ME2 didn't feel as big as ME1. I felt you dumbed it down in all aspects. It felt more like I was just playing linear levels instead of being in a living breathing universe.

A bigger inventory of items that are quick to sell/dispose of when you upgrade.

A bigger array of talents more akin to ME1 with a level cap of 50 or 60 allowing more customizable gameplay styles.

Bigger hub planets with more in depth quests and shops. The Citadel in ME2 felt small and lame compared to ME1. I loved the look of Omega and Illium but again they felt more like a part of a linear shooter level than a living breathing city.

The story in the ME3 needs to be epic and tie everything together. I thought ME1's story was the best story ever in a video game. ME2 just seemed like a lot of filler mainly consisting of loyalty missions that had no bearing on the main story.

I dunno overall I just want ME3 to feel like an rpg again instead of the streamlined and linear 3rd person shooter that was ME2.

I wish Jack Wall and his colleagues make a nice atmospheric soundtrack for ME3. Perhaps they should watch less big Hollywood movies in the meantime. :D

I understand that ME2 is more action-oriented, but still...

While I enjoy the fact that Bioware released that 'Atmospheric ME2 music' album five or so days ago, the majority of ME2 music sounds quite Steve Jablonsky-ish and that just doesn't feel right to me. Again, it falls in the sphere of ME1 vs. ME2 polemics.

All I want is better Hair options and Facial hair options for Male Shepard as well as better Hair options for Female Shepards as well. I mean come on Shepard isn't even in the military anymore so bring on better Hair and Facial Hair options.

I came on here, planning to say everything I wanted in ME3, but looking at all the comments, most of you have already said everything I had to say.

@Torhagen... Your list is excellent, everything on there is exactly what I want to see in ME3.

I want it to be more of an RPG...more seamless... none of that "mission accomplished" crap.

Most of these things are minor updates so if most of the fans are asking for it, I really don't see why not.

In the very least, if you dont add any of these things mentioned, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back TRUE planet exploration. I dont care if its copy and paste. I loved riding over a steep mountain to see the sunset of a binary star system, or a huge planet in sky with detailed craters and millions of distant stars.

In the end, no matter how ME3 turns out Im probably going to love it either way. Thanks Bioware for an amazing series!!!

Oh and bring back the original planet view when you zoom in on the galaxy map from ME1.

Yup, take ME 1 & 2, blend until the chunky bits are all gone, voila instant win.

Just a few of the main points;

1) Ammo/Thermal clips : I really don't understand how they came to be, ammo as powers, and thermal clips being necessary in ME. Aside from the obvious continuity issue from ME 1 (codex says you'd never have to reload, the lump of metal you use as ammo yes, but nothing was ever said about thermal clips). Ammo should be part of inventory again, as with weapon mods. We should be allowed to tailor our weapons to suit the needs of the mission, rather than have to spend points to upgrade 'squad ammo' abilities.

2) Tech/Biotic/Skills : I can understand reducing the number of these, but throwing in a global cooldown as well made it a bit more of a chore than it should have been. Perhaps a staggered cooldown, where the ability that was just used has normal cooldown, all unused ones are reset in 1/2 the time.

3) classes : I felt that soldiers were pretty nerfed in ME 2, having a whole host of ammo 'powers' to choose from is all well and good, but you still have to poke your head out from cover to fire, and in some parts there were plenty of enemies to shoot at you. If I'm not going to have arcing abilities, or tech powers, how come I'm just as squishy as the other classes? Soldiers should get more shields, or armour, despite the fact that they have almost all the weapons. Because as I said earlier, you need to get out of cover to shoot, just like anyone else.

3) Environments : Especially hubs, the level of detail put into hubs is lovely, and I understand that the level size had to be sacrificed, but I believe it's been said a few times before, there isn't the same sense of scale and size in ME 2. Sure, the Citadel might have been a lot of empty space, but that did lend an idea of the sheer size of the place to the player. Not being able to walk about the Presidium was slightly disappointing, but hardly an important issue. Hopefully we get a huge hub in ME 3, not unlike the Citadel in ME 1.

4) Vehicles : And to some lesser degree, shields. Shields and armour seem to amount to nothing much in ME 2, the new vehicle having the durability of kevlar-lined cardboard. Just like Shep's shield and armour, 3 - 4 hits put you in the danger zone. A little more endurance surely couldn't hurt, since there are enemies that have 3 layers of protection. And I don't disagree that from a purely vehicular view, the Mako is superior.

