Number one request that I believe has been largely overlooked:
Let Bioware, the greatest RPG developer of the last decade, do what they do best:  make great games.  They know what elements are essential for this trilogy, what works and what does not.  We need to trust the judgement of the developer that has made the best games in history, not persuade them to make ME3 into something else.  Their track record has proven that they know what's up.

Major Wishes

1. Long campaign of about 80 hours.

2. Liara and Ashley back in my squad.

3. To be able to go rogue. The council and TIM both exasperate me.

4. Since there are so many squad mates, send them on various separate missions (or even support missions) giving us the ability to assume control of the leader of the squad. Kinda of like KOTOR 2 did at various times.

5. Return to the power cool down requirement of Mass Effect 1. In other words, have invidiual cool down times for each power so one can use different powers right after the other.

6. Return to the point system of talents, so our character can be a bit more individualized.

7. Eliminate resource gathering.

Moderate Wishes

1. Develop our Shepard's interests and beliefs. Some personal stuff that makes them unique. What does Shepard like to do? Religion? Sports? Music? Read? Future? Family? And perhaps show Shepard engaging in more leisure activity.

2. Can we please focus on some more mannerisms for the female Shepard. Perhaps she could learn to walk, dance, and cross her legs and such.

3. The option to choose just one or two weapons. Give us a ammo toggle on the weapon. To me, its an eye sore seeing all that on my back, especially the huge heavy weapon.

4. Please don't raise the system requirements much higher. I want to be able to play on this machine.

3...4 times the content? That would make it REALLY expensive. And think of people trying to have a real life, too. Sometimes the sun is shining outside and so on or you want to practice your flirting skills on friday night :-)

3. To be able to go rogue. The council and TIM both exasperate me.

isn't this ability already given? You can kill the council and make TIM angry.

Everyone has pretty much summed up what I want.

Have the ability to:

Cure the genophage.

Help the quarians.

and.... hook up other crew members. For example Garrus and Tali. Or Jacob and Miranda.

Here are some things i want
  •  on the normandy i want squad and crew members to be able to walk around and do stuff like the cook makes some food then some people come down and eat it
  • more stuff to do on the normandy because the only reason to go to any floor(besides the CIC) is to talk to someone

  • i want some some space battles but not like star wars more like some pirates want to take over the ship so they board the ship and your crew runs to the armory and gets some guns and all of your squad mates come and battle (you battle too) it is totaly random and can happan at a dock too and all injured crew members will be in the infirmary

  • able to go spacewalking on and around the ship like after a space battle sometimes joker ask you to repair the hull or something and you can do it for fun of course

  • squad members can interract with other squad members fighting, talking, playing cards, build relateionships

  • I WANT TO GO ON EARTH

  • make the citadel bigger

  • make omega more violent

Of all the things in the game one could have niggling issue with, the big change in ME2 which I wish dearly would go away in ME3 is the main action key. Whoever had the idea of using the same key to TAKE cover and vault OVER cover - directly into a maelstrom of enemy fire - should be taken to the woodshed and given a renegade Shepard treatment. This is honestly one of the stupidest concepts I've ever come across in 25 years of playing video games. Go to safety and go to danger should never, ever, be the same button people. Otherwise, Mass Effect has been awesome. Just keep doing whatever it is that works =D

^ Seriously.

Different keys for use object, run, take cover and vault/leave cover, please.

This is driving me nuts. I really hate console controller compromises being carried over to PC ports.

I´d love to have more side-missions, that are as exciting as the one, where you had to atract Morinth. That one really stood out, because it put you into a totally unknown position: You had to play a role and couldn´t get any further by combat-skills. Also you had to really remember exactly what Samara told you and it was way easier to fail. That way everything was very tense and exciting. Bioware really should make more of these great sidemissions and less of the repeating routine of shooting yourself through.

To the skill system: I think it was handled very well but it could use some more abilities to make the classes more unique. Don´t get me wrong, the classes already were very diverse in ME2, but I´m relying on the developers to add more talents to it all. That way you´ll think more about what skill you want to improve.

To the inventory and weapon-system, I also think it was handled better in ME2 than in ME1, but there sure could be some more individualisation. For example: Why not let the players use the resaerch-system to develope their weapons in the way they want? Why not let the players improve not only the damage of their weapons but also the accuracy, magazine-volume, ammo and shooting mode (like full-automatic, half-automatic, three-shot). It would be easy to keep that system simple as there are only 3-5 values, the player can change about his weapons and still there would be much more individualisation.

