Nother thing, I liked the old way of tech/biotic cooldown times better. So, I would suggest going back to ME1 for that. Also, warp became my favorite power, so maybe the other biotic powers should come up to par. Shockwave was useless, and singularity lost all of its vortex fun. Lift should come back as well.

Oh yes, and of course I won't end this post without begging Bioware to allow Liara, Kaidan/Ashley and Thane to return as full-fledged squadmates in ME3. I guess that implies the Sb is taken care of, Ash/Kai get over themselves, returning to Shepard, and Thane is cured :P

1. Party banter: Bioware has proven that they can do it (DAO), now I dont want to miss it in ME3. It was often quite funny and told you a lot of things about the men/women you traveled with.

2. Conclusion to the relationships (especially those started in ME1). Not only for the LI´s, but for those squadmembers that openly hated each other. (Jack attacking Miranda, Tali vs Legion)

3. I also wish ME3  to be just as great as ME2 is. :)

My wish list for ME3:

Return of old squadmates

I grew quite attached to my squad and hope all living team mates (ME1 and ME2) will be available as full squaddies in ME3. Some I wouldn’t mind to meet in cameos only, but to be fair to everyone I think no one should be left behind. I wouldn’t mind to obtain some new squadmates, although I think that in case you sacrificed your entire team, you should have to face the consequences.

More party banter

I’d like to have substantially more party interaction. I sometimes got the impression that Shepard was the only individual my squadmates were talking to. The Tali/Legion and Miranda/Jack confrontations were a good start, but I would love to see more; and not only fights but maybe some friendship bonding too. I want Jack and Grunt talking about fighting, Thane and Samara about spirituality, Mordin and Dr Chakwas about medicine and so on.

I really liked that one scene on Illium when the two squaddies in your team comment on disobeying orders and wish there would have been more of them.

Relationship development

I think most LIs are introduced by now, so I hope in ME3 the focus will be on development and bringing the romance to the next level. I want something beyond the first night. I want candlelight dinner, talking about the future, maybe a proposal or even a serious disagreement. I also want the romance to be noticed outside the Normandy. My Shepard romanced Thane and it was sad to see that the romance never really left life support. I know it can’t be done throughout the game, but I think in some key scenes the LI could say or do something special. It wouldn’t have to be much, but just a sentence or two to show that there is an actual romance going on.

I think DA:O did a way better job in the banter and romance department than ME did.

Weapon and armor customization

I don’t mind the new ideas, I actually quite like the upgrades and the fact that you have to choose a weapon before the mission and then stick to it. However, I miss the customization options from ME1. It was a lot of fun and I hope it might make a return in ME3.

Throughout the entire game I wanted to buy Garrus a new armor. I just thought it was damn silly to let him wander around in that broken thing the whole time.

Alternative use for minerals

I scanned all the planets and took lots of probes because I thought it would pay off in some way or another. Some already suggested having a marketplace to sell excessive resources. Maybe a quest or two involving minerals would be nice. We could help a remote colony in dire need of resources or we could invest them in science projects which might give us a small advantage in the final battle. I just want to do something with all that stuff
before my Normandy explodes of sheer overload.

Also, please make planet scanning less tedious and a bit more fun!

Decisions in previous games do matter

I want to see consequences! I want to experience how decisions made in ME1 and ME2, sometimes made in good faith and in tune with our conscience, come back to haunt us in ME3. Give me drama, give me hard decisions, and not so much black and white please!

To finish off let me say I really liked the game. Improvements I enjoyed:

-Emails (although I wouldn’t mind to be able to reply to some of them)
-The star map (it’s a lot prettier and I can finally see which planets I haven’t visited yet)
-Fuel burning (I am probably the only one who thinks it’s a good idea)
-Kelly, EDI and Joker
-Non-repetitive areas in side quests
-Paragon/Renegade interrupts
-Loyalty quests

The only big complain I have is about Legion and my little trip to the Citadel.
I was honestly very disappointed when there was no reaction whatsoever. If it is story wise impossible to include mass panic or another reaction in the game then simply make Legion unavailable as squadmate in these areas. Or please give me some believable explanation why nobody is freaking out seeing an actual Geth strolling around.

