I agree; I'd really like crouch back.  Jumping would be nice too.

Overall I just want much more open and larger world.  All of ME2 was very calustrophobic even when compared to ME1.  The "social" areas like Ilium and the Citadel were really inferior to what we saw in ME1 and every single combat mission was nothing but a linear tunnel shooter.  I rarely ever felt like the combat was "3D", everything just pops in front of you and it just... egh.

I also feel like there was a loss of the really big and epic firefights like the one in ME1 where you come across a settlement being attacked, have to position your forces, get some guns online, and then just hold off the attackers.

There's nothing like that in ME2.  The combat missions are just linear, repetitive, and generally lackluster in every way.

And it sucked not having the Mako in ME2.  The Hammerhead sucks hard; please give us back the M-35.

These aren't huge, but they're important to me:

1) Appearance tweaking coming before 15 minutes of cutscenes a la Mass Effect 1. I hated that in ME2.

2) More armor pieces and color choices. Black as a pattern color would be nice.

3) Different weapons skins. I like some weapons in ME2, but I hardly use them because they look so out of place (M29 Incisor).

4) Ability to change appearance in-game (plastic surgery, maybe?)

5) More Credits available in-game. It's actually impossible to purchase every upgrade without the DLCs and starting bonuses. It's also difficult in New Game+'s because you'll only be left with about 70,000 credits if you're extremely careful with your money and milked every mission.

7) Purchasable weapons, it kind of sucks that the only way you get new weapons is by completing story missions.

7) I want crouch back, please.

Bring back Admiral Hackett and some of the characters from the novels for a few cameo's throughout the game would be nice.

Flying the Normandy in 3 dimensions and the ability to fire some of the Normandy's weapons at asteroids and enemy ships?

Yeah not a fan of quick time events didn't work well with tomb raider or Shemune I like to enjoy the cut scenes not have to worry about interacting with them. I also found the interrupt prompts annoying I just hit the buttons sense it flashed and it stopped all further conversation the only time I like this interrupt was when I went to rescue Maleon and at the Shaman.

First off I'm not a fan of them either in games like Spiderman3, Tomb Raider and Shenmue. Thing is they usually have lots of different button combinations to press in a row with under 1 second to react. If you fail at any point it's game over

In ME2 I liked the interrupts and expanding it to situations that involve me or my teammates would be logical. As long as they're not actual quit time events with 0.5 second timeframe and complex button combinations to press but still situations I need to react quickly in.

A more fleshed out example: Your squad is running on a small walkway in a collapsing cavern, the walkway shakes and your screen goes slow-mo as you see one teammate starts trembling over the right and the other over the left side. Paragon icons appear to either sides of screen for 3-5 seconds asking you to press RT (Xbox) to save the right one and LT to save the left one. You can also not push either one and just run through

IMO all situations I'm in a rush should have limited time to make decisions. Being able to think for hours who survives on Virmire made the situation a bit bland. I ended up creating the sense of urgency myself

But I know most people don't want this drastic, forced situations. I hope ME3 is full of tough choices and consequenses though

About 1. I wish they also make customizing our custom character possible. If I want to customize my imported character in ME2 I have to start from scratch even if I just want to change hairstyle or somehow damage my face after what happened

And 7. is necessary. Out of cover combat is awful in ME2. Every soldier must know how to crouch

The movie style scenes and script ME1 felt and acting like an epic movie. ME2 was more like a Sci Fi TV show.....I want that epic movie feel back for 3.

Even though I hate Admiral Hackett calling me every other universe I miss his voice. I want him to come back in 3 just not every 5 min.

I like the idea of being able to tweak your characters appearance but not start from scratch when you load in a character. For instance in 2 I wanted to give my Shep shaved hair because being in a hospital and having major surgery would do that to you but when I click customize I loose all the info on her so this little change is not possible. In 3 if you preload a character and choose customize it should not loose your numbers unless you physically choose the face cycles option then you'd loose all your work.

