In ME2 I also missed:

- buyable weapons in stores
- statscreen for weapons (damage, accuracy, etc)
- squadmate outfits with different stats (also include actual squadmate armor again in ME3!)

Make the Mission Complete screen optional - put it somewhere in the journal section.
Oh and elevators > too much loading screens (+ the conversations in there were nice)

Not to get off topic, but why are so many people obsessed with the sex scenes? Here, google PORN, and leave us alone!

Does your google PORN have a granade launcher? I thought so...now, beat it.

Obviously, you aren't googling porn correctly if you're not getting a grenade launcher. B)

Party Dialog and options.

Mass Effect 1 and 2 have both done it well, I hope that ME3 really raises the bar, be it love interest or other, more dialog with your team members and better reference from them in regards to current mission/events. I feel weird attacking a Geth base, and Legion doesn't have anything to say after we get back to the ship, (save his usual "reaching a concensus") or inviting Maranda up to my Cabin, and she doesn't say anything.. even something simple like a "That Last mission was hell" or "It's good to have some downtime".. Record a dozen or so one lines like this, and have it randomly spit one out... doesn't take much and adds a real immersion factor.

the ork spores of Warhammer 40k appear in the mass effect universe due to a dimensional hole, the greenskins end up trying to kill anything and everything in sight. (im kidding)

in seriousness though, Kal'Reeger and Shiala (while staying green) as party members, as well as all surviving party members from ME 1 and 2.

More life around the major settlements/bases. Places like Omega looked fantastic in ME2, but it felt a bit funny walking around it since it was mainly filled with motionless mannequins. I know this has benefits, like helping the player always know where to find certain NPCs, but it gives a bit of a cardboard-cutout feel to a game that has otherwise fantastic production values.

Other RPG games feel more 'realistically populated', including some with substantially smaller budgets (eg. The Witcher), so I'm sure Mass Effect 3 could handle it.

Actual combat armor with removable helmets for the whole team. This is going to be a war, after all, not a beauty contest. Don't mind if the armor looks cool, though--pink and white colors do not qualify as combat gear, as much as I like Ash.

Modular weapon customization. I'd like to be able to change color, add and remove parts of weapons in addition to simple increase damage upgrades etc. For example, add stock upgrades for the weapon for better accuracy, add/remove laser pointer, upgradable scopes for the sniper rifles, stability upgrades, etc. All in all, an upgrade system for weapons similar to the one that there already is for Shep's armor in ME2 with parts that you can obtain.

More replay value. I'm one of those people who loves to play a game until it gets boring, and I must say that ME1 offered more than ME2 in that respect. The biggest letdown in ME2 for me was that playing the game several times did not allow you to grab another special weapon, i.e. when you got the Widow, you couldn't get the Revenant anymore.

Non-combat parts in main-plot missions. I thought the main-plot missions in ME1 were great. There were parts where you didn't have to fight but where there was actually some RPG. Think of Noveria and Feros. I'd like to see more of that in ME3.

More actual combat operations rather than one squad blasting its way through hordes of enemies. The mission to Virmire and the attacks on the Citadel and the Collector base were some of the jewels in the series so far. You had the feeling of participating in something bigger than your small squad. There was something going on.

Correct military procedure. I know this was discussed in another thread at length, but I'm just going to add it to my list because every time I see the crewman guarding Legion salute with his left hand makes me wince.

Last but not least, at one point in the game I want to see a dreadnough in full action. The space battle of the Citadel in ME1 was one of the greatest things I've ever seen in a game. The Normandy attacking the Collcetor base in ME2 was high quality and enjoyable, but nothing in comparison to the Citadel battle in terms of dimension. Let space burn! Posted Image

Other than that I have complete faith that ME3 will be a worthy conclusion to the series. Posted Image

I would realy like to see a coop-mode in a mass effect game.

That would be the ultimate mass effect experience which you could enjoy with up to 2 friends.

I think it would be a logical step to involve such a feature since you already play as a squad in the game.

with the option that one of the player takes a leader position even the question of who is handleing the dialogues would be solved.

what i would like is companions that don't climb up onto crates into the line of fire and get killed.

most of the time when my companions die it's because of poor Ai, nothing to do with the orders i'm giving them.

after a while it gets to seem like the med-kit / unity skill is there purely to make up for it.

i say less space spent on the damn dialogue (how many times does shephard have to state the glaringly obvious before someone yells at him to step down and let someone else do the talking), and more on the Ai.

The first thing that i would like to see changed in mass effect is the gear, in the first one there were too many weapons and armors that practically had the same parameters and on the other hand in the second game there were not enough weapons nor armors.

There should be the ability to buy new weapons not just get them during a mission and as you upgrade them it would be nice if their appearance changed as well. Another issue with weapons is their accessibility. Why is it necessary do be a soldier in order to use an assault rifle, i think at the beginning of the game the player should choose what weapons would they wield (they can't choose all of them of course).