And last but not least: Please give us the option to cure Thane if we want to! ^_^
A longer game and more sidequests would also be appreciated.

Mordin Solus as a romance option would be awesome. Am I the only girl who has a retarded infatuation for salarians? I mean there's just something about that "Model Scientist Salarian" song. :P

My full wishlist for ME2

Romance Love Interest -

First of all because I am in love with Liara, I will make it clear that a game without her romance being fulfilled will be a huge disappointment for me. Some suggestions would be, marriage, babies, or simply happily ever after. I know this isn’t a dating sim, neither would I want it to be, but there is a need to culminate this lovely Liara relationship. Now to be fair I will speak for all romances. Please give us closure.

Combat-

I thoroughly enjoyed the new combat system. Personally I would like to see more weapons and armor. A whole lot more armor. What we had in ME2 was almost laughable IMO. I know this isn’t a fashion show, but more options would be greatly appreciated.

Mission Structure-

Combat felt smooth, but missions were short. I loved the missions, let me repeat, I LOVED THE MISSIONS and it’s structure, but they were a tad too short. The variety of the missions were also spot on. You all have outdone yourselves.

customization-

This is one of the only areas where I have a gripe.

Squad members- there was little to no customization here. One extra outfit per squad member??? I thought that was bad, but again this is my most frustrating gripe. Yet again I think I understand why you did it. No commander tells his team what to wear (style wise). But anywho, I would like to see clothing customization come back in ME3.

Weapons- This was also completely missing. Not only were there a small amount of weapons, but there was no customization. I would like to be able to able to get more options in weapons. In addition to this, I would love to be able to add accessories to weapons. Like different sights to different models of the same weapons and be able to change the colors if possible(not anything wild like a navy blue gun, but general weapon colors).

Shepherd- I think this was also “limited”. I think more clothing options are in order (specially the clothing wore on the Normandy). Also more armor options as stated above.

Story- I have almost no critique here. You all nailed the story and I think that how you did it in ME2 was better because we got the chance to know our squad better. Personally I feel a little slighted because my favorite character was in ME1 (Liara), and although we got to know her fairly well, we had no loyalty missions where you learned more. Although Noveria was kind of a Liara loyalty mission come to think of it. Either way, please continues this in ME3. If there is one thing I would like to see change, is for you all to add more in between missions that keep the main arc going. I love how you peppered in the collector ship, Reaper ship and horizon missions to keep the pace going on the suicide mission, but I think maybe a few more could have been added. Good job in this area.

Take fans request with a grain of salt - INCLUDING mine, although I know you will. I just don’t want you to eliminate non-forumite requests because they are not posting in this thread or making a crazy amount of noise about their favorite things about ME. What am I saying? Don’t eliminate making a great Kaidan romance finalization in ME3 because Jacobs’s fans made the most noise, which would be an injustice.

There you have it. I LOVE YOU BIOWARE keep doing what you’re doing, you are making history and I’m a part of it. That is one thing that makes it so special.

P.S. I bought both ME1 and ME2 twice (one for PC and 360) so can my wish list count twice? LOL. Then again, I’m serious…

Off the top of my head:

1. Bring back planetary exploration. The Mako's control response could use some tweaking, but as clumsy as it was it was still a lot more fun than scanning planets. One thing I'd like immensely is to have the planet's "parameters" like atmosphere composition, weather and gravity have an effect both on what the environment looks like (as opposed to the same randomly-generated-looking terrain of ME planets) and gameplay.

2. Better customization of weapons, skills and armor for both Shepard and the teammates. Picking your weapon and armor as you leave the ship and sticking to it is realistic and should stay, looted weapons and armor should be scanned for blueprints rather than picked up (especially armor), but "small" things like mods that improve weapon damage or rate of fire should be lootable and usable right away.