5) Conversation : Walking around the Normandy and hearing crew to crew chatter is nice, and gives the place a little more life than the SR - 1, but then suddenly the guys I take along on missions have almost nothing to say to each other, besides certain mission points of interest. Elevator rides! Or throwing most squadmates into the mess hall where they can have food fights and call each other names.

A small note, fuel. Now, another strange feature that was never present in ME 1, fuel just seems like a dirty money sink to me. Didn't ships (the high-tech military ones anyway) just have to discharge every now and then?

There are other points but I think they've already been made. Just lending my voice to the main things I wish to see changed for ME 3. Can't wait for ME 3, but I'm hoping to see most of these changes brought in as well.

There needs to be no break in game play for loading screens, it is better to hide loading time with animations, like the elevator rides and the door scanner, it would be really great if lets say, you walk up the boarding ramp to the Normandy, you go into the airlock, the door closes behind you, the scanner starts, it scans you a few times, the inner door opens, you go onboard, NO apparent loading, it should be the same with landing on a planet, the ship arrives in orbit, you go to the armoury and get your gun and armour, you get on the lift, the lift goes down, you get off in the shuttle bay, you walk up to the shuttle, open the door and get in, the shuttle takes of and flies into the planet, with you sitting in the cockpit, when it arrives at the open map you take control, and choose where you land, you get out and start the mission, once again No apparent loading.

I would just like to quote this in total agreement. If Bioware could eliminate almost all of the visible loading times in the game (with the exception being mass relays) then it would go a LONG way towards keeping the player immersed. Instead of seeing a mission accomplished screen when you completed a level, it would be nice to have the option to either port directly up to the Normandy (loading screen) or go back to your shuttle and watch from the cockpit as it takes off and flies back up.

There should be biodiversity, and more diversity in age, color, race, religion. And I'm talking for everyone, including the aliens, especially them.

I don't know if this has been talked about and I didn't feel like going threw 238 pages to find out. I would really like to have every power be hot keyed. For example you could tap RB/LB and that could bring up an YXBA selection for your powers. That only gives you eight hotkeys. Every power would be two clicks away. As for your A.I. partners, you could tap left or right on the D-Pad and that again could bring up an YXBA selection, giving four hotkeys for the A.I. team mates. That's just something that I would like to see in the next game.

The only thing on my mind is that I'd like for Bioware to fix the import bugs in Mass Effect 1->2. I'm going to be REALLY frustrated if Sirta Foundation shuts down in ME3 because the first game was bugged and the developers refused to patch an older game.

Both ME & ME2 were fantastic, I would like to see a combination of the two, keeping the combat system and FPS elements with more RPG and story driven elements.

Primary campaign needs to be epic, hours and hours of gameplay.

More story and compelling plots that pull on the emotions such as the end of overlord.

Can we have the ability to toggle helmet on or off again please? I really wanted to use some of the helmets but couldn't bring myself to use them. When you are talking to someone/thing it is better to see their face.

Party Members:
More interaction with squad members.
Lets see squad members interacting with one another throughout the game instead of in their lonely, stationary positions all of the time.
  • Eating together, drinking together discussing missions.
  • Laughing, joking in each others quarters.
  • Moving around the ship together interacting with the ship crew. Maybe having a game of cards or something while travelling between planets.
  • When we come across them together we can stop and talk to them where they are and ask questions to the group. We could ask them to meet us in our quarters for personal talks or if they do not mind, talk to them infront of the group/groups. This would save us running around the normandy after every mission to find each individual and talking to them. We could see the bonds being made between characters throughout the game through their interactions. Plus if they are together or in groups, the dreaded 'I'm busy, bugger off' would not seem so bad.
  • Romance needs to come back into the game and play a larger role, more interactions with LI and dialogue from the get go so we have more of a relationship feel.
  • Ability to level up squad members when we please, not just if we take them on missions.
Inventory:
Somewhere between ME & ME2. The research terminal for projects and upgrades was great but limited. We need some sort of inventory to spec our weapons, ammo and armour for our own personal tastes. Bring back a little customisation. I have read some good ideas for inventories, skills and upgrades on this forum.

Skills/Abilities:
I Liked ME2's skills and abilities (although for some the different level ups were not significant enough) lets have more.

