all crew members from both (who still live) return to help.
more crew members (hopefully a Vorcha and a Batarian (one of them female to make it intesting))
maybe that Varren who took a liking to Shepard as a party member (or at least a pet on the ship, whom if the reapers send agents to invade your ship again, he saves 1 of the crew members who would normally die)
more upgrdes, weapons, abilities, RPG elements, places to go, stuff to buy, character upgrades having a visual difference on the character (seriously, can we get this at the very least, i want them to look as powerful as they are)
a epic sequence at the end, your fleet consisting on people you helped and alliances you made (save the council in 1, Salarians, Asari, and Turians more inclines to help, let the Rachni Queen live, she send some Rachni to help, Legion's geth help. etc.)

overall i want major impacts on my game from my actions in mass effect 1 and 2.

I second everything you just said :) cause you took the words right out of my mouth ^^

Also, in order for the game to be larger and satisfying all of us who quite frankly don't really want the Mass Effect saga to end.. just go for the gold and put the last game on four discs.
Yeah, you heard me! Go out with a bang!! A real jewel of four RPG-stuffed discs. With what Bioware have made ME into these days, the last game would surely become the greatest conclusion if they focus on "more".
I mean, what do people mostly ask for on this wishlist? ... MORE!!... "more of this, more of that, more choices, more diversity.. more more more"..   so, I'm telling you... more discs = more information. More information = more things we want :)
It would conquer everything in RPG related history!! :D

One thing which i truly hope they DON'T change in the last game is the new layout for the Normandy, cause that really nailed it.
Multiple floors, lots of people to interact with and accept missions from, layered intrigues and separate sections to discover.

I could just take a break and walk up to the window overlooking the core in the crew's quarters or maybe chit chat with Joker in the cockpit.
I love off-duty loitering where you can just stroll around, doing menial things like venting compressed garbage-cubes into space, having a drink in Kasumi's quarters or listening to crewmates gossip and telling their opinions about recent events. Made it all seem so real and added to the sense of immersion.

The compartments were all believable and very nicely done. The aesthetic design spelled out that you were on a human ship; very high-tech with gleaming explanatory text on the walls, but also a lot of comfort and realism.

With the captain's cabin, it personalized a small space for shepard onboard the ship. That was brilliant, cause in the first game, Shepard was just a guy walking around the ship without any place to put his belongings, so to speak. He didn't have his personal quarters and that was a bit of a drag.
But the captain's cabin gave me the feeling of actually being a captain of the Normandy. (even though his rank is Commander) ^^

Would have been fun to see shepard use the men's restroom for real. ^^

Shepard did have quarters on the first Normandy. To the left of the corridor with all the sleeper pods. It's where the magic happens.

1. Add pausing during cutscenes (just like in Red dead)
2. Keep the ammo system.
3. Try to minimize load screens (I liked elevators for that reason... bring them back... but use more variety... like shuttles, trains, etc)
4. Removable helmets for DLC armor.
5. Make all armor modular.
6. Integrate mission levels/locations into the gaming world. Make sure you can go back (maybe have small easter eggs when you return), and re-use key locations (you visit a district of an earth city to buy/sell/etc and later in the game it is being invaded and you are fighting enemies... like ME1).

Technically, you can pause at any time during any game by hitting the guide button.

Oh yeah, right.. forgot he had to have somewhere private when you did the dirty with one of two possible victims ^^

But still.... not much personalized, was it?
ME2 greatly improved upon his private space.

idk about anyone else but me3 needs to provide more sniper ammo, I'm constantly running out of sniper ammo before missions are over. I love to use a sniper rifle but it sucks when you run out right before a boss fight O.o.

Another suggestion for ME3 is introducing something from Shepard's past; something tangible that shows a bit of who Shepard is, like a mission in regards to whatever personal backstory you chose for him/her when you started out. For instance, there could be something he has to do on Akuze and he gets to relive his horrible escape from the Threshers, and so on.

Or maybe something from his family comes back to haunt him...