3. Quality over quantity when it comes to teammates. Don't get me wrong, I liked all 11 in ME2, and the concept of loyalty through quests should be kept...but still I preferred ME's gradual, more realistic way of building relationship with your teammates to the abrupt "Hey, let's screw." or worse yet, "Thank you for helping with my quest. I've nothing more to say.". The same three or four teammates were with me for 90% of the missions, and the space saved by having fewer teammates could be put to good use in other ways (more conversations, more party banter, more quests, etc)

4. Female aliens. I don't mind if all turians/elcor/volus look the same, giving a few of the speaking ones female voices would work just fine. At least give a codex explanation for the lack of females (species is hermaphroditic, lacks sexual dimorphism, females stay at home...)

I never was able to understand the portable pocket wormhole players use in a large number of games which allows them to access hundreds of items on a whim, while 90% of the time the player keeps the same equipment or simply upgrades to a new weapon or armor when they find something better on the mission. In Mass Effect 1 I think I changed my Shepherd's set of armor maybe three to four times, upgrading it with better "upgrades" as necessary. In Mass Effect 2 it felt like I changed the loadout a lot more than that as I received more and more pieces.

Mass Effect 2 made more sense in that regard. Computer RPG-type inventories have always been clunky, nonsensical, often immersion breaking, and often a mini-game in space management that simply didn't need to be there in the first place.

I mean, what is more realistic: Shepherd jumps out of the back of the Normandy carrying 50 assault rifles, 75 upgrade packs, 10 sets of armor designed for multiple species, oh and this is all in addition to the standard equipment he's wearing. Like, I don't carry my wardrobe around with me all day, I pick what I wear before I leave the house and anything I need to carry with me.

I really think the Mass Effect 2 inventory system or lack thereof was perfect. It felt like one of the only RPGs to get that sort of thing right.

Now don't get me wrong- more weapons and armor pieces are a
wonderful thing- I just don't think that an inventory is necessary to
accomplish this.  The existing system with more options would be my
preference.

Maybe change the word "loyalty" to "focus". The loyalty system of this game was based on how committed the team was to the mission at hand and their ability to continue without being distracted at a critical moment. Loyalty I felt was a bad word to describe it. Commitment or Focus I feel are much more descriptive terms.

I've read bits and pieces of the thread, so please bear with me if I repeat any ideas that have come before my own!

No new or very few (one or two) new teammates.  ME2 was all about building an incredible team, let's keep that team and kick some hiney!  Whoever was Shep's LI should be back in ME3. No cameos, I mean full on squadmate goodness.  I understand the desire for fresh faces and interesting stories, but ultimately this is your Shepard's story coming to a close.  Please let the people you recruited and went through hell and back with together be right there next to you at the end (both ME1 and ME2).  And yes, this is also my Thane plea (sad puppy eyes), please don't let him die, let Thane and Shep be together!

Someone earlier mentioned no love scene before the final battle, instead moving it earlier in the game, I approve.  One of the things that bothers me just a tich is that it almost feels like a booty call, let's hit the sheets since we might not be alive tomorrow.  While fun and edgy in a sense, it's also time to take it to the next level.  Thane's romance feels like a very deep connection to Shepard, I'm sure the Tali and Garrus fans feel their romance was also a very strong connection to Shep.  I'm not trying to leave other LIs out here, trust me I think they all should get their due, but I'd like to see something more in the culimnation of the romance between you and your LI.

Planet Scanning.  Fun and quirky, interesting the first 3-4 even 5 times.  Horribly boring pain in the pyjak butt after that.  I understand time sinks and I like reading about the different planets.  I like the idea behind planet scanning and I would like to see an element of it retained in ME3.  I would love to see half Mako missions / half planet scanning, even if that means a reduced amount of planets.
More equipment options.  ME1 to ME2 was like going from feast to famine.  I don't mind that the inventory system was done away with, something needed to be done.  But this time it seems like the problem is too little selection / variety instead of too much.  I would love to see a happy medium, if it's possible.

I like how the experience system has changed and the talents have been streamlined - KEEP!

Overall, I like many of the improvements to ME2 over ME1, the team did an excellent job and should feel incredibly proud.