I also think this ability to keep the appearance you preloaded would also work with another suggestion some one made of using the mirror or finding barbers in port locations to change your physical look in game. For instance lets say I preloaded my FShep and could give her a shaved head after a point I want to give her her long hair back I go to her mirror or find a hair stylist and make the change. Its small but adds to the players feel of Emerson

And speaking of hair stylist? Did they all die in the future? Did tailors die too?

Bigger missions with more roleplaying, problems solving, things to learn, difficult decisions and conversations with the bosses.

I.E. more like Noveria in ME1.

And more patterns for the armor, how about the N7 being a pattern?

And a Cerberus style pattern, if i'm endorsing TIM i want to wear the Cerberus insignia, not the Alliance N7.

My wishlist is actually pretty decently sized:

1. Bring back some of my old crew. Seriously, I want Wrex, Ash, and Liara back. I'll gladily give up Samara, Jacob, and Grunt in exchange for those three back.

2. A cleaned up version of the old ME1 inventory system, one that doesn't give me about 50 useless weapons and modifications that all have very similair names, and don't automatically display their stats under their name.

3. I want to either be able to fly the Normandy in combat, or just have the Normandy actually attack something more than once.

4. Bring back the Mako. Maybe they could alter the area where I would drop, so I don't wander around a 3 klick area, searching for some stupid probe that my electronics score isn't high enough to salvage.

5. A more open Citadel. That was something that I missed from the old ME, but being able to see the contrast between the Presidium and the Wards was pretty damn surprising.

6. Make sure that if we stayed loyal to our ME1 romance, it gives us some advantage, becuase I have to admit it would be interesting to see.

7. Be able to have a range of insignia that I can pick from.

8. Be able to bring more of the team down to a planet, but at reduced XP and credit earning for the mission.

9. Be able to prove to the Council that Reapers DO exist, and they're coming.

10. Be able to take control of Cerberus, possibly be deposing TIM.

11. More tough moral decisions.

12. Be able to further customize my cabin, beyond adding fish, a hamster, and model ships.

To me, Mass effect and Mass effect 2 were completely different games. Get a mix between the two and your done, for example

1. More Normandy dog fights

2. A more in-depth skill tree.

3. Possible be able to play as other races.

4. class mixing, I mean, like Thane was a biotic, but also a sniper, and Samara was a biotic and also had an assault rifle. Lets pick our guns and abilities ourselves, within reason, i mean, don't let everyone have all the guns and an all powerfull biotic.

1. A Quest-hub like the Citadel was in ME1 before you leave the citadel for the first time you can easily quest an hour or two and still have a lot of quests in Space. Omega certainly had Potential for that or what has potential in ME3 for that.

2. Transform the survey-able Planet's into Planetscanner ones and bring back the Planets to explore and the updated mako from the PC version where you could zoom and accurately hit you targets plus the mako has a decent shield and a good armor the mako has more Authoritah.

3. A Inventory and loot system the Levelrange to 60 and a full character-development

4. The ability to mod weapons and armor like in ME1 if possible with the research system from ME2
upgrading the Normandy was awesome

5. The "Citadel-Elevators" with the little "loading" logo instead of a screen and squad and crew banter
talking strangers on stations or planets

6. The Normandy doesn't undock every time you enter <_<
I loved the airlock as a transition

7. Keep the FPS mechanic from ME2 it is frakkin awesome but please use the skill system from ME1 the global cool-down from ME2 is :pinched:

8. Please please reduce the amount of loading screen to a minimum like only inside the Normandy:crying:

9. make the mission debriefing a conversation and not a just a static

The ability to choose your XO pick from those crew members with skills for it ie Garrus, Miranda, Jacob, Samara/ Mornith

Also if XO position is switched for example I replace Miranda w/ Garrus then she gets his old position, ect

The ability to customize the inside of Normandy to curtain specs sense it has damage now allow us to up grade med bay and labs w/ more tech, customize entirely Sheps quarters and rearrange furniture placement and if we want to get rid of the models and fish tank and replace w/ something else like TV area or mini bar. The ability to keep or change both Observation decks, and lower decks where Zeed and Grunt live let us make these more luxuries w/ lux items to pick from or go military w/ millit things to pick from or combo the best of both into these spaces.

