Hair, Clothing, and Armor

Better hair types for females! I like the messy layered look but have you seen the mods others are doing? And why is it every other girl I meet has better hair then me! I want different hair dos in fact I want DLC for ME2! Come on guys give the ladies some love and style!

I can understand players wanting more variety in terms of hair style, but the "messy" look or anything similar to it should not be an option.  Commander Shepard is a hardened marine.  Not only is it impractical, but simply unnecessary.  When I'm shooting a gun, I make sure my hair is out of my face.

2. Also Armor for FShep that doesn't make her look like a boy! I Don't want to be all Hello Kitty feminine but honestly I do have a chest one piece of current armor makes me look flat as a board! I don't want that!!! 3. I want kick ass armor that looks as bad ass as the boys but actually says I'm a girl under here! Sorry my characters a girl I can't hide that!

The armor for a female is tailored for a female, as it fits Shepard's curve and female shape; she does not "look like a boy."  She looks like a marine.  Precisely how would you tailor the armor to "[say] I'm a girl under here"?  I am genuinely curious and right now, I can only imagine the worst case scenario with regards to 'feminine' armor.  I like the armor as is because it's more or less how armor should be while still being relatively aesthetic and appealing.  The idea of 'feminizing' armor is actually insulting; this is not dress-up.  I rather hate this idea.

5. Give the girl Shepards some fashion clothing and not the sleazy wear I see some of them wearing like Wong sported in ME1 I don't want that If I wanted to look like a hooker I'd run around naked! Give me pants, cute tops, skirts, hats, things like that maybe I could dress and color her outfits as I want even raid, collect, and buy them! Give the girls some love!

Again, not dress-up.  This is not a character from The Sims; this is a battle-hardened warrior and commander.  Skirts, "cute tops," and hats are an outrageously ridiculous idea.  Fashion.  It would be difficult for me to take a strong female character seriously if this so-called warrior is flouncing around in skirts and sporting different fashionable hats as casual wear on a warship.  More variety for or even more appealing casual wear / military fatigues, sure.  But this is not a fashion show.

I realize this is a wishlist and is, for the most part, relatively harmless.  And I do apologize for being somewhat harsh and singling you out, but these suggestions just made me facepalm in the absolute worst way as a part of my wishlist is to not include such things.  One of the very few, rare female protagonists for games and a soldier to boot and we want to dress her up?  I feel things like this would mar Shepard's image and personality and more importantly, her role as a strong, female protagonist and leader that gamers--in a male-dominated form of entertainment--can take seriously.  I certainly wouldn't able to.

I'd like - or at least I'd giggle at - the whole battle coming down to the planet Klencory in the Newton System at Kepla Verge, where the Billionaire Kumun Shol has, on the instructions of 'Beings of Light', been looking for the device that'll protect organic life from 'The Machine Devils'.

Obviously I've played through ME1 again recently...

I also thought it very interesting that when The Council gives you the one concrete lead it offers (Vermire), the Turian Council Member isn't present (or at least isn't shown).

I just have one wish -

Please make it more like RPG (ME1) and not a shooter (ME2)

I think they need a good balance of RPG and shooter elements to complement the fact you're playing an RPG but it also needs decent combat. I think it would be a nice idea for Bioware to look at playing as a different species but not in ME3. I also think we need a more interesting and more touching romance throughout.

Everyone has already mentioned my opinion...bit less shooting and more story.  There are just some little things that I would love to see though.

1)  Moments.  The success of any story is built on moments. A bit of plot for just male AND just female characters, specifically.  Not only would it increase playthough, but it would lend greater credibility to Shepherd's character as a whole.

Although I believe in the equality of the sexes, there is certainly something to be said for the different approaches we take to the same problem, and differences in friendships.  Not just in picking a sex partner either.  Often it feels like everything requires the "shoot first", "tough guy" or "ice queen" view of things.

2) Animations.  Bioware has lovely attention to detail most of the time, but can a female Shepherd please stop running and sitting like a man?  I realise that they just used the same animations, but please.  Look at the cutscenes with Aria and a femaile Shepherd in Afterlife if you need an example.  It really stands out - BADLY!

3) Armor and Weapons everywhere.  This is just a pet peeve, but why does Shepherd have to wear combat armor everywhere?  Even on the Citadel, he/she wears it constantly.  It's rather like putting up a sign, saying "Here I am! Shoot at me!"  In real life, even in the military, they only wear body armor when they expect a fight.  Wearing it everywhere with a gun on the hip, feels like a shooter instead of an immersive story.   The decision to wear or not wear gear could affect plot points after all.

4) Editor.  Please add an editor, like you did with Dragon Age!  There is so much fan material out there, and you still make quite a tidy sum on official DLC.  It only adds to the experience, and I'd be happy to pay an extra $5 in the cost of the game if it was available.

Thanks for reading!