Love ME2. I really love the character based missions, the interrupt system, ant the ability to personalize one's room and armor. Can't wait for ME3. Here are some suggestions for the 3rd installment:

1. Continuation of ME1 romances and maybe ME2 (for those who did romances in ME2). Preferably more dialogues with them.
2. More Joker-EDI banter. love them both.
3. An option to give EDI a face?
4. Reply to emails--not sure how this is possible though.
5. The ability to sell some minerals
6. The ability to resell armor.
7. More casual clothing options esp. for women.
8. more background on the illusive man
9. Origin related quests
10. Flashbacks of origin stories and psych profiles? - ex. mission on Akuze, the Blitz, etc.
11. take the pet varren on the ship
12. female turians
13. Bigger citadel --let us see the repaired version
14. More pet varieties.
15. Show us Tali's face

Well... my wishes for ME3?

Let me try to explain it like this:

ME1 was already an awesome game, some flaws, especially in combat and sidequests, but awesome.

ME2 is one of the VERY, VERY few games which have an astonishing first part, but the second part is in EVERY single aspect way better.

I guess, the story isn't that much better since the one in ME1 was already ... perfect, regarding the kind, type and idea of the game, but it's really the momentary top of stories in games overall in my opinion, considering that ME has only 2 games out yet and some comics.

So I can't put in a lot of improvement-ideas, because in my eyes BioWare created the best result possible with ME2. The only thing holding me back to say that this is technically the best game I ever played is the fact, that after I finished it I don't feel like "a GODDNESS among games I played right now".. more like "HOLY, how can I survive the waiting for ME3 now? I WANT to see what's coming next". It simply doesn't give you the statisfaction of being complete, although in no way you can know what will happen next to the galaxy after the game (same awesome state like at the end of ME1).

So, to finally point at the center.

I have no idea if or how ME3 can be as better as ME2 as ME2 is better than ME1, but I trust BioWare fully, they are one of the companies which never fail. So my only wish is, give as much love into ME3 as you did in ME2, BioWare, and the world will surely be statisfied up to infinity.

Hold on.. one thing :P.

The romances... they just happen as unimportant as any normal conversation.. you sleep and fall in love with Miranda, and her death will look the same like when she means nothing to you. Probably the romances could affect the actual game a bit more than they do now.. probably.

It'd be nice if we could switch classes on the normandy somehow if only because i got a collector rifle, and this shotgun coming later today, and i can't friggin use either one because my class o' choice is infiltrator...

It'd be great if we could toggle classes if only so I could try out other fighting styles and weapon types without having to make a new character and get a few hours into the game first.

although the raddest thing ever would be being able to use every single skill and weapon on a single one man army super shepard (with 3 different cooldowns for fighting abilities, bioticabilities, and tech abilities....a man can dream...)

What I'd really love to see though is "more" battles, in the sense that things are stacked. being able to say, bring 4 or 6 or all party members on certain missions and issues complex strings of commands and orders would be the raddest. although doing it on anything but the pc version would probably be an ass and a half.

This is a great idea for a thread.  Alright let me see.  My ME3 Wish List.....

1.  I guess the first thing I want, or rather the main thing I want is Garrus, Tali and Thane as squad mates in ME3.  Thane is just way too cool to lose and his problem should be fixed.  And Garrus and Tali are the only ones who has had my Shepard's back the whole time so far.  They absolutely have to stay.  :D

2.  Romance/Love Interest continuity from ME1 and ME2 to carry over to ME3.  I know it is definitely looking like the LI from ME1 will be carried over, but I think this should include the LI from ME2 also for those of us who like the LIs in ME2 more than in ME1.

3.  Something must be done about the weapons.  I enjoyed the way the armor was done, and doing something similar with the weapons would be cool.  But really I was bummed out to only get to pick between two shot guns or two pistols.  I don't think I ever changed my guns around.  Also the upgrades for the weapons went unnoticed for me.  I did like the way you put the upgrade on the weapon in ME1, I knew what my weapon was doing at that point.  Perhaps either more customization of the weapons or just more weapons to choose from.  I did like how before each mission you got to choose what weapon you took.  This took care of not having an inventory and I would like to see this stay in ME3. :bandit:

And that is about if.  Oh......maybe refine the whole scanning the planet for resources thing...good idea but it needs a little work.  Make it less tedious.