Lastly, indidualisation in general: Please don´t be afraid to push the diversity of the diffrent classes even further. This was one of the strongest things about ME2 and the reason it also provided gameplay and not just a great world to play in. I think, for example, that it wouldnt be any problem, if you´d let the adept build biotic walls infront of your squad, erase all gravity in a place full of enemies and throw them around in a direction given by the player but just let them use a single one-handed gun or even no weapons at all. I think that the people playing this mostly don´t demand a well-known routine in every class they play but want to be able to play in many diffrent ways. All the others can play the soldier and be happy with it.

P.S. It was right to untie the decisions you can make from the skills you have, those two things should have nothing to do with wach other.

I forgot: I´d like to have the possiblity to go really rogue and take over Cerberus myself if I want to. Maybe in a mission, where I have to decide, if I want to work for the alliance or cerberus.

P.S. Of course I´m really a paragon-shepard, but the game should provide an option for those, who ruthlessly want to take matters in their own hands.

P.P.S. If I haven´t said yet, that I think both ME-Games are great and that I have the best faith for the upcoming one, I do this now.

2 things:

1. Nudity (You got away with it and when fox news critisised you we taught then a lesson ((Amazon Book Ratings)) and you can get away with it again. If GTA IV can show male genetalia than some boobs will be just fine.)

2. Casey Hudson Cameo (Maybe as God or something)

Dont start us off at level 1 again. It made sense story wise for mass effect 2 but it would be a real stretch to start off at level 1 again. All the more annoying because with the DLC coming out there is more of an attachment to the characters.

I am not criticizing yout ideas at all. I am just giving some thoughts about these things. Personally I would not like crewmembers to walk around as I would prefer not having to explore normandy again and again or to ask the AI. I think it is difficult to realize and all have their tasks which limit them to stay near their quarters or labs. If you have to do more on the Normandy, you convert the game into a GTA-thing. One thing I disliked about that game when I saw it on my cousin's PS2 was, that you had to go to the gym, had to deal with your girlfriend had to do this and that and there where hours of gameplay just like the so much criticized scanning in ME2.

i got better idea the squad and crew should only move in a small area like the engineners would only move to the computer by the drive core and to the computer they are at now

about more stuff to do on the normandy i ment you could play sillyan five poker with the crew or something like that, just stuff you don't have to do

All my weapons/upgrades, money, resources transferred from ME2 to ME3. Would like my grenades back. More weapons to purchase and find [Licenses bought in ME1 should finally count for something].  More customization for armour and weapons like in ME1.

1. I would love to see more customization of the weapons

2. I disliked when shepard spoke without a dialoge option

3. I loved every squad member in ME1 and only 2 returned, and i loved the two that returned and the new squad mates, I DONT WANT TO LOOSE THESE GUYS, can most of the be squadmates once more? (preferably garrus, thane, mordin, and tali!)

4. Alot of me1 choices did transfer, but led to an incredibly small impact

5. Space battles of course would be sweet

6. IF shepard died, can the new character be of any race? that be pretty cool...

7. We had 5 (i think its 5) human squad mates, id like to see more races in the squad, maybe elcor or batarian... or my dream squadmate... a volus warrior (not kidding i really want a volus squadmate)

8. Where are the turian females? krogan females? asari males? i wana see em

9. fuel... sucks... no more please

10. love interest continue from me2 to me3, i wanted to continue the first one butttt no possible... so can we please continue our reletionship into me3 now

11. i found it frustrating to talk to my companions in the normandy because the loading between each floor, is there anyway to make this quicker?

12. Can the final decision of the game have a bigger impact this time, i played the game with a file where the council died, and one were they lived, difference was minimal...

13. Why did the citidel shrink? make it bigger again

14. gimme back mi grenados amigo

Hmm, quite a few I want to throw out there before its too late.

- Bring back Garrus and Tali in ME3. Provided that they survive, they should be recruitable squadmates again. Bringing back a couple of the ME2 squadmates, and a couple of the other originals wouldn't hurt either.

- I'd like to see more missions like the suicide mission, in the sense that you could designate certain teammates to lead a second team, etc. The one's in the mid game don't necessarily have to be potentially fatal to squadmates, but rather serve to simply narrow down the player's squadmate options during a mission. Also helps to give the feeling that the whole team is doing something.

- Keep the ammo system and ME2 combat system in, it worked much better than the first game.

- Make the loyalty system a bit more complex. One thing that could be done is to have a concept similar to the friend system in GTA IV, where you can do certain activities (i.e. drinking, eating, playing cards, etc.) to build friendships. In the case of Mass Effect, you could drinking at Dark Star with Garrus, take Grunt to Chora's Den, stuff like that. This could also allow for mini games, i.e. Skyllian Five poker.