The armor issue is quite simple for mass effect 2, there is just not enough of it and another thing would be it's appearance, for example, the off hand ammo pack looks exactly the same as the N7 gauntlets but they give different bonuses, so how come a simple pack which is supposed to be simply attached to the armor strips away the other bonus, which logically is part of the armor construction, so i've been thinking, why not add armor stores to the game where you could find harnesses, arm packs, leg packs, armor boots, greaves, torso armor, shoulder plate, arm plates, gloves, and finally helmets. This way, even if the bonuses are small with such a variety they would actually make sense.

The other thing i'd like to see in mass effect 3 is a changed way to create you're character. The classes the game has to offer are good, but it is quite hard to pick the one that appeals to you because they are not really balanced. The first thing a player should choose is their specialization (biotic, tech, combat or a mix) but this would only determine the special powers they get and the passive class power. The next step would be choosing the characters biotic/tech powers, ammo training and weapons training (one more thing with weapons, the character looks really bulky and too encumbered with a full set of weapons), this choices should be made on the same screen with a number of possibilities, in case someone would still want to have all the weapons, or all the biotic powers etc.

This are the main things i'd like to see changed, and i think some other people would also find them interesting. There are some other issues regarding biotic/tech effects on enemies but i'll leave this for another post. Please comment on what you think about the changes i offered.

To be honest, my only major problem with ME2 was the main hub planets. They weren't bad but they weren't very diverse in their appearance. The city in an asteroid concept for Omega was quite interesting but the areas you explored could have easily have just been a scummy district of Illium. They were all essentially leveled platforms on massive futuristic towers aside from the krogan planet (I forget the name) but even that was very small and not particularly interesting to explore.

Kotor was a lot better for this. I'm aware that mass effect presents a much more realistic sci-fi setting but I liked the fact that one minute you were exploring the desert outside Tatooine and the next you were wandering around a tree-top settlement on Kashyyyk. I don't think those exact sorts of environments would be suited to Mass Effect but they're just examples. Underwater cities, maybe some rural areas, cities that aren't as technologically advanced as others etc. Just a bit more variation and imagination.

Perhaps more in-depth side missions within the cities as well to make exploration of the planets seem a bit more interesting.

I do agree in dialogue Shepard should not need to state the obvious like the one line in Omega, " So, You're saying we can't go in?" When the guy yelling at the girl says, " No humans can go to the slums!" There are other dialogue sequences but I really can't think of them off hand.

No offense but I don't think they'll reference Chili in anyway I doubt they'll even mention the US they'll probably not say anything about governments or specific regions only here you are on earth heres the space port, ect.

I know in a galaxy where hyper volocity rounds totaly demolished the use of swords and katanas. But Thane gave me hope while still using hand to hand combat in ME2. Please find a way to add hand to hand combat as an option in ME 3. Imagine doing takedown moves while using biotics and weponry we expect in the ME universe. Eliminating an enemy before he or she or it alerts the others because your shepeard already silenced him quietly without a trace but also lethaly. Kasumi and Thane would be totally amped up but I think this would also add more to the options we have to take out enemies in the game. I'd be over joyed if they added this.

That could work with the crouch button if it came back being able to sneak up on enemies would be fun and very Tenchu like ( minus the ninja wear and swords) it would add a new element to the game and would be better then hitting enemies with your elbow or riffle. This suggestion could also link up well w/ another persons idea of being able to have no weapon or put your weapon away and use your biotics or tech abilities solely to defeat enemies.

There are a lot of suggestions I'd like to make, but I'll keep it simple.

If ME3 retains the ability to continue after the game is completed, I would enjoy more "post climax" conversation. After completing ME2 I went back to Anderson, Liara, Wrex and even Aria to say "hey, guess what I discovered, where I've been, and who's butt I thoroughly kicked?" Unfortunately got nothing from any of them. In fact all NPC's replies remained the same 'you've exhausted all the options' repertoire. With this being the last of the trilogy, it would be cool to muse over all that has happened with those who have been along for the various stages of the journey.

All my other suggestions circle around working more of ME1 back into ME2. Buying and selling, a middle ground between ME1 and ME2's loot and inventory... to include the specs, customization and more variety. Lastly, replace the loading screens with the sense of connectivity that ME1 had, with the option to "press X to return to Normandy" if so desired.

ME3 should definitely incorporate more hub planets as locations. It would be nice if part of the missions for ME3 involved heading to the home worlds of the asari, the turians, the salaries and others and convincing them to join your side in the fight against the reapers. And make the decisions and actions you have made influence their decision. For example if you were a human centric **** both games make it So that the other species don't join you. And incorporate all the figures we have encountered with those species governments and militaries in these missions. ME3 should also include all of your past squad mates, even if it's just in a role as a representative of their species in your assembled military force. Also definitely be nice to actually see your ship actually involved in some space battle. I would really enjoy being able to command my ship in a battle against pirates or slavers or something. Finally the final battle should be a fleet action that you plan out and in which you take a role as admiral. Even if that's not in this game there should be another released that either let's you command fleets during a war or let's you captain a ship during a war and let's you upgrade it, msn it with you own pick of officers, etc.