Everything or anything else I can definitely live with.  These are my dema....requests.  :innocent:

Let me start by saying: Thank you Bioware for making great games that lets us get dragged into huge, great and awsome worlds. But i have a few things that I think would really upgrade Mass Effect and Dragon Age both.

:alien:1) PLEASE don't make corpses disappear. it doesn't give the right feeling when you kill someone and their corpse turns into glowing dust or a pile of bones. I remember Baldur's Gate for example, where corpses lay there even if you re-entered an area. Of course if you clear out a place and for example new inhabitants move in corpses shouldn't still be there but you get the idea. I feel fewer and fewer games have corpses after kills. Is it because of RAM? Fallout 3 had corpses laying there over the entire game.

:alien:2) More items, weapons and armors! there are so few cool and rare items and weapons. I like it when there are some extremely hard to find or extremely rare items that you really have to work to get. Don't make everything easy to find, just laying around the main door you have to go through to continue the quest. Both games seem to favor the casual gamers instead of the fans who actually want to work hard for cool rare items.

:alien:3) Make combats less predictable. Mass Effect 2 had the Gear of War 2 "chest high wall" problem. You always know when enemies are coming because the level have items to stand behind everywhere. And they come in waves with about the same numbers no matter what quest you are on. Maybe make a level with like LOADS of enemies that have very low HP and you really have to go ape**** to get out of it.

:alien:4) Make some extremely hard encounters that isn't for everyone. For example in Neverwinter Nights there were always a few optional bosses that were way too hard. But after a million tries you made it. And the reward was worth it. Why not make this for Dragon Age? would fit in my opinion.

I
don't have time to write more at the moment, and I feel that the most important is here. Anyway I hope the ending for Mass Effect 3 is truly EPIC and gives us the chill we all hope for! Take care

My entry to the wishlist would be:

More dialogues. Between squadmates on Normandy (a-la KOTOR2), between squadmates on planets/missions, with squadmates your Shepard don't romance (meaning they don't suddenly loose their tongue when you decline them), to get them to be your BFF, or to make them hate you with passion if you choose so.

Then. Weapon system can stay like this, with some significantly different guns, and I-X tiers being replaced by "+10% dmg" upgrades, but the option to customise guns with removable parts should come back. Having them give bonuses as well as disadvantages would make for a balanced system.

Same goes for Armour system. Current customisation is nice, but the ability to enhance your armour in some way without changing how it looks would also be good.

I just finished Mass Effect 2. In all my years of gaming (since I picked up a Sega Master System 20 years ago) it is probably the best 40 hours I have ever spent at a console. I didnt think ME2 could be better than KOTOR, NWN, Baldurs Gate, or ME, but it did.
Thank you Bioware.
With that bit of fan worship out of the way, there are a few things I would love to see for ME3:
1) A continuation and culmination of our previous romantic relationships. The standard Bioware format is to have a relationship with a character build up between missions, before a "culmination" prior to the final mission, which isnt then referenced again in the end-game credits.
To do this again wth someone else, after romancing Liari and now XXXX, would just be wrong. I'm trying to be a paragon here!
By all means have the option for new relationships - there will have to be I suppose, for new players. But please please please let us continue our established relationships, not have to go back to the beginning and start all over. Our decisions in previous games would then really mean something.
After all, there are plenty of things we could do with established relationships that we couldnt do with new flings - kids, weddings, meeting the in-laws, rivals, jealousy, etc. Why cut all that out! Why not have specific love interest quests we would have to unlock?
2) More non-combat quests. Shooting is fun and all, but its still great to have a change of pace. I know there are some negotiations, and fetch quests, and I think we could do more of them.
3) More party banter, and more topics to discuss with them.
4) The ability to dance with teammates again. Hll, in ME2, I thought it would have been brilliant for the whole team to have the ability to go to the bars and have a celbratory "we won" binge. Why not a conga line even, I would pay to see that :))
5) Romances to effect game more. For example, if I romance someone then visit their home, people could comment on it. As it stands, there is some very limited feedback, but nothing that substantial. As it stands, if you romance someone, you get some minor extra text and the ability to invite them to the cabin. It would be great to have more of that.
6) More options to customise looks, armor, the ship, my cabin etc. ME2 is a great start, doesnt need anything new, just a few more options.
7) Proper endings for everyone. Tell us what happens, show us what impact our decisions made, large and small. Dont leave us hanging. And dont have a short ending. It will have been a long trilogy I will have waited ages for, I want a Lord of the Rings style slow-end, I want to savour it, not left saying "is that it".
Thanks