Put Shepard on Trial have us defend our actions and risk going to jail and having to break out. We also need to defend ourselves and maybe our crew members must find evidence both not just on trial planet but also using the Normandy to go across galaxy to get curtain info that will help the case but if they prioritize wrong then the info they went for is NLA and now it hurts the case.

Still want those random prothean beacons that contain up grades, unique skills/armor, and mini quest.

This should be cool as long as the 'Lost beings of Light' are not some overly-powerful deus ex machina. Hopefully they will be included a a useful tool against the reapers (but not an overpowered tool!).

Also, differently to most people I want to see a fresh new squad in ME3, perhaps with only one or two squaddies from the previous game returning.

-How about some damn steps on the SR-2?

and the ability to actually GO to the cargo bay/deck 5 instead of staring at it through a window.

-More in depth LI stuff, and please. for the love of god. a little bit better choices for females. Thane and Garrus were alright but ones dying and the others always calibrating.

don't get me started on Jacob.

-Oh, and a very long and epic game.

It'll already be epic, but spanning multiple disks is a must

I don't mind multi disks but I don't want to have to keep switching between disks when the same info is on both the easiest way I can explain it would be play disk one ends at major scene put in disk two ends at major scene put in disk 3 end of game.

I agree FShep needs better LI but also dance moves, walking, and talking some phrases are exactly the same as MShep but sound wrong coming from a girl. Right now the dance scene comes to mind when shep wants to impress an asari they say " you wanna dance watch this!" Well the dance works for MShep but FShep should dance good or do another poor style dance instead not the exact same as MShep.

Said this in other thread, but the resources of ME2 could and should play a huge role in how the game plays out. If you drained all planets empty of their resources Cerberus/humanity will have a monopoly with them. You can use them to make Cerberus/humanity superstrong at the expense of other races, sell them for other races or just share them to other races and worlds as you see fit. A war is coming and everyone needs resources and you have a huge impact on who has even the slightest chance to survive.

Or if you didn't probe much then all the races can go gather resources themselves, which takes some time and can cause struggles. You could help them or "steal" their resources also in ME3

Bioware probably didn't create any system that reconizes how many planets are "depleted" and "rich" for ME3, but checking the amount of resources we have in store is almost as good. Even if you upgraded everything you can still have hundreds of thousands of resources left. If you don't have much left chances are you didn't mine that much.

ME1 used different system and had more materials to gather, but maybe they could be implemented in ME3 too. Either in ME3 you can mine the materials ME2 missed from plutonium to helium or the game reconizes how much of them you found in ME1

I've completed most in 50-80 hours

Anyways I'd be fine whether the main story is 30 or 100 hours. As long as there's something to do afterwards like an upgraded pinnacle station (assuming the game won't end after credits)

1) A much wider variety (slightly custom?) of Squad members. I want a member of the STG, salarian commandos for teh win. Maybe let us change the class or appearance of certain squad members?

2) Improve Shepard's run animation

3) No more planet probing.

4) LOAD times - down please! Or bring back elevator rides!

5) Less Vehicle missions for the sake of it...

6) More armor/weapon customisation

Ahaha, I didn't know about this. How cool is that?  Thanks for posting!

I played all my Final Fantasy games for 100-200 hours! Yes, I had lots of free time as a school kid..playing FFVIII with my best friend is my fondest memory.
Given that current games are so short, I'd be satisfied with 60-70 hours. Do graphics really eat up so much of disc space??? Or why is it that games are so short nowadays?! Put ME3 on 4 discs if necessary, I don't care! I'd gladly swtich every two hours if it got me a 70h+ game.