I would like the inclusion of sandbox environments for those who particularly enjoy the shooter aspects of this series. For those who would like to hone their combat skills, it would be nice if there were options to fight batarian slavers, pirates, or random animals on several of the scores of planets available. This would confer NO experience or stat bonuses; it would simply allow players who like to shoot things (or use their biotics on them) to do so whenever they wanted.

I want the writers of ME3 to have the balls to do what the writers of Red Dead Redemption did: don't sacrifice the plot for the ADD gamer's sake. RDR has really long lulls in the gun-play that you can't skip but in turn it gives the game a lot more weight and immersion. The beginning of ME2 is the best example of this. It turned what could have been a moment of introspection, vulnerability, and humanity for Shepard into a shoot fest and it could have been so much more. It's kind of sad that ME2 and Saints Row 2 almost have the exact same opening mission. And I love me some SR2 but I think ME2 could have done without the over-the-top, action hungry intro with similar plot flaws.

Never played Saints Row but I do think they wasted a good opportunity to give Shepard some humanity and character development with the waking up in Cerberus mission start.

As far as being singled out not offended, I do get what your saying but allowing a FShep access to different girl only armors is better and adds to the story she may be a solider but even women soilders like to not lose their femininity completely.

It would in my opinion add to the enjoyment of the game its not a major plot serving device but changing colors gets boring there are only so many tones in the color spectrum. Besides if you didn't want girl type armor for FShep you would not be forced to buy it.

question: maybe its b/c i'm a guy or whatever, but how would it be 'better' and how would it add to the story?  i mean...your saying armor might add something to the plot of Mass Effect?  I don't understand.  and i dont think blackvelvet meant losing femininity - just not to like go crazy since it's not really in shepard's character.  how would you know what women soldiers like anyway?  most tomboys i meet are offended by the idea of skirts and sending out a 'fashion statement' lol. and i am curious as well how you picture these girl-only armors.  i thought my femshep looked just fine and feminine and curvy in her armor.  unless your thinking more...form-fitting?  or a cat suit?  :P which, i wouldnt mind at all, really.  some eye candy would not hurt at all

I also think it would be nice if we were given sandbox environments but my only worry about that is how they would pass the time as the combat would eventually become boring.

I would like to point some loot issue what I like to be improved in ME3.

Basicly many of the games has loot system where is two or more different kind of loot "boxes". One is that it's open to loot and other requires some character or player skill or bashing to get loot. Now the design problem is that there is no different between loot tables of these two different loot "boxes".

I would assume that if anyone puts something behind locks or security system it's usually worth more than some stuff in open "boxes". So, please make the difference between loot tables actually make sensense too. Better loot can be found behind security systems, not in open "boxes". I don't mean that open boxes can't have good loot, but it should be less common than behind good security. Security has no meaning if it's not really used to something.

Hmm... Mass Effect 3...

Retain ME2 character as squadmates (especially your LI).

Conversations between your squadmates. Make them interact with each other.

More side missions, there were too few in ME2 compared to ME1.

Getting to punch TIM right in the face.

A Dragon Age: Origins-ish epilogue, or a playable epilogue.

A really long game. Mass Effect 1 & 2 are too short compared to Dragon Age. Mass Effect 2 with all side missions completed took about 30 hours. DA:O took over 50 hours.

I agree with Marzillius about retaining the ME2 squad and the intersquad conversations. I also agree that more side missions should be included and ME3 deffinently needs to be longer but I might also add more dialogue with characters. It was so annoying that you'd just start to get to know a character and then the conversations end. I also think it would be great if the squad members you took on missions commented on what happened in the mission.

My wish list for Mass Effect 3 goes a little like this;

New villians. Saren could have had a brother.

Would be cool to find out that Harbinger was a actually a rogue reaper acting alone with the collectors, trying to help the Human Race the only way he knew how, by creating a human reaper. Therefore by killing the human reaper Shepard has royally screwed everyone. The Illusive Man could have known this and is actually working for the reapers. Cool twist.

I'd love a solo mission. Shepard on his own would be awesome.

Zero-G missions like in Dead Space.

If your Shepard is male then your romantic partner from ME1 got pregnant and had your kid while you were being rebuilt. This would be an amazing twist to the story, Shepard no longer has just himself to think about. And if you didn't stay faithful to Liara or Ash in ME2 you'd have a lot of explaining to do.

Squadmates have the ability to come and go as they please. Especially if they keep the squadmates around from the suicide mission. Mission 's over. Maybe not everybody would want to stick around. ****** a squadmate off enough they'll ask to get dropped off at the next planet.

A Squadmate turns on you during a key mission. The squadmate would be decided by how you treat them and how often you take them out on missions. You wouldn't really feel apart of a team if your stuck on the ship twiddling your thumbs everyday.

If they end up using all the surviving squadmates from ME2 it could be neat if they immediately kill off your least used squadmate and your most used squadmate from ME2. Forcing you to play the New Game in a new way and a great twist to start off the game.