ME3 should be epic and massive if you ask me but i feel as though its going to be "Go around and gather a army to defeat the blight" sorta story. Anyway...I would love for more armor customization and weapon customization as stated before, being able to modify weapons and such would be awesome and add to the RPG element if you ask me. I also enjoyed being able to use all the weapons in ME1 except certain weapons sucked for certain classes, or at the very least let us choose a sort of weapon load out where we can have 1 Heavy weap, 2 two handed weap, 1 pistol/smg and possible dual wield.

Bring back the armor stats for team mates too, i always felt like my squad mates were vulnerable or lacking because all i could do was give them a weapon and upgrade their abilities, bring back the armor!

Oh God, where to begin . . .

#1. classic RPG Style Equipment
While it was clunky and aggravating and sometimes time consuming, I liked the equipment system in ME1, where I could could kit out my team with specialized weapons and armor for taking on specific threats (facing rachni? break out the toxin seals!  Geth? where're my tungsten rounds?).  It felt much more like I was involved in the game beyond carting my avatar to the next gunfight.  In ME2, the inventory practically manages itself, Final Fantasy style.  The only reason for those lockers in two places every level is to change out which Heavy Weapon you need (M77 > Firestorm for the final challenge of Archangel's recruitment).

#2. Bigger Normandy
I know this probably seems like an obnoxious and petty complaint, but I don't really feel like the Normandy is a vessel that people live and work on.  ME2 did this better, with additional decks and things like bathrooms, but I still don't feel like the Normandy is all there.  After all, no one but Shepherd, Thane, Miranda, Jack, and Grunt had anywhere to sleep.

#3. More involved characters
In ME1 and 2, it really feels like the characters are just standing at their posts, waiting for Shepherd to turn up and talk to them.  While I could personally care less about what the hell Cpt.  Gavorn is up to on Omega, I would like to see crew members moving about the ship a little more.  I'd like to go talk to Grunt once and see Yeoman Chambers just leaving his quarters after hearing his complaints about, I don't know, that it's too cold in his cargo bay.  If I show up at 15:00, I'd find Jacob on the firing range, because he practices marksmanship at that time.  Also, I would like to see characters other than Jack/Miranda and Garrus/Tali interact with each other.  I don't mean on missions, where there'd have to be like 40,000 different possible dialogue combinations, I mean like on the ship.  Like a scene where Tali needs to fix something in a precarious position on the NRS2 and if this scene happens before you melt some of Jack's icy exterior, Jack will laugh when Tali ass-plants from four meters up, but after you've done Jack's loyalty mission, Jack will catch Tali with a biotic field and set her down gently.  If femShep is pursuing a romance with both Garrus and Thane, why can't they get catty when they're practicing their sniping skills on said firing range?

#4. More gun complaints.
Seriously, ammo powers are dumb.  Really, really dumb.  If it's a switch on the gun any Gomer can flick, why do I need to put points in the skill?  Also,  thermal clips are dumb.  They are LESS effective than heat sink tech, and it snaps the game's immersion in half when clips appear spontaneously when your inventory is low (or you do Jacob's Loyalty mission).  Go back to heat sink tech please.

#5. Collector party member
So long as I'm being completely self-indulgent, I'd like a Collector party member in much the same way Legion joins the crew in 2.

Well, collectors are Protheans. And there are lots of dead Protheans on Ilos. Why can't Cerberus resurect one as he did to Shepard just to see what happens? Maybe it will profit somehow? They were more advanced technologicaly (nearly discoverd mass rellays) and they can help uncover the Collectors' Base secrets (if you haven't destroyed it).

As dor Legion I leave ot without coment. :/

Grunt for LI aswell!

Anyway, if i have one thing i want added or just modified for ME3, is the ability to play as a mix of paragon and renegade, without having to worry about needing to be such a high paragon or renegade inorder to keep teammates alive. Thats honestly how i lost like 3 characters because i didn't have high enough Para/Rene for the option to keep both. That annoyed me to no end.

i'd like some more sarcastic and aloof dialogue responses,
i'm reminded of one of the Baldur's Gate games when the redhead girl asks to join the party, one of the answers is "Not a chance in all the nine hells."
similarly in Dragon Age with Leliana - "I'm going to say this slowly. You. Not coming."
i'd like more of that kind of thing throughout the game,
i finished the overlord dlc yesterday and i got two responses at the end, both of which involved me caring about what was happening, which i didn't.
i'm a killer, okay? i'm in it for the slaughter and the armour and the travel, and i'm sure i'm not the only one, maybe we're a minority, but please recognize our right to be complete bastards. thankyou
