Bring Kaidan/Ashley back, and bring it to a relationship closure. Happy ending preferred.

I want to run throgh forrests, pass waterfalls, run of hills and mountains as well as fight on space stations.

Better dialogue intercations with the crew especially LI's. I was dissapointed with how ME2 handled this.

It would be nice to have worlds/levels somewhat like those in FarCry (different game engine but still...you could sneak around in the brush and rocks, you could even sneak PAST enemies and not have to engage them).

I LIKE the side missions.  If the game focuses too tightly on the main mission, then it is just a quick in-and-out fight, fight, fight...end of game.

I agree that the dialogue could be broader, deeper, and perhaps the LI interactions more extensive and variable.  I'd also like to see a more ME1 style of LI interaction.  Getting on with Jack or Miranda or Tali while they are all still CLEARLY wearing ALL their clothes (including boots!) kinda dinks the realism...such as it is.

What Bioware should focus is finding the right balance between an RPG Shooter.  For ME1 it was all about the RPG aspect.  For ME2 they had RPG and Shooter, but the Shooter aspect superceded the RPG aspect of the game.  And what you said about sneaking doesn't work at all in a game like Mass Effect.  The other thing Bioware must focus on is making the romances more authentic and believable.  Bioware shouldn't be afraid of Fox just because they made false claims against the game 3 years ago.  ME3 should also have an actual story, in ME2 its all about recruiting highly dangerous individuals and earning their loyalty for the suicide mission.  For ME3 it shouldn't follow the same structure and should be something entirely different.  For ME3 the graphics could be more polished since there were some game crashes and bugs that I encountered.  The loading screens also could be sped up a bit even though the loading screen is loading extensive amounts of data and imagery.  The worlds should be more believable like they were in ME1 and shouldn't be dead.  The world's should be teeming with wildlife and conflict.  Earth should an explorable planet and should have a part in the story also if can.

1. I didnt really feel that any of my choices really mattered from ME1 to ME2, nothing *really* changed the outcome. It would be nice to have more dramatic outcome based on choices - even when it comes to Love Interests!

2. ME1's end (and I assume ME2 but I was unable to have a s/s romance, etc, etc.) left me wanting to have a conversation with my Love Interest (Liara) but the game just.. ended.. I felt there was no closure on that front. It'd be nice to get a kiss for saving the universe!

3. Samara's quest was one of my favourites - based on conversation and charm, it was a nice break from shooting.

4. I love the cover system - just wanted to throw that in there.

5. We are human and all humans, to some extent, like to horde objects! I bought every fish and toy ship I could. I think this also plays a role in wanting to upgrade every single weapon and item, so keep doing that.

6. I'd like to see a character close to me betray me - I think that would really add a twist to the story, but please, not a Love Interest - I'm still hurting from Morrigan (Dragon Age) leaving me in the end.....

7. I *loved* having to send Kaiden to his death - only because I actually hated having to chose! It makes for a great game when I have to delve into my virtual morals. Would I sacrifice the universe to be with Liara?? maybe. Would I throw myself into the fire to save the universe or would I let other people die so I can live instead? probably. Interesting things to think about.

Someone mentioned earlier that there needs to be more bug-testing for ME3 before release. I completely agree with this. Nothing bug-related was ever game-breaking for me, but it was still annoying as hell seeing several outcomes of the missions in ME1 imported wrongly. The Conrad Verner glitch is probably the most visible and most infamous import bug, but others were annoying, too, like the Sirta Foundation closing report because those who saved the people in that mission in ME1 had a bad import. Or the import of the Consort missions on the Citadel. The news reports mention blackmail and information-stealing in the part of the Consort, yet you also get an email from her mentioning her gift of words, and each of these isn't supposed to happen alongside the other because they were opposite outcomes of the same mission.

I hope there is more thorough bug-testing this time around for ME3, with focus on the import info because that is such an important concept now for people.

