My only real suggestion past some of the other stuff said here is in relation to weapons. These changes would fix a lot of the weird (or go along way to fixing) the cut-scene issues people have with random gun use by Party members and Shep. But simply bring back all classes having access to all 4 weapon slots but make it so each of the 3 slots have 3 Tiers to them. Currently, if you think about it, Assault Rifle (Primary), Shotgun and Sniper Rifle have 2 Tiers to them. The Machine Pistol and the SMG (there both not SMG's, seriusly) take up the Pistol Slot...which means the pistol isn't visible on Sheps who have that (all but the soldier) which is a bit odd. Anyways heres the idea for its layout.

Primary
-Tier 1-
Tempest SMG (rreplace the funky metal front-clip with a forearm grip like the Locust, animation to hold it)
Locust (Make use of that front-grip thing with a better grip animation, holding it like a pistol is silly)
-Tier 2-
Assoult Rifle
Battle Rifle
-Tier 3-
LMG

Sniper
-Tier 1-
Mattock Heavy Rifle (with 1.5x zoom if you click thumb-stick while left trigger down)
-Tier 2-
Mantis Rifle (x2 initial zoom, x4 thumb stick click like in ME1)
Viper Rifle (x2 initial zoom, x4 thumb stick click like in ME1)
-Tier 3-
Anti-Material (x2 and x4 as above)

Shotguns
-Tier 1-
Eviscerator Shotgun (3 shots, slow rate of fire)
-Tier 2-
Katana Shotgun (5 shots, slow rate of fire)
Scimitar Shotgun (8 shots, semi-auto rate)
-Tier 3-
Claymore (single, or 2 shots but massive dmg)

Pistols
-Tier 1-
Predator Heavy Pistol
Shuriken Machine Pistol (all 3 shots should do about 20% more dmg combined then the Pred HP)
-Tier 2-
Carnifax Hand Cannon
M5 Phalanx
-Tier 3-
No idea - something BIG, maybe a 2-3 shot burst Heavy Phalanx like thing - 80% the dmg, per shot, as the Phalanx but it fires in a burst (thats 'not' able to be auto-via tapping trigger a lot).

Now the way I see this working is the Soldier gets Rank 2 in all excepte Pistols. All the other classes get Rank 2 in pistols and Rank 1 in everything else excepte Vanguard and Infiltrator that gets Rank 2 in Shotguns, and Sniper respectively. I would also focus on a more balancing of dmg per rounds in the gun so the overall dmg isn't as... broad a difference (the base AR is horrible dmg).

The 2nd change I could make would be with the heat syncs. I would recommend just having 6 to 10
'reloads' per gun (static number that all have). This would mean reloading 'early' would make some of the shots be missed entirely giving a bit more tactical depth to choosing when to reload. Would make balancing
the guns easier resource management wise.

I think having it as it is now, the big ammo counter kills it a bit for me. The idea is there all using universal heatsyncs so why does the SMG get a 50% (percent, really?) extra ammo upgrade by carrying 'smaller' ones? more so, that means instead of carrying 9 hes now carrying 14 and a HALF...sheps carrying around half a damn sync.. thats silly.

3rd change would be remove the type of upgrades you do now and have you research actual weapon mods like you had in ME1 (they could be research upgraded) but allowing players to customize there weapons via 3-4 mods (per gun slot, so it just works for whatever you have selected) would be great. That way they could choose to make there AR fire faster, or have 50% more shots (instead of 50% more 'extra' ammo). Could make slot-specific ones as well. 1 other thing with this would be to make mods, and weapons all BOUGHT from Vendors instead of 'found in only 1 place'. Found in only one place can lead to accidently missing and never being able to get it again. Thats just bad when its base stuff like weapons. Rare 'mods' or accessories? thats another matter, base game function? bad.

4th Change would be to also allow us to color are weapons, I know this isn't to important but I would like to be able to match my guns with my outfit. Just a primary/secondary color thing - you could have presets per-outfit for the squad members. Would be a nice touch since in ME2 all the guns have wide variaty of colors, I'd often match up my squad with guns they don't use color wise. Its like yall said before ME2 was out when you where trying to get the idea of across as to there being only '1 assoult rifle'.

"This is my rifle. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My rifle is my best friend. It is my life."

So yeah I'd like to dress up my best bud in some matching colors and mod it out so its truely unique amungst all the other rifles out there. This would still mean that there's only 1 Assault Rifle, but would remove the more.. 'adventure game' upgrade BS with more RP oriented customization.

I want more life on Normandy. Its just so boring, there is so few people aboard. I could count them on my fingers. And also what would be even more fantastic is if people were walking around the ship,

And you gotta do something about the citadel, I mean even shopping center is bigger.

Next thing is character customisation. It wouldn't hurt if we had more hair choice and more armor.