Adding my wee input too!

Keep the levels the same as ME2.
I actually really enjoyed the level of difficulty and I LIKE that everything levels with you and you never become a god with guns. That's an old fantasy RPG thing that is just not realistic.

Don't bring back the old inventory.
I like the severe lack of inventory, Shepard doesn't have a bag, they keep everything on the Normady or in very small pockets. However more armor pieces would be nice, more diverse weapons to buy and more casual clothing options!

Upgradeable weapons/armor (The NEW fasioned way)
Give us content! Perhaps a new sniper rifle barrel, or a different scope/zoom distance. Magazine size/Ammo
size. ETC. Something that really can make our weapons UNIQUE! Everyone can have the highest upgrade, but with this method of customization there's many more ways to enjoy killing the reapers
!

Okay so I agree with this, a crafting system like in KOTOR or Fallout 3 would also be cool.

Where did the vehicle go!? Please. . . Give it back!!
Agree with this too, the driving is a lot of fun, though I didn't like driving on deap planets I loved driving on Virmire and Noveria.

Please, Make the citadel larger.
Definitaly need to bring back the old places as well as the new ones!! Content, content! Hope ME3 is all about the content.

While doing missions, make them less linear.
Hard to get lost during a mission, it always felt like a hallway leading
with doors to the objective. DON'T get me wrong, I don't feel as if the
game is linear, but 80% of the mission are. There's usually only one
way to go, one way to complete it, and one way in/out. Open it up! we
want to explore!

That would be great! Agree with this too.

More Normandy fights!
In ME2 we don't really use the upgrades for anything at all. We spend
thousands and thousands on mats upgrading our ship. . . and for what? A
quick dodge at the end of the game? I wanted to really see how the
upgrades worked, all I seen was it go through some debree. Some
dogfighting would be great.

This would be neat as well, have the upgrades mean something more.

Give us Earth!
Absolutely!!

Almost forgot!!

Alenko/Williams and Liara as MAJOR squad mates.
We already know these guys are important, however I hope their roles have an impact on the story and there's a lot of screen time with these guys considering we didn't get too much of them at all in ME2.

1. Choices (even the smaller ones) should carry more weight, for examble: "you found cache of weapons from a pirate ship you intercepted and decided to sell those weapons for batarians" later on in the game those same batarians would raid a colony with those weapons

2. atleast 10 squad mates and some your squad mates WILL DIE in the mid game, depending on the choices you make troughout the game

3. Resources for upgrade research should be found on missions / bought from somekind of seller instead of farming planets with a boring minigame

4. Upgrades on your ship should have more meaning in the game, this could be pritty simple to make by just being able to and higher chances to succeed on intercepting random merc/pirate ships

5. The "inventory" system in ME2 was good, I really liked the way they made it BUT instead of just having good, better and best weapon ingame there should be more like 20 weapons of each class (for examble: 20 diffrent kind of shotguns) and ofc more armor pieces

6. Upgrades, I really would love to see samekind of upgrading system like in KOTOR 2, where you would install many diffrent kind of parts instead of just one part wich would increase your damage against robots by 15% or make your weapon shoot lazers...

7. and for the last I would like to have some lousy pistol wich would use the overheat system instead of ammo and every class would have it, would be nice to have atleast something small when you run out of ammo / shepard using it in cutscenes, I was abit disapointed when my vanguard shepard was running around with assault rifle in his hands...