After playing Alpha Protocol, they did some things really good that I wish ME3 has. The level up system and the weapons/armor upgrade system was pretty good and I hope Bioware can put it in to ME3. However, I hope they keep the combat from ME2 which was largely skill based. I don't mind dice rolls determing damage or crit bonuses and all that, just don't let a dice roll determine if I hit a guy when I'm aiming at him.

I also hope they take the decision and conversation system from Alpha Protocol. I enjoyed being timed to make a choice, it kept me on my feet. There was also an insane amount of choices, ranging from small to large, that could affect the story in any number of ways. In the ME games there's usually only 1-3 events that change something, and you only see these changes in the next game.

They could also take some ideas from the minigames in Alpha Protocol. The hacking, lockpicking, and bypass minigames were all pretty fun and challenging.

Other SpecTRes, A black female love interest, and an honest to god love scene. No Head Butts, or tackles. Yeesh.

Oh, and just putting this out there if ME1 and ME2 had a baby, and that Baby was ME3, it would be PERFECT.

I'd like to see decisions that have more than 2 choices. For both ME1 & ME2 the "big" decisions had really only 2 choices--paragon & renegade. Having 3 or even 4 possible options would introduce more shades of gray to the morality system, more complexity, and increase replay value. As it stands, I feel like 2 playthroughs covers all of the bases--one making the paragon big decisions, the other the renegade. There's not a lot of motivation for me to start a 3rd game of either ME1 or ME2 because I already know how all the choices play out through the first two games (the only real exception I can think of is ME2 has more than 2 LI possibilities, but the love interests aren't a big enough part of the game to make me play a 3rd & 4th time just to see one or two new scenes in the entire game). A third or fourth choice would open up so many more possibilities and combinations of outcomes.

Oh, and I do agree with everyone wanting the choices to have more meaning/impact than they seem to for the first two games.

Loved the fact that there were a number of Battlestar Galactica references throughout the game, as well as the obvious nods like Tricia Helfer as E.D.I. (more please! The interactions between her and Joker towards the end of the game were nothing short of classic), Michael Hogan, the C.I.C. etc - there were many other little nods here and there too which made me smile.

I digress.

1) I'd really like to see Edward James Olmos and/or James Callis lend their vocal talents to the 3rd game (the idea in my head of E.D.I. interacting with a 'male' A.I. in the form of Callis most definately tickles my funny bone in the most ironic of ways!) But Olmos, think he would be brilliant at lending some gravitas to a serious situation etc. I have put up a poll asking for feedback on this too, go check it out guys.

2) Bring back Lance Henriksen for Mass Effect 3 - I missed him from part 2 very much, and it would be great to actually interact with him in #3 as apposed to simply hearing his disembodied voice.

3) A male-male romance option - for the love of the Gods, please make it happen! Whilst I appreciate this subject has more than likely appeared numerous times since the first game launched on these boards, as a Gay man I don't relish the idea of my only options being playing as a woman, getting into some interspecies alien breeding who are of little or no sexual distinction, or being an interstellar bachelor etc. Free up the options. Please. Take the leap.

4) Conrad Verner - more please! I am hoping that he will get his 'moment' in part 3 and (one way or another) end up playing quite an integral role in how things all end. That would be a really cool plotline feeding thru from part 1. I can't tell you how much I laughed so hard in ME2 when he popped up totally out of the blue, well played Bioware - more please...

5) Getorex mentioned Far Cry, I'd like to push that particular envelope a little further and state I'd be very enthused about some form of map editor for console versions like Far Cry 2 had. This would be very welcomed - especially if 'maps' could be assigned individual planets after being graded, so we all really do have a massive galaxy to explore. Yeah, I don't quite have the answers how this may be attainted either, but if Bioware were to look at the model that Ubisoft used as a template, I'm sure they could come up with something spectacular for fans to take the games 'universe' farther upon completion. It worked surprisingly well on Far cry 2 with some truly unique, beautiful and devious maps made by users simply on console, so it's not impossible. I'm sure there are some videos on youtube if people wanted to go check out some of them. Essentially, give console users the tools too.