The possibilities open to such an event would be plentifull and would add answers to the mystery of the man/woman.

It would not be so much what he DOES as it would be who he IS.

I don't know if this can be implemented, but I want to see other spaceships in the galaxy map. I'm thinking of Sid Meier's Pirates!, where you can watch other ships moving between the islands.

instead - they should have made it to where you had large ammounts of ammo at your disposal - and following what the codex said from ME1 [large metal clips that have shavings off of them launched at the enemy at deadly speeds allowing for more ammo than the use of regular bullets] - should have given you a limit on the number of metal clips you had. mabye 2 - 3 a mission. each with at least 200 - 300 rounds each depending on what type of gun it was - obviously smaller clips for smaller guns, larger for larger...etc.

I find the entire magazine system rather strange aswell as ammunition .
I mean that the universe has advanced so much technologically and uses many wonderous technologies but they still use magazines and have to worry about ammunition.

Wouldn't an energy weapon be a lot more sci-fi? Lets imagine a laser based weapons system with a rechargeable battery, you would have to change the battery perhaps but with technology as advanced as in the ME universe even that sounds unnecessary. Atleast in combat that is. But that would make the gameplay simply too easy.

Even modern day militaries have large problems transporting and storaging in a battlefield. I just find it completely silly that people are able to travel across the galaxy but still have to use magazines and ammunition in their guns.

But in the end this is a rather irrelevant thing to think about. I can live with the current weapons system if I get atleast 5 shots for my Cain.

Magazines are kinda better than the epic spray and overheat system ... ok if its a laser gun that shoots a beam like the particle gun of the collektors its ok, but if i use a pistol, i wanna reload in style ^^ !

Can u make it possible to have an ability to have to pistols ? One in each hand ? ... like a special ability ... makes the pistols less precice but give u more fierepower ... same with the MPs... !

Definately this. Dual wielding pistols when you master the weapon would be great.

I would also like to see weapon statistics. This was done OK in ME1, but in ME2 I just lack an overview of weapon stats.

More interactive pets; perhaps different per class.
Examples could be:

Soldier: Varren
Engineer: (Non-)Combat Droid
Infiltrator: Pyjak

Bring back something akin to the Mako missions: free-roaming with the Hammerhead.

As soon as I get to the Collector Ship in my current play-thru, I'm bringing Jack along and making a Demotivator:  "VACCUM EXPOSURE: I find your lack of hardsuit disturbing."

Yeah, that one always bugged me. Seeing miranda run around in vaccum with just a plastic breathing thingy just seem a "little" bit far fetched, no matter what kind of genetic enhancements she may have :? And I wonder where the breathing thingy is getting its air from. It may be possible the tech responsible is located in the heels, or possible built into her body as a result of her genetical enhancements... I demand answer to this in ME3!

ALL the characters have the "no hardsuit" problem, with precisely three exceptions: Shepard, Garrus, and Tali (who's stuck in a hardsuit all the time).  Not sure if Mordin's counts as hardsuit-able...

I could see just a breather mask in a vaccum for emergency hull breach gear (like Joker's breather mask in the scenery gorn prologue), but planned deployments into known hostile or sensitive environments without a hardsuit?  WTH?  Why are the Quarians allowing Miranda to shed hairs and Jack to shed skin flakes about?

True enough. Grunt got hardsuit as well, and mordin... looks like he got what could be a hardsuit, his "helmet" on the other hand...

Id really like it if Asari and Batarian enemies wore race-specific armor.

This is something that also bugged me with Liara in ME1.

I would think Batarians and Asari would have developed their own armor, I dont get why they always have to be in the same stuff humans wear. Yes I know they have similar body types, and its probably to save space in the game so they can reuse the same models, but its just something Id really like to see.

I think the squadmates are going to be the biggest part of Mass Effect 3.