(oh and dismemberment and more blood would be nice <_< )

1. A clear overview of your current weapon and armor upgrades.
Either the way it was done in ME1 (with the stat bars), or in another way that will instantly show what you have upgraded and how far.
The way it is handled now I'm never really sure what characters have the better upgrades, comparatively. In all honesty, when getting further into ME2, I have difficulty figuring out what weapons, biotics, etc., got upgraded at all and how far.

2. The e-mail system.
I like to see something that shows the unread mail in bold lettering or something.
The way it is now, I've got a whole bunch of e-mails (since I only archive after finishing related missions) and no way of telling which are the latest additions. It's a mess.

3. Conflicting team members.
Perhaps have certain characters that don't function well with others in the team?
Either they don't want to get on missions with this particular character, or get a hefty penalty to their performance (low morale) when they do.
On the flipside you could have team members that get a bonus to their performance for going on a mission with someone they particularly like.
Characters will need, at least, one unique ability for this to be interesting however.

4. Larger clips, or ammo should do more damage.
That, or back to unlimited with cooldown. I just don't find it particularly fun to run out of ammo and clips during a boss fight. I also don't find it realistic to use two or more whole clips for a single target. If we're supposed to be fighting such tough critters a pea shooter won't do.

This is sort of my own weirdness, but a cutscene where our Shepard has a scene where s/he actually cries. I think the "cool under pressure" deal can only last so long, and it'd be nice to see Shepard have that utterly human moment of weakness.

My 1 wish: Improve facial animation on Miranda Lawson.

It just seems that no matter what the situation, her face is frozen in that half-smile. I never see any anger, any sorrow, any joy. It's just that constant face.

the linearization is one of the things i really really liked in ME2.
it allowed the player the freedom to choose what part of the story to go through.
This also allowed for the Bioware guys to set the tempo for each level.
so while most side quests felt like you were being guided, there was far more story action going on, of which the player could take either way.

Makes it easier on the Bioware developers, and allows the player to have full control in telling the story the way they see fit, and Bioware to tell a stronger story. only people who lose are people who want every level to be this big open ended deal.

Total agreement with NeoGuardian here.

I think the topic creator is just resistant to change. ME2 is about change. A lot of people don't want it, some have to be dragged kicking andd screaming into it...but all of this change if for the better.

The inventory system: Don't want it. Sure, RPG'ers like myself love looting...but I prefer a good story and some great dialog. Fiddling around with my inventory and reducing junk to omni-gel for 3 hours isn't my idea of fun. ME1's inventory got really cumbersome REALLY quickly, and I like it better now that all of my equipment gathering is done at the research panel in Mordin's lab. It's faster, simpler, and keeps the downtime to a minimum. I can go on a mission, get back, feed my fish, talk to my love interest and then hit the research panel next to Mordin...then 30 seconds later I'm taking the shuttle down to an anomaly. Done and done. I like it that way.

About the vehicle (mako): No. That was one of the worst parts of ME1. Horrible controls, very long and boring rides...I don't miss it. It killed the flow of the game, got in the way of questing and story telling. Felt like a bad Halo clone. No way. Let's hope the new hovertank coming in the DLC isn't as bad.

Bigger, less linear areas: No. the smaller, linear areas allow for betetr scripted fights, making things quicker, faster, and controlling the flow of the game. You get to the "story parts" of each area more quickly than ME1, which helps keep the game at a better pace. You spend too much time aimlessly wandering and you eventually get bored and leave. I know I do.

The "thing" about experience levels: No. I like how they've put more importance on tactical combat skills and equipment research. It keeps the playing field level and doesn't crush you. If you want challenge, do what I do and play Dragon Age on Hard. Or play Wizardry 8 on *any* difficulty level. ME2 is about the story, not about how insane your kill count is.

I do agree with you about the Normandy fights though. Getting a chance to dogfight with enemy ships would make my day!!!!

I want more missions where you can use all your squadmates (like the final of ME2), you know like choosing a second squad leader, a specialist, etc. I always thought that having 3 guys to resolve a mission seems dumb if you have a full squad of badasses characters.

For the e-mails after u read them you have a choice to mark them as read and they get moved away from the unread ones....