- Story wise, I'd personally like to see some other spectres in action.

- More customization for weapons/armor. The armor customization was amazing in ME2, but always room for improvement right? As for weapons, maybe adding attachments like a scope, extra ammo capacity, and the like would be nice.

- Following up on the previous one, the ammo improvements should be customization upgrades instead of abilities.

- A point I've seen mentioned here before, the soldier class abilities could be more along the lines of squad bonuses, etc.

- Story wise, more character development between the characters. For example, the conflict between Jack and Miranda being resolved, either culminating in them killing each other, or reconciliation, depending on the player's actions of course :D.

- I'd like to see some more large scale battles. For example, the a joint Council army clashes against a large Geth army. Or Shepard and his/her ENTIRE team, have to hold out against several waves of Blue Suns, or something like that.

- The interrupt system could be expanded to a more complex quick time event system, like the one seen in Heavy Rain. Like if there's a cinematic where Shepard could potentially kill someone in two different ways, allow us to choose between the two.

- Ability to toggle helmets again.

- More customization for party member armour? Or at least give characters spacesuit outfits instead of giving them simple breathing masks. Seriously, running around half naked in space with nothing but a breathing mask isn't going to do you any good (Jack, cough). Hell, it bugged me so much, I could only take Garrus and Tali on those missions, since they were the only ones with actual spacesuits. Possibly, it could be made so that the individual squad members have unique parts that you can mix and match.

- I consider this to be the most important point on my wishlist. Be creative Bioware, and make Mass Effect 3 amazing in whatever way you guys feel is the best.

- All the ingame cinematics seem to use the exact same animations, although with different characters. Maybe add a bit more variation to it. If there's a cinematic of Shepard holding out against a bunch of geth, it would show him/her going at them with an assault rifle most likely. If Shepard is a class that uses biotic powers, wouldn't it be reasonable to assume that Shepard would actually utilize his/her biotic powers to toss and smash enemies into walls and such?

- Ability to play as different characters for specific missions, possibly flashbacks.

- A tool to create cinematics and cutscenes, like the one in Dragon Age.

There's my two cents, thanks for taking the time to read them. Alot of people here are making very valid statements, and I love the ideas.

I just had an idea on how to please both RPG fans and die-hard action players.
This idea may have been posted, but nonetheless, here it is:

What if BioWare kept the same mechanics and gameplay of ME2 and instead of TOO many weapons, armor, etc. we have around 5 or so.These weapons, however, should be upgraded as in ME1, but with ridiculously big and powerful looking items, that will actaully appear on the weapon itself.

This may give the player the feeling of a somewhat relationship with its weapon or armor.

- ME2 shooting is fine leave it as that but less of the constant enemies, graphics stay similar, maybe a tad improvement (ill let bioware figure that one out)
- ME1 collecting, looting, Exp and exploration although the exploration needs to be more detailed and varied, similar to overlord but missions to do on these worlds, people to meet who arn't always out to kill you, like in ME2 the jacob mission, that was cool...
- ME2 and ME1 for the areas like the citadel, omega and illium... i loved those areas, let us go to earth... involve it in the story like close to the epic last fight,
- keep the dialogue system it rocks
- Some new planets and areas obviously, keep them varied and great to explore and look at, populations you care about and can help out
- other things that bioware want to add will probably work well

:) My thoughts

I would like if we got to have everyone from the first game re-enter and hopefully still have your crew from ME2 (that survived), well I hope Garrus is still a part of your crew anyway ^_^

And I hope BW sticks to their plan aboutt there being 'dire rammifications' due to the decisions you make in number 2, I want to see how Kaiden reacts when he finds out I romanced Garrus ;)

There are a billion dead horses beaten already in this thread and others, some suggestions I agree with, and some I hope BioWare ignore, so I wont rant. This is something that has probably already been suggested, but I'll suggest it anyway thanks to the recent release of Overlord.

I would like to see uncharted worlds in Mass Effect 3, if development time and resources are available, to be a mix of the get-right-to-it on foot missions of Mass Effect 2, and for some to be a bit more open like the Overlord expansion.

In the case of the latter, please allow us to leave the Hammerhead, and if not then at least put some extra story or information to discover in the overworld. Overlord was a big step in the right direction, and while the overworld in that is pretty great and nice to look at, its extremely barren and without any kind of story or secrets. The Data Package collect-a-thon quest was worthless, with the reward being only an achievement.
