I love disabling enemies and having my allies gun them down. I'm extremely disappointed now that the engineer in ME2 is nothing like that.

Call me a hater but I really didn't like tha Mako, and I can do without the inventory. I always had so much junk. I prefer having a clean inventory.

If they bring back the inventory I really wish there were a sale lock option or something, cause in ME I made the mistake of always selling stuff I want to keep by accident because I kept pressing "accept" without looking at what I was doing.

I have utmost confidence in bioware and I think they'll do a great job even if they don't do everything we want.

But I have to say it would be nice to have some sort of "past adjustment" system. If you start a new game we should get a certain amount of points or something to flip around our preset past. Like releasing the rachni queen, Ash/Kaidan, how many survived on a suicide mission. Have a restrictive system, so we can't get everything we want but at least be able to alter it a little bit to our liking. I'm kind of bummed because I have to replay ME to get Conrad Werner to appear in ME2. (Not that I mind replaying ME. )

Would be really nice if there was some VI (or Normandy crew member) in ME3's vehicle (Mako, Hammerhead, something new, etc) that tells the vehicle to support your squad in combat while you're outside of it. Like a squadmate that keeps it's distance and use different tactics. Or as a mobile automated turret.

Also, nice to explore aquatic worlds.

Honestly, I think I am probably just echoing what a lot of people have already said.

But I want to stress not just throwing the squadmates from Mass Effect 2 to Cameos or NPCs.

I really want them to be playable and very active in the last installment's story.

I guess I might as well add my suggestions.
  • First of all Collapsible Helmets perhaps adding the function to a button like clicking the R3 stick to bring it up or down.
  • Perhaps Getting Aria as a squadmate in ME3.
  • More varied basic weapons, it was obvious that the revanent Gun was the most powerful AR in ME2 whcih I hated because it looked aweful so perhaps add more basic weapons with different effects and abilities. Look at a game like  Boarderlands as and example that game had millions of weapons and they were almost all different.
  • I miss being able to explore a massive areas in the Mako I would love to do that in the Hammerhead.
  • Perhaps adding a mirror type thing in your quarters to customize your beard and hair at anytime you want which means more beard choices and hair maybe some similar to Dragon Ages choices like adding stubble separatly from big beards.
  • When I added to my stats it never felt like anything really improved or when I wore a piece of armor that was supposed to increase my storm speed I never really saw it the stat upgrades need to seem more impactful. Like an actual RPG.
  • Splitting Shooter and RPG down the middle was not cool, why can't you go full shooter and full RPG? You essentially said from the beginning that it is a little bit of a shooter and a little bit of an RPG. Take some hints from games like Army of Two: 40th day and amazing shooter the ability to customize and make your own gun essentially. This perhaps ties in the my third suggestion.
This is all for now I hope it get heard.

Edit: LOL Word copy-paste fail.

This isn't really so much a specific list of things I'd like to see in Mass Effect 3, so much as suggestions on what not to do (or do) based upon my playthough(s) of ME1 & 2.

More EDI interaction

I was disappointed to find that my interactions with EDI were very limited. This is an AI based partly off of Reaper technology, who is apparently very much self-aware and understands concepts of humor when interacting with humans. I loved her interactions with Joker, but I wanted more than just a one-time systems overview of her. I felt this was a missed opportunity that could’ve been expanded upon, and it could have been interesting to involve chats about her self-awareness and what-not. Given how instrumental she was to the Normandy crew’s victory as well as her self-identification as a member of the crew, I feel she should be treated as more than an information hub in conversation.

Less Bad Fathers/Parents

Miranda. Jacob. Grunt. Thane. Samara. Tali. These characters have loyalty quests that specifically revolve around bad parents. Some of them are the “bad parents” trying to correct their wrongs; others are dealing with the results of bad parents. I don’t mind this plot device as a whole or even having common themes, but it was just a tad over-done and obvious in Mass Effect 2.

More Important Missions where I don’t massacre half a planet’s population

I really enjoyed Thane and Samara’s loyalty quests. They provided interesting variety to the game, refreshing after slaughtering what I’d consider a couple armies. More stealth or “diplomatic” important missions in Mass Effect 3 would be most welcome, even if they are simply alternate ways of completing a standard mow-'em-down mission.

