A few minor suggestions:
  • With some of the helmets, when characters that previously have met Shepard meet see him/her again, make him take off his helmet.  How is someone supposed to recognize him/her when he/her has their head covered up?
  • Ammo should be replenished when returning to the Normandy.  It just makes more sense storywise.  Why wouldn't someone enter battle without a full ammo capacity.  Normandy should have it.
  • When starting mass effect 2, I liked the fact that I could import how my character looked in the original game.  However, if I wanted to make any minor changes.  Heck hair styles.  I had to start over from scratch.  When modifying imported characters,  it would be cool not to go through that hassle.
  • It would be cool to have some missions on the homeworlds of the different races. It waS admittely cool to see the Krogan home.  It would be even cooler to see Earth too.  How has it changed?
  • Possible solution to mining problems?   I feel the urge to mine every planet because I am looking for the bonus missions. But everytime i visit a planet there is no way to check that i visited it, and at the same time mark that I have not mined it.  I feel maybe I will need the resources some other time.  So i mine every system looking for bonus missions, even when I don't want or need to.
  • A coop campaign would be fun.  We already have team members.  Halo does it.
  • According to the ME2 story, thane will  die soon.  Maybe there should be a DLC for ME2, where Shepard finds a cure for him so he can be back for the next game.
  • For outdoor missions, maybe there could be a setting where Shepard could call in an orbital bombardment from the Normandy on enemy postions.
I guess this is about it.  thoughts?
__________________________________________________________________________________

YES! The fact that I couldn't just edit my imported character drove me crazy! I started over, spent almost an hour on her, and still couldn't get her quite right. (She looked way too tan in ME2... lol)

I also totally agree with you about the ammo replenish. Its pretty much just common sense. I didn't even think about it until you posted it. Same with the Medi-Gel, like ME1. Like you said, who would realistically go into battle unprepared?

+1 on the Thane idea, He is absolutely my favorite new character. <3

bobcat04, thanks for the support.

One more suggestion, I do find it a little annoying that Shepard in the cutscenes is using an assault rifle even when the character's class is not a soldier. There are 5 classes that do not use assault rifles by default, and in the cut scenes he/she is using one. It would be cool if in these cutscenes the classes would use their own special abilities to win particular battles. When an adept is running out of the collector base, instead if using an assault rifle to run, throw is used. Just a thought.

1. No ******, please. Show a little class.

2. Bring back hidden/integrated load screens. i.e. bring back elevators, and variations of this theme so that load screens can become a thing of the past.

The following is my own insight relating to what ME 3 needs.

ME 1 had a more role-playing feel to it. Leveling up was fast and rewarded you at each level. I want that back. But also with the ability to either have have an level cap so far that you have to play through ME 3 with the same character TWICE to reach it or with the ability to level up completely in all your abilities and over two play throughs or more as well. ME 3 needs a lot of reasons for the first play through but even more for the second (for the same character), maybe a new weapon training like if you were to go to a certain alien vessel in the second play through of the same character and find that pile of weapons AND LEARN the sniper rifle, the LAST weapon type left!

ME 3 needs to be made for PC/Xbox equally with all the little things fine-tuned out for ALL PLATFORMS. I want to be able to assign just about all the keys on my key board for just about every game I play on the PC and I DARN WANT an inventory key and the ability to take a screenshot in game. Also the whole sprint/run/activate key is obviously overused. I changed it to left shift cause I was used to using space bar for pause/HUD. The hold-down mouse button and move the cursor to move the SR 2 and hope you can keep up with it and hope you can stop moving your cursor in time so it doesn't over shoot your target NEEDS TO GO. Use the WASD keys or something better. Also I found the planet scanning was easier on the PC but that the little thing of having to wait for the pod to land until you can continue on to the next scan, a bit too un-fun. We, the gamers would enjoy the maniac frenzy (fireworks like party) of continuously flowing pods landing while we are continually scanning the planet!

The graphics gotta look like an actual sequel (Bioware, you know what I mean...) and include anti-aliasing and most like NOT be using any variant of the unreal 3 engine.

A new and more enjoyable upgrade system please. I'm not exactly sure why, but ME 2's upgrade system was dull and chore-like. And I had to keep going back and back to places when I had the dough. ME 1's system was odd but enjoyable.

Oh and PLEASE have a new character creation tool and-I know it would be hard- but increase detail/polygon count for uploaded characters as well...

The story is a vital part of the mass effect universe but there is another two vital parts, the acronyms: RPG & TPS, standing for Role Playing Game and Third-Person Shooter. ME 1 had a good mix (with a possible SLIGHT favor to the RPG side) and ME 2 dumbed down the RPG to add some BANG BOOM BOOM. Not that we dislike having heavy weapons or arms of enemies fly off, we just also want the RPG elements too-- can we have BOTH? Please?

That is all for now.