  • Do not use ammo as a skill set, replace with biotics or tech. The need to spend skill points on ammo is rather ridiculous.
  • Please can we not have to spend skill points on certain skills to have access to others?
Armour/Weapons/Ammo:
More customisation needed, let our characters feel more unique to each of us;
  • More intricate parts to armour and weapons & the ability to combine different parts to make custom armour/weapons.
  • A range of colours and patterns.
  • Customisation or party members armour & weapons similar to our own.
  • We should be able to choose which ammo we would like for each weapon, with the ability to swap and change before, and in between missions in the armoury. Shephard may not be able to carry all the ammo himself but our ship can surely.
  • More weapons and upgrades to choose from through reseach and purchases. Lets have the ability to choose from a range of weapons equipping which ones we would like to try and dicarding those we do not.
Missions:
  • Recruit the galaxy, unite them for the final stand. More hub worlds for the differnt species.
  • Lots of plot twists, content and immersion, dialogue & combat. I would rather have a few, long, memorable missions that keep me on the egde of my seat pulling at my heart strings, filling me with rage & wonder with some side quests, than lots of side quests with lack of content.
  • Great cinematics, visuals, textures.
  • Visit Earth.
General:
  • Normandy was great, keep it up. Lets have a few more editions to the ship. Although we may not even have the Normandy in ME3, it was the IM's and cerberus' after all.
  • Loved the new combat system.
  • Loved & loathed the Mako, loved and loathed scanning for minerals. Not sure what could bridge the two or replace.
  • Would like to see the conversation wheel actually depict what you are going to say.
  • More movement from NPC's
  • Lets see Tali's face so I know if rejection was the right call. Hot or donkey I do not mind.
  • Something to earn extra credits such as trading through the extra-net or something.
  • Galactic news terminal on the ship?
  • Let's have some stunning visuals, cinematics and epic battles.
  • Extra long campaign.
Sorry ladies/gents didn't realise I was so demanding, just started typing and lost control.
Bioware you are awesome, thank you.

I want as part of a DLC or special edition a series of interviews with the actors about this epic they breathed life into. Granted the creative team and writers gave them great characters but the actors performances make or break the character.

We will have spent hours interacting with their characters so seeing the thoughts of the actors on their history with the character would be very interesting.

Have both 2 way and 3 way sqad banter going on in certain situations like if nothings happening 2 people go back and forth for a while and if things are happening then all three of you get to talk.

Get rid of fuel, probes, and baby Normandy I liked in 1 where I said fly here and we went no driving when I first loaded up 2 I spent 2 days looking for Jack sense the type 1 font wasn't helping me find her ship and I had no clue where I was going I'd rather just say fly me here and we go there

Shepard on trial

I don't care if the Normady is TIMs or not I'm stealing it along w/ my body and he's going to have to kill me to get them!....so in other words Normandy in 3 w/ some customizable options like the ability to upgrade and change furnature and belongings in Sheps cabin I really want to get rid of the fish tank and model ships and replace them with better things. Also to be able to change around some other other luxery areas I'd like the option to either keep them luxery or switch them to millitary.

The ability to paint the Normandy and get custom insignia

RPG style game play and movie style epicness like 1

Biotic interrupts. In fact, more acknowledging the fact that Biotic Shepard is Biotic full stop. I'm getting a little bored of every cutscene and conversation playing out like I'm a straight-solider even when I'm not. The class distinctions should come into play outside of combat as well.

I would like "biotic choke". :P

does anyone else not want bioware to get rid of all your party members again? personally ive grown really attached to everyone, well most everyone cough cough jack kind of scares me cough cough but seriously i dont want to start a new team from scratch again. i think it would be a little repetitive for us to rebuild a team to fight a super powerful enemy for the third time.

an idea, and im just throwing this out there so feel free to agree or disagree, would be to keep our group with the exception of 1 or 2, i'll give you a little lee way just dont ditch garrus or miranda cuz they're my favrits, and instead recruit races. woah mind blower right!

example convince the migrant fleet not to go to war with the geth and instead have them help fight against the reapers. cuz there is no way an army of 13 can take out 1000's of reapers. but every organic race in the galaxy banning together might have a shot.

bonus, yes theres a bonus, some of the story is already there. you could help Wrex to finally unite tuchanka so now you have an army of krogan. what if you re wrote the geth in legion's loyalty mission? you have an army of geth. maybe you can get aria to recruit omega or liara to recruit ilium, cuz they run those towns. anderson, or udina for those who decided to pick him, can pull some strings on the citadel.

i just think this will be a freaking awsome idea. im practically jumping out of my seat thinking about this. please reply to this with your opinions. and i really hope a designer or writer or anyone who has a say in the making of mass effect 3 reads this and puts the idea on the table. those who read this lenghty message thanks for listening. :)