Less Renegade Options that make me look (and sound) like Your Average Bum ****

Going against normal moral conventions doesn’t have to mean I’m essentially a rebellious college redneck ****, complete with my bottle in the brown bag. Look more to characters like the Watchmen’s Ozymandias for inspiration for future Renegade options, or heck, even Hannibal Lecter. Renegade doesn't always have to mean killing. Renegade doesn't always have to mean letting someone suffer or ignoring the plight of another person. Renegade doesn't always have to mean yelling, swearing, and sounding incredibly pissed off (just think of the ulcers Renegade Shepard has!).

I understand you want to keep the distinction between Paragon and Renegade obvious but can I at least have a bit of sophistication to that from time to time? Throw me a bone.

Less Witless Ignorant Characters

I would like to mention that I would like, just once, to run into a character that literally pisses himself/herself at the sight of me walking through the doors. Seriously. Let's consider this: Shepard has come back from the dead. Shepard has killed Reapers. Shepard has killed entire armies on various planets. Shepard has the Rachni, Krogan, and Geth backing him (depending on plot options taken, of course).

And yet...I still run into characters where the conversation essentially boils down thusly:

Them: I am awesome! I am king of the world!
Me: Stop what you're doing!
Them: Who the hell are you? Suck it!
Me: *sighs and blows them up*

What, do all my enemies not watch the news? Do they not see that I'm carrying a portable nuke launcher on my back? Do they have no sense of self-preservation?

And by the way, I know you wanted to make Jack into an awesome epic biotic girl of doom, but it would've been great if you gave me an option to smack her silly and into showing some damn respect. I mean, Shepard HAS done more than Jack will ever do in her lifetime. Which leads me to...

Either Less Party Members who I can't convince or more options to tell them off

It's incredibly frustrating to have a party member (current or former) who has already decided everything about me and yet there are no dialog options to change that. The game becomes incredibly linear then. Sure, there are people that set in their ways, but let me at least have the option to explain it to them, and if I can't explain it to them, give me something more than a passive-aggressive Renegade answer that boils down to:

"Yeah? Well, screw you I'm going home."

ME2 was a huge improvement with the quicktime Renegade/Paragon events, and I'd like to see more of that and specifically with my party members. Because let's be honest, there are a few of them that really need a good fist sandwich.

Of course, this works both ways. It's silly when the majority of characters in the universe don't consider that their missions of picking up packages (*cough* Ish *cough*) are not really that important compared to what I'm trying to accomplish, and I shouldn't have my alignment penalized for telling them this. It's not like Spider-Man eventually became super-evil by constantly not doing his homework or taking Mary Jane out for dates.....

The option not to recruit a party member and still finish the game

There are certain characters that, ideologically, a Renegade Shepard would not recruit and work with. Same goes for Paragon. While I understand ME2 has more freedom than ME1, I think that a player's alignment should at least play some role in who will or won't join up with your cause.

I forgot whether I mentioned this before already or not, but I think Faunts' song "M4, Part I" should be included somewhere in ME3, either as the credits song like M4 Part II was for ME1, or for when they do a cinematic like the ones in epic movies where we see the flurry of war accompanied by softer music. I have a feeling that the last, final epic battle between the galaxy races and the Reapers would be a good place to put it. I seriously hope I explained the right cinematic device...

Either way I think this song should be featured in ME3, to "complete the cycle" of sorts.

I think they should hide the paragon/renegade stuff, one of my favourite things about mass effect is that the choices are not like in fallout 3 where you do either the good thing or the bad thing, its not so black and white,I dont think they should remove it but make it so you dont know how many paragon and renegade points you have or recieve

Colour change was so incredibly lame... and Garrus's armour is still damaged when it changes... WTF? I think Shepard's Armour screen was needed for all members. Have basically the same armour for each Character but allow upgrades, helmets and customise colours etc on those members. I felt like this was intended and then dropped? I actually want this in DLC for ME2 not wait 2-3 years for ME3.