P.S. Please Bioware, think BIG, not just in the above but also in the below:

More large, expansive, all-the-time playable areas (you don't have to go Oblivion on us, just make maps bigger with a lot of interconnecting maps that load really quickly in between without it be obvious that its loading). Oh and a map for each map. I mean to say: a viewable map for each and EVERY area that can be brought up with the "M" key.

Note on elevators:

Yes ME 1s slow moving elevators in the most modern societies (future societies, you'd think would be fast-paced), the old cover for vertical loading was unwanted but to cut out the joyous, nice little ride in the elevator period was unthinkable! And replace it with a loading screen that if you had a lot of save slots WOULD TAKE FOREVER (especially on the PC) was WRONG ON EVERY LEVEL!! Please think BIG. How abouts letting us ride the elevator and shoot the elevator walls and move around and make out with teammates and do squats all inside the elevator all in less than 10 seconds? Please don't take me literally about all of that but the squats and moving around and shooting things in the elevator would be nice. And don't make it the most enjoyable part of the game, please. And please keep it short. Make your loading system faster. Then the cover (whatever it will be) will be better.

Credits.

Me.

Bioware for making a slightly flawed AWESOME game series.

The unique thing about ME is the ability to transfer you character over and ME3 really should focus on that. Tons of freedom but your old choices are visible everywhere (Choosing which guys from ME1 and 2 you want in your squad, some skill bonuses if you stick with your old skills and more). Bioware shouldn't focus on tweaking gameplay and to attract newcomers with neutral story options again.

Another thing are the teammates. They might look very real in conversations and cutscenes but in game they are pathetic. None of them talks much, they get stuck in things and die instantly on higher difficulties if I don't guide and help them. Plus in Mako sections I had to do everything by myself. It feels like teammates are useless

Finally I dislike the inconsistency between ME1 and 2. Sure its good they are different but replacing in-game loading screens with old fashioned ones, making everyone able to use every weapon well etc. just breaks the immersion between 2 games.

Gameplaywise ME2 is better, but ME is storyheavy franchise and all the differences take away from the atmosphere. ME3 is in a tough spot; on one hand it should find the balance between ME1 and 2, but that would also break some new story built in ME2. If ME3 tries to become a supersmooth action game with a few mostly unimportant dialogue choices I don't see this trilogy living so long.

Bring back tech mines

Bring back sabotage and damping for the engineer. The engineer in ME2 didn't feel at all like it was in ME1, which is a very very bad thing IMO.

If you're gonna add something to the engineer, then it might as well be a "pet".  The drone is ok, but I think it'd be cooler if they got a mech that you could buy parts for and upgrade.  Maybe you could add a "battlebots" mini-game for them.  You could add VI subroutines to give them certain behaviors and then have them fight other mechs in an arena type situation for cash/prizes.

It could start out as a floating orb similar to the current drone but, after fully upgrading it, it would be more along the lines of a heavy YMIR mech.    Maybe, fully upgraded, you could even ride it or climb inside it like a suit of mechanized power armor.

Also, I like only having the engineer be able to open certain doors or hack the terminals.  I'd even like it if there were plenty of "unhackable" things that only a fully upgraded engineer can get into to get some awesome items.

Maybe there should even be some class/squad based "interrupts" too. If a guy is getting up in your face and has mechs with him then you can nod at your engineer (or do it yourself) and either avoid the fight or kill the guy by taking over the mechs.   If you were a biotic (or had one) you could say something like, "How are you supposed to fight if you can't even move?" and have the camera pan to your biotic whose glowing and holding them in place with their powers.

A skills system could be quite cool. Let me elaborate:

Basically, it would work like Achievements did in Mass Effect 1. On your character record page, you have your standard stats which you level up with XP. Push across, and you're at your skills page. Here, N7 missions, past decisions, and big choices are rewarded with bonus skills.

They're just little icons, like achievements, that give stat bonuses for every 10 levels, decisions and actions, past and present.

Imagine, you found some new technology in an N7 mission, your reward is 10% boost to biotic/tech.

Complete 15 N7 missions: XP is boosted 15%

You could have specific missions that give specific rewards: Somebody tries to escape shepard in a vehicle, and shep chases him down and is rewarded with 5% speed boost for all vehicles, etc.

Not only could this be used to sidequests but also to acknowledge past decisions and DLC with more than just an email: You visit Feros again to see how the colony is doing as a sidemission. You don't have to do much, just look around, and you get a 5% renegade or paragon bonus depending on whether you saved the colony.

Kate Bowman's father confronts you about your decision at the end of Bring Down the Sky, and you get a bonus stat for that.

Bonuses for saving wrex, bonuses for bringing everyone back alive in me2, saving/discarding the council, all kinds of things could trigger a small bonus stat. It would just increase the RPG depth a little, provide some more motivation for sidequests, and help ME3 tie in to the last 2 games a little more, which was something ME2 lacked a bit. It was too much of a standalone title, importing didn't do very much.

Also as a completely different idea: Now that combat has been completely re-fitted, a revisit to Pinnacle station could be very interesting, if done right. Or at least have shepard's apartment a visitable location in ME3 for those that won it.