6) Make the Citadel far more expansive and traversable/interactive in part 3 - it's supposed to be huge, maybe this could even factor in for a large piece of DLC for part 3 or something - let us see it, feel it. ME2 made it look better, but it felt a little more barren than it did before - make it the bustling metropolis it's supposed to be, allow us to soak it up.

7) Kaiden / Ashley - regardless of our respective choices, allow us to reconcile and bring this party member back into the fold of the Normandy crew. I was really intruiged by Kaidens backstory, and wanted to find out more than we were fed. So....feed us more!

8) Protheans! :)

iamthespark - some really good points in your post, I loved Samara's mission too, it was indeed a perfect beat in the game - hopefully they can integrate a lot more choice and dialogue options in the 3rd game - maybe even to the degree it may be possible to utilize some of those choices in any rumoured/possible future Mass Effect-related games.

Fantastic game, I had my doubts at first when I heard that there had been some big shifts and adjustments, but for the most part it was every bit as classic as the first. Without a doubt the 2 most enjoyable games I've ever played, I just can't wait for part three - yet I know as hard as that wait will be, it will be something truly awe-inspiring when it drops.

Thanks to all at Bioware who toiled over making them the very best they could be.

NORMANDY - Make using the Normandy more significant, as someone already said after all the upgrades the Normandy really didn't do as much as I was led to believe. A few player controlled space battles would be nice but even adding a few more cinematics involving Normandy fights would be enough.

BODIES - Something I've found makes a game more realistic and enjoyable is when bodies and descruction remain. Theres nothing better than going through a mission then seeing all the destruction you've caused on the way out. Getting rid of the bodies should only happen in instances where they would realistically be removed, such as if you killed someone in a public area, the residents aren't just going to leave a corpse somewhere everyone can see them.
.

The upgrades to the Normandy are critical, actually.  Try playing through and skipping any of the upgrades.  You WILL lose someone, or someones, if you fail to upgrade the Normandy.

On bodies, while I too would like the added realism of retained damage and bodies, I do not believe it is entirely within their power to keep them around.  The more of that stuff you leave around, the more demand is placed on your computer memory and CPU.  There could quickly come a point where you are bogging down your system.  If it is possible to keep bodies/debris/damage around then GREAT!  Please do so for the sake of realism.

I understand that, what i ment was for all the emphasise put onto it they were really only used in 1 scene, i was expecting alot more from it, im not sure what, just more.

Hmm... I've ordered Dragon Age Origins a week ago and it still hasn't arrived, but as I'll be leaving to Ferelden soon I decided to spend some time here... So I would like Mass Effect 3 - which I'm sure will be the most colossal epic gaming experience ever - to have really awesome end credits... What I mean is, fantastic music and... tadaaa... personalized video-clips... of some of the greatest moments in all the trilogy (ME1, 2 and 3), featuring your specific in-game character and the choices you made during your playthrough... I mean, if you killed you-know-who on Virmire in ME1, you would see that scene... but if you saved him, than you would get to see that instead... see what I mean... If you romanced a specific character, you would get a glimpse of that... It would be a best-of of your moments in ME...

I would like to see that at the end of ME3... And you could ship a special edition with a pack of kleenexes, cause I'll be crying by then...

All of the things you said are outrageous! ME3 having multiplayer will never happen and if it does it will kill the game unless its something absolutely ingenious.

Funny ME1 was a 12 rating, the sex scenes got toned down and ME2 got a 15 rating...  You would think if the rating was going up, probably due to the headshots :)  then they could have done "more" with the love interests.

I'm not sure if my personal wishes were already stated, and I couldn't be bothered to go through 174 pages so I'm just gonna go right into it. I don't have many :P

1) Story missions
I don't know how the plot missions are gonna play out in ME3, so I'll just be speaking hypothetically. But, if ME3 is gonna involve some form of recruitment mission or characters can only be accessed after a certain mission, PLEASE make all those missions available right from the start!

The recruitment missions in ME2 were broken up into 2 groups, one before and one after Horizon, and yet, there is so much recorded dialogue for Tali, Thane, Legion, and Samara for the first 4 recruitment missions. It would have been nice to be able to spend more time with the characters that we really liked. For example, I really liked Tali and Thane, but I'm forced to wait until the second half of the game before I get to use them.