On key missions you have the ability to lose teammates for good if you don't make all the right decisions. Not just during the final mission. This makes each mission all the more interesting and important. No mission is a sure thing

Liara as squadmate

Jack grows out her hair.

More romance drama. Maybe a split decision Like they're on a different ship that gets shot down a by slavers and you have to save the romantic interest or chase down the slavers and save the prisoners that they got away with.

More acknowledging of the romance of Shep in dialogue and other missions. For example in Me2 you boink Jack and she dies 5 minutes later during the suicide mission and its like they didn't even spend the last 13 missions flirting with eachother. Just "oh well that sucks. moving on." If i chose a love interest in the game I want it to be a big point in the game. I mean being involved with someone would effect most of your decisions not just an afterthought. Especially when you're constantly in peril. You'd do anything to make sure signifigant other is safe.

Space dating and other leisurely activities

Hangout with crewmate on downtime.

My own heavy mech squadmate. EDI could control it.

Krogans, Quarians, Geth, The Council Asari commandos etc, all join your cause against the reapers.

Nudity. so what i'm a perv. get over it.

Toggle helmet on/off.

Armor Select in pause menu.

A mission where you go outside the ship during space travel and do some repairs.

oh yeah and more sex like 5 sex scenes for each choice. not just pecks on the cheek either.

Save/sacrifice missions. Like on Virmire in ME1.

Miranda's dad should be the shadow broker

and a cowboy hat for Shepard

whatchoo all think

A mission where you go outside the ship during space travel and do some repairs. - I like that idea.

What I really want to see: OMNI TOOLS!!
If you read the codex in ME, the Omni tool is just that. A universal tool. It would be great to see more uses for it, as opposed to being a Biotic amp for tech powers. For example, when a unique opponent is killed, you head to the body and scan with your omni tool. You find that the weapon has a heavy barrel installed. These plans are stored in your omni tool and any weapon of the same class may be fitted with this mod. You would have to have enough omni gel available to fab the part. This could accomplish a weapon mod system similar to the armor system.  Weapon performance could still be improved overall using the current method as well.  In addition, the armory could actually serve a purpose.  Mods could be adapted to other weapon classes through research, and the fabricated in the armory.  This could also work for armor mods.  Add on pieces to the basic suit.  The off-hand ammo pack could be an addition to any arm piece as opposed to being one on it own.  It is just N7 armor with a pouch on it, right?

Certain mods could then be installed in the field if Shepard or one of the squad mates on the mission are of a specific specialization.  It would take time to fabricate parts though, so a teammate would be inactive for a period of time.  Any interuption wastes the omni gel and you would have to start over. This also allows for different omni tools. One for fab work, one for hacking/bypassing, and one with a long range scan capability.

By the way, I like the current inventory system. I hope it stays. It is difficult to fathom a soldier walking around with 2 spare assault rifles, 1 spare shotgun, 10 types of ammo, 8 weapon mods AND a full suit of armor. I would just like a few more choices with my weapons. Either that, or personalization.

Would anyone else like to weigh in on this?

NO I wasn't saying changing armor adds to the story like its a plot function changing armor is like changing clothing. You don't want to wear the same article everyday do you?

And FShep wears makeup so obviously somewhere her character wants to keep some sort of (for lack of better word) female assemblance if she truly wanted to be like one of the boys she'd for go make up like Ashly did.

I just don't think your armor should make you have football player style shoulder guards some styles of armor on FShep really do not fit her in ME1 Mercenary style look great on her more styles like that would work but not those odd swimsuit like ones.

The armor she is wearing needs to bear in mind her frame most do I would like to see more interesting styles like Terminus on her but with not making her look so football like I mean that armor looks great with MShep because it was made with a male in mind.

A unique armor style bearing in mind her curves would work and why is it you have standard armor anyway? I mean not only are you N7 but you're a Spector standard issue armor should not even exist for such a rank. Use standard for your squad not the main character.

I think the whole armor FShep vs MShep could be removed if they gave her different casual wear I didn't like sporting the evening wear for Kasumi's mission with FShep the dress was too short and too reveling for her but maybe along Benezia style ( slightly less hugging) dress would be ok for her or at least a Female version of MSheps mad max look. She either gets bibs, Drs outfit, Cerberus shorts, or Short dress. She's a civilian right now dressing like one couldn't hurt she can go back to military casual after she rejoins whatever fraction you choose.

Level Up like ME1, not ME2. Have more EXP bonuses.

Squadmates have SLIGHTLY more powers. Not 3.

A much bigger range of powers to choose from, (say 10, and you can choose any 6 for the whole story, with the ability to change them (like retrain powers))

We also need a bigger range of weapons. In ME1 there were hundreds of weapons to choose from from each group but in ME2 there were only 2 heavy pistols, for example. Sure, hundreds weren't great but only 2 was rediculous. Perhaps 3 or 4 in each group would be nice.