I'd love these Squadmates:

At least 3 Humans

2 Turians (1 Being Garrus)

2 Salarians

2 Asari

2 Krogan (Bring Wrex Back?)

1 MALE Quarian (or 2 if they keep in tali/another female)

Legion

Kolyat Krios (Thane's Son) (or just any awesome Drell)

1 Batarian.

Possibly a Vorcha.

I think that's enough. Obviously they must me making some new species and i hope they add them into the squad like Thane, not like Batarians.

I know this doesn't have to be Mass Effect 3, it could be a DLC, but i'd like to see a Sniper-Shotgun. It has a long range zoom and shoots out like 10 Slugs at a time. Awesome?

And lots of Achievements to go through. Lots.

Ideas for a different limit on special abilities (at least for Tech and Biotics) instead of cooldowns: Mana.

Sorta.

For Tech skills, the mana is OmniGel. You start off each level with a full load, and consume it as tech-type skills are used. You may find a few bits of scrap interspersed that you can gel-ify with your omnitool (maybe have some upgrade that yields more, or have that be a quality variable on omnitools in a possible re-RPGized inventory system in ME3). The pool is shared between all squadmates.

Unless ammo mods as they were in ME1 return, special ammo type powers would also use omnigel, and load a limited number of shots into each gun.

How do Biotics have mana? Out of the stamina bar. In the fluff text, it states that biotics in the military have a higher-calorie diet than their non-biotic comrades since the law of conservation of energy is still in effect with biotics. Biotic classes could have a faster stamina bar recharge rate, but that's offset by biotics drawing their mana from the stamina bar. You could chain together a few biotic attacks, but then you find yourself out of breath and cornered after your biotic display. Oops.

Ive already expressed my desire for team mates, but Ive been thinking it over a bit more.

I think that they should give us a long roster of characters who we can recruit for our team, but we shouldnt be able to recruit all of them. Set a limit, so if we have 20 characters to pick from, we can only choose 10.

Also I think past actions, such as if you gained their loyalty in ME2, should matter on if they can be convinced to join you. For instance, if you lost Miranda's loyalty, she would go back to Cerberus instead of following you, or if you lost Tali's loyalty, she would still be hurt by you throwing her father under the bus to trust you enough, etc etc.

I believe that we should be able to have the option of picking from all the former team mates from ME1 and ME2, depending on who is alive and loyalty. Ashley/Kaidan and Liara + 1 person from ME2 would be a given, as A/K and Liara survive ME1 and ME2, and you need at least one person alive to save you at the end of ME2. Also, I would hope Thane is not an option. His illness would leave him too weak or dead, and I dont want them going the route of curing him, completely making much of his interactions in ME2 pointless. So this would make for 14 possible teammates.

Next I would hope they would give us a chance to recruit people we have met before. Conditions for these teammates being available would rest on if they survived the situations where we met them.
1. Sidonis, Turian. Available if survives Garrus's loyalty mission.
2. Kal'Reegar, Quarian. Available if survives Tali's recruitment mission.
3. Shiala, Asari. Available if spared at the end of the Feros mission.
4. Maelon, Salarian. Available is survives Mordin's loyalty mission.
5. Conrad Verner, Human. Available if survives his own stupidity.
So this brings the total up to 19

Finally, I would assume that they would add brand new characters into the fold, so here are my ideas.
1. Hanar. Pure biotic since they cant lift anything. Would have amazing recharge time on powers to make up for lack of guns. Only available depending on actions with Preaching Hanar/Opold.
2. Elcor. Slow moving weapons specialist. Has high armor and can use heavy weapons. Only available depending on actions with Harrot.
3. Volus. Biotic/Tech specialist. Only weapon choice is a pistol. Only available depending on actions with Pitne For/Jahleed/Niftu Kal
4. Batarian. Tech and Weapon specialist. Only available depending on actions with Charn/Cathka.
5. Raloi. Always available
6. Female Krogan/Salarian/Turian. Always available.
So this leads to a final total of 25 characters to choose for your team.

Its a lot, but I think it would be neat, and would allow for more replay value, since the game could be very different depending on who you are able to recruit and do recruit.