It would have really extended replayability of this game to have all 8 recruiment missions available right from the start, so we could see everybody's comments on certain situations.

It was a bit of a waste to restrict the recruitment missions like this, because Bioware really did a good job in the dialogue. Too good in fact. All of that extra dialogue has now gone to waste, and only modders will be able to fully appreciate them.

2) Mini-games
I know that this isn't a primary area of concern, but it would be nice to have more or better mini-game/s. It's one of those things that helps flesh out a world. The only mini-game we have in Mass Effect 2 is that silly 'Blast Monkeys with Rockets' game.

While it could have been fun it was just so, so boring. I don't mind if we only get like, one mini-game, but it would be nice if more effort was put into the mini-games.

3) More equipment/customizable equipment
Basically, there isn't any in ME2. Just 3 sets of armor parts, and 2 or 3 different guns for each type of gun. That's a TINY amount of options for an RPG.

Granted, it was nice to be able to color our own armor, but that feature was wasted because I was always using the Blood Dragon armor, which can not be customized.

I don't know which route the developers would like to go, but it would be nice have either:
a) more available options for equipment, or
B) the greater options to customize said equipment, like the ability to modify or add specific additions, parts, or attachments to our guns and armor

I know some of this is already in ME2, but it would be nice to have more of it.

I agree, during the first game he seemed to be important to the plot as he was presented along with Udina and Anderson in the beggining, but after that the only thing we could knew about him was the sound of his voice.

I support this too, but don't really think so because Verner could be dead from ME1. Still, I hope he'll be coming back for a short secondary assigment at least.

5) Getorex mentioned Far Cry, I'd like to push that particular envelope a little further and state I'd be very enthused about some form of map editor for console versions like Far Cry 2 had. This is an important point of the wishlist, I've already saw it many times and I agree, the citadel needs to be bigger than it was on ME1 & 2. In fact, I think that its way better to have a few really incredible locations rather than many tiny or generic places. Less travel options would be acceptable if the lands we visit could be more detailed.

7) Kaiden / Ashley - regardless of our respective choices, allow us to reconcile and bring this party member back into the fold of the Normandy crew.

+1

Same here, still, I preffer ME1 over 2, but its like and 10-9.5 difference between them (can't help it, I love RPG).

I agree. Make the ME3 story more like the ME1. Also bring back the inventory in way i wrote a lot before. The worlds should be more complex like in ME2 but also varied like in ME1. But don't make it like raw model with a texture and nothing on it. I think that on some planets there exsist some life not just grass and rocks. And do make the worlds not earthlike. I gues that on other worlds there is life but does it look like the one on our planet? Trees and stuff? If you need an example look at the jungle planet from The force unleashed. Its cute and nicely done but alien. Plants and stuff but still futuristic. If you cannot achive this just don't let us explore. I want a well made stuff or none at all.

I would like a the game to make proper saves just before you go on a story mission. That way If you make a bad decision (for me, the whole crew turned into a splintery past for taking to long to rescue them) , you can find the specific save as you can't over-ride it and it is different from the typical auto-save.

If Mass Effect 3 will be darker, Bioware could add mission where the places have low level of lights or don't have them. I had this idea when I was seeing one of the first Mass Effect 1 trailers and although you must have a good reason to cut them out, some games that use this are very immersible. In a game where there is a low level of lights, the player will be forced to be more alert. During these places Shepard an his/her team will use lanterns and other means to illuminate the place.

As enemies, husks would be good to put in these places because they make some weird sounds. And you can add parts where the walls will fall down and some parts where there will be sounds indicating that the walls are breaking. This would make the player to feel an urgency to get out of those places, and it would add more variation in the game.

I want to see the return of Mordin and Miranda! Also, the firewalker is so much awesome wrapped in a little package. Replace the Mako mission exploration with that and I'd be going for hours and hours.

I just really want to see some of the party members return in your party. I put all that work in to recruit them, get them loyal, and keep them alive... I want to use them again.