Agreed more cutumization and more options for shepords armor

I have a lot to say about this, and am still only on my second playthrough so I haven't quite formulated it all just yet. Here's something I noticed though. The planetary missions in ME 1 could get a little repetitive, but even so I missed them, being able to drive around on a barren planet for a little while, looking for whatever I happened to find. I think that some of the particular genius of Bioware's treatment of space travel was that they captured some of the loneliness of space travel. In particular watching the Mako drop into a sandstorm, and then driving over a ridge and seeing the abandoned, and often ancient, campsite of previous visitors. I also appreciated the way they were able to effortlessly work real iconographic imagery familiar to all of us from NASA and the Hubble telescope. For instance, I actually gasped the first time I landed on the moon, and, coming over a hill in the Mako, saw the earth hovering overhead (a perfect repurposing of Buzz Aldrin's photograph from our first landing).

I missed this aspect of ME 1 the most in ME 2—taking a science fiction story and making it strange again. Not that there wasn't a lot of this still: the reworking of the Citadel was excellent (though too small), and Omega is extremely interesting to explore (again, too small—It would be nice if we could visit the area around Morinth's apartment, for instance). Same again with Nos Astra. I would love to see all of these environments made 50% larger. (It would also be quite interesting to be able to visit the original mission-worlds again. I'd gladly pay another $20-30 for an extra DVD with additional content. I'd even be interested to just hear what had to be cut in the end before the game shipped).

I would also liked to have seen more of the old squad, especially Liara and Ashley. I'm very much hoping there will be, as some have suggested in these forums and elsewhere, some kind of bridge DLC (call it ME 2.5) that will complete the story that began in ME: Redemption, and that will allow Liara to, at least for a short time, to become a member of the Normandy Crew.

Well first and foremost .. I'd much rather see old squad mates come back then new ones introduced. (I'm sure i'm not the first) We've spent all this time developing these characters and while I'd enjoy seeing new faces... since this ends the triliogy I'd rather have old friends ride along then make new ones. (for me I'd like to see Garrus and Jack come back the most... but thats just my personal favorites... I'd love to see them all come back) Also I feel like unless they are going to do a Shepherd is presumed dead for three years and everyone gave up on him... the majority of the characters would have no reason to go off and do there own thing (saving the universe being a top priority)

also with someone like Jack.. it didn't really seem like she had anything to leave for.

I much prefer the "rebellious college redneck ****" Renegade to Ozymandias Shepherd (I do love me some Watchmen, but I really enjoy the occasional Bad assery of kicking someone through a window.) So I hope that keeps up.

I haven't been on the forums in awhile so I only have to go off what I've read... I might be in the minority here.. but I really enjoyed the way they handled the weapons and armor in this game... and I liked choosing the colours for my armor.. I love bioware games for their stories, not their windows and inventories.

More options for abilities would be nice

and I was really dissapointed to find out that there were no new facial options for the creation process... I'd like that to happen.

Just bring back Jack and Garrus and I'm happy.

1. A LOT larger hub worlds. The Citadel, Tuchunka, Omega etc. Were way to small. I want to go to the female camp and go to another part of Nos Astra in Ilium.
2. Planet scanning is simplified, one button, one ultra mega probe is launched. It depelts the planet. :D
3.  A large final battle with Krogan riding on Rachni and Quarians dropping Geth jetpack troopers.
4. More weapons like a semi automatic version of the Widow and a carbine version of the Avenger.
5. More armor
6. A default story that is near full paragon on both ME1 and ME2.
7. No more having to have a certain amount of Paragon or Renegade points to do a option.
8. Good vehicle handling.
9. A Normandy SR2 that breaks away from Ceberus and is upgraded to the HUGE SR3 with N7 markings. It needs a game room that has arcades, a excersise level with a pool, etc. A bar with the Matriach bartender on Ilium as the bartender and Rana (The Asari from Saren's facility on Virmire) will be another scientist. I would also like a dance floor. A customizable ship interior, like putting bling on the walls. I want it to have 6 Thanix Cannons, several projectiles that are like 60x the power of the Cain. Also more stuff to do with your crewmates, like have your LI dance with you or have another romance scene.
11. Landing on Earth, you get a selection of cities.
12. More exploration and more prothean ruins.
13. Less linear missions.
14. More side quests.
15. Less dark than ME2. But I want a ending were Shepard dies in his LI's arms but gets infected by a infection which brings him back to life. But it won't be the real Shepard, it will just be a clone with the memories and the LI acts as if he was the real Shepard.
16. The ability to add a grenade launcher or a underslung shotgun to your Assault rifle.
17. No more fustrating Scions.
18. Husks are less powerful. They are more like the ME1 ones.
19. Have 2 LIs and make a harem.
20. More powers.
21. Better alternate costumes, the alternate costumes in ME2 were just like repaints of the original costumes (Except Jack's alternate costume.). In ME3, I want Legion with more N7 armor, Garrus in a mobility suit, etc. At least there was DLC for ME2 that added good costumes.
22. Female Turians, female Salarians etc. walking around.
23. More enemy types.
24. Enemies can die by extreme attacks that will make them lose thier helmet or other parts of thier armor.
25. More stealth controls for Infiltrators, put on the cloak, you will crouch down, walk and you can stealth kill at least 2 enemies that are near eachother from the behind but if they are others near them and you stealth kill, you will be comprimised.
26. A ammo system which is like ME1 and also like ME2's system. You never run out but after firing too much ammo, you must hit your gun at a place to cool it down aka reload it.
27. Tattos for Shepard.
28. Liara and Wrex play a larger role.