Also, the Normandy having a playable Thanix Cannon turret (much like the Millenium Falcon's turrets) could be really fun in some battles. Imagine being swarmed by Occulus and fighting them off while Joker pilots you about. Could be heaps of fun!

1.) Bring back old galaxy map. It made sense. You choose a destination then joker flies there. In Me2 the galaxy map makes no sense. Why I am flying a little toy normandy around.

2.)Hide the loading screens. The elevators werent great, but in my opinion it was better than watching a loading screen. Takes you out of the game.

3.) Make uncharted worlds actually explorable. Not linear. Lost all sense of exploration in the Me2.

4.)Bring back inventory and make leveling up less forgiving and more rewarding. I didnt feel like leveling up was that crucial. I could put points into any catagory, spread them thin, whatever, and I would still be ok. More RPG less shooter please.

5.) Give us an epic ending! The story in the first game was epic. The second was good, but most of the time was spent gathering your party. This was great for meeting new charcters and getting to know them, but I felt like I didnt get to go on the same kind of adventure with them as i did with my team in the first game. Most of the main characters in the first game were in your party towards the beginning, so you had them in your team through out the entire game. In Me2 after spending almost the entire game gathering your party it was a short road to the conclusion.

This is my favorite game series of al time, and I cant wait to see how it ends!

if me3 is the final 1 i would like to see a fight between the council and Cerberus and choices that were made on the previous are applied to it like destroying the base makes them hostile to you in me3

also allow more choices on who you can pick on your team or bring back for instance i wana get leara back on the ship or ashley

make it to were if you are to hostile with your teammates they will betray you or abandon you i want to see it more crucial to have your team fully trust you

make more side story quest lines

rewards and badges like in me 1 that gives power ups should also be applied to me3 wealth and recoures are obtained also by a trade system ether from alliance , council or Cerberus

more weaponds armor ship upgrades more ship fights old enemeys come back to haunt you

Just remake ME1 with better graphics and ME2 battle mechanics!

And whos stupid idea was to introduce those 'heat sinks'? The over-heat mechanic worked just fine. Also bring back the Macho...it was a lot of fun using it in missions and exloring - at least in the PC version! I know that console version had control issues and thats why they scrapped it.

Also make areas bigger and side quests more enjoyable.

I would really love it if we could have more then just 2 squad mates out in combat. I mean, while I understand the balance needs, there were some missions that just seemed to call for more then 3 people. And while it doesn't have to be on every mission in ME3 or anything, I do think it would be very fun to be able to take out all of your squad on a single mission, with them all actually under your control. It would make for a very great battle not only to be a part of, but just to watch. But then you don't even have to have the whole team out at the same time, just as long it was more then 3 some times. Since it just seems kinda silly that a 3 man squad is going around the galaxy mowing down vast armies.

And then on HUB worlds, maybe you could have the people you didn't choose to be in your squad, standing around doing stuff, sort of like how they did on Virmire in ME1, but do this for all the HUB worlds. Since seeing the crew around on the HUB worlds would make it seem more like they are on leave on some planet or something, and just make more sense. I mean like on the citadel, you would think that various members of the crew would want to do stuff there, or even just look around, or something.

For ME3 I would like to see i diffrent ship fro shepard based on his/her choice at the end of me2. I did like the new galaxy map but get rid of the fuel. I mean really? cerberus spent all that money to fix shepard and they won't pay for gas??? I would like to see a planet exploring vehical either the mako or the hammerhead or even a choice between the two. I also expect a return to a larger citadel in the 3rd installment. It would also be nice to see omega return as a shopping destination in the terminus systems. and please do put in explorable planets of all the races that are part of the players squad

I would love to see more romance options (Grunt). Having the option to take either one, two or three squaddies out with you on a mission would be nice rather than being forced to take two along every time. More interactive options would be cool such as taking a LI out for dinner or the entire crew for that matter.....I can't think of anything else right now but the sky's the limit. I really enjoyed the Mako and exploration of other planets although mining was kinda fun. More dialogue with crew members would be nice, ME2 seemed to lack in that area. Being able to go to your closet and choose different outfits and/or hairstyles would be cool......sometimes I just feel like letting my hair down but can't. Other than this I have no complaints about ME2, what an epic game!

Krogun romance and more impact for decisions made in previous ones. The only thing i was a little disappointed in with ME2 was the lack of consequence for (eg) letting the Rachni live as apposed to some sketchy Assari with her strange 'episode' thanking you.

Otherwise, loving the sniper rifle and the biotic abilities improvements...much love!

Just a sugestion I would like to see...

Imagine a mission in wich you are allowed to use ALL your team in combat (not like the suicide mission, you could only use 2 teammates a time).

Imagine all of them (5? 10?.. 15?) fighting hordes of reapers!

what i want is that when you are gathering a team for it to be intergrated into the story like me1.in me1 you would find teammates during missions but in me2 you had to go on a mission to get them. What im talking about is somthing like when you get ashely in me1 that was perfect intergration with the mission. for me2 it just didnt feel right