I think a humor option would be nice or an FU response every now and then. Most times on the convo wheel you get Para, Neutral, or Ren on the right side and the left is blank if the developers think curtain situations could call for humor or agitation they could place these two options on the left side. I would love to deal with the councils in an aggressive non reg way or joke to them instead of using the para, ren options on the right this way I have a 4 and 5th option to play up the scene more these agg or joke options would not count on the para, ren scale but would be nice add in.

Also when you want to end a conversation maybe " I should go" option should only be used in odd language scenes like Mordin if you get him to sing that would be odd in life to have someone just start out singing so then he/she could say , " I should go" sense the player would most likely also be like wtf? But in scenarios where you're just talking casually and want to leave just say, " Nice talking to you" or " Bye" something more leaving lines would be good.

i hope me3 will have more cod-like gameplay.... like air-strikes, bomb detonation...., sneaky sniping and stuff close to it.... me2 didn't really have much of those... its more like enter shoot and kill... they come we shoot.... not much of a variety there....[even with those frequent powers] , put sheppard on a sentry gun and let him shoot!
adding more creative combat and style really revs up the game to a new level! maybe add more melee punching or slicing.... the current melee attack can even shove an undead!

next, please turn the destruction bigger! make more boom boom pow and stuff.....IMO  the explosions are not loud and big enough.....

as for the dialogs.... they're great.... but do make more during combats like 'look out! [kaboom!]' or 'we're sitting ducks in here![ ratatatatatat... kaboom boom] hellp!! ugh...' it puts more adrenaline through our system....

the open world system in me is very creative and unique but the environments in each planet are very 'themed' i can't see a lot of variety in the planets.... including the buildings' insides... they're more or less from the same say artist.... maybe add a few different artists and let their creativity go wild...! adapt some ideas from star wars or avatar.... something new like the hallelujah mountains will definitely bring more new players...

bring in those super large enemies! the largest enemies we commonly fight are just fenrir/ymir mechs.... those are like 4 times bigger than shepard?? seriously get some feakishly big like the geth collosus and the final boss... give them more attacks! like lunging cargos and tanks at shepard or more aggressive characteristics like wall climbing... surprise attacks and stuff.......

have some more environment effects like thunder, tornados and lightnings throughout the game... i see very rare sightings of water....

since the next mass effect would mean war with the reapers... make some scenes with shepard fighting in a battlefield[like a seriously BIG attack on the citadel with tens of reaper ships floating above and shepard fighting through thousands of reapers]

add some horror to the story... something the overlord dlc with the overlord screaming out of a sudden really catch us some good shocks...

some changes in the gui hud would be great. like the environment its very themed red... i'm not saying its bad but it just cant turn us on... it seemed dull and very unenergetic... something neon green or blue would be nice...

and i've got some suggestions for some class-specific missions like for soldier-class, sheppard will have to dodge bullets and flying objects, infiltrator shepards meanwhile have to sneak in a ship to plant a bomb and detonate it without being noticed.... and so on!

i really do hope you guys pick up some new ideas over here and would apply them to the next mass effect... i enjoyed most of me2.... and do forgive me for my bad english and language....

SPACE COMBAT!

Overall I'd want ME3 to be the best of ME and ME2 in one game - keep the combat system as it is, but bring back some of the customization options from the first game.

But the one thing that I really would to love to add to the Mass Effect formula is space combat. I just saw some scenes from The Old Republic's space fights and the idea of having something similar in ME3 blew me away. Just imagine: right before your final confrontation with the reapers, you have to navigate the Normandy through an armada of spaceships that all try to keep you from reaching the earth or the Citadel or whatever destination you're trying to reach.

In my opinion, that would really give you an idea of the scale of the conflict that you're a part of - plus it would finally give some visible meaning to the upgrades that you bought for the Normandy.

So come on guys - if you can get space combat right for The Old Republic, let me have it in ME3 as well! No science fiction story is complete without it!

1) Mako, but in a situation that highlights its advantages as opposed to disadvantages (Virmire, Ilos and Bring Down the Sky come to mind)

2a) Ashley to have the Systems Alliance logo as a lower back tattoo

2b) Me to be able to see said tattoo... ;D

3) no platforming (ie. if Hammerhead comes back, needs extensive gameplay redesign. IMHO is a colossal step back on the Mako, which wasn't that great due to level design that drew attention to its deficits.)

4) A bit more variation in guns with the game shipping - it's pretty good, now, but needed 3 DLC shotguns to actually start clicking

5) Middle ground between the two systems. While I appreciate the current gear system for its attempt to throw out some RPG gear tropes (since you're on a mission for a well-funded black ops unit, they mostly give you the gear instead of having you shop for it or kill people and take the guns from them), the upgrade system seems a bit overly streamlined. The fact that the upgrades have cool in-universe naming etc kind of takes a step back when all they do is give != 5 bonuses... or they just aren't highlighted enough.