On my wishlist: Cut the bull ...

I am getting a bit tired of being lied to or used. If Shep would have been a freelance merc he'd be rich by now or lead his own organisation. But instead he plays the lackey for incompetent or questionable parties like the Council or Cerberus. I mean Shep's the most competent person in the galaxy most likely and has to keep risking his life for ungrateful people who don't even pay well ... how stupid is that?

I swear if he dies as a poor man saving the galaxy in ME3 I am gonna be pissed ...

108. That other people ask Shepard questions, either about him and his views, his history, about humanity and the Alliance. And I especially want them to ask him how he's holding up. In ME2 everybody talks about their problems and they ignore Shepard completely. Seriously, you go through so much and nobody cares, I felt like some kind of shrink.

A few minor suggestions:
  • With some of the helmets, when characters that previously have met Shepard meet see him/her again, make him take off his helmet.  How is someone supposed to recognize him/her when he/her has their head covered up?
  • Ammo should be replenished when returning to the Normandy.  It just makes more sense storywise.  Why wouldn't someone enter battle without a full ammo capacity.  Normandy should have it.
  • When starting mass effect 2, I liked the fact that I could import how my character looked in the original game.  However, if I wanted to make any minor changes.  Heck hair styles.  I had to start over from scratch.  When modifying imported characters,  it would be cool not to go through that hassle.
  • It would be cool to have some missions on the homeworlds of the different races. It waS admittely cool to see the Krogan home.  It would be even cooler to see Earth too.  How has it changed?
  • Possible solution to mining problems?   I feel the urge to mine every planet because I am looking for the bonus missions. But everytime i visit a planet there is no way to check that i visited it, and at the same time mark that I have not mined it.  I feel maybe I will need the resources some other time.  So i mine every system looking for bonus missions, even when I don't want or need to.
  • A coop campaign would be fun.  We already have team members.  Halo does it.
  • According to the ME2 story, thane will  die soon.  Maybe there should be a DLC for ME2, where Shepard finds a cure for him so he can be back for the next game.
  • For outdoor missions, maybe there could be a setting where Shepard could call in an orbital bombardment from the Normandy on enemy postions.
I guess this is about it.  thoughts?

I absolutely agree about the Citadel... I could not BELIEVE the fact that the Citadel was 3 super-small levels! I was so disappointed! In ME1, the Citadel was so open, so detailed, and so impressive. You could literally spend hours talking to the different people. Even coming back later at different points in the game, you find new characters, missions, etc. The Presidium, the Wards, C-Sec... When I first started the second game, I thought that the rest of the Citadel would just be unlocked later. It being as small as they made it was probably my #1 issue with this game. The rest of ME2 was obviously very different from the 1st one, and I objected to it at first, but later realized how smooth the gameplay really was. It really grows on you, and I've learned to love it as much as the first, but in a completely different way. Only other thing they should put the kibosh on - I don't want to say much about this to spoil- but scanning SUCKS... There were way too many hours wasted there, when I would much rather use the Mako to explore a planet literally and see the different landscapes, animals, moons, etc. of each location.