6) Yeah, space combat would be neat.

7) As many as possible ME1 and ME2 squadmates (personal bias calls for Wrex, Ashley and Miranda, but can see others having fans, too) coming back in a playable format. Again, I can appreciate that certain in-game events might make this unviable for the whole game, but, for some fan favourites, it would IMHO still be warranted, and getting somebody to join the team for even one mission (especially if its the final one) is still better than just saying 'hi' to them in their throne room/office/generator lot.

Here is one I noticed while on my new playthrough....

During in game cut scenes, how about not having characters pull weapons out of their arse.

As in, if I have a character proficient in pistols, and he/she is equiped with a Carnifax (sp?), that the character does not magically pull out a random pistol or machine pistol they are not currently equiped with and hold it to someones head or what have you.  Some scenes accuratly reflect what weapon you have equiped/proficient in, some do not.  Seems totally random.

Thats bugged me since ME1.  Thankfully in ME2, there are no cut scenes where my adept PC and Kieden pull out rifles they are not proficient with and the battle starts with the characters using the non proficient weapons-that was infuriating.:pinched:

Edit: Oh yeah, and have squad member weapon powers as a save game variable, so that you don't have to re apply them after loading a game.  Even better-have them extend between missions.

I notice something in TOR issue of PC Gamer. The space combat in the game is done by the Edmonton studio. I have a feeling how successful TOR space combat is that it will be how space combat is done in ME3.

The Hammerhead seems to be getting a warm reception since Overlord, perhaps now that the big issue of "Baawwww, Mako Controls" are out, we can go back to random, Truly Hostile worlds(Instead of just Garden worlds the size of a small office) to really get that sense of being part of something vastly larger than yourself. I mean, is there any real reason we can't have the fun Mako-like Vehicle combat sections, with some of those immersive voids that prey upon the part of the Human psyche that always has to ask "Why?", and torment us with feelings of hopeless isolation, Sprinkled with some well made combat sections (Such as a small outpost or a tight canyon/ravine) to fight on foot, all within the same, or mostly the same package?

Equipable squad Armor, obviously nothing like Sheperd's custon Armor, but something that looks like it could stand at least 1-2 Mass Accelerator slugs, and be sealed against vaccum and poisonous environments. Somehow I doubt Jack was adequately protected on that Blood Pack Mission in the Chlorine Swamp.

Insanity difficulty that is actually Hard.

Mass Effect 2's Insanity is leaps and bounds above Mass Effect 1's, but I still feel it's too easy. Regenerating defenses would help allieviate the "Pop and shot" method of getting through any /all battles. A smart AI that gets conservative at 50% health as well, forcing the player to actually think about tactics like Flanking, to finish off enemies that have entrenched themselves.

I've been replaying ME1, and I have to agree with you here. Even if it's just purely cosmetic, suspension of disbelief is really helped by squadmates having hardsuits of some kind. Especially if it's not the Sirta Phoenix, AGAIN. ;)

I understand, of course, the concept, where since nobody apart from Grunt has <armor>, they don't, well, physically have armor, either (just shields). Just need something that looks like it gives even rudimentary environmental protection. :)

I want something interesting in ME3 storywise, like say, Shepard is hunted by Cerberus/Citadel or both and has to fix things in time for the Reaper invasion while gathering an army... oh wait... hmm...

What if the start of ME3 took place right at the beginning of the Reaper invasion that would make things tense real quick as the final entry should be...

Some (small, but imo important) things I really miss from ME1 (and can't understand why BW would take them out & really hope to get back in ME3):

- Toggle option for helmets. In ME1 my characters constantly toggle their helmets on and off, depending on location and circumstances. Now I have to do that while still on the Normandy and when I forget to (which happens often) my Shepard feels like an idiot wandering around the Citadel/Ilium/Omega with her helmet on. I also bought the Collectors Edition, because I liked the look of the armor. Now I never wear it, because I'm forced to wear the helmet too.

- Toggle walk option. Yes, I'm one of those weird people who actually like to walk around (expect in certain combat situations). Thankfully walking is still possible in ME2, but why do I have to constantly press a key to do so? Please BW, go easy on our hands and fingers! And talking about walking:

- What happened to the female walking animation in ME2?! BW generally seems to have very good animators, the animations in ME1 & 2 (and DA:O for that matter) look way better than in some other games I've played, the female walking animation in ME1 is very well done and looks really natural.  In ME2 when I watch my female Shepard walk, I can't help but think if the hunchback of Notre Dame would walk like that if he had Vrolik syndrome. Did the Lazarus Project mess up when rebuilding her joints or bones? Please bring back a normal walking animation for female Shepards! (I know you can still do it, female NPC walk just fine in ME2.)

:)
